61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Are ASICs really worth the investment? on: October 12, 2017, 07:36:25 AM
But even getting lucky with the timing like that I would have actually made a bigger profit if I had just bought BTC rather than buying the ASICS.

I've made a loss on the miners I bought, unless I correct for raising BTC rates. Which I shouldn't factor in, as buy and hold back them would've made me a LOT more by now Smiley
62  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Wondering how to set my R1-LTC to solo mine einsteineum? on: October 12, 2017, 07:23:31 AM
Would like to get my R1-LTC scrypt miner to start solo mining eisteineum or some other scrypt coins but I dont know how to do that...I usually use nice hash for solo mining but they only have BTC LTC and DASH.... Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

Why would you want to go solomining? As a lotteryticket style?
63  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Are ASICs really worth the investment? on: October 12, 2017, 07:22:34 AM
Keep thinking of buying ASICS but my worry is that they are a one trick pony compared to say a GPU that I can mine multiple coins and has resale value.

Are they profitable with average electricity costs?

I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY NEWBIES KEEP ASKING THE SAME QUESTION " ITS TO LATE TO START MINING , IT IS STILL PROFITABLE ?"

No one can tell you !
Always going to be a 2 group of ppl who telling you it's ok go for it , or dont bc you just wasting ur money !
You have to make a decision for yourself !
Do your own research !
No one can tell you for sure what's going to happen with cryptocurrency !
No one can tell you it's going to be profitable for you or not !
No one can tell you how much profit you going to be able to make ! ( if you can make any at all )
No one can tell you the ROI ( return of investment) time !
None of those calculators you are seeing on the web can tell you what's coming tomorrow , months later or 6 months later !
Those calculators telling you about today , at that moment when you typing in your information !
It's little bit of gambling , you must to decide you want to play on the lottery or not  Grin
YES some of us got lucky , made some money with mining
YES some of us got unlucky , lost some money , bc when price started to fall , sold the coins , miners

I'm going to save this quote, as it's a good answer to a lot of recurring questions. Probably you've also got it in a textfile lurking around, right? Wink
64  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Launching the Antminer L3+, World's Most Powerful and Efficient Litecoin Miner on: October 12, 2017, 07:20:51 AM
My friends

I have a few orders I'm working out with bit main

for a S9 and L3plus

I am still waiting for my paid D3  Huh Shocked:/ -- but thats another story I know

I'm wondering if anyone has solid advice as if its worth to still grab one more L3plus and the S9 ...     or is it really not worth it -- due to increased diff and lower return ?

of course i can just place t he funds into the markets 4 return --

I'm hoping for more involvement and some extra funds ?

thx my friend

best of luck n respect to all
 Wink

At this point, as mentioned a few posts back, I wouldn't consider buying an L3, as they're more expensive than the first batch and the difficulty is going up rapidly.

Member base for both the free and premium group are growing rapidly!

Do you happen to have an overview of succes rate of the signals? What percentage was correct? Some statistics? I might join with a few Smiley

I've added [claimed to be] to the title, to adapt to the findings so far Wink
68  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: sound proofing for avalon 741 ,or 721 or 6 on: October 11, 2017, 06:59:25 AM
I wanted to go into ASIC mining a couple of months ago, had a Antminer S9 in my basket and filled down my information but then I saw a video on YouTube about the noise they produce. Never thought it would be that loud, so did some tests in my study room with a device that makes an equal amount of noise and found it too loud so I canceled the order. The Avalon seems a little bit more quiet, but still too loud for the apartment I live in. The noise reducing you did seems to be going to the right direction for me. But I just hope that they will produce quieter machines in the future, so an average person can also enjoy ASIC mining.

It will certainly make your avalons quiter, but not enough to sleep in the same room. You can for example put this into your living room instead, with the idea I and philip described above. The problem is always the fan, but it is required to cool these machines down. Thus, your idea of a quiet ASIC machine is not feasible because it makes the miner much expensive, see r4 from bitmain, it has almost the hashrate as avalon but 2 or more times expensive. Water-cooled machines would make it much more expensive.
My walls aren't thick enough to block most of the noise. When I watch TV in the living room I still hear it quite loud in my bedroom. I guess I got to wait till water cooling is affordable. Because water cooled mining machines like the R4 don't seem to be worth it at this moment, unless you have free electricity.

The r4 was not watercooled.

But virtually impossible to buy at this moment. I've been looking around and they're either offered by scammy websites, or not at all. I'd say there's a lot bigger market for these things than how many were produced so far.

Still online and taking orders!

Thank you very much for the "bonus credit". I've made one order to test effect, how quick will the service start to work?
That depends on the type of service. Some services are completed in 10 mins, others may take up to 2 days. What did you order? Also for faster communication please add on skype.

Facebook fanpage promotion in this case. Ordered three days ago but it's still pending. I think I have you on skype, will try that next time.
70  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Baikal Giant X10 on: October 11, 2017, 06:43:40 AM
Right now I'm seeing a 24 day ROI based on QUBIk/QUARK. Although these numbers are dropping super fast. Any thoughts why? Are their other NEW machines out there which can mine these algo's? There shouldn't be a reason why the d3's mining x11 make QUBIK and QUARK drop right?

They might've just switched the whole batch they're going to send out on for just a week to test?

Yes its a Butcher's shop Cheesy

They might not be butchering mining costs after all Wink

Looks like a scam to me.

The fact there's zero to be found about it on BCT didn't help either. Let me have a look at the registration details of the domainname.

gas stations have a very short livetime .Something between 10-15 years since everything will go electric

Don't you think gas stations might be able to make the transformation into electric stations? Smiley

For example in The Netherlands there's almost a covering network with electric points next to gas stations: https://fastned.nl/en/
74  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain D3 Antminer October Batch Purchases on: October 10, 2017, 06:43:35 PM
Today I got an email from Bitmain that my L3+ is shipped.
Inside the mail there was a tracking number and the invoice as attachment
I think it's the same procedure for the D3.
That for that I'll keep an eye out for an email.
They should give you a tracking number and Vat is 20% of what you have paid.

I saw a post about potential import tax https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2029822.msg22784681#msg22784681

Do you know how paying the VAT works? Will it get held in customs until I've paid?

Since it's most probably sent by one of the bigger shippers, they either show up on your doorstep with an invoice (as TNT Express does, or DHL in some countries) or they send an invoice later (which they tend to do mostly with companies).
75  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Innosillicon [claimed to be] working on new mining operation on: October 10, 2017, 06:20:42 PM
Couldn't find a thing on the forum about it yet, 4 pages of search results with "terraminer", but nothing on these guys:

http://www.newsbtc.com/2017/10/10/mining-equipment-producers-join-terraminer/

Bought a press release, which isn't automatically a good sign, but their website looks quite good, plus their ICO offer looks quite interesting. Anyone else heard something about them?

77  Economy / Services / Re: “Welcome To DUBAI, UAE” - SETUP FREEZONE/OFFSHORE COMPANIES IN U.A.E on: October 10, 2017, 07:02:55 AM
I will do that.
There are many improvements latetly in UAE, specially since September.
Maybe i can post all UAE related news here and probably help with people realizing what a good offer this is for business trying to enter crypto and blockchain world.

Thanks
Duke

Oh, yes, that would be a good one. I'm already getting a lot of info from different sources about UAE, but it is difficult to get all details complete Smiley
78  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: PROOF: Bitmain is selling old hardware as NEW miners! on: October 10, 2017, 06:54:00 AM
If I were them I'd run them for about 1 day and then ship them to the next paying customer on the list. But most people consider raw profits over not being a self-serving ass. But that mindset tends to wreck economies in the long run. Course I also don't take money from investors/funds either, so I'm allowed to make my own decisions without others trying to buy the right to supercede me.

Oh, to clarify, it would be far from ethical, and I wouldn't call the company a production company, but a mining company that produces it's own equipment, then sells the used into the market once the in house produced new product is as good as done.

This makes me angry, why would they do that? That's like cheating the customers and I would not buy from them!

I was offering a hypothetical Wink From a business perspective it makes sense to use first before selling, but as long as you've got superior material (in energy efficiency) it would be crazy not to let it run for a while before shipping. Then again, Bitmain should be honest about what they're doing before shipping. As was mentioned somewhere before, they don't explicitly state the hardware is new, but that is what you would reasonably expect Smiley

Hello,

Service is still being offered.
Please send us a message regarding yourself and we will reply as soon as possible.

Regards
Duke

Would the upcoming VAT from next January change anything for the position of companies in Freezones? And what are your ideas on the personal income tax that is rumoured about?

Would you mind answering my question? Wink

And do you also have the option to open bank accounts outside of UAE?

Hello.
sorry somehow i skipped ur post.
for the vat question i dont think its applicable to free zones but we will have a better idea once the time comes closer.
personal income tax is not happening. my opinion is it will never happen in the uae.
about opening banks outside of uae no.
i only deal with uae and their freezones.
thanks
duke

No problem mate!

I would say they'd be killing their whole financial business if they do, but I couldn't find a clear no.

http://www.klgates.com/new-uae-vat-and-tax-procedures-laws-09-05-2017/ This is the most recent I could find. Because to me the VAT would be a dealbreaker. Could you post here if there's news? I'm following the thread Smiley
