LMAO, at the Blockchain Conference in New York, this guy, John Fenley claims NEM foundation owes him huge sums of NEM. Is this true? Funny as hell to stage a protest. Give the guy a break, he needs a new pair of sneakers.

Everything to know is written here:

https://whoispontifier.wordpress.com/2018/05/14/the-journey-begins/

Its a great summary and everyone can quickly see that all his fault. No chance that he will receive anything from the foundation.

He is posting on twitter now and protesting right before the conference

I think it's a sign that you're on your way up when you inevitably start getting hecklers and upset people. It's just one of those things - you cant please everyone. Besides, this absolute fool has only himself to blame. Back during the NemStake distribution I introduced people to it who were barely tech savvy -- nevermind Crypto savvy -- who managed fine and got their stake redeemed.

If he didn't follow the rules, thats his hard luck.

.....There's something really Christian about this guy. Like, Ned Flanders, self righteous "I'm in a Christian rockband" Christian. Am i the only one getting that vibe?

I completely forgot about BitTrex' NEM wallet being offline, and I bought some and now they're stuck. I submitted a support ticket because I think having a wallet offline for a month is ridiculous. Does anyone know the status of getting this resolved for everyone? Are any NEM developers in communication with BitTrex on bringing the wallet back online?

The price of NEM seems to be in a bit of a slump right now, so figured this was as good as any a time to buy a few, but... now I'd love to harvest with them.

Frankly i'm not surprised.

The "hack" (if it was that) has made NEM a hot potato in the eyes of exchanges, who are the source of the problem anyway. (If coincheck had properly secured the wallet, it wouldn't have happend -- unless it was an inside job...)

Unfortunately NEM is the scapegoat.

I hate to say it but i anticipate nem to be alienated further depending on how the coincheck "hack" develops. It's infuriating as it's the exchanges at fault, but their greed (and thus, influence) in the market is no different or better than banks. Undeserved, but can't be ignored.
3  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Hitbtc.com is a scamsite- beware on: December 07, 2017, 03:41:14 AM
I made a deposit of 46996 XEM (NEM) to HitBTC back on the 17th of November.

The deposit was delayed by a number of days. I opened a ticket to try and resolve this.

It was eventually credited, but my trust was knocked and i wanted to immediately withdraw.

it's been 19 days, and they've still not credited my wallet with my withdrawal. Here's a thread i've been spamming each day they've not honored the withdrawal:

https://forum.hitbtc.com/discussion/1478/nem-deposit-delayed-finally-credited-now-delayed-withdrawal#latest

A picture of my account for proof:
https://imgur.com/x3bpb4N

I've opened numerous tickets to the same excuse "Our engineers are working on a solution" etc etc.

I'd be extremely cautious to anyone who's contemplating depositing any coin on this site, as we could be seeing them crumbling under the load, or just executing an exit strategy by luring in new depositors before they run off.

Why is this coin not moving up for quite long time? I holding a lot of coins.

It's ok. Bitcoin is stealing all the Tethers....I mean, spotlight.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: November 28, 2017, 06:26:24 AM
If the whole exchange manipulation of Tethers pans out in the way i think it will, i'd expect NEM to be worth about 10 cents a coin in the coming year, possibly less.

ALOT of coins, bitcoin in particular, are going to implode once this huge exchange ponzi tether scam is blasted out in the open. This is the "bubble" that people have talked so much about, except it's an entirely artificial one, it's worse than we first thought.

All orchestrated by exchanges. The bane of Crypto existence. Might be worthwhile investing in any decentralized exchange projects if any of them are going on. I foresee them getting very popular soon.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: November 27, 2017, 07:14:35 PM
If it actually has to do with devs cashing out a lot of our community funds to finance all the awsome projects we have in front of us, then "manipulation" is to harsh a word.
I for one, am willing to suffer a little for the good of my NEMs future.
Doesn´t phaze me, i´m hodling anyway.  Smiley

I'm going to choose to go with the above theory. I hope if that's the case that some of the funds get put towards a solid marketing effort.

The majority of crypto prices, volumes and market cap is a lie. This is due to exchanges working together to price fix through bots on their site, often giving them and advantage by allowing bots to trade when their site is down.

You've also got the drama unfolding now of Bitfinex "Printing" tethers out of nowhere (while using a bot to maintain its 1usd value) to then later pump bitcoin/alts on the market. For example:

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DPpJPsiW4AAqsSq.jpg:large

In fact, i'd wager, the vast majority of coins out there, NEM included, has been suckered into this massive exchange manipulation thats going on, done through the creation of Tether. This rabbit hole goes deep and if i had invested any sizable sum into the market, i'd be extremely worried and have probably dumped some time ago.

If you use Bitfinex, or ANY exchange that trades Tether, i'd seriously consider withdrawing funds/selling/get an exit strategy in order, cos if this unfolds in the way it could, this could quite plausibly ruin the market. Think mount Gox -- they pulled the same stunt, with the same bots and manipulation. but this is across multiples of exchanges through the creation of Tether.

I believe This is going to end bad.

Unless decentralized exchanges are worked on asap, they will be the undoing of the market. Too many of them have far too much influence and are mostly ran by professional criminals and scammers. They are nothing but the corrupt banksters of the crypto world.

I will admit to a bit of frustration as we watch non-functional vaporware platforms e.g., IOTA, NEO, skyrocket upward over the past week on non-news, while NEM/XEM languishes in neutral despite a steady stream of positive updates with substance. Now NEM seems destined to drift out of the top 10 marketcap, maybe even top 15 near term as heavily manipulated junk like HSR continue an inexplicable rise.

NEM has a three year jump on all the clown coins suddenly cropping up around it, and it shows, hell most of them struggle to even have a working, secure wallet for their user base.  Come-from-Beyond, the great and mighty Dev behind NXT, who recently farted out IOTA with its Tangle? Tangle is an apt description for Come-from-Beyond's creation seeing how the Dev team of NEM, led by Jaguar0625 had this to say about his spaghetti coding skills back in January 2014...

Re: [NEM] NEM -New Economy Movement - No Envy Movement - Updates+Discussion thread
January 22, 2014, 11:23:27 PM

What makes NEM different from all the other NXT clones (like NEX) aside from the 4X more coins? Also, what is the timeframe for this project?

I think NXT can be overtaken by a clone because the NXT stakeholders have too much power and I think their greed could destroy the coin. So, I definitely support this NXT clone movement. The real question is which clone will be the best?

I'd rather take some of NXTs ideas and create a new coin from scratch because the NXT code is spaghetti. (And if we can get away from Java, the better Smiley).

My 2 cents.

And with recent Catapult release the NEM team has fulfilled ever bit of the promise in Jaguar's final sentence.

You have to bare in mind that NEM has been through cycles like this before. Particularly in it's infancy.

I'm an original stakeholder. I've watched it all unfold. The crypto sphere is very much like stocks -- each coin basically representing a share in the company (ie, devs).

Most coins lack drive, fundamentals or even a solid, bug free wallet. Even those coins like Ethereum are riddled with holes, bugs, and required rollbacks or had forks, yet through bot trading and wealthy investors, it remains in a continual state of pump.

I often think long and hard about the state of the market, and within a few hours you can see at least 3 or 4 coins go through a pump or dump phase, where'as nem remains untouched.

Like stocks, you want the shares of that new company that has the fundamentals to see their goals through. And as long as NEM remains at a reasonably cheap price, it's always an opportunity to accumulate.

I do sometimes wonder, perhaps the whales are very much aware of this, and by keeping NEM out of the regular pump and dump cycles, the whales spend most of their time quietly accumulating.

Sooner or later, there will be a market cleanse, and the dump that is coming will wipe out a good chunk of the rubbish we see on the markets today. When the dust settles, only those coins with a solid drive will walk out that cloud.

Do not be enticed to try and participate and profit off of the whales games, cos i guarantee if enough NEM holders do sell their coins, you'll see the whales jump on board nem and leave you in the dust.

It's all one big game of musical chairs, don't participate though, remain seated, else you may lose your seat altogether. It appears as though the next big "pump" is now primed at NEO --- China, again, pulling their bullshit. Just as the Chinese Miners did with BCH. They're purpose is to profit in BTC/FIAT, nothing more, nothing less.

Could you please provide more detail about the project...starting with the team of this project?

You mean Comsa? They have a very detailed technical document

Ignore. Just another bot. Thats 4 (at least)that are posting on this thread now.

Judging by the post history most likely.

Always best to assume everyone is a bot, or operates with a ulterior motive. When money talks, bullshit always walks.

Ethereum just has problem after problem. How it remains one of the top crypto's is truly beyond me.

This will either negatively impact all alts or drive people to better platforms like NEM, i'm hoping on the latter.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: November 05, 2017, 03:54:29 PM
I think bitcoin is going to remain bullish for quite some time and a $10,000 pricetag per btc isn't farfetched at all.

Short-term this will decimate the alt market but, just as what occurred last year, it's a temporary thing.

I believe BTC is seeing a huge influx of fresh new money and investment, this is extremely good news not just for BTC holders but any cryptocurrency investment. I think the floodgates are finally opening and sooner or later, the Alt market will catch up -- just as it did before. It's not a question of if, just when.

This is probably going to be the last opportunity to bolster up on your Alt positions before they play catch up. Keep away from the shitcoins though like Doge or other clone useless crypto with no future.

Still holding my XEM for the next huge stride once the market settles the bitcoin uncertainity with chinese exchanges.

China pulls this stunt all the time, they're effectively fudders on a national scale. Let BTC activity go by unhindered, then release some negative statement, price drop, their officials accumulate, then let it rise again.

I personally wouldn't trust a word out of China's mouth.

I made new NEM news. Topics: NEM news: ICO Graft, COMSA, Bankera, Qchain, Competitors, conferences
https://youtu.be/PsfYCWTfeGY

Great work. One minor comment is that Graft is not actually utilizing the NEM platform outside of the ICO pre-sale. They are only using NEM mosaic during pre-sale to raise funds and then will burn them to transfer to their own PoW/PoS hybrid block chain. It's great to see people choosing NEM over ETH to host their ICO tokens but don't want people to invest in Graft thinking it will be using NEM technology.

So would i be right in thinking the only ICO that exclusively uses XEM is DIM?

Has anyone here got their funds back from poloneix yet?

i had 55,086 in a wallet there i was trading for the last few weeks up until i attempted to draw it out and it gave me an "Error" message. never had any issues before ( And i've used polo for years!)  so i know it's no error on my part.

Naturally opened a ticket but it's been over a week and still no reply.

Starting to get a bit frustrated now. I wouldn't mind so much if they at least released a twitter or statement saying they're working on a solution, but as they play the silent treatment it does not bode well in confidence or trust.

bit wrong there. 5800 sats. lol.

Not NEM's fault though, whole market is bearish. always how it goes. it'll recover.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: July 01, 2017, 10:46:51 PM
It seems that ICOs are not as good as we thought earlier last month when it had great effect on ETH price. Look just few weeks later where ETH ICOs took ETH price! All ICOs are cashing out to start dev operations. From that perspective I am not excited about any NEM based ICOs namely the ones that would employ crowd sale. Cause whatever they will add to NEM price it will eventually evaporate as what is happening now with ETH ICO bubble.

true, but you're looking too short term. if they're cashing out to start operations, and successfully build and deliver to their ico roadmaps, this can build signficiant value in the longer term.

Can't help thinking that the whole cryptosphere is being manipulated by the establishment. Anyone think the same?

it's china, as i've said many times, and as they've proven many years before.

on the plus, this isn't an indicator of nem failing, it's all cryptos going down as a result of chinese manipulation into the markets which has pumped them up.

as far as crypto's go, you can't go wrong with nem

This dumps had really made some holders dump for BTC. Price is now just $0.14

BTC is also down...

https://youtu.be/v1uFcUt0IVE?t=5m29s

All governments will try and manipulate bitcoin (And crypto's in general), but China in particular is quite ruthless in their corruption and manipulation of the masses. Out of all crypto's Bitcoin is the most chinese dominated currency out there as they hold the biggest bulk of it's mining operations - and therefore, power over it. People need to understand that government involvement into crypto is a conflict of interest, as it undermines their manipulation of currency and therefore, power. Right now, governments -- particularly china -- is gaming bitcoin to guage how far they can push their manipulation of it. when the whim suits, they'll make the price tank, as i believe we are witnessing now.

People are NOT safe in bitcoin. its either got to be precious metals or an alt coin that isn't so heavily influenced by governments.

There's a lot of brand new and recent negativity over Ethereum (but I was pointing out their problems for a couple of years).  The blockchain bloat and technical problems weren't new but now (last 48 hours) people are pointing out all the blockchain bloat and sham ICOs.

Etheruem price is tanking right now (moreso than NEM and other alternates!).

Until a victor emerges from this, there is a possibility we may see renewed interest in NEM in July.

To me, it seems like this is the time to buy NEM and hold NEM - because in July we could see new an all time high.

When NEM goes up it goes up.   We  may even hit the orbit of Pluto if Ethereum implodes and all the capital flows into the NEM network.   $1 NEM and higher could happen in 2017.    Shocked

July looks like it will be a good time for strategic updates and market gains.

Nice info, but it looks like ETH is a locomotive for all alts and it has a big impact on the whole altcoin market, like it or not...
I wonder, what will happen if the ETH price will go back to ~0.05...

At some point we need a new altcoin leader if ETH will show weakness Smiley

Now that ETH has trouble, It is time to show the world that NEM is much better than ETH and should be the reference cryptocurrency.

That would be flippin awesome if nem had a well timed huge news release, showing how superior the tech is coupled with a large corporate agreement, or a big time update/upgrade (catapult)
To steal even half of ether's marketcap would be absolutely huge...
One can dream right?

many of us stakeholders could've only imagined it get to its value now. not really an unreasonable dream.

i agree

i tried getting into the tenx ico but the eth chain made any transaction impossible -- which i did expect to happen given past occurences. Eth has always been a frankenstein of a blockchain and honestly i've never understood it's hype or appeal. Everything Eth does, XEM does much more cleanly.
