Is Digital Ocean credit valid for limited time only (60 days or something)?
2  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Crypto goes to Geocaching on: December 08, 2020, 02:26:37 PM
I don't think this would ever go mainstream.

I played Ingress for a few years.   There were location spoofers everywhere.  Niantic could catch them by movement anomalies (move >10m in a second in a wooded area) but if you don't need to keep your game open all the time and just start it after you spoof your location they can't detect that.   Crypto investors would not stick around long.

There is network of NFC/ bluetooth location markers, at least in Poland, it's used to find missing luggage etc.
Plus you could think of some kind "Proof of visiting location", so other users have to confirm that

EDIT: XYO has Proof of Location  Smiley

Don't fully depend on cryptos, do some real job.

Agreed. With real job you have a stable money income regardless of the market`s condition.
Consider Crypto your second half-time job or as a hobby that you can invest your main income into.
For that matter, I`d keep some portion of my fiat income just in case - if the economy of your country is stable, this is a good back-up plan.

It's not that easy as I have serious health issues and even simple activities are difficult for me - here's my topic on that matter: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5047033
And that's only part of my problems, maybe someday I'll make a movie about my life  Shocked
7  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Guide] How to Enable 2FA using Google Authenticator! on: October 16, 2018, 09:52:05 PM
But 2FA job is to secure you account against malware, it doesn't protect from hacks etc. contrary to what many people believe.
8  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: How 999dice.com is stealing your coins, and exactly why you won't believe me on: October 16, 2018, 09:49:44 PM
If you know site that's cheating you should post it in scam accusation.

I don't know if 999dice is cheating this way, but I think even if they would you could avoid by setting client seed after viewing server seed's hash.

And for some time you don't need to click a button every time to see server seed hash, it's enough to open provably fair tab once.
9  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is there any hope for me? Sold too early + health problems on: October 16, 2018, 09:42:23 PM
Feel bad for you if health insurance can't cover most of your expenses.

Do you have some alternative activity that you do to reduce your disease effect? like joining recreational activities, etc?

I live in country where we have "free" healthcare, the problem is that you get 1/10 of needed treatments and there are long queues etc. and I'm not strong enough to wait in queues etc.

Yeah, I even bought a device that could help me to some extent but various reasons I'm not using it, it's pretty complicated to set-up and I'm very upset after selling my crypto too early so it's difficult for me to do anything.

You should post/move this topic in the Project Development discussion as you are looking for other participants/members in your website. Also by moving the topic you must discuss the website itself on what are you planning to post or what you are planning to do in order for you to catch the attention of some people. 1000 people is a lot to ask for and I wonder how each and everyone of you will communicate to each other and personally I don't think you can handle it on your own so maybe try to start on a small team first.

It should be in Off-topic, I made mistake when choosing category.
1000 is number of users I would like to have, not number of people I'm looking to work with me, I'll probably post in the board you mentioned when I'll have basic version up and running.

what is the gain of using a 3rd party site to read here?  Shocked

More features, easier to use etc.
Here is topic about bitcointa.lk which was one of such sites, now it's defunct: Bitcointa.lk, the Bitcointalk community with a 2014 forum software.
I'm not sure if you know, but this forum was going to be upgraded, there were some funds collected for this idea but it never happened for some reason.
11  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: CHANGELLY - Illegal exchanger from RUSSIA with FAKE team on: October 16, 2018, 09:28:02 PM
AFAIK such rules in their terms are irrelevant, you can sue them wherever they conduct business and you can surely sue them in place where they're psychically located (PO box/ virtual office doesn't count as psychical location). Such rules are put in T&Cs to scare people away from suing.
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin should NOT determine the market on: October 16, 2018, 09:23:34 PM
Bitcoin dominance will last for more than 10 years as I think. BTC is too popular to give its leadership to some other altcoins. Naturally, this crypto will continue to control the market.

That's very bold statement.
All it's needed is one hack/ bug to bring any cryptocurrency to its knees. Not even mentioning other coins constantly trying to dethrone the king BTC.
13  Other / Off-topic / Re: Introducing the 310 BTC Bitcoin Challenge on: October 16, 2018, 09:12:44 PM
I am still trying to solve 0,31 and also 310 for interest. Hope not going crazy soon.

Is solution for 310 posted somewhere?
I'm curious, but not curious enough to search for it  Grin

15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin connected to our banks!!! on: October 16, 2018, 09:02:18 PM
Banks can't work with bitcoin, search "fractional reserve". Banks may offer some Bitcoin services in future but it won't replace fiat services nor it will be possible to seamlessly juggle/ exchange between bitcoin and fiat.
What are you talking about, it would essentially be a shapeshift style thing where you enter the amount of use it buys that much off an exchange and sends it to the address you entered. Totally possible.

I'm talking about loans, credit cards etc., it wouldn't be profitable for banks to offer bitcoin loans, look at payday loans - banks would have to make their fees that high in case of bitcoin loans because they wouldn't be able to just write off unpaid loan just like they do (to some extent) with fiat loans.

17  Other / Off-topic / Re: How many of your family members have ever used Bitcoin? on: October 15, 2018, 06:04:14 PM
Only two, me and my brother, but his all his usage was helping me as I didn't have bank account and needed help to buy bitcoins.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Help me to take decision. on: October 15, 2018, 06:02:11 PM
You can always earn invested money somehow if things go wrong (of course depends how much you're going to invest).
If your selected coin go to the moon it won't be as easy to earn that many you could buy at the early stages, and even if you manage to get them you will be missing initial profit.
So my advice would be buy, but it's just sort of general crypto advice.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Are you surprised at the price of ETH? on: October 15, 2018, 05:53:09 PM
Not really, even Vitalik Buterin said Ethereum is overpriced.
I'm more surprised that from 4 moves I did with my ETH all were wrong  Angry
