Like Xosihc said, the body is dead but is still warm.

Why inhabit a dead body, when you can create your own?

Remember, history repeats itself.

What the hell are you talking about... How is this coin dead? I don't get it. The idea never died, assuming new owners will do their job right. Celebrity endorsement is good for publicity, but not a requirement for a project to live on. The actions are most important. Coins haven't gone anywhere, just changed owners, maybe to the less dump-happy ones.

The only thing that I really don't like - overreaction of TakeiCoin devs, since the dump could've been less dramatic with quick updates and better damage control (Takei is out, we're changing name, everything is fine). I know I would've bought in much more if I'd knew SOMETHING and wouldn't have to watch twitter and website going offline. Anyway, haven't sold anything. We'll see how it goes.

The reason for the pull wasn't Takei, it was Edie. We wanted to make sure we were compliant 100% with their requests at the time. We were scared out of our minds and we hope you can understand why. Did NOT see this coming at all.

Well, I get the panic mode, I would probably shit my pants if I feel a legal team of huge proportions going after me. Still, I don't think that they did not give any time to prepare and inform community at all. It all happened so fast.

Also html page with a single sentence update informing to wait for updates would've been better than a blank page too. I bet some people really panicked after Twitter/Website went down (I know I did, but it was too late to sell and I was like "oh well, dump virginity taken"). For a otherwise well communicating team, that was hell of a miscommunication. I'm not assuming that anything was intentional, just pointing out the mistakes.

Do you guys have a logo?

We are working on that as we speak.
This is 1 idea we have: http://postimg.org/image/o828p3q87/2f08e930/
We have this idea: http://postimg.org/image/asfpuhuu1/3ba1edad/
We aren't as excited about #2 - although we do like the geometric figure inside the circle on #2

I really like simplicity and colors of current logo in twitter, but, I guess, not everyone is fond of LGBT flag.

Guys, seriously, who controls Facebook page and Twitter? Nobody knows?
The guy posted in the thread at some point.  He isn't an active poster in this thread. I believe he wanted to get involved and then dropped out. Lack of commitment.

And yet, all the images/news posted in this thread gets to the social media. Pretty quickly too. I think more people should have control over such accounts. I would just like to update graphics of those pages... Will try to contact directly.

Paddings, margins, positioning ;> Fonts, too. UI design stuff. I'd love to help with UI programming, but I have a very little experience with cpp (if i'm correct), so I can only talk about how things should look and work.

http://coindrain.com/prt/mockup/
It is .NET and C#, and is impossible to make exact without jumping through many hoops due to nature of Windows.Forms, without spending inordinate amount of time trying to write hacks/tweaks - which then may break cross-platform on Mono.

Another way to put it - it's not like there is just screen and elements placed directly on it.  These are all nested hierarchies of controls some that are dynamically created at runtime.  I use FlowLayoutPanel and set paddings/margins based on what is in mockup, but it doesn't turn out as exact match.

Now if it is Windows only, I could make it exact much easier using newer technology.

Basically it is law of diminishing returns.

I understand the frustration, but that's something that has to be done for UI to look profesional and clean. Maybe not a priority, but still a very important thing. It's more important than icons and other graphical jazz.

87  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★★ DigiByte ★★ [DGB] DigiShield v2.0 Now Live ✈ Mandatory Update ✔ on: March 09, 2014, 03:40:33 PM

2) Transactional Currency:With 21 billion coins, DigiByte will primarily become a worldwide currency traded for goods & services, and not a volatile speculative commodity like Bitcoin. DigiByte has a natural ratio of 1BTC:1000DGB to Bitcoin. This means that if Bitcoin is worth $1,000 DigiByte should be worth $1 -$10. A Perfect price for buying goods & services. No one likes to look in their wallet and see that they have 0.001 coins; 1,000 DigiBytes are much more appealing.

DigiRoadMap 2014

Community Reward Bounties
• Promotional Video – 1 Million DigiByte Reward

• Digiman Marketing Images – Take the existing DigiMan and put him in several other poses. 500,000 DGB

• How To Guides – Short concise professional guides explaining how to do various tasks related to DigiByte. 25,000 DGB per guide.

This is ridiculous, if you first state that DigiByte should be worth between 1$ and $10 and then reward DGB 1,000,000 for a Promotional Video you are effectively rewarding a minimal $1,000,000 for one to create a sub 30seconds video.. the reward should be DGB 1000 at most!

And that's why, my friends, you sometimes have to use fiat. Or atleast BTC. Not money with a "future value".

This lack of public information was a result of misunderstandings between PR people.

So I'm really curious how long those misundersandings between PR people will continue? I think those, of them, who suggested that the best way to resolve 3-week technical problems is to keep being silent, should be already slaughtered as an offering to the gods of PR.

Unfortunately we are going to go away from TAKE ACTION - while we like the sound of it. Takeaction.com and takeactioncoin.com are both taken. Also doing a google search for take action can bring up too many results already. We are trying to go with a name that was really otherwise unused. We want it to be short, easy to remember, and have almost a name to it. We really like Takei actually because of the randomness. Our fundraising project was going to be called The Takei Project.

So now we are looking for a name that sounds similar but fits the mold of TAK (since that's what it is coded/traded under). Takie or Tako are two that we like but Takie might sound/look too much like tacky and Tako really sounds too much like Taco. We have also thought of just going with Takcoin because its short and sweet.

Finally we wanted a name that could be linked to a mascot of our brand. Being that we want to focus on animal rights we are planning on having some sort of animal be the face of the project. The name was also going to tie into the coin (so for example our mascot was going to be named Takei). This ties back to our idea of having an e-commerce store, where we can sell merchandise tied into our mascot/brand image that will also raise money for charity.

So all this is being considered with naming the coin. Hopefully that gives you a better view of where we are coming from.

That's actually a reasonable explanation why Take Action is not as good name as it sounds. I will restrain myself from pushing it further. Takea/TakeA Coin still sounds good, thou.

And for the mascot - simply TakTak Smiley

Was that supposed to answer something? I know the coin will go on. I'm asking if the project was handed over or not. It was mentioned that the coin may have new devs. Did that happen or is the original dev still behind the coin

I am part of the team that is buying the coin. Over the next few days/weeks we are going to be:

- changing the name. We are making this decision over the next 24 hours. We are keeping the ticker TAK but as part of the agreement we need to change the name to something other than Takeicoin. Takcoin or Takiecoin or Takocoin are among the top three choices.
- change the website. We are going to be investing a serious amount of effort into making a top of the line website for the coin/project. We will have an e-commerce store tied into the website that will be donating $.25 for every $1 spent to an animal organization of the buyer's choice.
- the coin is going to keep the philanthropic mindset the original team had in mind - the new team will be focusing on animal specific charitable organizations.
- from a technical standpoint - the coin will continue to roll forward as TAK. New wallets and an updated website are to be ready by April.

Good things are to come and we are open to feedback from the community.

I can't believe you're ignoring the Take Action Coin suggested by someone before. It's an awesome name in any way and TakeACoin has a nice second meaning Smiley

Take a Coin sounds good but TAKE ACTION is way better... Take a look at the humane society, we can do something and help the cause too.

TAKE ACTION COIN...... That has way more branding power and way better keyword

"Take action for animals! ... to shut down the plant."

http://www.humanesociety.org/action/#.Uxx9dHnXnFI

I just played with words a little bit. It's the same name, just written in a different way. To summarize:

* Take Action Coin - sounds strong and is perfect to charity coin
* Shortening TakeA sounds almost the same as Takei (the beauty of english language)
* Shortening TakeACoin, while meaning the same Take Action Coin, could be used for marketing purposes, still sounds charitable, perfect name for faucet too

Takcoin, Takiecoin, Takocoin all sound bland and meaningless, IMHO.

On it's face, it looks like the developers and others knew George Takei was not on-board with the project prior to the coin going to Cryptsy. A lot of people, me included, lost money on that move which wouldn't have happened if the announcement was made a few hours earlier.

The aggressive paid voting Cryptsy campaign and Sunday announcement carrot appears to have been a total setup. Watching the trading after the deletion of twitter and facebook accounts and the takeicoin website it appeared as though insiders were there buying up cheap coins with the knowledge that there was going to be a re-branding.

With that said, I picked up all the main domains for the names that are considered for the re-branding. Offers can be emailed to suspect at takcoin.com.

What a nice way of doing bussiness.

Oh, moonmoon, we will have a lot of work to do - I see many misalignments Wink But great job so far!

I can help with android wallet development, but it will surely take time.
Don't worry about it, I've got it covered, but will need someone who wants to publish it.  Already had one person volunteer.

Why not create a separate account for all PRT related Android apps? Otherwise, unless the owner gives an app specific permissions to the developer for easier updating and responding to reviews, it will be a mess.

My vote still goes for TakeA as in Take Action, since it's simple but powerful and doesn't have words like "project" or "initiative" or "takei".

TAK will have an extremely important update on Sunday - To Be Continued...

So what was behind that important update? Show your cards, please!

I'm in the middle of talking about buying everything right now.

If we can agree on a price, we will take over the project.

But are you a nice person and will you take good care of us? Smiley

If this was a pump and dump it surely was the worst one in history because I lost about $40,000

Oh, wow. Well, if you haven't sold all your TAK, that'd be one more reason to continue. And if you did, that'd be a reason to buy in now and go upwards Wink

Hey guys while I appreciate the sentiment the bad air will follow me around forever. That's what happens in crypto, something goes wrong and you get demonized. Everyone cries scam, etc.

The coin would have a better chance being passed to another dev. It will always follow me.

Any opinion on the mintpal dump that dropped TAK to 30 satoshi a short while before you announced the bad news?

I might be devil's advocate here, but who wouldn't dump their coin if they'd think that they have to shut down it..?

lol i think his point is, who the fuck knew about it but the dev. and insiders he told so they could dump before the general population.
on that note, its probably just a ploy and well be at 400 satoshi tomorow ha

Well, the suspect #1 is, obviously, George Takei.
