I usually talk mBTC anyway or "bits" I like bits.

Just cutting off the red/black line back towards the hub will be sufficient.
The red is DC'ed. I tied the neutrals together as.. a lot of my circuits in school tended to fail hard if all the -VE's were not tied to a common point. I could Isolate them? Think I should?

Perhaps I will add some diodes. Although.. that voltage drop :S

My compact 2's keep dropping out :S..
I have 4 compact 1's and 3 2's. My 1's have been mining straight for some time the 2's though.. I can never seem to have more then 1 online for longer then 12 hours.. I have them driven from their own power supply.. a computer power supply each with 20A on the 5Vdc line so I really cannot see how it is current or voltage supply issues :S.. The miners are set at around 1.4 Vcore from the cap to gnd on the usb. Any suggestions? I cut open a USB extension cable and connected the PS to the red and black for the power to each Pac 2.

Why, because you have just bought coins ? Be patient Hah, yeah 4 years is patient i think. watched them rise and fall and rise and fall. Just excited there is volume hitting us again. Same here, Ive held coins for awhile and over the last couple years I started buying more on the lows. Feathercoin is one of the oldest still active coins. Its had its share of ups and downs. Its not going to rise up over night, it will continue steadily grinding along in he background until its day is here. Its like that old UNIX mainfame sitting in the back room of the office building. Its been there for years, its neglected and abused. No one even remembers it being there or even realizes that its running - but it is. Still running, still spiting out numbers and doing everything its been asked to do.... for years and years. FTC is also on of the first coins I bought... I grabbed a bunch of the larger org alts. I got 2k FTC.. not much but ya.. it was worth more at the time lol..

Hi I have recently installed Litecoin on my Win10 Desktop. I have then encrypted my wallet and set up a passphrase. After that, I made a small purchase of LTC. As it happened, some issues on my desktop required me to format and reinstall Windows. I've made a backup of the wallet, and after re-installation and restoring the wallet - everything seemed fine - except for an error message on which I did not think was serious - the LTCs were in place. I have then decide to make another LTC purchase, this time a bigger one, which was successful. After a couple of days, I installed a Litecoin wallet on my android phone and, in wishing to get myself familiarized, I tried to send LTC from my desktop wallet to my android wallet. I was then asked for my passphrase - and to my great surprise got a message that my passphrase is incorrect. After several attempts, including different possible passphrases, using a few backup versions of the wallet and reinstalling Litecoin wallet on my desktop, I have reached to the following 2 options (arising from different backup files - made from the same PC). 1. I have the coins in my wallet - but my passphrase is not accepted. 2. My passphrase is accepted - but my balance is 0. Please note that with option 2 - i did not set up a new passphrase, the wallet is already encrypted - I am just able to change my passphrase. This is the error message I receive when I recover the wallet with the coins in it: The file was named walletrrstored.dat Any help will be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks in advance Don This is going to suck but.. have you tried re-downloading the block chain? A -rescan command might help, I forget how to use it however.. I *believe* change the shortcut access name just add -rescan after the "blah blah file location"-rescan try without a space then a space.

Especial good luck if you're using Windows 10, because it's probably the worst possible OS. Not just for mining, I mean, but like in general. For anything. The only tech support I'll ever give for a Win10 application is "try again with a better OS".
They started supporting XP again!!! Ahh yaaa. Especially since half of the screens we have for gen paralleling systems use XP.. I still have my XP cd and a spare comp with it on it.

I don't get the difference between segwit and BU.. both seem to just be a block size increase but segwit just moves the extra data...

You say that.. after 40 hours of trying still zero luck with the raspi pi. It is easier ONLY and ONLY IF you are good with the OS else it is almost impossible and a nightmare I would never recommend anyone try.
really? where is the problem? at install or at working after install? Did pi software install fine and you see a desktop? i straightforward did what is in post number one with addition of a small bit in Q@A section I don't have any 'special skills' whatsoever and i only used pi twice-for compac1 and Compac2 remember that you can right click on a cgminer folder and then choose 'open in terminal' once in the folder and install a little string from Q/A, you don't need sudo (YOU do need to add sudo IF you did not do this little part, but vh recs not to run with sudo) I'll put it again here: cd ~/git/vthoang/cgminer/ sudo usermod -G plugdev -a `whoami` sudo cp 01-cgminer.rules /etc/udev/rules.d/ sudo reboot don't forget to NOT use exe, instead it is ./cgminer -o stratum+tcp://solo.ckpool.org:3333 -u 1BURGERAXHH6Yi6LRybRJK7ybEm5m5HwTr -p x --suggest-diff 32 replace solo.ckpool.or with whatever that works (if you want), same for wallet address I will not be trying again, I have spent to much hours raging over trying to get it working with my rasp pi. If there is a zip file created I can just put in and load up a mining program that has the drivers for the sticks I would try it, else it's windows only. I like my hair and get stressed enough at work lol. Or well if there was a good youtube video I might try it again.

Get a raspberry pi, so much easier to mine with that. Pretty easy to setup if you follow the online instructions. Im sorry if this has already been answered before but its driving me crazy and ive trawled through 14 pages and seen nothing but a sudo command to help fix the problem which dosent help in win10.
I'm getting this error:
USB init, open device failed, err -3, you don't have privilege to access - BSC device 3:5
I've followed the setup, Im using the most recent linked bcminer, running as admin. Ive tried without extensions, with extensions. I've installed the driver using Zadig.
What have i done wrong?
I have had windows automatically roll back the drivers every time I install... its annoying AF. Try going into your device manager and rolling back the driver. Right click on computer then manage. You say that.. after 40 hours of trying still zero luck with the raspi pi. My attempt at upping the power to my soon to be arriving 2pacs on the cheap. I'm reusing stuff I already had on hand. I am waiting on my Block Erupters to sell on eBay to reclaim a 5v 40 amp led "meanwell" power supply. My plan is to use Monoprice usb extenders and some 18GA wire to hook up the power of the meanwell and data of a cheap 10 port hub (also hooked up to the meanwell) I hope to get these guys running at 3 to 3.5 amps per. I slice the jacket and remove the red and black wire (verifying that they are the +5 and ground on the usb ports) Cut the red wire and cap the side coming from the usb hub. Solder in the new 18GA wire +5 and ground cables. Verify no shorts and wrap the solder joints on opposite sides of the usb cable. I cut some 3/4 wood dowel and using a saw and 1/2 drill bit made usb "Holders" they are spaced 2" apart to allow cooling. I plan on attaching these to the board that my power supply is mounted to and using hot glue attaching the usb "holders" to the wood dowel. And then attaching cooling fans. Will Post more pictures when I get it completed. Just wanted to throw this out in case it helps others. Looking forward to updates and pictures of your setup. I did something very similar to this idea and finally got all my miners mining at once .
