Hey, guys, so I was thinking a bit and have a couple of ideas related to promotion of Particle coin...

* are we trying to get to new CoinMarket.io exchange? We should really go to pre-poll thread where they are asking for traiding pair suggestions and nicely ask for PRT/LTC PRT/BTC. And after that we vote. And then - new exchange! Yay!

* since there were a couple of generous giveaways here in the thread, so maybe someone with some coins to spare could do a public giveaway in a separate thread? Maybe that's been done before, sorry, but I haven't checked. Public giveaways usually generate more hype and "recruit" new interested people.

* so I am making a simple altcoin gambling website (altsino.com) and one crazy idea just hit me. For every new user system creates his PRT wallet automatically and... adds some amount of coins to it. Of course, this can be easily abused, so those funds will have to be only spendable in games and not withdrawable right away. This idea will require a bit of investment, so only future will tell if it will actually be feasible.

Okay, guys... So I got a couple DGB from the faucet... And then I bought some from cryptokopen.eu...  And then I traded a bit of BTC for even more in CoinMarket.io.

Am I now qualified to join you on your journey? Smiley

[WANTED] Testers

I'm developing a gambling website and I desperately need people who could test it and give feedback, so I would know if I'm going in the right direction. Especially, since I'm not going the common way and, instead of coinflip/dice/casino games, trying to think of something of my own.

It would be awesome if any of you could register/login/play around with "Lucky9" game and send me some feedback/opinions. I'd be super thankful for that! It's a bit of the problem, that "Lucky9" needs more users to play it to be alive (usually 9 bets ends the round, that could be increased or decreased), so I think I'm going to add a timer (x minutes after first bet to end the round, if bet count < y, players get refunded) to fight that.

Site is currently running with test coin "ABC", you can generate more funds by going to your "wallets" page.

http://altsino.com/

I still have a bit work to do, maybe think of another game and add it and then I'm going to launch it with Particle coins at first (maybe some others later). Assuming any of you will actually like it, since what's the point otherwise Smiley

How long is a round?

Currently, the round ends when it reaches "Bets in round", which depends on table. I assume (probably wrong) that if there would be enough active players 9 bets would fill in pretty fast. Alternative to that would be, as I've mentioned before, set a time limit to a round and refund players if there's not enough bets at the end of it. This of course has another drawback - if there aren't enough players, all is going to happen be a couple of people betting and getting refunded again and again.

What about a computer generated player(s), but if the computer wins it takes nothing (or a very small percentage) and the pool goes towards the next game?

That might work. Currently website bets on 0, in case o winning takes a defined percent from bank and moves what's left to another round. I think a version where you have only 3 numbers to choose (Lucky3) would be much faster moving. Also it would make much more sense to hide player bets of the running round.

(Release new wallet)+(adding prt to market cap)+ (halving of block reward)= PRT price going to the sky Wink price easy can be  0.000003 btc/prt  in next few day .  Really love PRT !

No ABE Explorer = No Coinmarketcap

Why this isn't a priority is beyond me. Someone needs to make a bounty for this.
Snotty already made solution for this and put in request.

Nope, I'm pretty sure it wasn't me Smiley

Quick update.

Yesterday I rewrite entire GUI layer for new wallet and get rid of external dependency, build custom controls.  Only one minor annoying thing is support resizing form across platform without hooking wndprc, but I just thought of solution.  In process of rewrite I ditch tab control, because only way on windows to get flat look is to do ownerdraw control and hook into native stuff that doesn't work on mono.  So, now open tabs/apps are vertical list of tiles on left.  Its nice.  Now that message bus is all up and working, tweaking GUI will be easy, so we get this out door and then can improve based on community feedback.

Other thing I work on today is when you open apps, I keep buffer of controls so you can switch between.  And there is Close app button, but when you close it closes from screen but is still on in background, need to dereference.  Otherwise thing like the forum stay running in background.

Other thing also for today is making sure clean shutdown when close, and easy mining UI.

Also got the "monitor" working, so you can watch all messages flying across message buses and watch output from particled and know its working.  Going to add a activity indicator like blinking green light in status bar as way to know its "alive".

So, preview will come out later tonight.  There will still be some things to finish, like pop-up notification in icon in system tray, etc. but at least we can get feedback.  I hope everyone like.

Sounds awesome, can't wait!

[ANN] Particle Faucet goes LIVE!

It seems like a good weekend to get some free Particle coins before they get too valuable to share! It took me a bit longer than expected and I'm still not sure, if everything is completely finished, but I present my little project to your harsh judgement:

--> Particle Faucet <--

Features:

  • Sends out Particle coins (max 11 for now)
  • Looks okay ant tidy (not a designer)
  • Most awesome donors can use their transaction ID to add their links to dedicated ad space
  • All donated coins are moved to distribution wallet *

* donor can choose to reserve a small portion of donation to my coffee fund

Possible issues:

  • Donation can take a bit of time to reach the distribution wallet (2-3mins)
  • Also it takes a similar time for transaction ID to start being usable
  • Link for a donation might look good on paper, but only time will tell if it's a viable incentive for donors
  • Copying transaction ID from Particle wallet adds "-000" to the end of ID. I don't know what's the use of that, but it makes an ID invalid

So, please, try it out and tell me what you think, what doesn't work the way it suppose to work, what could be improved and, finally, if you have spare coins - spread them out by donating!

Partice Faucet Donation Address: Pf93EVjexrGf2XAou7MKPxQRdWnirhZwFP

P.s. matauc12 was awesome enough to send me 2k PRT, so as promised they all and  ~500 of my own coins are already in the faucet!
P.p.s. my coffee fund (PTR): Pi9rVhagGBMYyJPBisRNDF5gpLkM2B3QT9

Output from my miners will go to the donation address [for a few hours at least]   Grin

One last block of 1000PRT coming then i'm done [for now!] Grin

Awesome, thank you! Now all we need is more people using faucet and getting hooked to lovely Particles Smiley

Faucet is great idea!  Maybe simple solution is just put personal PRT address next to faucet donation address?  Sure some people would then tip you.  You need to have anti-botting/anti-abuse code, check ip / user agent / etc. for protect against people create many addresses switch IP and collect over and over.  Captcha is ok but there are services with people sit and solve captcha, run through bot maker script, Magic Submitter, etc. although who know if someone that desparate for faucet ;-)  Also if I were build I would keep donation wallet not on server, and trickle feed as need.  Just some thought.

Thanks, I will probably add my PRT address for donations, since it looks like the best solution for now! And even more thanks for security advice - I'll do what I can to use it wisely. Hopefully tommorow I'll be able to show my faucet to public Smiley

I actually was just thinking about creating a faucet. I am not a dev, so i wasn't sure on where i should start though i have been busy with other things and haven't had time to dig into figuring out how i'd create one(most likely would learn PHP or something).

What are you using to create your faucet?

I can't answer all your questions as some of them are ones that i have been trying to answer myself.

Is it ethical to transfer a percent of donations to own wallet (to cover server costs, a glass of beer, etc) or such things should be avoided at all cost? I'm not sure what's the general opinion on that is.
I personally think its unethical to transfer a portion of donations to your own wallet to cover costs, then again you then would have to substitute it with ads to make up the revenue(i personally hate ad filled faucets as this creates the image of shit). I think there has to be a way around it, and maybe it would be best to do this via having ads on the page, but also making it clear that the faucet will not continue to distribute funds without donations. Heavy marketing of your faucet is how you'd have to keep yourself alive without ads flooding the page.

Thank you for answering! Your opinion about donation "stealing" (that's a bit harsh) makes perfect sense. Since, I definitely do not want to fill my website with ads, I'll have to think of someting else. It is possible that I'll leave this faucet as it is and use my gained knowledge to make a more profit-oriented project Smiley

For this faucet I've used PHP/MySQL, since I have most experience with them. I used this Doge Faucet code as an example and starting point and, after finally starting daemon in a VPS, Bitcoin API calls list to play around.

Hello, everyone,

so today I've decided to play around and experiment a bit with particle daemon, which was was pretty fun and I've learned a lot. And I've also accidently almost made a Particle faucet, because I had a bit PTR for testing purposes and I really like this coin.

But since I'm kind of new, I have some questions in my head, which I'd love to clear out before revealing URL of said faucet.

* What minimum/maximum amount of coins fauced should give away? Should I use a percent of total amount in the pool to calculate the maximum or fix it at some value?
* Is there any ways I could add incentive for donating? (I have some things in my mind, but maybe there are more)
* Is it ethical to transfer a percent of donations to own wallet (to cover server costs, a glass of beer, etc) or such things should be avoided at all cost? I'm not sure what's the general opinion on that is.
* What security measures, which are not obvious, can and should I take?
* (edit) is there any additional features you'd like to see in a faucet? maybe some ways to get more/less random coins?

I'd love to hear your answers and I'm really excited about it, since, while it's a simple and small thing, it's my first own crypto related project!
