Current difficulty : 1124815084

Sept. 2015 - Jan 2016
http://www.coinwarz.com/difficulty-charts/monero-difficulty-chart

If my memory serves me right, ATH was 114xxx .. Monero price was .0055 back then..

Chainradar shows 154... on August 30, 2014. But if someone queries the blockchain database they can get an exact number for the highest difficulty on any single block.

Oh, I meant to say 14xx

The diff is still increasing, almost all-time-high!
Difficulty: 1087200493

Difficulty went from 53110219 to 1017604313 in just a couple of hours...

Switch your botnet over?

I don't run a botnet, I use company resources, Sugon cluster (300 nodes, around 300kh/s). I dont think this is a botnet, the diff went up too  fast, someone might be manipulating the diff. algo ...
How?

I dont know, i came here to ask. How the f. is it possible for diff to double in just a couple hours ?!

Someone pump this shit up to .002 so I can dump my stash

DASH is now back to where it was before the btc pump, monero soon to go below .001...

Conspiracy theory , monero developers (ponny, smooth) are on someone's payroll to stagnate development, postpone the release of updates submitted by others for as long as they can.

How do you do that, do you buy futures?

Futures, swaps, futures options or swap options are all feasible and each has its place.  In this case, I prefer a complex ratio option on the futures, to gain on both premium and speculation, but YMMV.  If you wish to start speculating on soft commodities, I suggest Interactive Brokers for U.S. / U.K. punters.  $10k will open a U.S. futures speculation account, but 30k is easier to work with.  When starting I suggest no more than 2x leverage, and no option trades, until you are have endured one or two adverse 5 sigma moves.  Which, counter-intuitively, should not take but a few months, given current market stresses, and the totally broken state of the primary global market risk measures (interest rates). If you are new to this, keep in mind that everything about the system is designed to take your money.  You will be a guppy amongst the sharks, until you can grow some teeth.  Then you will be a teeny, tiny little shark, amongst the great whites.

Up from 467 to 475½ now, intraday.  I will scale down a bit at 480, then let the rest of my exposure ride for a week or two, if the monkey is right.

You are full of it..

All-time-low network difficulty: 491180295
Mega-botnet got disconnected, herders trying to pump before the mega-dump Smiley Ride it but beware..

Wouldn't it be positive if a botnet got disconnected? I mean, assuming the botnet just dumps all the XMR and the "normal" miners hodl a bit more it might result in less selling pressure.

They've switched to other monetization methods, XMR price is so low mining is just not worth it.. They'll be back when price goes up again..

Not really all time low but it is a low for quite a while. Good time to mine.

All time low my friend, it was this low 2-3 months after launch almost 2 years ago..

And we did it for a minuscule fraction of the $18 million raised by Ethereum. But I'm surely preaching to the choir here - as a CEO of a large corporation, you'd surely never let such a phenomenal amount of money be wasted, would you?

I don't think money was wasted and neither does Microsoft. Stop feeling butthurt, project you forked from the original ring signatures developers failed.
It happens. Startups/projects that don't succeed in the first two years usually fail.. Next time work harder!

Ethereum has two years to prove its worthiness, so far they are doing great!

So as a CEO of a large company you would be completely fine with what has been done with $18 million? Either your claims of being a CEO is farcical, or you're such a trust fund baby that you have no idea how to value money.

Or, as smooth said, you're shorting.

$18 million sounds like a fortune to you doesn't it ? You run an import/export company with less than 1m annual turnover and you think you're a wiseguy.
How do I know its less than 1m ? You look cheap. Your watch costs $100 or less.

Microsoft does not invest in projects that are unlikely to succeed or are led by amateurs. Vitalik is young, he has the capacity to learn. Ethereum is as revolutionary to cryptocurrency as web was to the internet.
