461  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MINT]Mintcoin, Energy Saving Coin With a Fast Distribution *Exchanges on: February 11, 2014, 12:09:00 AM
I just bought 2 millions Mintcoins. I plan to buy 1 million per day - I just have to beware of the fees.

Where can I know how many mintcoins are in circulation now?
What could boost attention to mintcoin?

The best thing everyone can do for MINT is to mention it on the other forums we are at. 5 week initial PoW before PoS is a good selling point Smiley
462  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][KARM] Karmacoin - Most Profitable - 5 Exchanges - Mandatory Wallet Update on: February 10, 2014, 11:48:29 PM
Look at this coin. once it hit low difficulty of 17 , it has 5 GH/s of network all over again..

Go karmacoin , GO!

Proves to tell it is a good coin Smiley

Coinmarket can be reached via irc and twitter.

#coinmarket @ irc.freenode.org
https://twitter.com/CoinMarketio

Don't post about MINT in their bitcointalk thread, it's for support only.

465  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Gravity Kicks MultiPools in the A$$ on: February 10, 2014, 11:17:58 PM
I've been a big supporter of Kimoto Gravity well for weeks. I was one of the first to suggest it for Catcoin (which as of yet is still deciding on a new algorithm) and also KlondikeCoin, which thanks to a great dev got implemented long before the multipools had a chance to wade in.

Kimoto Gravity Well is becoming the mainstream difficulty algorithm to fight back against the multipools and coin hoppers, and I for one am glad of it. I would like to see some KGW variations start appearing, though. I do believe it can still be improved upon.

Variety is a good thing, and it would be boring if every other Scrypt coin that came out now was KGW.

It will be good for the altcoins to have more options when it comes to differentiate themselves from other coins.
466  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Quark is a loser in 2014, Doge is a winner, and how this relates to Vertcoin on: February 10, 2014, 11:15:13 PM

It might be genius if it was a proof of stake coin, but it's not.

That's what makes MINT so interesting, 5 week PoW.

There's >30 BTC trading volume at NewaltEX & MintPal, we have to hit a bigger exchange before the block halving to get this distributed. Is there any progress on it?

Coinmarket or coinedup would be very good at this point.

470  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [USDe] Unitary Status Dollar eCoin | 1st MONTH | Stable Growth on: February 10, 2014, 04:26:23 PM
If my stake in KDC is sold i will buy a few BTCs at current levels, i believe that 100 - 120 is a fair value number and that it can move higher longer term. Planning to buy at least 10BTCs or 10,000,000 USDe coins. Not planning to pump it, just a buy order and i will let the panic seller sell their coins to me Smiley

I like it when people panic sell Wink

I'm with you on that one. This is too easy, just buy when everyone panics good solid coins with long term future in sight, no brainer.

Picking up the crumbles. Golden crumbles that is.

Is MintPal.com ok?

I've had one transaction that was calculated incorrectly. In contact with their support about it.

when I open my mac wallet it says "error loading blkindex.dat"  and wallet closes after. any solutions to this?

use linux or windoze

even with windows my wallet won't sync I been trying to get it to sync for days now.. I finally got an active connection after doing this config file but now it just won't sync. I will pay someone mint if they can help me get my wallet to fully sync  Cry

put the following in your conf file called MintCoin.conf  (uppercase/lowercase is important for linux and macs):

Then go into options and tell the wallet to launch on startup, it may take awhile but it works

if the is the same config in the OP I have already done that and ran it for over 24 hours I have even closed it opened it and tried again I only getmaybe max 6 active connections trys syncing for a very long time and doesn't do anything for 24 hours. eventually the active connections will drop to nothing and this cycle just repeats.

doing this config file has allowed me to get some kind of active connection as I couldn't get one before but still having problems

Delete peers.dat and re-sync with the same .conf Smiley

Is this generally considered safe to install on your main box, or should I play it safe and use VM?
It's closed source, don't install this on your main box. Wink

Of course you can use it on a vm, if you dont trust it. Noone of the beta testers had any security problems though.
@btc wizard: Did you try the client yourself and had any security issues?
I won't install this scamcoin Wink

Fuseleer already sold 600BTC premined scamcoins and thinks he earns it because he worked a year on it. lol

Fixed for you.   Wink

KGW is the best thing that has been coded for cryptos in a year Smiley
474  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Earthcoin so undervalued? on: February 10, 2014, 04:05:59 PM
Too many new coins coming out, we are giving too much value to the new ones and forgetting the old, steady ones.

I don't really like where it's heading, I see it in a negative way right now. But if you can't beat them, join them.

This + there isn't anything innovative about Earthcoin or Vertcoin really. Other, older coins solve for their 'innovation'

Reagrding VTC - is it YAC and CACH you are referring to? Educate me on which others if you'd like Smiley

Please retire.
What's wrong with her? She's great in Leon.

This.
Plus the movie is fucking awesome.

Yeah, but she is like 10 year old in Leon. I expect more from grown ass wimmin!

Haha, but it's even more impressive when they give great performances as children.

Right, but it has nothing to do with her performing bad today. I like her, though it might be my penis talking.

HashStrike pool is down?!

2nd time in 4 hours! Sad

When it rains, it pours Sad  The block chain in our wallet got corrupted, so now having to fully re-download it to get back up and running.

good to see you updating us here, im at work at the moment and all my minors are still pointed to your servers, good luck pal.

Whatever pool you choose (and this applies to any coin) I would strongly advise to set up at least 2-3 backup pools.  No pool is perfect, and it will keep you hashing at 100% all the time.  I'm manually recovering the blockchain at the moment, and we should be back shortly.

--failover-only is the parameter you guys should use.

This is how your .bat-file will look with failover set to other pools;
stratum+tcp://superminer.com:1111 -I 17 -g 1 -u user.woker -p password --failover-only stratum+tcp://megaminer.com:2222 -I 17 -g 1 -u user.woker -p password

Code;
Code:
stratum+tcp://superminer.com:1111 -I 17 -g 1 -u user.woker -p password --failover-only stratum+tcp://megaminer.com:2222 -I 17 -g 1 -u user.woker -p password

You can do this with as many pools as you wish in the .bat-file. It's the only way you can leave your house and still be sure you are mining 6 hours later Wink
So --failover-only is only for the 2nd, 3rd, backup pools you have right?

only the first pool should have -o stratum+tcp://superminer.com:1111 and the --failover-only replaces -o right?

Typo from me! --failover does not replace -o

This is how it should look like; -o stratum+tcp://superminer.com:1111 -I 17 -g 1 -u user.woker -p password --failover-only -o stratum+tcp://megaminer.com:2222 -I 17 -g 1 -u user.woker -p password

Yes.

no, typo from me.

You could write about the upcoming threat major exchanges will face from new & quicker-to-adopt exchanges? Cryptsy is not too big to fail Wink

And what does it take to get a coin listed could be fun reading about.
