241  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Moolah Scam on Mintpal - Reporting Missing Coins on: August 12, 2018, 10:34:41 AM
From what I know nobody received anything yet. If you're registered you should receive updates via (snail) mail. If you look up company number/ name in UK companies database you'll be able to see some updates to it's case.

There is also Telegram group named Mintpal (current members:16).
Newest information is that trial has been postponed and it will start no earlier than April 2019.
242  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Moolah Scam on Mintpal - Reporting Missing Coins on: August 12, 2018, 12:27:05 AM
Is it possible to receive back coins that was scam by Moolah Mintpal? I had bitcoins and Darkcoin aka now Dashcoin from before that I lost during the scam.

That's difficult question, but you should send appropriate form posted in this thread and hope for the best, there is chance he hasn't sold all of his coins and maybe when faced with having to spend rest of his life in prison he'll return at least some of them.

Our token swap has ended. Thanks for participating.

So I can't swap my old wankcoins for new ones?
I didn't know about the swap, you had my email as I was a member of xxxcoincams.com and yet you haven't send any info about it?
244  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Always Trust Project Whitepaper? on: August 11, 2018, 10:41:09 PM
Whitepapers are to lure investors. Don't get me wrong, but many whitepapers are just full of bullshit and have very little value/ juice = technical descriptions, detailed info on devs plans.
This trend started few years ago, when people started saying that no whitepaper = scam.
Today I would say it may be exactly opposite.
Recently I was looking on Steem (Steemit.com) history and they started with no wallpaper of all, hell, they haven't even post description of their project.
245  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why bitcoin is superior on: August 11, 2018, 10:33:10 PM
Think for a moment, what was the biggest craze before cryptocurrencies?
I'll answer this for you: apps.
So you're saying Ethereum is largest dAPP network... hmm, that's not a bad thing, don't you think?
One killer app is all that could take ETH to the moon, the same can't be said for BTC, because today if you think about dAPP you think ETH.
246  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are bounty participant really the cause of dumping coins? on: August 11, 2018, 10:23:26 PM
I don't know the answer for your question, but it surely shouldn't happen with ICOs, devs should be aware of their coin distribution and allocate some funds for buy support.
But thinking for a moment, who's more likely to dump coins seeing price going down/ up - someone who invested substantial money to buy it or someone who got small share with little effort? In my opinion it's the former, nobody likes losing invested money and in case of market going up, losing potential profit.

Damn, of course I missed that, had this page open on my desktop PC but I'm just not able to use it for too long.
Oh, at least there are 37 more rounds to enter.
You can bet how many more I'll miss  Grin
248  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Looking for a job that pays bitcoin on: August 10, 2018, 03:59:31 PM
Many professional players tell us that with a laptop you can be lucky to earn 0.01 BTC (bitcoin) per year, with Bitcoin over $ 2000 now, you will earn about $ 20 a year. This is certainly not against the electricity bill to use if Bitcoin prices rise sharply when you have hopes for high profits.

Laptop isn't, and never was good way to mine any cryptocurrency, that is unless you don't care that it may overheat and stop working.
Of course if you believe in certain cryptocurrency and have no money to buy it (or it's difficult to buy it as it's not listed on exchanges) then it may be viable option -> I don't think anyone who mined BTC in 2009 on laptop regrets it, maybe only that they stopped doing when it gave them something like 50 coins a day -> same happened to me, not with BTC but with an altcoin.

BTC on PCs is no longer profitable since 2013, and digging Bitcoins with regular PCs in 2018 is unlikely, it's like you're digging gold with a spoon. In addition, you will have to spend a lot of money digging Bitcoin, or more.

There are certain altcoins you can still mine with regular PCs, for example Monero.

I've noticed you changed rules of the Free Lotto - now you have to deposit or refer at least one new user per 30 days to get free ticket every 8 hours, otherwise it's every 12h (so 2 tickets a day instead 3).
Not that it would mean much to me as I didn't claim free tickets very often (my dropbox hasn't synced and I had no access to password from other devices that my desktop PC which I have trouble using due to health issues), but if someone would like to use 8BET services you can sign up using my reflink: https://8bet.io/?r=u3i4w, THX
250  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcointalk Post Iconizer - Custom post / PM editing buttons for adding BB code on: August 08, 2018, 12:43:22 AM
I think there should be no problem with this as you just have to insert standard image, just like any other, if not that way then another.
Will check when I'll get access to desktop computer.

251  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Stealth Project- True Anonymity of Cryptocurrencies is a Myth! on: August 08, 2018, 12:02:18 AM
I think Bytecoin BCN and Monero XMR are examples of truly anonymous currencies, am I wrong? Of course using secure currency and wallet may be not enough to remain anonymous - if you're really that worried/ doing something really controversial you should also consider using VPN + TOR combination, dedicated hardware and encrypt everything + secure your location.
KYC isn't really a problem - just look at the amount of scams using stolen/ copied IDs, if scammers can get bank accounts in someone's else name how difficult would be for them to pass KYC? And there is also Local bitcoins.
As for STELZ project - it's name/ ticker sounds too close to "steal" in my opinion.
From their FAQ:

How can I be sure, that you are not a scam?
If you are afraid of being scammed, invest only in yourself, in your health and education. STEALTH PROJECT Team doesn’t force ANYONE to invest their funds in any projects.
Oh, good to know they aren't forcing me to invest my funds.

If it's not a scam they have some chances of success.
BTW I think it's Russian project as you can find Russian word in English white paper.
252  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How much time do you spend on bounty campaigns? on: August 07, 2018, 10:12:16 PM
Not enough, because I have trouble using the computer due to my health issues. If I would dedicate enough time to signature campaign I signed few years ago I could save at least large portion of BTC which would partially compensate my losses from bad altcoins trades (not holding).
If you're talking about new altcoins bounties... Well, that's an investment, time is money, if you invest it wisely it may bring you big profits. Investing wisely means that if you can earn "real" money from standard job it may be better to work more hours and just invest in interesting projects.

Check out bounty0x for some easy bounties.  It's a great site.

You're right, I read about a pair that made tens of thousands dollars on that site, but I think bitcoin reaching $20 000 ATH might have played a role in their success too.
253  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: IOTA - Thousands of Wallets Compromised and Funds Stolen on: August 07, 2018, 02:30:08 PM
Still, IOTA wallet is kind of a mess. I still do not understand why they did not use a password as an additional layer of security. And BTW: I did not use a key generator and I still lost a considerable amount of IOTA..

Are you 100% sure you really lost them? Have you read about IOTA foundation (or whatever it's called) taking "custody" of funds from wallets compromised by reusing them? If you haven't then search for it, if you're unable to find it PM and I'll try to find it for you, I saw a guide about how to get "lost" IOTAs back on some Steemit blog.

Please tell me is the current version of IOTA Light Wallet stable and secure???

Or is it better to use BETA Trinity wallet for Android?

I bought some IOTAs in hope to recovering my losses from stupid decision in other cryptos, but now I don't know how to take it off from the exchange!

Thanks

Nobody can answer my question? :/

I myself is a seller of unlimited windows rdp but i cannot get linux vps.

I've seen Digital Ocean's ads on Facebook that promises $100 free credit but I'm not sure what are detailed requirements as I haven't used that offer myself.
Not sure why do you need Linux for, but remember there are many GNU tools available for Windows, just search for GNU Windows, I used wget and awk on Windows with no problems, there is also Bash CMD replacement and if this all is not enough there is always Cygwin...
256  Economy / Digital goods / Re: ★★★Guidance For Unlimited RDPs★★★ on: August 06, 2018, 11:53:23 PM
Is this offer still valid?

Quote
***1) For EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY!!

WTF do you mean by that? Please elaborate.

Quote
Lifespan of rdp depends on how you use it.

Lifespan? So if I buy access I will be connecting to what? Hacked VPS/ Dedi or some poor soul's hacked desktop PC?

Make a guarantee that your offer is legit (as not breaking the law, no hacking involved), send me a vouch copy and I'll consider buying if you're willing to accept escrow payment.

Thx

PS Does it come with admin access? And what amount of RAM?
257  Economy / Gambling / Re: Primedice.com | Creators of Dicing 🎲 | 22 Billion Bets | 112+ BTC Jackpot! on: August 06, 2018, 11:36:44 PM
People who wager that much may be addicted to gambling and/ or using some systems that requires to make many small bets. From comparison of these two lists you can clearly see that godog's system/ strategy is working well. Two more things I would like to see on these lists are no of bets (for most wagered) and luck percentage (for top winners).

You're right that's easier to get included in top winners list with 100BTC bankroll, but it's also easier to get in top losers lists if there would be any  Grin
258  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can coin fork modify transactions on: August 06, 2018, 11:22:21 PM
Oh yeah, the infamous DAO hack, don't even mention it to me, there was so much FUD that it'll kill Ethereum or at least drive Ether price to the very bottom that I sold half of my small holdings, which I can't really forgive myself to this day.
That's interesting what you're saying about BTC pruning and checkpoints, does it mean that with current Bitcoin core you don't have to download whole xxGB of blocks? When I started using BTC it was recommended to use light wallets like Multibit so I sticked with that, I'm not sure if ever synced Bitcoin core wallet fully, but I did it with many altcoins and it was really painfully as it took literally days to get their wallets synced.
259  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: 🔥🔥 🔥 GUARIUM BOUNTY AND AIRDROP 🔥🔥 🔥 on: August 06, 2018, 11:05:58 PM
Where is their ANN thread? Did a Google search and got bunch of results, but looks like their topic(s) have been deleted, why is that?
I know this coin name because I received several emails about it, G. Ciupek is pretty active marketer that provides some kind of services for online enterpreteaturs, not really sure how successful is he (looking at Guarium campaign he's not bad to say at least).
But there is one thing that really bothers me, starting ICO price was $0.01 per coin and it will get up to $0.12 at the end - that's x120 increase, am I right??? Please explain, it won't be tradeable on exchanges or what? Because if it'll hit the exchanges then there will be huuuge dump (seen this before with one scammy coin before), or I am missing something?
260  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can coin fork modify transactions on: August 06, 2018, 07:42:44 PM
you don't throw away the old blockchain. that's the whole point of blockchain, to have this immutable public distributed ledger where all the transactions from the start are stored in. if you throw it away then there is no way of verifying where coins came from.

I kid you not, some coins do it via snapshot, new blockchain is much smaller than the old one.
Maybe it's not the best example, because it's pretty young and unconventional coin, but IOTA did this multiple times... well, yeah, bad example because one of IOTA's feature is "no blockchain", but if you search you'll find some conventional, bitcoin-style coins that did snapshots.

it's just code so yeah it is possible.

I had beeen thinking it should be easy to implement this and your post confirms that.

Thanks!
