I decided to buy guldencoin today. Better to bet on 2 horses then one. They have achieved a lot in 1 year so have to give them credit where credit is due. EFL I will just hold but not buy anymore and see where it goes. I only see today how much has been done by Guldencoin.  Angry

You only had ELF?  Shocked Shocked

You should diversify your investment in at least 10 different coins

By investing in a coin you are also supporting it. The funny thing about focussing on a specific coin is that you support your own investment. The notion to spread your risk while investing risky is a bit awkward. My suggestion is to get to know the people behind a coin, rate their intentions, make a choice, focus and even better : promote to protect your own investment.

Huh Huh

New or stupid?

You can see your investment in  the cryptocoins as investing in stocks or as venture capital investment.

In both you have to diversify.

Dont try to fool the newbies

Kore Voip Alpha was a great proof of concept.

Let's put Kore 3.0 back on the table for discussion.

1)  Set up a KoreCoin foundation & choose a king
2)  Establish funding for the foundation as a 50/50 split (too much?) of staking rewards with staking wallet and foundation wallet (give him all the money and power)
3)  Free TOR based VOIP calling for anyone staking more than X (1,000 coins?) (free calls for rich people, the other ones pays)
4)  Kore foundation partnership / contract for service with Anveo or similar provider for VOIP calls relayed from foundation TOR servers

wallets are syncing again now and blocks are moving.  Let's get 3.0 built in the next 60 days.

Can talk on the point 1 and 4. MikeMike4real and KoreTeam, what are your thoughts?

Maybe I get it wrong, but the 2 and 3 sounds like this to me:

1)  Set up a KoreCoin foundation & choose a king
2)  Establish funding for the foundation as a 50/50 split (too much?) of staking rewards with staking wallet and foundation wallet (give him all the money and power)
3)  Free TOR based VOIP calling for anyone staking more than X (1,000 coins?) (free calls for rich people, the other ones pays)

I am not, i just use litecoin paperwallet services for EFL, that way I know the website/service owner/handler/middleman can not know he handeled an EFL transaction, even when they promise me it is totally secure. Also, efl.nl is going to assist me into my journey to the unknown.

Thanks!

You are welcome, another change i made since then is 2FA, forgot to mention that one  Wink

Dead coin. Cryptsy may delete from trade. Investors take care.

It has more volume than a lot more coins. No reason for delisting (delete from trade)

Dev, please add to OP

Been 6 months since the user 'aliencoin' was active on BCT.

Community takeover?

Yeah, may be time for that. I offered several months ago to fix up the retargeting (needs per-block difficulty retarget), but then the dev reappeared, so I thought we were good.

I can add per-block retargeting to the source and compile a new client, but it will require a hard fork, so Cryptsy and any other exchanges (are there any left?) would need to be on board. I'll need help with that.

A hard fork could be a little difficult to schedule because of the erratic block rate. If I set it for (say) 14400 blocks into the future, we could find those in 2 weeks if the network was minting at the normal rate, or if blocks slowed significantly due to getting stuck at a higher difficulty (like it did 6 months ago), it could be a month or two before we hit that point...

There must be a strong team behind the hard fork. So for the moment I dont think we are in that step. just my opinion.

any other thing we can make for helping ALN?

New exchanges?
PR?
2691  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [AC] AsiaCoin | Pure PoS | 100% Interest on: June 10, 2015, 12:14:23 AM
news?

working on new wallet version including:
-system alerts
-explorer window within Asiacoin client (similar to Vericoin)

alerts were planned already in 2014 - we see references to alerts in Micryon source but unfinished:
https://github.com/AsiaCoin/AsiaCoinFix/blob/master/src/alert.cpp
https://github.com/AsiaCoin/AsiaCoinFix/blob/master/src/alert.h

as to Asiacoin - network is very strong, 58% of all coins are staking now : https://chainz.cryptoid.info/ac/#!extraction
only handful of coins have stronger network percentagewise

Thanks

2693  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Conspiracy Coin on: June 09, 2015, 11:55:11 PM
I was doing some quick calculations for miners and investors.

On an average day 16,771 CYC are produced each day. 29% off the official production schedule.

Of course, most POW coins with fixed block values are behind their official production schedules!

START coins (big economic crypto) block halving on official schedule should have been around Jun 13 2015, but it not forecast to be achieved, until mid-October 2015. 33% off the official production schedule.

Nice, bit of technical information on the practical realities of mining and investing. A coin like Dash has dynamic block reward, which increases to maintain the official production schedule.

Interesting...

Could you explain the reasons why that happens?

Is it technically possible to merge two blockchains? We could ask their development team to see if they can do it.
No. You want to keep balances and transactions history? These must come from mined blocks which must be connected to current blockchain.

It doesn't matter, EFL is for store of value, we have less coins which mean we are more valuable. NLG can be for use and we like gold standard.

let's stop here. Merge is not gonna happen.
This is not even a serious thing unless you're planning to promote EFL in the NLG thread to bring some dutch people here (quite agresive marketing strategy in my opinion anyway)

EFL has the richest btc holder in the Netherlands supporting us as he believes in our vision, if he wanted to he could pump the price to over 200k.

Name?
Proof?

If he's a big EFL bagholder he can also dump the pice....

I'm also EFL investor, but i think we should cooperate with NLG

For example, we could make a service, that allow EFL users to pay where NLG is accepted... and it would be awesome if they help us with that Wink

Good luck on that, so far they only work on their own project, most shops that accept NLG are not even connected to bitcoin, just NLG. If you get their community to see the advantage that you just described, and that adding merchants just for your own coin is not helping crypto as much as it could, we would be playing a completely different ballgame. We've tried already without any succes and therefore are now focussing on our own, but I'm sure our team is willing to co-operate with NLG.

My personal opinion in this is that we do not need to add merchants, as they are just people that sell stuff and if they are smart they make sure they can also sell to people who do not hold their currency, it's just extra turnover for them. We have a merchent tool ready, but I believe we need a community that only wants to buy with crypto and if we get that, a lot of merchants are going to connect themselves to any form of crypto we want. As NLG mainly communicates in English, I would love to see that coin as a payment solution for all inhabitants and tourists of our country, while EFL with it's dutch language is more for the natives who can store their wealth over a long period of time.

About rich and poor, I personally think that there are not a lot of people who hold as few fiat as me. It's too bad the sexcoin forum is gone, but there i wrote about how I became a (euro) millionaire on trading sxc and lost it all for being naive and not securing my pc enough. I am not rich at all, only that I talk myself into believe that real richness comes from happiness and that my choise to step away from fiat, makes me happy in the long run. Then again, if we really got that richest btc holder of the netherlands supporting us, make him put the price on a euro for a second, I'm sure a lot of dutch inhabitants will start having doubt about their pension if we can show them there is another way!

I think that can make the difference. (even if I dont understand dutch)

Could you explain us how are you securing your pc? (for non-tech) (Thanks!!)
