Hey GambleX- I think you are misleading people by claiming "Gamblex has added NXT to our exchange..."
GambleX does not have an exchange, just a website claiming there will be an exchange.
Also, please use a smaller font; When only 14 words fit on a line, your font size is too big.
EDIT: And by misleading people I mean misleading potential investors which is a defined common law violation.

I read your post mr_random. I have been saying the same thing for 800 pages of this thread. Still atomic-trade is not up and running. Vault of Satoshi is no longer serving U.S. customers. Coinpayments.net is closing down. Screw these third party exchanges. Nxt needs its own, or better yet a bunch of them. Seeking solutions to the BTC before NXT conundrum. Here it is in NON-Greek. NXT needs a USDollar to NXT exchange preferably in New York. NXT does not need listed on another exchange that must first have funds pass through BTC before NXT.
The Chinese can buy NXT directly with Yuan at bter, Americans or anyone with dollars cannot buy NXT without first buying BTC.
I take it you didn't read beyond the first paragraph in my post where I talk about NXT to USD exchanges needed. The problem with having a "standalone" NXT to USD exchange is building up a customer base. Bitstamp has a freaking enormous customer base. If we got on Bitstamp I bet our market cap would overtake Litecoin and head to 1 billion dollars. No joke. Ripple is where it is today thanks to Bitstamp. But we also have btc-e. That would bring lots of fresh blood into the game if we could get on there. Kraken is also growing nicely but that is more for Euro to NXT exchange at the moment. Don't get me wrong, a brand new NXT to USD exchange is a good thing to have, but the effect that would have on NXT's demand would be very gradual, could take a year to build up customers etc. We should pursue that in parallel with getting NXT on the bigger exchanges eg Bitstamp, BTC-e, Kraken, Huobi.

I disagree that the effect on NXT demand would be gradual with the addition of a direct USD to NXT exchange. Nxt has solved the dreaded transaction malleability problem through the use of GUIDs in addition to TXIDs.
With BTC and all of its delays and long block generation time out of the picture, the increase in NXT demand should be explosive.
I do HIGHLY agree that we should pursue both options in parallel. But, at the moment there is no Direct USD to NXT exchange and no plans for one.
This is why I have asked cryptolawyer to ballpark a legal/regulatory cost to get said Direct USD to NXT exchange operating in New York.

lexxus sent me a really good idea about having a fiat/NXT escrow process using OKpay API (or equivalent) to monitor external payments were made before releasing NXT. I think legally, the fiat was just sent via OKPay from one user to another, so providing the escrow service should have much lower legal exposure I havent worked out the details of actually doing this, plus wont have time for it for a while, but if somebody wants to investigate/help on the OKpay side, PM me

Well forgetting for a second that no costs have been mentioned by Lawksy regarding the NY "bitlicences", you have to remember the upcoming New York regulation only applies to businesses serving New York citizens. If a New York based business serves customers in the other states of america, they will need the conventional money transmission licenses for those states if they want to do it by the book (estimates for these range from hundreds of thousands into the millions to cover every state and will take 1 year+ to get since you apply individually for them to each state and each state has their own requirements and costs. I believe 2 states don't need such licenses). It's taken Kraken millions in funding to get their platform where they are today and they are still not operating in the US much. But they are the most legally compliant exchange I know of.

now you should have nodeminer ./nodeminer <NXTacct> <NXTpassphrase>
James
if that phrase has whitespace in it, would that work as it should? I think you can have a space for the password, but you would need to put it in like: "passphrase with space" I started nodeminer, but i see error: NEW block.(7368715435091183328) vs lastblock.() 0: GOOD PEER.0 (0 0) 162.217.203.70 state.1 blacklist.false share.true announce.162.217.203.70 downloaded.105743397 uploaded.17697 1: GOOD PEER.1 (0 0) 162.217.204.16 state.1 blacklist.false share.true announce.162.217.204.16 downloaded.79306970 uploaded.12646 2: GOOD PEER.2 (0 0) 209.126.73.74 state.1 blacklist.false share.true announce.209.126.73.74 downloaded.92518899 uploaded.14604 3: GOOD PEER.3 (0 0) 209.126.72.58 state.1 blacklist.false share.true announce.209.126.72.58 downloaded.118949101 uploaded.15462 4: GOOD PEER.4 (0 0) 162.217.203.56 state.1 blacklist.false share.true announce.162.217.203.56 downloaded.13223120 uploaded.6213 5: GOOD PEER.5 (0 0) 209.126.73.78 state.1 blacklist.false share.true announce.209.126.73.78 downloaded.66086157 uploaded.10877 6: GOOD PEER.6 (0 0) 209.126.71.144 state.1 blacklist.false share.true announce.209.126.71.144 downloaded.66085035 uploaded.11308 7: GOOD PEER.7 (0 0) 209.126.73.166 state.1 blacklist.false share.true announce.209.126.73.166 downloaded.66086743 uploaded.10446 8: GOOD PEER.8 (0 0) 209.126.71.128 state.1 blacklist.false share.true announce.209.126.71.128 downloaded.26437710 uploaded.7767 9: GOOD PEER.9 (0 0) 178.162.198.111 state.1 blacklist.false share.true announce.bug.airdns.org downloaded.118979314 uploaded.18612 10: GOOD PEER.10 (0 0) 162.217.203.160 state.1 blacklist.false share.true announce.162.217.203.160 downloaded.52875747 uploaded.7978 11: GOOD PEER.11 (0 0) 162.217.202.168 state.1 blacklist.false share.true announce.162.217.202.168 downloaded.39659183 uploaded.6717 12: GOOD PEER.12 (0 0) 83.212.110.150 state.1 blacklist.false share.true announce.83.212.110.150 downloaded.59280030 uploaded.8231 13: GOOD PEER.13 (0 0) 209.126.74.118 state.1 blacklist.false share.true announce.209.126.74.118 downloaded.92520753 uploaded.10238 14: GOOD PEER.14 (0 0) 162.217.204.134 state.1 blacklist.false share.true announce.162.217.204.134 downloaded.39660839 uploaded.6373 15: GOOD PEER.15 (0 0) 209.126.71.148 state.1 blacklist.false share.true announce.209.126.71.148 downloaded.79302719 uploaded.9889 16: GOOD PEER.16 (0 0) 162.217.203.154 state.1 blacklist.false share.true announce.162.217.203.154 downloaded.92522149 uploaded.10689 17: GOOD PEER.17 (0 0) 209.126.74.122 state.1 blacklist.false share.true announce.209.126.74.122 downloaded.118954246 uploaded.13614 18: GOOD PEER.18 (0 0) 162.217.203.16 state.1 blacklist.false share.true announce.162.217.203.16 downloaded.52871812 uploaded.6416 19: GOOD PEER.19 (0 0) 209.126.74.16 state.1 blacklist.false share.true announce.209.126.74.16 downloaded.92516901 uploaded.9806 numactivepeers.20 src.0 -> dest.0 variant.0 port.3005 NXT.(10470275471661115278) connect() failed: Connection refused connection variant.0 srcgateway.0 -> destgateway.0 failure error submitting results what i need to do?

I keep hearing people saying that this coin has a decentralized exchange. Why are people trying to get it on the major exchanges then? Also, aren't most of the coins in the hands of the initial investors? So one would have to purchase this at a really inflated rate to get their hands on some coin?
