361  Other / Meta / Re: Should bitcointalk ban promotion of other forums? on: January 30, 2024, 04:14:56 AM
Why would we get involved in this? Seems pretty fascist and antithetical to the spirit of the forum.
Agree when you're too big in your niche competition is out of your mind as members of other forums I'm just too glad that we have forums that promote Cryptocurrency because in the first place that's what we all want for this technology to grow If I will have a local forum I will promote all forums that deal with Cryptocurrency and let people decide the forum where they want to get active based on their preferences.
362  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are every activities/competitions with stake known to be gambling? on: January 29, 2024, 11:39:34 PM
Me: Gambling is a game of chances to winning or loosing where stakes are involved. It is an activity of personal desires to decide if you derives chasing after profits or catching funs.

However you tends to define gambling, it would be incomplete if stakes, risks and challenging activities (competitions) are not mentioned.

You can defined it your way but my interest is to understand this>>> Are sports games or related competitive activities which stakes are involved between both sides or teams also gambling?
Remember, there would be a winner to be rewarded and a looser to lost the stakes.

So let's look on the dictionary for an exact definition of what gambling is

Quote
Gambling, the betting or staking of something of value, with the consciousness of risk and hope of gain, on the outcome of a game, a contest, or an uncertain event whose result may be determined by chance or accident or have an unexpected result because of the bettor’s miscalculation.
https://www.britannica.com/topic/gambling

So yes when the activities or sporting events have money and something valuable is involved it can be considered gambling so sports can be considered gambling to some extent, based on the definition of a dictionary but sports enthusiasts do not attach gambling to it, they want to see the performance level, skills, and strategy employed by the athlete, teams, and fighters so they can participate without the involvement of money.
363  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: O’Shaquie Foster vs. Abraham Nova WBC World SUPER FEATHERWEIGHT Feb 16 on: January 29, 2024, 10:57:22 PM
Great fight, if others haven't known or seen O'Shaquie Foster, you can search his highlights in Youtube specially against Hernandez.

It's one of the greatest fight last year, Foster travel to Mexico, fought to defend WBC super featherweight, corrupt judges, Hernandez was up in two of them. And then comes round 11th, voted as Round of the Year by Ring Magazine, https://www.ringtv.com/article/2023-round-of-the-year/.

Again, I urge you to look at it and see what Foster is made of. I thought that he will be fighting Joe Cordina next IBF unification, but I guess he needed a tune up fight first in Abraham Nova.

I think this is a easy fight for Foster, IMHO.

O’Shaquie was so good when he fought Rey Vargas he may not possess power punches but his level of determination and consistency in the ring is just awesome Nova is also good but he will have to score big in the early rounds because O’Shaquie is very consistent throughout the fight, this is going to be a very interesting fight as both fighters are ready to take in so they can give out so expect a slugfest on this fight.
They have somewhat similar styles and as we all know style makes a fight and their style will complement each other to come out with a great fight.

OK, you provided what is needed and what are the requirements but it is unclear what this is all about how will you guarantee payment and whether is this safe for the users, for all, we know you're using this for illegal activity, you just provide us your telegram handle, many of us here are not comfortable of an offer that is too good to be true, I've seen some platform where you can sell your excess internet data like Honeygain and Pawnapps.
On Pawnapps you can earn only $9.60 per month if you keep your internet open for 24 hours so you're offer is just too good to be true.

366  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rolando Romero-Isaac Cruz to meet on March 30 in Las Vegas. on: January 28, 2024, 02:25:44 PM
I'm surprise that no one has votted for Romero here to win despite he is the defending. It seems people are not convince that he is deserving to be a champion. Isaac Cruz here the pitbull is very hungry for a win, his Legit loss (recent) came from Tank Davis which is a superstar, and it was easy and easy win for Davis, so Cruz had proven he can go toe to toe againts a champion.

If we compare Rolly and Tank Davis, it's pretty obvious that Davis is more quality as a champion, so I understand now why everyone was rooting for Isaac Cruz to win the fight. And even in the betting odds are quite surprising, Cruz is the heavy favorite.

Quote
Rolando Romero 2.50
Draw 17
Isaac Cruz 1.53

I voted first before I checked some of the opinions here, and I thought two people including me would vote for Pitbull to win by a knockout, but we are four and I think more people will vote for Isaac Cruz for a knockout, Isaac will remind Romero of Tank Davis who knock him out and he can do that because on two occasions his chin was exposed.
Isaac was never been seriously hurt so he can take Romero's punches but we don't know if Romero can withstand the Pitbull's assault, he should do what he did against Barosso and that is by running a lot in the ring.
367  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When I'm emotional, I LOSS! on: January 28, 2024, 01:20:23 PM
Hey, guys! Are any of you emotional gamblers who often lose because you can't control what you feel? When you lose, do you tend to double your bets or chase your losses, driven by a pride that can't accept defeat? Do you consider this a problem? If so, has anyone here been able to solve this kind of problem themselves, and if yes, how did you do it?

I have this problem, and based on my personal experience, I find that sometimes I get challenged but not too greedy because I don't have a problem quitting when I'm winning. However, when I'm losing, that's where my struggle lies.

That's why I shared it here; I feel that some of you may experience the same challenges, and I'd love to hear your ideas or experiences on how to win this battle so we can enjoy gambling.

Two things, you will soon mature or you have to stop gambling because it causes you emotional issues, gambling should be fun and sometimes profitable if you can relax and just follow the flow of what you're doing it is human to be emotional but you cannot go on like this hurting yourself emotionally every time you gamble.
For a gambler to evolve in the right way it should be fun, no emotional distress and your life is not revolving around gambling.
All gamblers go to this phase when they are starting or they have not control their emotions and urges yet, so accept the feeling and learn to move on and evolve you can do that if you want to mature in gambling.
In gambling, you either mature or you will end up a miserable gambler.

Those e-books are great but are you the official distributor of these e-books, I have not yet accessed the site because it's still down but you have to confirm that you have the rights to resell these e-books, if you're not this is copyright infringement because you're selling e-books without their permission and for personal profits.
370  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2 years old kids alone at home for hours, while the father goes gambling on: January 27, 2024, 11:25:27 PM
The guy was arrested for child abuse the police officers did the right thing, who could do leaving 2-year-old twins just to gamble, the guy's mind is so clouded with addiction that he doesn't know his responsibility to his children, what will his children think when they grow up that they have a father who will prioritize his urge to gamble than their welfare.
This is what addiction will do to family, they can put their children in a dangerous situation the father should get rehabilitated before he can reunited with his family, he is out of his mind and cannot tolerate his addiction, this is why so many addicted to gamblers have broken homes they cannot do their responsibility to their family.
371  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can gambling addiction lead to domestic violence? on: January 27, 2024, 04:14:27 PM
Being addicted to gambling can be a thorn in the flesh. We have heard many bad behavior from gambling addicts that shows that gambling is a serious concern requiring serious efforts at curbing it. Many casinos also include in their disclaimer "gamble responsibly" and this shows the danger of gambling addiction.

However, I'm wondering if addiction can make someone become aggressive to the point of leading to domestic violence. Has there been any known case of it happening? Lets know what you have to say.

I read somewhere there is a study here in our country where 90% of addiction leads to domestic violence, in a country where there is a poor economy every cent and peso counts, so if money is allocated to gambling instead of buying bills and food on the table, there will be an argument that will lead to domestic violence, the wife cannot just take it and it will lead to separation.
This is why addiction is a big concern of our government because the family is the one that will suffer first if the head or any members of the family are addicted, if you're an average-income earner and you're betting, check and moderate yourself or it will lead to domestic violence that ruin your home.
372  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is addiction bad only when it is a problem? on: January 27, 2024, 01:41:14 PM
Addiction to gambling is not a problem for some gamblers because there are some gamblers who are addicted to gambling, but it doesn't affect the other activities of their life. They take care of their families, wear good clothes, smell nice, meet up with appointments but still cannot control the urge to gamble. It doesn't affect their life because they can afford to gamble and manage the loses they make. So, to these people addiction is not a problem. They are addicts, but because they are successful, their addiction is ignored or excused as it is not a problem.
So I am need to know, is addiction only bad when it is a problem?

It's not addiction at all, everything that is over and within the limit can be considered a problem, if you're playing within your limit, allocate your bankroll, and only play within your means then you are not addicted to gambling and can be considered a responsible gambler not falling into the category of addicted gambler.
When you encounter or have issues with your finances and your family relationships then it is a problem and you are considered addicted to gambling you cannot go over the limit and not encounter problems to avoid this moderation is the key.
373  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the definition of a Gambler? Do you consider yourself as a Gambler? on: January 27, 2024, 12:09:00 PM
Personally, I don't like the word Gambler tbh. And it feels more worse when someone calls someone a Gambler in the local language. I played some hands it's true and I tested many games for test purposes But I was never affected by the gamble. and I consider I am not a gambler myself. Somehow I do not feel good or something does not fit with me by this word.

What do you think about yourself and how do you want to define the word Gambler?

If you don't want the tag then stop betting, gambler are those involved in gambling or betting, there are no other words for it, but there are responsible and irresponsible gamblers, so if you believe that gambling is not harming you then define yourself as a responsible gambler, people should not be a shame if they are betting they should only be a shame if he is an irresponsible gambler do not others control your thought as long as you are doing fine and enjoy what you're doing and you're not harming anyone you are good to go as a gambler.
Who knows if you win a big amount in gambling an amount that can be considered life-changing, so embrace your being a responsible gambler and you will be fine.
374  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Older men vs Younger boys in gambling, Which enjoys Gambling for fun the more? on: January 26, 2024, 06:31:32 PM

And the question is very simple, Between the older men (talking of from 60 years old and above), and younger men (talking of from 18 to 45 years of age) which of this category of men actually gamble for fun the more?

If I was to answer this question, I did say that the older men are more likely to be gambling for fun, than the younger men, and this is due to several reasons which I am not going to mention yet, but will see users who share in this same view of mine will be able to also come up with same reasons.

Older men are financially stable they have gone through a lot in gambling and they know the ins and outs of gambling they are more responsible, it takes years to mature in gambling and when they reach maturity they enjoy gambling more because they have the right perspective in gambling.
Compared to the youth who are ignorant, very haste in making decisions, and are risk-takers, when you have all of this you have no room to enjoy gambling, there's a lot of pressure, especially for young people who have no stable job or business to back up his gambling activity.
375  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: gambling for fun vs gambling for the financial benefit. on: January 26, 2024, 05:57:52 PM

Do you really see gambling as more of fun than a means to a financial end?
You have to see it that way otherwise you'll lose your bankroll because your motivation is to make a profit and that involves chasing your losses, when money is your agenda in gambling you will face a lot of pitfalls and will eventually gamble money that you can't afford to lose and that's where the trouble begins

how much can you put into gambling before it removes the fun aspect of gambling out of it?
For me, $100 is already a big amount I hope that I will be lucky so I will not lose that money it's more stressful playing with that amount and I will be pressured to try not to lose that money.

Quote
Coins.ph said they have 18 million users in the Philippines, but Zhou noted that 80 percent of these are dormant. He said that on average, they only have 200,000 to 300,000 users monthly.

"This year, we’re gonna have a major campaign to recall those users back. I think the app itself wasn’t perfect in the last couple of years, and I think, as we made it better, we hope [to]...basically recall our lost users," he said.
377  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: lucky check club lottery on: January 26, 2024, 12:23:49 PM
Hello to all,  month ago began to use payment in cryptocurrency on the website https://luckycheck.club/index.php?route=common/homeland .
And during this period there was no sales through cryptocurrency.
Why?Huh?? Undecided

You did not provide complete information and your post is incomplete I checked your terms and conditions and your FAQ and there's no mention if the site is using Cryptocurrency or how to fund your account, people will not patronize a platform with incomplete information, the platform was Updated On:
2023-07-25 That's already 8 months now there should be an improvement.

If you're the owner of the platform might as well modify your Terms and conditions and FAQ to attract more users, if you are not the owner and just want to patronize the platform then send them a message to improve their platform.
Honestly, this is not the kind of platform worth betting on, so many things are lacking.
378  Other / Meta / Re: Use of AI on Bitcoin talk on: January 26, 2024, 03:47:50 AM

Now why did I create this thread?
Recently I came across a post in the beginners and help section by a newbie whose English was not ok. Now what drove me into thinking was the reply of one of the forum's most reputable member; BlackHatCoiner. Here was his reply ;
Re: New member as you notice there he mentioned the op rather use an AI to punctuate his posts than leave them poorly structured.

Now my confusion is Although the forum says not to use AI content does that mean that paraphrasing or punctuating with AI is allowed?

I will also ask the OP of that thread to use a  paraphrasing or correction tool to correctly structure his thread for members to fully understand what he wants to convey, and yes I also encourage the use of Grammarly, Grammarly not only correct our errors but we also learn how words are correctly written and where the right punctuation should be, even the best writers use Grammarly to correct the wordings, the past and the present form of the sentence, but output should come out from the posters thinking and it should be within the topic.
This is to avoid miscommunication from the creator of the topic and the posters posted different answers because of miscommunication because of the wrong structure of the topic.
379  Other / Meta / Re: Other Forum members are more civil than Legendary members, Why? on: January 25, 2024, 11:52:41 PM

They are most times emotional and personal in their contributions to issues of public concern.

Who else is noticing this attitude as a newbie or member?

We all have a share of that not only legendaries I had a lot of encounters with newbies and many of them gave me bad words when I was just correcting their errors of abusing the forum rules, and also it's not good to single out without giving samples of what you are calling abuse, this is an open forum as long as the discussion does not go to threat,  people should go along with it, you can choose to ignore the member that does this or just move and do not engage.
I haven't seen any personal attacks so far all are just for the sake of discussion.
380  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tim Tszyu vs Keith Thurman WBO super welterweight Title March 31 on: January 25, 2024, 11:21:01 PM

No Tszyu vs Crawford anymore because of this match. This is the first fight to be showcased by Amazon/PBC and all they could come up with is Thurman who had been so dormant for a long time. There were lots of fighters signing a deal with PBC but Thurman being the main event was much unexpected and it's a mismatch.
Erislandy Lara and Michael Zerafa are among the card. This one is a fair fight.

This fight looks like preparation or a tune fight for a Tszyu - Crawford fight and Thurman is a sacrificial lamb for this, a champion and up-and-coming fighter fresh from a decisive win three months ago pitted against a guy who has a long layoff of 23 months is just not good in the eyes of boxing fans, Thurman will have big obstacles of trying to shrug off that 23 months lay off and Tszyu will not give him a chance.

One big concern here is the stamina if ever the fight goes to the championship rounds like round 10,11,12 Tim will have an advantage because of his youth and conditioning, Thurman and his team should all be aware of this, it's a bad scenario for Keith.
