The DFL has decided to introduce some new kick-off time starting with the 2021/2022 season. The Monday 8:30pm games and Sunday 1:30pm games will be replaced by Sunday evening games starting at 7:30pm. The, as of now, second Sunday game will move from 6:00pm to 5:30pm. I like that. Hm, very good news for the Bundesliga in my opinion. The ridiculous Monday night game is gone. Bundesliga finally takes place again on the weekend. Pretty sure most of the fans will like these more work- and family-friendly changes. In addition to that replacing the early Sunday 1:30pm game is a smart idea to support the amateurs und regional clubs, which usually play on Sundays between 12:00pm - 3:00pm. I was always against matches that was taking place during Monday. So good news that Bundesliga decided to move the Monday game to Sunday. Weekend is for playing football, many people are working on Mondays so interest is dropping on weekdays. |

Strategy has always been part of mind games of these matches and I could totally see why a manager would want to change the tactic and create a new sort of formation to surprise the other team and more often than not that might actually work as well.
However, Barcelona is not like other teams, if you did that with any other team you could have gotten away with it, but barcelona is a team that gets that tiki taka 4-3-3 style from 10+ years old to their professional life and that kind of means you have to follow that up to el classico and any other game as well. Definitely, if you try that against getafe it might work because they are a whole lot of better than getafe but when you test it with Real Madrid it will not work because the difference is too minuscule.
Tiki taka football is kind of "old-fashioned" in my opinion. There are a lot of teams that have studied this way of playing and there are a lot of ways to tackle this way of playing football now. It was efficient 10 years ago, so Barcelona should adapt to a new way of playing. |
