2741  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Update to 0.10 Wallet - Merge Mine w/BTC! on: June 04, 2015, 01:20:54 AM
"What is the Unobtanium market?"

Smart people.

"I see there is good work going on, but what I wanna point out is that I dont see what makes this coin different from WDC, ZET (just examples). "

Not trying to be rude, but I don't think you've looked very hard if you don't yet see what makes Uno different from low hash, high inflation coins with weak communities and values that depend on the delivery of future promises. A lot of people in this thread found Uno after doing their own research; the facts lead them here .  Take another look at Uno and then lets have a good conversion. Otherwise it just looks like trolling, and that gets boring really fast.

I agree Uno is better than other coins with low hash, high inflation coins with weak communities and values that depend on the delivery of future promises.

But the question is what's gonna happen from here to 1 year? (After the next bitcoin bubble)

What reasons gonna have the new people to buy/use this coin?

Dev,

Any exchange?

No, exchange mate. Developer could have got the BDC listed on Yobit or EmpoEX.

Though, BDC did not do huge BTC volumes due to it low value per coin and 200 million max coin design, it did have regular buys and sells on Bittrex.

However, they've not posted anything on this thread, about what they've been up too.

I alredy wrote to the exchanges

do you have the wallet running?? could you upload it please? I need to move my coins somewhere

Uploaded it to this link, but when I opened it up to sync. The blockchain had been stuck for 4 hours. You will need the PM the developer.

Thanks!

Hi,

what makes this coin special? low fee transactions?

Thanks for the info!

Hello, we are one of the fastest coins out there. But here is a  list of some other distinctive features:

   - Automatic upgrade tool
   - Download compressed chain from installation. The wizard compares hashes and uncompress to the location you desire

 For the next major version in the coming weeks :

   - Theme engine. Change you UI as you like
   - Resolution independence. The wallet scales depending on the resolution of your monitor. You can scale up or down manually using Ctrl + wheel mouse
   - Scriptable modules. All UI functionality is implemented using QML - Javascript. Which means you don't need to compile anything to add functionality inside the wallet
   - Custom framework : A lot of functionality will be implemented in a custom framework done in c++. This will allow in the future to integrate various internet services directly into the wallet, like blockchains, news, shops or whatever you want.
   - A couple of features not disclosed yet

More info at : http://forum.worldcoin.global/index.php?/topic/66-wallet-refactor-project-2015/
Screenshots : http://forum.worldcoin.global/index.php?/topic/92-wbc-screenshots/

If you are interested in a specific topic i can make more detailed description

Thanks!

And who is gonna be the target of the coin? I mean, who it's gonna be the end user?
2744  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ZET] Zetacoin - SHA256 coin - Quick confirmations - 0.9.2.4 on: June 04, 2015, 12:42:12 AM
what makes this coin special? Huh

quick transactions??

deathcoin in 6 months?

It's an old coin, before your time, before the time when coins needed gimmicks like PoD, MasterNodes, stealth engines, or whatever useless feature of the month currently is en vogue.

It was the first coin to have a sharply decreasing reward, without ending up at a zero reward.

It was one of the first coins, if not the first, to do proper difficulty adjusment. Zetacoin has not forked once to change the difficulty algo. This was before absurdly named things like "Kimoto Gravity Well", which are just over-complicated incarnations of Zetacoin's difficulty adjusment.

It was one of the first coins to upgrade to the Bitcoin 0.9 code base.

It is on many of the big exchanges around the world, etc. etc. etc.

So yeah, Zetacoin was here before your time, and will probably still be here when you leave.

lol

sorry mate didnt want to offend you

so we can say it was the "first coin with proper difficulty adjustment"

I do agree ZET has nice distribution (big exchanges) but i think it lacks the target on which is gonna focus

Hi,

what makes this coin special?

Thanks!

No empty promises is the biggest thing that makes this coin stand out. Limited supply of coins, only 250k Uno will exist, the last 50k being mined out over 300 years or so. It was a fair launch when it made it's debut, no ninja launches starting on block 10k for Uno. The first blocks were a really low reward as well to give people even more of an opportunity to mine the coin fairly. The latest thing is the merged mining which allows the power of the btc network, well some of it anyway, to support the Uno chain.

There are plenty of coins out there that say they are doing X, Y, and Z. Or at least plan to and yet they go no where. Uno is a stable platform on which to build upon.

The coin has not lost value if you held it, that right there is what makes Uno the most special.

It's simplicity is what makes it shine the brightest for me. The community is awesome and that is another major draw. Lots of people devoting a lot of their time to different projects that all utilize Uno and in turn add REAL value to Uno instead of it just being a digital token for fiat, lookin at you bitcoin.

The more i looked into btc the cooler crypto seemed, but then again you have the bitcoin foundation which is acting like some type of central authority for bitcoin, no better than the banks, just a matter of time before btc devolves into another tool for the actuaries to use to manufacture wealth for all their buddies. That left me longing for something more. That, and when i entered cryptoville btcs valuation was around 1200 bucks. Major losses if i had invested in btc then. What made more sense was to invest in hardware to mine btc and other coins to diversify my risk in case btc did what it did. Granted none of it really panned out all too well, except for my time spent with Uno.

If you consider any of this an 'investment' you are going to be sorely disappointed in the short term. If you can hold out ten years who knows lol. What makes an investment an investment and not a gamble? If it pays off it was an investment, if you lose on it, it was a gamble? Half empty, half full, who knows. What i do know is that i have been 'all in' on Uno for the last 3 or so months after xmr finally spiked again and i managed to exit.

If you want a coin with a lot of promises check this out: https://www.ethereum.org/ether They did a massive presale and raised a TON of money almost a year ago now. Look at how well THAT project is doing. Overly ambitious perhaps. Or just a flat out lie. Either way, it happened. "The sale lasted 42 days, starting on July 22nd and ending at 23:59 Zug time September 2, and collected a total of 31531 BTC, worth $18,439,086 at the time of the sale, in exchange for about 60102216 ETH. " 18 million bucks for a website and some good ideas. But yeah, if you read about it, it all seems VERY promising, still, it is just empty promises until it arrives and you can use it.

That being said, it isn't really about what it is that makes Uno so special, rather what it isn't, that makes it stand out. The uses for Uno are limited only to the depths of the human mind.

Thanks for your answer! Smiley

I see there is good work going on, but what I wanna point out is that I dont see what makes this coin different from WDC, ZET (just examples).

What I wanna say is:

Startcoin = Crowfunding
Teslacoin = Crowfunding (Free Energy Projects only)
Cannabiscoin = Cannabis market
Auroracoin = Islandian people
Pesetacoin = Spanish people
Myriadcoin = SMS wallet for poor countries
Unobtanium = ??

What is the Unobtanium market?
(Some of them could be just promises, but that is not the point here)

One country = one coin

Hi Bleutrade,
I like your exchange and i like how you are including all the countrycoin as they will have a lot of demand and expose in each country.

We understand your consideration, most of these coins are no longer viable as it has very low or no volume, some of them are already dead. We are following the market and looking for the most promising currencies. Thank you for your preference and comment. Continue following us.

I agree some of them they are not in their best moment, but as soon as new people joins the cryptocommunity will see Community Takeovers in the less active coins.

I think you're missing the point that till now, we have had a national currency. I agree in the future is gonna change that, but the people will make the transition little by little. (in some years from now)

The average Paco in Spain will prefer Pesetacoin to Bitcoin. That's a fact.

Investors invest in what they think people will use.
2760  Other / Politics & Society / Re: "Podemos" Spain. What do you think about ? on: May 25, 2015, 11:15:48 PM
What do you think about Podemos  ?
Are they against Bitcoin ?
I agree (partially) with their ideas, but it is a little too "extreme" for me.

Sorry for my english, i am french.

Dont have info enougth to talk about, but will see in the next months what they do

Pablo Echenique, who was part of Podemos (he left the party, tho) has declared bitoins in his Income Tax Declaration

Quote
