101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why everyone should support the Petro, the venezuelan dictator-backed crypto on: October 08, 2018, 07:44:38 PM
Wait, ICO?
I read it was already over and I don't know any markets where you can trade it.
I was interested in this coin but I couldn't understand how can you buy it. Maybe my poor health and family issues played a role.
Where you can buy it?
102  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How many hours a day are you spending on online gambling? on: October 08, 2018, 07:40:51 PM
When I was gambling it would be 3-4 hours I think.
I think I would gamble more but I have health issues and can't sit in front of the computer for too long.
For your information: I was able to multiply my money x100 back then but it was only a test session so I started with something like $1, when few months later I tried exact same strategy I lost everything.
103  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will bitcoin reach 10k, if Bakkt etf gets approved? on: October 08, 2018, 07:34:49 PM
One rabbi will say “Yes”; another rabbi will say “No”.
I remember when BTC was about 3k people were panicking it'll be the end because when bitcoin derivatives or some other shit like this was going to start and nothing wrong happened, even contrary - it rose and rose.
If this make to national news then BTC will probably go up.
104  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Sort posts by merit spent on: October 08, 2018, 07:30:17 PM
There are 3rd party sites that you can use to read this board, but I'm not sure if any allows such sorting.

Cool thing would be a list of most merited post in las 24h/ week/ month so you wouldn't miss nothing important, I think this would be a lot easier to implement than sorting by merit.
105  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Currently Best Means of Offline Storage? on: October 08, 2018, 07:27:38 PM
Paper wallets also have one more problem, ink can fade away with time if paper is not stored in proper way and we have such case some time ago in this forum when user ask how to recover missing characters from paper wallet. So if we go in this direction to save our private keys it is much better to use some more durable materials like steel or plastic and engrave private keys in them.

As for ink fading away with time I think you can buy special, military grade ball pens and notebooks that should be a lot more durable.

Regarding hardware wallets you missed very important thing and that is backup of seed - in fact the only thing that we need if device is broken is to have seed and then it is easy to make recovery. However we are back to paper again since most users will write down seed on paper, so key thing is how to protect paper of all possible external influences and from thieves. Only way is to not use it at all and problem is solved, and to protect from thieves every users need to use their imagination.

This does bother me too. In my country it's very difficult to rent bank storage like you see in the movies, I've even read it's something you inherit - they're that scarce, and that would be good place to keep seed backup and generally backups.
One of the ideas I have is to encrypt the backup. You could use offline computer to burn encrypted copy to a disc or pendrive or even write down encrypted version of it.
106  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: When do you think Eth will break $2,000? on: October 08, 2018, 07:18:25 PM
I think Ethereum will reach a price of 2000$ around the beginning or middle of 2019. I made my conclusion based on technical analysis.

That's good to know, hope you're not wrong  Cool.

Oh, I forgot that I sold 90 percent of my ETH for mere pennies  Shocked
Ok, mid 2019 so there is some time left, maybe I'll be able to make some back.

107  Local / Polski / Re: Czemu nie nagradzamy sie Meritami? on: October 06, 2018, 04:01:51 PM

108  Other / Off-topic / Re: ✅✅ BlockchainMuffin.com - Website with CRYPTO MEMES ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ ✅✅ on: October 06, 2018, 02:15:25 PM
Are you creating these memes or are just stealing them and stamping with your own watermark?
Because I've seen some with 2 different watermarks  Huh
109  Other / Off-topic / Re: Beware scam site neocrypt.info on: October 06, 2018, 02:07:18 PM
Put it in scam accusation board.
Contact their hosting, police etc.
Mark their site as scam in Web of Trust and other similar services.
110  Economy / Digital goods / Re: (Update) Adwords $500 & $350 thrushold creating methods on: October 06, 2018, 01:38:41 PM
where is the proof of scam.

New accounts.
111  Economy / Goods / Re: Something Very Valuable! How much would it cost? on: October 06, 2018, 01:31:20 PM
It may cost a few years in prison or hefty fine in many countries as selling such things is prohibited, you're supposed to donate it to the country (this sucks and is really unfair).
112  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Where to get Monero now? on: October 06, 2018, 01:20:54 PM
It does apply to some extent, but helping to avoid KYC/ AML is just on another level, trust me, I studied law  Grin
113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency for charity on: October 06, 2018, 01:18:13 PM
As someone who has done a lot of charitable work internationally I am excited to see some new options for charitable giving.  Too many times donations are wasted needlessly on administrative costs or paying to bring in people to an area of need when there are capable people desperate to earn money in that same area.
The idea of using charity is good, but many charities in our world are just a cover for terrible things and use good intentions for their own selfish purposes. If your project gets a legitimate reason to exist, it will cause more confidence, because the use of the blockchain will open the opportunity to follow where and to whom assistance and support is provided.

Exactly, I was going to write same thing.
I can see Greenpeace job offers all the time - just panhandle enough people on the street and we'll pay you country nice $$$. So it's not just upper management, it's all rotten from the very bottom.
I'm all for helping others, but not that way.
I don't think most of the charities would switch to blockchain as all their transactions would be then visible. Accepting donations in crypto is another thing - they don't even have to put them in their books.

115  Economy / Reputation / Re: Program to check eth address connections in bounties on: October 06, 2018, 12:31:52 PM
1) Make the code open source.
2) Host it somewhere.

Am I wrong or are you asking him to give it away for free?
I see that preventing fraud may be beneficial for everyone involved, but you don't run those bounty campaigns for free, am I right?

If my assumption is wrong then sorry, I know open source != free, but many people don't know this.
116  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling sites with auto-play or a place where I can use script. on: October 06, 2018, 12:17:02 PM
I think that any bigger gambling sites offers some kind of API which you can utilise to make use of scripts/ bots.
For example 999dice has apis for .NET and Java and raw web API which you can use with any scripting language.
Warning: there are scam accusations for 999dice, be sure to verify every bet.
Just don't use it at all, not worth the risk imo.

I managed to x100 my money when testing a strategy, without verifying my bets.
They killer feature is that you can make up to 200 autobets server-side with them, so you can bet insanely fast. I don't know other site that offer such feature.
But yeah, for bigger stakes I would maybe look elsewhere.
117  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Where to get Monero now? on: October 06, 2018, 12:12:39 PM
Alternative option for people facing similar difficulties is to ask trusted forum members (for a small reward) if they are willing to do the conversion for you on the exchange they are verified/registered at. I'm quite sure that there are enough people here willing to help out in that regard.

OK, but there is another danger in such transaction - "Trusted forum members" may get into trouble if they offer such service to someone not that trusted who want to launder some bad money, this is especially dangerous with Monero and other anonymous coins.
118  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Where to get Monero now? on: October 05, 2018, 05:40:11 PM
Livecoin, Cryptopia, Poloniex, Bisq and so.

When you are looking an exchange listing a coin you can use coinmarketcap, select the coin, and then click on the market tab. it lists all the exchange with monero

For example for Monero https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/monero/#markets

That doesn't answer OP question, for example I'm 100% positive that Poloniex requires KYC so he need to send them his IDs etc. and he asked for a place when he can do buy without this bullshit. And it's difficult to find info on exchanges whenever they require KYC or not.
I can confirm Binance doesn't.

P.S. Stay away from HitBTC.

I second that opinion.
119  Other / Off-topic / Re: Have you ever been scammed? on: October 05, 2018, 05:05:09 PM
i've been scammed by lot of airdrops, so much time wasted and even some i had to send gas fee but never got listed

I don't think you can call this a scam, all investments are risky, it doesn't matter if you invest your money or your time.
Think about people who actually paid for those failed coins - they can feel scammed much more than you. And there is possibility that your post/ signature/ tweet lead them to invest in one in said coins.
120  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: HitBTC a scam?? on: October 05, 2018, 04:47:41 PM
It's not scam per se - they're not scamming all users, that's for sure.
But on every Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies related sites and discussion boards you'll find comments from users who had bad experience them and many call them scammers. So my advice would be to stay away from them. I once had a chance to earn 20-30% by using this exchange but decided not to risk and passed this opportunity.
