Greek Banks On Verge Of Total Collapse: Bank Run Surges "Massively" As Depositors Yank €700 Million Today Alone

While the Greek government believes it may have won the battle, if not the war with Europe, the reality is that every additional day in which Athens does not have a funding backstop, be it the ECB (or the BRIC bank), is a day which brings the local banking system to total collapse.

As a reminder, Greek banks already depends on the ECB for some €80.7 billion in Emergency Liquidity Assistance which was about 60% of total deposits in the Greek financial system as of April 30. In other words, they are woefully insolvent and only the day to day generosity of the ECB prevents a roughly 40% forced "bail in" deposit haircut a la Cyprus.

2723  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Auroracoin - A new chapter in the history of Iceland! on: June 06, 2015, 04:32:09 PM
Can Auroracoin become Iceland's biggest source of revenue?

Aurora coin is a precious commodity found deep in the heart of Iceland's volcanoes. This heat rises to the surface and is used as geothermal energy to warm homes and power electric generators on the island. This electricity then gets used up by thousands upon thousands of computer processes dedicated solely to a task known as "mining" in the crypto currency world. The government can invest in its own mining of aurora coin in Iceland and be in a brilliant position where the low price of power can give them a discount.

+1

2727  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][EFL] Electronic Gulden | Christiaan Huygens wallet released on: June 06, 2015, 04:05:46 PM
is the coin related to Guldencoin in any way or is it trying to use a set up infrastructure of Guldencoin?

Follow the trend of all scam coins.

Create scam coin, dump out.
Scammers become the victims and do a "community" takeover in the hope of making more btc in the future.

The reason less scam coins are created today is because it requires a lot more work to impress the crypto community, before shitcoins like EFL could make easy money but greed is keeping these fellows pushing on thinking they will strike it lucky again or praying that Guldencoin makes it big so when the public purchases from places like litebit they make a mistake and purchase EFL.

Niels I would recommend you rename the coin GuldenCON and change EFL to NLC. You will make a lot more btc this way.

The ones who bought EFL from an anonymous dev without any development plan where stupid, the ones not buying EFL backed by a foundation and real people who are not affraid to show their faces are also stupid. It is all about how that name you mentioned is actually a contract with the Vatican that is against all form of human rights and deviding the freedom we obtain by getting rid of this so called "fact", but keep on putting yourself on the first place, it suits the community you are representing.

The old foundation trick, same as Asiacoin setup after scamming the community twice. Most scamcoins that had a premine resorted to a foundation to try legitimize the coin.

Just for the record I don't support country coins even though guldencoin is one of the few honest altcoins, I just don't see the point in them. Virtual currencies are meant to be global Wink

I'll tell you what the point in them.

1) NATIONAL FLAG

A national flag is a flag that symbolises a country. The flag is flown by the government, but usually can also be flown by citizens of the country.

Both public and private buildings such as schools and courthouses may fly the national flag. In some countries, the national flags are only flown from non-military buildings on certain flag days

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_flag

2)NATIONALISM

Nationalism is a belief or political ideology that involves an individual identifying with, or becoming attached to, one's nation. Nationalism involves national identity, by contrast with the related construct of patriotism, which involves the social conditioning and personal behaviors that support a state's decisions and actions.

So to clear up some confusion here

For starters. The swap occurred in November. Cryptsy was not contacted in any way until February. The devs had 0 communication with the american community and basically left us hanging with no option to perform the swap or even be notified to stop trading. Which you can tell by the fact that this thread wasnt updated until devin stepped in. If it wasnt for Devin, a member of the community who was able to reach out to the developers and get a line of communication going we would never have got any resolution. To add to that a swap that could have taken 1 hour was stretched out over a 2 weeks period due to a communication barrier and the fact that the YBC devs initially would not allow an escrow. That was unacceptable to us. We cannot send out customers funds and hope to get new coins in exchange. It took about a week to come to the resolution that they would send YBCoin in exchange for the YBCoins we had at the day of the swap.

Cryptsy is not insolvent. Devin or the YBShares developers if they decide to chime in can show that our YBShares have not been moved since the exchange was completed.

YBC is still YBC. Its a valid functioning, moving blockchain. YBCoin will continue trading and you can freely withdrawal your YBC to the YBC blockchain after we complete the swap

YBShares are completely separate. If you owned YBC at the date of the swap on cryptsy. You will receive your ybshares.

In short the YBC developers left us hanging dry on YBShares. If it wasnt for YBCDevin the one who reached out and opened the communication between us 4 months after the swap, then we would have had no choice but to delist the currency

It takes a lot of work to go back in time to perform a swap. Which is why Crytpsy usually doesnt support them unless the developers have a clear easy to work with plan. Which the YBC developers clearly did not. This entire situation would never had happened if they had done the swap on the public ledger rather than in private.

Both markets will be opening in a few days. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

Yeah, you'll need to bounce a small transaction around to get the next block found.

I know nothing about extra nodes though.

Let's see if Bittrex can make that

Ok,
to sum up,
no segmentation and no marketing plan for adoption?
"let them come to us"...

Hi Rw13enlib88. You're welcome to be here and I trust you've appreciated the number of people who are civil and engaging with your questions. However, as the discussion goes from a few posts to a few pages (so far), the argument of not having time to read back through the thread becomes weaker. There's a bit to read here, but in the past pages you'll find:
- discussions about various exchanges and community participation to help increase volume and adoption;
- the aforementioned push for Chinese translation (thanks to Gekko 463) - work in progress;
- numerous businesses around the world (including my own) accepting UNO and participating in the community push for adoption and investment;
- an entirely UNO-driven spin-off organisation with its own in-house, P2P trading mechanism (see CryptoGuild);
- week-long community outreach to the communities of Reddit and Cryptocointalk;
- development of the 0.10 wallets by 8bitcoder, Pnoch and the devs;
- Cryptapus' various games and paper & vanity wallets;
- BigTimeSpaghetti's own UNO-stamped, serialized silver bullion for sale;
- development of various price tickers and web trackers, blockchain explorers, paper wallets, etc.;
- significant and lengthy community collaboration on the If, How and When of merged mining and auth pow (completed successfully, albeit with a wallet hiccup that was addressed);
- significant and ongoing discussion of how best to foster and reward pool miners and to ensure miners are properly rewarded (including paying 'above spot' for mined UNO, prior to the MM implementation);
- working with Coax for UNO/bullion purchases and with Coinpayments.net for UNO payments via their gateway;
- ongoing art, media, articles, videos and blogs on and about UNO and its development and use;
- a level of community participation and sharing of experience, knowledge and trading skill in an open forum at a level that is downright rare in almost any other cryptocurrency (or even in dinosaur money forums - people simply don't commonly share trading knowledge and skilled market observations as freely elsewhere);
- an attentive and supportive community who assists and listens to people who are struggling with problems;
- all of the above (and probably more I've fogotten) has been consistently and thoroughly performed since we started talking about UNO in March 2014. More than a year ago! That's ages in crypto-time - and we're still going!

Your quoted comment above makes me wonder whether you've read the first post in this thread - FallingKnife has kept this pretty thoroughly updated over the past 20 months, it's worth a look. Please, continue asking questions as it does bring out quality answers and helps generate current discussion, but do consider how your questions may sound in the face of such a thoroughly documented and active thread. I don't think you're trolling, but it's not a stretch to see why others may.

(I'll acknowledge you have a point regarding marketing plan - something the NOTE folks are doing quite well actually). I'll also add here that it doesn't hurt to have our fundamentals questioned from time to time - if they can't be clearly defined and satisfactorily answered, then maybe we're all missing something and are wasting our time here!. Cheers.

Ninja edit: Gekko, I'm reluctantly onboard with Daniel. He looks to be our best bet right now. Thanks for your work on this.

Hi cragv,
Thanks for your answer. I'm not trolling, sorry if i've sound like it. I just trying to understand what's going on.
I understand you're an active community, creating services to make Uno more interesting, active social media, great distribution (5 exchanges) but i see some point here:

- what does Uno have that doesnt have any other coin?

the price is 0.01091
a) people see it as valuable because is scarce and expensive (good)
b) but people like to have lot of coins (bad)
c) for that price they can buy litecoin or dash (bad)

- What reasons will the newbies have to join this community and not a more little one?

In a more little community their work is gonna be much more appreciated

If ya read back like 4 pages there is a pretty big push to get a lot of this out to the Chinese markets. Translations and promotions and such.

It might be more like 8 pages back, i cannot be sure now that i have looked 4 pages back and it wasn't there. There has been a rather large collection taken up for the goal though.

thanks for that info

@Rw13enlib88 Thanks for your interest. This chart is one that I think a lot of people would be interested in -- especially long-term investors / speculators like myself.

From 0.0045 to 0.0113
that's 251% increase

June 2016 in 0.028375 ??

That's your prediction?
