481  Other / Off-topic / Re: The Best Movies on: September 04, 2014, 09:24:14 AM
Some of my favorite recently watched movies are:

Reign Over Me
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0490204/
I know Adam Sandler hasn't been really popular with audiences since his movies from the early 2000's but I gave Reign Over Me a chance and was really glad I did.

The Man from Nowhere
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1527788/
Really great little Korean flick. Nicely choreagraphed fight scenes reminded me of John Woo's stylistic action.

Flight
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1907668/
A great performance from Denzel Washington. You wanna hate him so much in the movie but can't help but feel sorry for him.

The Art of the Steal
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2172985/
I always loved watching Kurt Russel as a kid in the late 90's so when I learned he made a recent movie I jumped all over it.
482  Economy / Service Discussion / Huge security flaw being exploited at Cryptothrift.com? on: July 04, 2014, 05:57:27 AM
I experienced something today on Cryptothrift that leads me to believe there is someone exploiting a security flaw on their website. Yesterday I made a purchase on the site--I sent the seller .2 btc. It went into the escrow system no problem. I later released the escrow to the seller. Today I received a message stating my escrow was refunded. I checked my wallet, lo and behold I never received anything. The refund that Cryptothrift sent was directed to a bitcoin address that I never used before.

I just received an angry letter from the seller asking why I had refunded the escrow. I didn't even initiate the refund request and I didn't even receive it. Does anyone think that there is someone exploiting a vulnerability and activating and re-directing escrow refunds to their own bitcoin address? If so then this is a very serious issue.

Thank you, that was one of the sites I was looking for Smiley
484  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for site that orders things for you online when you send them Bitcoin on: July 02, 2014, 10:31:47 PM
There are places like all4btc, but also you can buy a giftcard at gyft.

Thanks, I'll check out all4btc. I remember a while back there was another site based somewhere in South America that was very reputable but I forgot the name Sad Hopefully someone remembers it and can chime in.
485  Economy / Services / Looking for site that orders things for you online when you send them Bitcoin on: July 02, 2014, 10:05:36 PM
I faintly remember a couple of websites that order things for you online, i.e. from ebay or amazon and ship them directly to you. You just send them btc and they make the order. Does anyone re-call what site this is? Thanks in advance.
486  Other / Off-topic / If you could be any living person on Earth for a day, who would you be? on: March 10, 2014, 09:29:32 AM
Give reasons and justifications for why you would pick that person. Could be the dude that's dating Scarlett Johansen. Could be Vlad Putin if you're feeling sadistic. Or could be Obama if you'd like to be super stressed out for a day.
487  Other / Off-topic / Re: Anyone here that ever played "Rifts" RPG? Or any other table-top RPG? on: March 10, 2014, 09:23:23 AM
I've always wanted to try out a table-top game but it's a little daunting. Giant rule books that look like they take ages to go through. Hard core table-top vets that are lightning fast at the game. All these factors are a little scary to me. Plus there's so many, I don't even know where to start to be honest. Any suggestions? For a beginner of course.
488  Other / Off-topic / Re: Got free time? Just don't waste it on faucets! on: March 10, 2014, 09:00:19 AM
I've always wondered if faucets were worth any time at all. Apparently they really aren't. But I think for anyone looking to have some fun doing a couple of rolls here and there it's not a bad way to pass the time. But by doing that I guess you wouldn't be doing anything productive at all. I wish Duolingo had Japanese, I need to learn some before heading there in the summer.
489  Economy / Digital goods / Re: 12 Month Netflix Codes - UK & US Codes on: March 10, 2014, 02:23:00 AM
It's been more than 4 hours since I sent you the btc, where is my Netflix code? Why did you stop communications with me right after I sent you the btc?

https://blockchain.info/tx/44a5bcea4a2f0107cbc427c49c0942c343ef6d99933220cf7080cb857e612612

Either send me the code or give me a refund. This is bullshit.

edit: Yep, I've officially been SCAMMED It's been more than 26 hours since he's accepted payment and not given anything in return. He's basically stopped all communications with me. All for 0.02 BTC...wow

Haha, this reminds me of the rumor going around awhile ago that Australia banned small breast sizes in TV commercials and movies. Weird that I was reminded of that. Anyone remember this?

I think Betek just went to bed. It's okay though, I've received over 8 payouts from him so I'm not worried. Gonna keep depositing!

SCAM

Well it was good while it lasted but it looks like the owner is selectively scamming. He is sending certain deposits to his own addresses.

My deposit of 0.16 btc tx ID 6b49c9ff4a8ab0dccff6f5cf7f537a9d819c82ccd93c2e573f17f03936f20a8e was never returned (I deposited over 6.5 hours ago).

User boumalo's deposits 1c4aaa0a294f8266496bb1e94c650dc99e58c80a6071d8bf09fc83660135cfd1 and 65ee25b5d928d2f0f21d12da0c2169a414e01c6d49f4360aca0bcb29737a246b (total 0.40 btc) were never returned either.

Got paid on first deposit. Looks like this could get big. Nice looking site too.
494  Economy / Gambling / Re: should Ponzi's be in the gambling section? on: February 19, 2014, 07:19:47 AM
Like another member already stated, what's the difference between these Ponzi sites and all the other btc gambling sites? Yes, the gambling sites have rules and such but in the end users will lose money on either side.

I don't understand why you'd have to hold someone's hand and say "No, we shouldn't gamble on that site, we could lose money." Players should be aware of the possibility of losing--that's why it's called gambling.
495  Other / Off-topic / [poll] What do you think is the biggest threat to humanity? on: February 17, 2014, 01:19:25 PM
I've been thinking and wondering about how our species will end. Well of course in another billion years or so if we stay within the Sun's current radius no life would be sustainable due to the Sun's increased heat output. Besides that, the Sun's death and the heat death of the universe--what do you think poses the greatest threat to humanity? Would we build computers so powerful, AI so advanced that they would eventually be able to think for themselves?

A stray asteroid is a real threat since the world's governments focuses on showboating their militarism instead of looking to the space and stars for advancement. An asteroid could appear any minute now and completely decimate our species and we wouldn't be able to do anything about it simply because we would rather fight among ourselves than work together.

I could go on, but some input on the other scenarios would be appreciated Smiley
496  Other / Off-topic / Re: Terrible Day on: February 17, 2014, 01:07:28 PM
Wow bummer man, that's pretty shitty. But it can't be bad all the time. You'll pull through. Sunnier days are ahead. In the meanwhile, focus on getting better. On the flip side, you could stare at btc charts all day like me and make buy/sell orders when you're incapacitated  Wink

Whatever money you give to them now you will never see back again. You've been warned. There's a reason why the price is that low.
