A huge amount of doge is traded on Binance, in fact so much that the volumes there have either massivly exceeded or matched the Bitcoin USD volumes since this whole doge pump begun last month.

Does that seem a little odd to anyone or is it just me? What considering the market caps and all.

Binance coin also pumped very high (just without the volume of doge). So what's going on over there at Binance? just doesn't seem legit to me.

Edit: looks like doge will bring the whole market down with it. When ever I see it go down a little so does BTC, even though BTC has been going down as doge has gone up. People really are stupid and it seems like BTC is damned either way right now. What this says to me is that BTC is a very good buy right now (and more so if it goes lower) as it is currently oversold by stupid people.

incoming dump???

If you are as rich as Bill Gates you can literally afford to have a new wife every day.
Unless you can REALLY find someone you can trust and likes to do all the things you like, is respectful and patient and doesn't throw a tantrum over trivial things I would go with the new wife per day option.
Premium whore rates are what? About $2000 per day or whatever?
Literally less than 1 million bucks per year.
Bill Gates wipes his ass with a million.

So that's where this picture is from..
Don't forgot to flush that T.P in the golden toilet. Grin

This whole shtcoin thing is starting to have that mid 2017 feel to it. There was a major crash after it got to a crazy level, it affected BTC somewhat but alts got creamed. These pumps aren't being driven by the institutions so how far can retail really push it? remember the flippening talk from back then, I'm sure that will be starting up soon.
400 billion cap for ETH, 100 billion for binance coin, and 70 billion for doge. Seems kind of nuts especially the speed in which they got there.
Seems like the sh*tcoin is pumping from all the hype this week for former self-proclaimed C.E.O of Doge is going to make a skit about it on SNL this weekend.
Others are saying it's because Robinhood that thieving exchange is buying it all up. Roll Eyes
Was at $0.42 last night now at $0.57.
Hmmmmm.

Hmmm, a skit on a shitty TV show. That's a solid investment reason right there. Seriously WTF is wrong with people.

yea..I wonder when and where it all ends. In coinbase lists doge soon, it might be at $1, fulfilling "the prophecy".
I am a bit amused looking at that. The other two have momentum, but it cannot last if bitcoin is not cooperating.
At least, this is my expectation. I would say that for s-tcoins, it feels more like Jan 2018 than mid 2017.
If for bitcoin it is a mid cycle correction/flat, than it will all resolve positively.

Well, if it's 2018 the cycle is over. I don't think that it is, which is why I think mid 2017 is more appropriate. Sucks either way honestly, the way a lot of these things are pumping makes the whole market look like a joke, which is not a good look.

well, if you it compare to the stock market, all internet stocks looked like a joke..that lasted from late 1997 to early 2000, quite a bit of time.
It all depends on the level of participation. Judging by some of my colleagues info sharing, quite a few now got coinbase accounts and a buying bitcoin and e-thingie (it shows), so we could be somewhere in 1998-1999 with respect to the Internet "bubble", give or take. It can continue for a while, imho. But first, there could be a dip (mildly declining coinbase price kind of predicts it).

I'm definitely thinking we dip, we can't not with this kind of crazy. I'm just hoping BTC doesn't dip too much and recovers quickly. This time without the shitcoins participation.

Go, go, go shitcoins go!

Look at that shit skyrocket, man. It's like a plume of shit!

Glorious.  /s

I know right look at all the serious investors buying them too, obviously the future.

Actually, these things are pumping too much, I suspect a crash is just around the corner and I do wonder if it will be one that takes BTC down with it (nowhere near as much of course, 20% maybe). This buying seems to be coming from noob retailers, these are not the people who will convert to BTC, they'll go to cash and then exit alltogether with their losses. If we're lucky the original holders of these coins will convert to BTC, but, having seen the comments from these morons on twitter for the last few years I highly doubt it.

What will happen though is seious investors will buy the dip again as usual, so there is that.

Not looking good for Taproot. Is there some sort of downside that the miners are wary of?

Not that I know of, but I haven't looked into it in detail. It could be that they don't rock the boat during the bull cycle or perhaps they just want more time to review it all.

Edit: this article explains things a bit further https://www.coindesk.com/bitcoin-miners-developers-narrow-down-how-taproot-will-be-activated

@Coindesk
JUST IN: #Bitcoin 's biggest upgrade in years, Taproot, has started the activation process. If enough miners signal support before August 11, it will be online in November. @TheBlueMatt @benthecarman @bitentrepreneur

#Bitcoin  Taproot activation has started!

If 90% of blocks mined within the next difficulty period, signal for the update, (or another period before August 11th) Taproot "locks in" for November this year.

I think this will be a fantastic upgrade, but I certainly don't expect it to happen this round. Though I do hope to see at least a little signaling, nothing yet.

On another note, fees back down again.

Bait-n-switch right on cue, just like 2017 all over again.

Yep, I'm seeing the same shit. Irritating.

Getting pretty tired of this Bitcoin going essentially sideways for weeks on end while all the other shitcoins go up for no apparent reason. I mean shit look at all the large investors and institutions rushing out there to buy binance coin, what a stampede. /sarc

Waiting is the hardest part.

Feeling impatient & bored myself. I have a sell strategy which to sell X amount of bitcoin every $2,500 price rise, all the way up to $200,000. I’ve only sold 6 bitcoin in this bull run so far (up to the ATH).

Much more exciting times to come in 2021 but I am bored too.

Much smarter people than me think we’ll be bouncing around in a sideways trading range between $50,000 & $75,000 until the end of summer so more patience required unfortunately.

Moon confirmed Q4 of 2021 though.

I guess if we moon after the summer it is all worth it, but the waiting sucks.

It really reminds me of 2013. Big move, lots of excitement, pause for 6 months and lots of excitement again. The pause didn't seem to suck as much back then though, probably because I wasn't checking the charts constantly I guess. I really need to stop doing that, just check once a day or something.

This Tesla's liquidity test sell of course a cover-up for turning Q1 to profit for Tesla. But it may have a positive long term impact on the mass adoption among the institutions. Some of them are still hesitant because of the fears of liquidity issues. Even Musk at first raised a doubt about that. And of course, SEC denied ETF's mostly because of the low liquidity of the US exchanges, which makes Bitcoin volatile and susceptible to manipulations. It is like a pop quiz in school. Now everyone has a proof that the liquidity is there and every institution may sell big amounts with a little discount. So, this is another victory on the way to the first ETF's approvals later this year.

But for me at least, there is another major reason for all what happened in the last 6-7 months. In the years of bear market I sometimes expressed regrets about these endless barts caused by the owners and close friends of Bitmex. I remember one post, when I said that the price would had reached 100K in no time if Bitmex didn't exist. I was opposed by r0ach, who claimed that prices above 10K are not sustainable because of the miners profits getting too high. Of course, no need to explain to the moron the elementary things. Coincedence or not, but on that very day, when CFTC accused Bitmex, the barts suddenly stopped. And since then I can't find evidence of derivate manipulation. As a consequence, Bitcoin has become less volatile which is quite appealing for the institutions are billionaires. I will go even further and say that Bitcoin won the war with the derivate manipulations and all these round numbers 100K, 1mil, etc. are just a matter of when, not if. In particular, one day the US government will decide to build and maintain a Bitcoin reserve, followed by governments and financial institutions worldwide. Just imagine that - almost everyone will prefer to receive their salaries in Bitcoin and people like mindrust will realize how big their mistake was. For how long peeps like that will keep refusing to use BTC in credit cards, paypal, amazon, etc.? One - two years max. And imagine mindrust buying satoshis at price around 1mil to be able to buy a vacuum cleaner on amazon? That will hurt a lot!

tl;dr. In case there are still peeps who plan to exit with most of their stash, a word of warning: It is better to sustain a fiat/BTC percentage and never exceed it. For some it is 1/99, for others 33/67 or even 50/50. But everything above 75/25 may and will turn into a disaster. Of course, the ratio is individual and it depends on the age and the plans. For peeps still far from a retirement 0/100 is not bad at all  Wink

Nice post. I myself we be selling zero to very little. I was once upon a time going to sell up to 30%, but that has now dropped down to say no more than 10% and even that is pushing it and would require a parabolic move before the sale. With the world we are going into my decendants will need every one of the bitcoin I can hold onto.

RUMOUR: Facebook will annouce they hold #Bitcoin  on their books when they release their quarterly results after trading closes tomorrow

https://twitter.com/alistairmilne/status/1386953429814333441?s=21

We'll see.

But if true that would be slightly annoying. Having someone like Zuckerberg do well out of Bitcoin would kind of upset me, the guy is a real piece of shit afterall. However, that's the good thing about Bitcoin, it is open to everyone, no matter what.

Craig Wright, Calvin Ayre... what a bunch of scumbags.

I've never really been a rich person in my entire life, except, perhaps, in the last year, due to Bitcoin's recent price appreciation, which has given me a taste of how it feels to be "well off". Even then, I'm nowhere near the wealth that these guys have. What more do they want? Their future is completely secured, they can sustain their lavish lifestyles forever. Why do they keep fighting Bitcoin? Is it some sort of bad wiring in their brains, or is it a sickness of the rich?

In any case, I hope justice is served and they end up where they belong.

Sociopaths my friend. Most of the rich "successful" types, along with the ruling class, have got there by their sociopathic abilities. This is the norm in human history of course and you could probably put a fair portion where humanity has got to so far down to these types as well.

Off topic:

I’m sure you’re all aware of Faketoshi attempting to take Cøbra to court for ‘copyright infringement’  Roll Eyes
I made a thread, if anybody wants to donate towards Cøbra’s legal costs then his bitcoin address is listed in the OP. Feel free to verify it.

Cøbra is aware of the thread & has actually posted in there.

Hopefully Faketoshi is behind bars soon.

Honestly, I would prefer Calvin be behind bars. Faketoshi deserves it for being a scamming prick but Calvin is a real piece of shit.

Can't we just stay above 50k for fuck sake. I mean I don't think we will be breaking out to new ATH for a couple months but this 40s thing just seems downright depressing.

My 1 year ago self would be laughing at that comment mind you but here I am still complaining, lol.

See what I mean?

Peeps complain, even though they know we be in a good place.

Go figure, ur lil selfies?

Everyone loves a good whinge. Be it your job, parents, wife, or bitcoin a whinge is there for you.

If us normal folk didn’t whinge, all the world's problems would probably be solved by now and how fucking boring would that be?
