it would appear the gpu dropping issue has been slowed down, but is still there.

How much does this affect performance?

badly, as it drops gpu's randomly in single and multicard rigs. the usage goes to 0% and it stops hashing and the miner needs to be manually restarted..... yet to figure a fix around for it or a way to automatically restart the miner when the usage drops to 0%.... :-/

Do you get one card which keeps crashing? I have 5 cards in one of my rigs and I NEVER crash when mining X11 and X13 coins... When I mine monero, it crashes

its random which card crashs. some think it could be psu related which iam currently testing. will also be further testing other drivers to see if it has any affect... btw what cards are you running and what brand of memory? hynix or elpdia

all the ddos has slowed my testing thou Undecided

This pool is good,  and doesn't  have ddos problems  http://pool.cryptoescrow.eu

I run that pool - and I made the CPUminer 10x faster.

Thank you for the new CPUminer. Any new win64 versions coming out soon Grin? Also, why hasn't the pool found a block in so long with its high hash rate?

most probably due to the massive hash rate being unaccounted for in any pool. most probably botnet solo setup or large cpu/gpu farm..... think the pools are finding blocks based on luck atm until things settle down again...

just like your cpu miner, ya pool works tops.... should have switched when i first found it and wouldnt have missed all the mineing time from the attacked pools....

why isnt http://moneropool.org/ connection stable with the miner?

Can't you just read ?

Any ideas why the connection to http://moneropool.org/ keeps dropping ?
We are under a DDoS attack, I'm working on it..

i didnt see that written there, otherwise i wouldnt have asked....... jeez

and is http://monero.crypto-pool.fr/ paying out correctly yet?

How can this be the easily biggest pool with 2+MH/s and only one single page on the forums? Where are all the users discussing mining and pool and payments and mining rigs and setups and whatnot? Hellooooo

not needed as this pool runs smooth as.... no issues to speak of.
809  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore MRO/QCN/FCN/BCN GPU Miner on: June 14, 2014, 02:09:08 PM
i have tried different versions of drivers, working stock clocks all clean installs and still can not get a stable setup. i have also tried disableing monitoring programs and other programs and still not stable. most times its a driver crash even at stock clocks, or it just stops hashing. getting abit beyond a joke atm. anyone else have any bright ideas??? only thing worth noteing driver 13.9 seems to give a few extra hashs

is Cinni really crap? Poloniex owner just said that in trollbox

if you take a trollbox seriously, you really shouldnt be in this world...... lol

R9 280x GPU dropping activity SOLVED:

I found the problem was in relation with my PSU, i was pushing 6 GPU R9 280x with 2 PSU: 1300 watt + 1000w PSU.

I removed 2 x GPU and used only one PSU of 1300watt which can fullfill 4 x GPU (Rosewill 1300w PSU). Right now im mining with Claymore on my 4 x R9 280x with one good PSU 1300w without any problem of VM memory leak or GPU activity.

My 1000w PSU ETG was removed and ill add an extra 530w PSU to support the motherboard connections.

All people with over 4 x GPU and with lower PSU amp and watts, should try removing some GPU cards, one by one

i was about to say the same thing i did the something and no more problem for 2 days now using one PSU 1200 Watt for 3 280x toxic but my hash rate  still 295 for card etc.

overclock your R9 280x:

R9 280x with ELPIDA Memory: 1150 core / 1500 mem (+20% powerlimit)
R9 280x with HYNIX Memory: 1150 core / 1600 mem (0% powerlimit)

with those OC 330 H/s per R9 280x

method does not work. OC value do not work. the issue with cards dropping is related to "thread hung during OpenCL call"... this has already been confirmed by claymore.... PSU isnt the issue and it seems the SDK pack only seems to slow the drop issue down somewhat. So this is a driver issue dependent on card types as well, seems to affect ELPIDA cards worse. GB 280x both built with ELPIDA and running off gold 1000w psus each drop cards randomly, compared to asus DCT2 built with hynix and heavily overclocked have yet to drop a card or crash since the gpu miner was released and they are run off a toughpower 775w bronze PSU....... so psu is not the likely issue.

What does the EM in "First EM Coin" stand for?
Encrypted Messaging

It is a good feature but I'm afraid Cinni isn't the first. As mentioned previously, Offspring has had encrypted messaging since 31st March. See the github repository here: https://github.com/incentivetoken/offspring/releases

You can also check the message explorer to see the encrypted messages being sent since then.

Cinni is actually the first POS coin to bring such a feature, besides who cares about the other coin and its older features and bugger all trade volume..... even cinni with lower market cap has more trade volume then the "other" coin...... Cinni is far superiour Cheesy

i dont think thats the issue. as i have 1 280x running solo on a 1000w gold rated psu and it was still dropping like a bitch. so power is not the issue. only wal that i have found around it is by installing amd SDK 2.9, did that over 14 hours ago and still no crash compared to haveing it crash/drop gpu cards every few hours. i know it has something to do with open Cl thread call or something, i made mention to it several pages back. i will continue to run my cards with the SDK pack and see how it goes over the next few days....
814  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore MRO/QCN/FCN/BCN GPU Miner on: June 13, 2014, 12:05:06 AM
any thoughts on how to get 280x's stable with this gpu miner yet?

and why gigabyte 280x's seem to suffer very low hash rate, eg struggle to break 300h/s when compared to an asus 280x that does 360 with ease.

That's what you mean ? Gigabyte like my another rig ?

are they the windforce 280x's rev 1 or 2?

i run 2 of them and one can do 310H/s at 1200/1500 and the other does about 308H/s at 1200/1500. cant seem to push them any higher on mine. even tried different motherboards and the same affect, they are also the ones that drop out 98% of the time....
R9 280x Windforce Rev2. I do it with default clock 1100/1500. Stop OC your CoreClock cuz it will not stable and increase very little hashrate compare with power consumption. I suggest use default for best performance. If you want to OC, just increase a little with MemClock. FORGET TO OC CORE, IT'S NOT GOOD AT ALL.

mine also does not have Hynix GDDR, i have Elpida, which iam assumeing is a much poorer quality brand of memory. i will knock back the OC and list the results.
do you have stock bios, or modded bios btw?
and do yours stay at 99/100% usage or do they bounce around alittle?

Edit.
both cards running at stock clocks with only +20% to power, one does 292 and the other does 288h/s.
very low considering my asus 280x both combined do 730H/s :-/
i use stock bios, no OC, no powertune. My card performance info (stable constant all next info) : Core 1100, Mem 1500, Mem use 99%, fan speed 90%, temp around 55 - 60 ( environment around 30 celsius degree)
I think Claymore build this miner base on ATI 280x factory default parameter, so that if you change or try to change any element parameter of your cards, it will lead to wrong data reply with miner algo. So the result is hashrate drop down or card works unstable.

i believe that its also dependent on the type of memory the card has been build with. as we know Hynix is what 15% faster then Elpida memory which is where iam starting to believe my issue is actually comeing from with low hash rates. weather that is something that can be overcome with fine greater tuneing to the miner itself by claymore or weather it can be adjusted to be stable via memclocks i cant say. how ever OC works well on 280x's and 7 series and even 6 series gpus. my 2 asus 280x's are OCed and are 100% stable for days. my 2 7950's produce 606h/s between them so that 303 H/s per card, and thats under OC, my 6950 modded to 6970 specs does 120h/s with a mild overclock and has also been stable for days. the cards i have listed are hynix/other based memory built in and when compared to my gb 280x's they all OC very well and are stable where the GB dont seem to be very stable even at stock clocks, which as i suggested i believe is due to the cheaper memory type that was used....

4770k at stock clocks 250h/s at T-4
2600 non K at stock clocks 234 h/s at t-4

its nothing to do with a fan base, its at current the more powerful miner that supplys the highest output.

Nobody seems to be doing careful testing with complete environment data so we can't be sure, but there is a screen shot for this miner showing >300 on a 4770k. I have no idea if that is overclocked or anything else difficult to reproduce.

i dare say overclocked, or in linux which works better for cpu mineing from what i have gathered.

Yeah I don't really understand why Linux would be faster, and I can't come up with a good reason for it, but I never use Windows any more so it isn't something I'm going to work on.

you aint missing much on windows lol....... only problem for me is, the claymore gpu miner for cryptonight algo has no linux support at this current date and no real time frame for support yet otherwise i would be dumpin windows for Pimp and run it all that way. once i figure out how to use it anyway lol...

I give 200 XMR for open source GPU miner. Grin

Seriously? Because I *might* have one. Of course, it might also be near useless.

i hope ya serious. even i would donate you some XMR for a decent working gpu miner even thou i dont have much.

Nah.
