Again let's have this chat when BTC hits $20k or ION hits $8

It’s a real shame you refuse to engage with this, Korvas. It makes you look a lot like you’re simply running away when the going gets tough and you actually have to try and defend the ludicrous things you’ve said in the past.

I wonder how the ‘project management’ of ion core is going. As far as I can see things appear to have ground to a bit of a halt since November or so. I suppose that’s not too much of a surprise, since almost no one is really interested in ion, and those that are hardly have the sort of specialist skills you’d need. It looks like the most you’ve achieved so far is deleting the general channel of your own discord in error, which basically sums up the state of this entire project in a nutshell, doesn’t it?
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ION [ION] | POS 3.0 | Mobile Gaming | Join the ionomy today! on: January 08, 2021, 02:22:32 PM
Yeah they wont do it out of fear but more easy out as no longer worth it for them. remaining premines useless. i must admit though the slow bleed over the years has dwindled their user and customer base so i doubt anyone will complain.

i tend to think the age of shitty altcoins is over. ico’s etc seem exhausted now with people wanting btc.

I mean, there wasn’t really ever much of a user base there to begin with, but sure - I think they’re down to probably 10-15 engaged investors now, judging from their discord. Customer wise, I guess maybe they might have more than that, but most of them are people who are just very casually using their exchange and aren’t likely to be very loyal, or engage with the Ionomy ‘vision’, whatever the hell that means.

I think the age of shitcoins passed a long, long time ago. There’s simply no interest in this kind of shit anymore, and there wasn’t much interest to begin with beyond a bunch of very delusional people.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ION [ION] | POS 3.0 | Mobile Gaming | Join the ionomy today! on: January 07, 2021, 07:40:03 AM
Doesnt korvas run ion core or something now? thats kinda ionomy well more the sucked out husk of ionomy after sold premine gone. Basically offloading work now its falling and giving them an angle to blame... we cant make the services or games cause ion core hasnt been updated so we arent accountable.

Bingo. That’s exactly what Ionomy will do now, until eventually they frame it as ‘core is holding us back, we need to move on to another project’ or some similar nonsense.

Again let's have this chat when BTC hits $20k or ION hits $8

Hi there, Korvas, happy new year. Ready to have this chat now? How come Ion isn’t a lot higher than $0.04 now that BTC is at a record high? Sad times, chum.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ION [ION] | POS 3.0 | Mobile Gaming | Join the ionomy today! on: December 31, 2020, 12:38:32 PM
It's funny even that last fan boy has checked out, wonder what bag he is left with. The last of the GAW scammers gone and I will say I must admit that I feel sorry for the fan boys that didn't take the second chance of redemption as they must be really poor folks and very dumb

I don’t for a second believe that Korvas has checked out, he’s probably just too embarrassed to reply in this thread because his predictions for this year, as with every year, have proven to be utter turd. No matter, it’s deeply satisfying that he’s left holding vast numbers of more or less unsellable, pointless tokens now. Good luck, pal, happy new year.

What Bittrex volume? I see the market is halted there. What's going on?

I believe it’s being delisted on bittrex, but none of the team bother checking this thread so you’re better off trying to find information on their two discord channels.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ION [ION] | POS 3.0 | Mobile Gaming | Join the ionomy today! on: December 18, 2020, 11:35:10 AM
i meant more like tournament hosting paid entry for things like cs:go, league of legends etc, online weapon skin shops using ion as a base coin. Not saying it would have made their coin tops but it definitely would have made some kind of eco system.

Their games sucked they arent triple a devs but tried to enter that competitive space. gravity was just pointless there are so many of these crappy games on every app store.

I think they were over confident on their offering and never once stopped to think if anyone actually would really use it.

Personally i would have skipped the coin creation and used something existing like ltc, btc lightning, dgb etc. That or put your dumb coin as a token. Leave the dev work to the pros.

There are a number of failures here, but they’re all things that are commonly found in altcoin communities. The base thing here is honestly just delusion, on the behalf of the ‘team’ and the investors.

They had no real idea of the level of interest, skills required or the amount of work they’d need to put in to develop a product that gamers and devs would engage with, and they still don’t. I still don’t believe that this is even something the gaming industry needs, anyway. They don’t have the skills in their ‘team’ so they’ve likely relied on outsourced game devs from Eastern Europe to develop the games from concept to delivery, and it shows in the shitty quality and lack of iteration on them.

They don’t have the coin dev skills in their ‘team’ so they’ve relied on a revolving door of contracted devs, hence the continual rebasing. I note that now they appear to be trying to shift some of the blame for the lack of delivery of ‘gamegrid’ on to the fact that ‘ion core’ who were developing the coin were too slow. This is nonsense because until ~2 months ago ‘ion core’ were still ostensibly part of ‘Ionomy’. Those who have been around long enough will no doubt remember that they blamed this exact thing for xpy.io’s failure, only then it was supposedly the xpy coin devs that were holding them back. This is clearly just an excuse.

I could go on. Their project management is dreadful; despite being apparently in charge of Ionomy, Matlack often has no idea what the status of any of their projects are, provides incorrect or over enthusiastic launch dates, etc. Their communication is appalling; they often go long periods between meaningful updates, and that’s been a problem right from the beginning. It’s worth noting here that despite being silent for a large chunk of this year about their projects, Matlack and co still found time in the middle part of the year to churn out a surprising number of political debate videos on their ‘Take Two’ YouTube channel.

Who knows if they’ll ever launch ‘gamegrid’. As I’ve said before, it’s pretty clear that they likely have no partnerships lined up, because they’d be wanting to launch more quickly if they did. The likes of Korvas won’t care about any of this, because to him somehow this will still remain a ‘100x’ opportunity, and destined for ‘parabolic growth’.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ION [ION] | POS 3.0 | Mobile Gaming | Join the ionomy today! on: December 15, 2020, 12:18:18 PM
62 satoshi now... not looking good but if wildshark and korvas were here they’d tell you its gone up in usd value. I’d still prefer the satoshis and not buy ion.

Surely team ion’s bank balance is getting low? With them paying themselves a wage and the low value that premine cant go far.

speaking of wildshark was he finally banned perm or did he just slink off after finally realising how bad ion investments were?

I’m pretty sure they must be running low on funds, and that may be part of the reason why they’ve not been able to push anything out for ages. Even by their own incredibly slow standards, this year has been a stand out dud of a year in terms of delivery. They never fully discuss funding but they allude to it occasionally in very vague terms. The ‘community controlled’ ion core dev fund apparently has ~3 million ion in it, so even that’s not a vast sum of money.

The broader problem is that in common with all alt coin projects of this ilk, they’re way too immersed in this little bubble to be able to comprehend the fact that none of the stuff they’re working on really appeals to people outside of altcoin obsessives. It never has and it never will.

I’m sure Korvas will read this at some point, so I just want to leave this little nugget here for him to remind him of his own delusion: how’s this working out for you, champ?

When BTC returns to $20k ion will be much higher than $0.04.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ION [ION] | POS 3.0 | Mobile Gaming | Join the ionomy today! on: December 13, 2020, 11:57:36 AM
Sounds like it's about time to rebrand it again and relaunch as some sort of DeFi PNG-decorated scam token.

I probably shouldn't be giving them ideas.

You joke, but I suspect that’s their next play. They were already talking about finding alternative avenues (ie pivoting again) because they seem to have finally realised that - surprise, surprise - no users really care about decentralised game assets, and almost no game devs really care or have a realistic use case for blockchain integration beyond gimmicky proof of concept stuff. I could have told them that 4+ years ago, but whatever.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ION [ION] | POS 3.0 | Mobile Gaming | Join the ionomy today! on: December 12, 2020, 11:45:35 PM
Ok that explains everything really. When they put someone so obviously nuts (might be genuinely bipolar, in which case I apologize - not my intent to make fun of mental illness) in charge of their development or whatever he's in charge of, that's pretty much what they should have expected. For some reason I thought he fucked off years ago. I guess they don't have anybody else who knows anything about coding and is willing to go along with their dumb schemes.

I have absolutely no doubt that Boki/Tor is probably extremely skilled as a dev, but he also clearly has communication issues that need managing. Without that, he’s a fairly divisive and destructive influence, and dominates conversation to the point where people feel like it’s pointless getting involved.

Their community was obviously dying already, but Boki/Tor’s rants and exit just sped the process up. Now it’s this mess of two different discord’s, no apparent direction in either group, and only a tiny number of people who mostly are minimally engaged anyway.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ION [ION] | POS 3.0 | Mobile Gaming | Join the ionomy today! on: December 12, 2020, 08:43:33 PM
WTF LOL

Someone going full Garza on Github there, a bunch of deleted comments. So what exactly is going on? Some sort of disagreement that caused the split?

As with everything Ionomy related, it’s fairly confusing, but also deeply funny. The summary is that Boki/Tor had a meltdown in their discord a couple of months ago and wound up insulting almost everyone, talked about disagreements between him and the Ionomy team, and had a hilarious argument with Krumz and rdwilde. Boki/Tor left the discord. After this, the tiny ‘community’ seemed to be fractured and they proposed a split because there seemed to be a desire to have more control over the coin development handed over to the ‘community’.

The deleted comments on GitHub were from rdwilde, I believe, and were probably deleted by Boki/Tor because ultimately he only really values his own opinion.

There’s some discontent simmering with the lack of progress from Ionomy, but ultimately there’s only about 8-10 people left who engage with the whole shitshow now. Even the most vocal of them seem bizarrely content with Matlack just popping up once in a while and soothing them by giving vague ideas of when they might, possibly, release something.

I’m astounded that it continues to rumble on, but I guess I just consistently underestimate how endlessly dense and gullible some of these people are. Still, anyone who’s watched altcoin communities long enough will know that generally a community takeover of the coin is just yet another indicator that this is dead. Even if ionomy release whatever guff they’re working on, it’s not going to be successful - they clearly don’t have any partners lined up because otherwise they’d be in much more of a hurry to get stuff out, so it’ll just be more releases sent off into the dwindling echochamber of their followers.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ION [ION] | POS 3.0 | Mobile Gaming | Join the ionomy today! on: December 12, 2020, 07:42:53 PM
korvas128 hasn't posted in a long time and his last post was kinda salty. Maybe he finally sold his bags of (once upon a time) $7 IONs and other PNGs for $0.02 and quit this horror show.

Hilariously, I know he hasn’t sold. In exactly the kind of ridiculous ‘dying altcoin’ move that you’d expect, Korvas is now the ‘project manager’ for ‘Ion core’, the ‘community’ driven side of the project, after they officially split into ‘Ion core’ and ‘Ionomy’ (the company). They even have two separate discords now, because nothing will foster an already depleted community like making things even more confusing, right?

12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ION [ION] | POS 3.0 | Mobile Gaming | Join the ionomy today! on: December 12, 2020, 12:17:24 PM
My perspective is when companies like Ionomy offer a market-leading proposition; they get somethings right & somethings wrong especially when there is no benchmark or company to follow. Opportunities, obstacles, challenges & problems WILL manifest themselves in markets that are in a continual state of evolution. The fact that Ionomy is still here after four years shows me they are intelligent and agile enough to navigate the treacherous but rewarding waters of crypto/gaming.

2020 will be the year when all their work and learnings will start to come to fruition.

For instance, PowerGrid evolves into  GameGrid. Apart from the GameGRID developer-centric services, GameGRID also offers a unity plugin meaning it's easy for a game developer to implement crypto/tokens across multiple platforms (PC,Mobile,Console). Rumble arena will be the first 3rd party game to incorporate GameGrid. Currently, on the google playstore alone Rumble Arena is sitting at 100k+ downloads.  My prediction is by the end of next year, over  1 million gamers across multiple games will have used Ionomy's transactional-based blockchain.

One year on. Still no ‘GameGrid’. Still no ‘GameDock’. Still no Rumble Arena integration. Still nothing from the ever silent Premium Partner ‘Lucky Tap Games’. They don’t even have 10s of users, let alone millions.

Still of the opinion that this is a ‘market leading proposition’, Korvas? Is 2021 going to be the year where everything ‘comes to fruition’? Or are you finally going to realise that you’ve been sold a vision that can’t and won’t work by Ionomy for many years?
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ION [ION] | POS 3.0 | Mobile Gaming | Join the ionomy today! on: May 12, 2020, 09:59:46 AM
So, we’re in May now. Q1 passed a long time ago, and it’s nearly halfway through Q2. What’s happened in ionoland?

Well, not much. Some coins were added to their exchange. They tried to pick up shitcoin refugees from the Steem/Hive split. They made a slightly fancier looking website for gamegrid, but didn’t actually launch it. They hosed their hosted masternode service and replaced them with Sharenodes, which Korvas will no doubt tell you is innovative magic, but actually seemed to annoy some of the few people left in their community a bit - mainly because they didn’t really communicate the change. They did some airdrops. No one really appeared to notice.

The team seemingly gave up on trying to give official updates, and now appear to be relying on a community volunteer to do extremely dull 15 minute YouTube videos every 3-4 weeks so he can talk in an English monotone and bore the 10 or so people left who actually care to death.

Exciting, this ain’t. But it is hilarious.

There’s no sign of the fork. It was apparently ‘ready’ a few weeks ago, but who knows if that’s ready ready, or ionomy ready, which is to say not really ready at all. Presumably the ‘team’ have been caught in stasis and believe it’s still Q1, or have been rendered entirely unable to reach for their keyboards to keep their almost non existent community up to date. Someone asked outright back at the end of February if the roadmap was still correct, and they were told an unequivocal yes, everything is still correct (though via the proxy of their community liaison). Whereupon Korvas eagerly rubbed his hands together and exclaimed that it was going to be a busy 5 weeks but, gee wizz, he just couldn’t wait for all those years of work to come to fruition. Or something. Probably.

Ignoring the fact that the roadmap was already behind by that point anyway, if this malarkey doesn’t demonstrate that this team can’t project manage or even communicate for toffee, I don’t know what does.

So will they ever fork? Who knows. But I’m damn sure almost no one cares at this point.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ION [ION] | POS 3.0 | Mobile Gaming | Join the ionomy today! on: April 08, 2020, 03:07:20 PM
Added April 8

GameGrid has been updated. My guess is this will launch shortly after the hard fork.

https://gamegrid.pro/

Years of work finally coming to fruition  Smiley

Only, what, 3 months late? And still listing the seemingly dead/mute/entirely silent LuckyTap games as a partner? This is basically just a reskin of the website they still have up at gamegrid.network anyway.

15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ION [ION] | POS 3.0 | Mobile Gaming | Join the ionomy today! on: March 22, 2020, 09:36:45 AM
Wasn't it promised in February?

What happened to the Gamegrid thing, is that also launching in April? I'm assuming quarters are 4 months old on the ionomy calendar and April belongs to first quarter. Am I right? Start working on your excuse for May.

GameGrid was promised for ‘[the] first part of Jan’ and the fork for February. Then the first part of January passed with no GameGrid, and the narrative was changed to ‘everything needs to be on the Dash rebase before the GameGrid launches’. The fork was ‘a couple of weeks delayed’ in February. This, along with a couple of other items, makes up the majority of their Q1 goals.

At this point they’ll probably eventually either just squeeze the fork out before the end of the quarter, or they’ll miss it by a couple of weeks, but honestly that’s beside the point. This is just one example of a great many where the team massively over egg how much they can get done in a short space of time. This is not an outlier - it’s the norm in Ionomy land.

The world clearly has bigger issues to deal with right now than solving a problem that arguably never really needed solving at all in blockchain<>gaming. Matlack and co now have the unfortunate task of launching an extremely niche product at a time where there will likely be even less interest than there may have been anyway, and it’s unlikely to have been popular at the best of times.

Regardless of opinions on this project, I genuinely hope you and your families stay safe. Take care of yourselves.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ION [ION] | POS 3.0 | Mobile Gaming | Join the ionomy today! on: February 22, 2020, 04:09:11 PM
However which way you want. From a big publisher like EA to a small indie developer it's whatever best fits your product.

An example

Played Fifa 20. You buy a player pack. In it is a rare ICON card like Pele 1958 World Cup winner.  Currently, the Entire economy is centralised. Now the entire economy is able to transition to the ION block-chain which if your EA means the cost of maintaining the economy is significantly reduced and if your the gamer that bought the pack they now own an asset on-chain which gives the dev a lot more flexibility in its consumer offering.

Now if you're a small Indie developer...

For an Indie developer, it's not just about plugging into an economic infrastructure. Smiley

The limiting factor is your imagination  Grin

I appreciate that this was just an example, but the fact that the game economies across the titles a company like EA offers are centralised is beneficial to EA because it affords them ultimate control over in game assets. There’s no compelling commercial reason why they’d be motivated to move to a decentralised model, and certainly no reason why, if they were interested in implementing blockchain, they’d use something like GameGrid to do that rather than develop a solution in house.

In addition, most consumers do not care about decentralisation or being able to ‘prove’ ownership of in game assets. They simply consume them to play the games and don’t think any deeper, and that’s not going to change any time soon. This is a very niche idea that currently holds little sway outside of crypto circles.

For indie devs - again, I can’t see why you’d try and work with Ionomy when the proven audience isn’t very big. If Ionomy had already proven its viability and gotten perhaps tens of thousands of gamers engaged, then there might be some motivation there, but right now joining this eco system would only likely net you 10-15 engaged users from a niche discord channel. There’s no attraction there if I’m an indie dev looking for quick monetisation.

You’re a games developer irrelevant of size it’s a way to monetize your product

How?

There’s nothing that ionomy can offer that offers a clear path to monetisation, so I think you’re just playing buzzword bingo here.

Im confused... one day wildshark criticises matlack the next day hes defending... is this a bipolar thing or? im confused on the actual stand...

He now requests scotch for korvas so are they friends or is wildshark trying to get allies or?

I suspect he’s just stoned or drunk, or both. I don’t think even he knows what he thinks of ion to be honest. On one hand he’s likely still got a butt load of seemingly useless tokens tied up with them, on the other, he’s clearly realised that this is probably not going to make him rich. Either way, it won’t be long before he’s permabanned.

Yep that's what they said

Most of the time Ionomy announcements happen on a Friday. I hope to see something by the end of play tomorrow.  Smiley

Well that didn’t age well, predictably.

https://news.ionomy.com/testnet-client-release-new-dash-base/

Conspicuously without a firm date planned. Given that they haven’t released the testnet yet, this is still some way off being ready. What’s the betting the fabled GameGrid doesn’t appear until Q2, or at least late in Q1?
