Are we going back down because of this?

https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/futures-global-stocks-tumble-amid-sudden-fears-over-dramatically-new-covid-strain

If so market is beyond stupid. If covid flares up again that equals more money printing end of story. This should be a time to buy moment.

EDIT: Lol, it is because of this, I just checked the S&P futures. Man people are stupid.

Man, I can literally see LFC and Arrie fuming...

Hang in there guys. $100k is not too far away. One more year at most. You HoDLed through a lifetime. What's another year?

HoDL, brothers!

Yeah it sucks, but right now is around the best time to buy. In a months time those who bought this dip will be very happy.

All these buy orders are in agreement I think.

Edit: Bounced as I posted. There's going to be some pretty sore shorts soon.

Also: about peer reviewed papers - make sure you check who it was that reviewed the paper and where it was published. I could send in a paper which states human shit cures cancer to an "institute" in India and get it published in some BS "science journal" with 50 peer reviews from some indian scientists nobody has ever heard of and probably don't even exist or who do exist and only care about making money.

I would only have to pay a few thousand dollars.

Best way to deal with this is to look up the journal's "Impact Factor". This shows how many times papers have been cited in other journals and their resultant quality.

IF >20=Science, Nature, JAMA
IF <2=Indian Times, DUH, etc.

This is not as good a guide as it once was. There is a lot of stuff that is absolutely not reproduciable in the higher up journals. Publishing has always been somewhat political and a who you know type thing and I feel that it is only getting worse. Though in this case I imagine the Indian Times is indeed shitter. But certainly don't trust the leading journals.

I myself am listed as a author (not first or last) in a recent enough paper published in Nature communications and currently have another paper in the same journal under review.

I also published in Nature, both as a first and last author (not recently, though) and it was very tough to get done as they receive vastly more papers than they could publish.
Many people in our field never had a paper published there and several of mine were rejected as well, then published in lesser journals.

Yep, they would get flooded with papers. We don't often publish in such high ranking journals but if we think we have even a small chance we'll generally take it. No loss if they don't accept, especially if outright rejection (as it's quicker), then just move down the line. Having those high ranking papers does help come grant time so it's definitely worth a shot. Mind you no grants for me this round, but thanks to Bitcoin I really don't care anymore.

This current price range is incredibly frustrating. When are we going to break upwards?
Obviously PlanB & his 98k is dead in the ground but this is supposed to be getting close to peak bull season. We really need to start moving up in the next week or so.

I hear ya. I still think we will go to the support line of the up channel first. Currently about 53k but probably 55k if it gets hit say on the weekend. A lot of people are calling for 53k so I don't think we'll hit it. If we get down there and if we don't bounce I'd be pretty surprised especially since on-chain data is still bullish.

Large uptick in supply moving to entities with little selling history today.

In other words, strong hands are buying the dip.

Short-term holder realized price (cost basis) has been a very interesting level that Bitcoin price has historically interacted with. This has served as a floor during bull markets.

Currently sits at $53K.

Waiting is the hardest part. But by early next year I reckon we'll be pretty happy.

China's final, final, final ever, Bitcoin ban honestly.

It's the end of Bitcoin again.

Works every time, Baa Baa better panic sell now!

Cue enter Billy and Proudhon full of glee.

Is this China again? What have the done now.

If it is, best time to buy going off there last ban which sent things skybound.

Here’s my thoughts:

You are already known as a glass-half-full kind of a guy, at least by yours truly.. to what degree that matters at all.. so it seems that any opportunity to put a negative spin on the UPpity potential matters of king daddy when we might NOT exactly be going UPpity is not really out of character for you...

By the way, you do realize that we had 9 days in a row of BTC prices in the top 10 weighted averages, no?... but yeah.. of course, not enough buyers out there... so it seems.   Cry Cry Cry

At least one positive note would be that you blocked a chartbuddy three-bagger...  Wink

Not negative, positive. Just for a slower movement up that's all. So no 98k this month, or possibly next. But early next year definitely. See channel chart, puts us around the 100k level in Feb.

You just have trouble understanding because you're metally retarded.
588  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 16, 2021, 06:49:05 AM
Next couple of weeks are make or break, I think. Certainly as far as the numbers being predicted by well known analysts go, it’s getting towards crunch time.

I’m not enjoying the struggle to get close to & breach $70,000. Today is the first time in a long time I am starting to doubt we will see a $100,000 bitcoin in 2021.

NFA.

Here’s my thoughts:

We are having trouble getting through the 60s because long-term holders (LTHs) have stopped accumulating coins at the high rate that we saw from the 30k through to the 60k level. They are possibly still buying these dips though as exchange reserves seem to still be decreasing.

LTHs not buying above the previous ATH makes sense as these people have traditionally taken profits as we go through the previous ATH. So what usually drives the price up from this point, while LTHs are selling, is the short-term holders (STHs).

I think the problem we are facing right now is that LTHs have started selling (or at least stopped accumulating) and the STHs have not showed up yet. Look at the run up end of last year in the previous chart. STHs come into the market taking coins from the LTHs (Oct 2020), this keeps happening until the STHs slow/stop buying. The peak this year in April shows that.

What seems to be different now from last run up at the end of last year is that when STHs came into the picture we were well below the ATH. This time we are at the ATH and no STHs of any note yet. So taking this under consideration, I reckon we have another month of sideways down, I’m basing this on the up channel displayed on the daily price chart, and think it may take this long before STHs start outpacing the LTHs.

Of course there is the possibilty that the 50% correction we had a few months ago has scared the shit of any potential STHs, and we may have to wait even longer till they feel comfortable investing again.

Feels like we’re back in consolidation mode after clearing some leverage out of the system. Im hoping for some sideways trading throughout the weekend and the start of another leg up next week. The big concern at the moment is the action on Tether and what that could mean. USDT was blamed for the rejection of the spot ETF and has had trading halted on Coinbase. Could have a market effect.

The old Tether chestnut. I feel for them, always having to drag up that topic to manipulate the price. Thing is they can't really do anything about it, because if they do they will no longer have it as an attack vector. They lost China bans Bitcoin, I'm sure they do not want to lose Tether. If they lose that all they'll have left is Bitcoin is destroying the planet.

Guess he has realised his price target this month isn't going to be anywhere near close.

18 days to go. don't underestimate the badger!

Oh, I don't underestimate it these days. But to get the price to 98 or 93 or whatever it was he was saying would require a very large inflow of funds. Doesn't seem like we have the FOMO type of inflows for that right now.

FOMO can start instantly and take us to $100k in days. Weren't you here with us during the last two cycles?  Cool

Been here since April 2013. But let's not kid ourselves, there is a difference when marketcap is over 1 trillion vs 2 billion. FOMO can and will happen, but a larger marketcap asset like Bitcoin is harder to increase than say a penny stock, or shitcoin.

An interesting article comparing Bitcoin and its adopters to the expansion of the USA into the west during the 1800s. I enjoyed it so thought I'd post here.

Back to the 64xxx again I see, getting really tired of this, really, really, tired.

I know what you mean. The 60s have been an absolute shit of a level. First time we got here a 50% correction followed and when we eventually break the ATH at 64k we only get a piss weak move, then a dump, almost get to 70k, another dump.

I really hope we move into the 70s soon and we can put all this behind us.

Man, who pays 300 ETH = $1.3M for this crap? Has the world really stooped to this level of retardedness?

Remove value from money as the central and private banks do daily and this is what you get. Next up, mass poverty on a feudal scale.
