I believe Theymos is working on a new model to facilitate account recovery for locked and hacked accounts. So you would have to wait on that.
For now, there is still a long queue of users waiting to have their accounts back.
222  Economy / Economics / Re: Just sharing what I've learned about cryptocurrency businesses in Gibraltar on: December 23, 2018, 07:10:31 PM
Cryptocurrency is getting lots of popularity and various countries are becoming cryptocurrency hubs with lots of projects springing up from such regions, this would naturally gain interest from the government, while some have been hostile to digital assets, it's inevitable that this technology is here to stay, and this countries would be trying now to harness that potential and profit from it.
Regulations is one of the ways that can be done.
223  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where to learn about cryptocurrency on: December 23, 2018, 06:07:59 PM
Most people, when they hear Bitcoin, they respond 2 ways: "What's that ?" and "It's a bubble".

People consider Bitcoin as a bubble, if they are introduced to the profit aspect first, and not the actual product and vision of bitcoin. The right kind of orientation would make people aware of the different ways we all acn profit from this network
And i agree, books, and online contents are very useful tools to learn more about bitcoin.

Bitcoin is quite hard to grasp if you don't have a bit of a techy background.

Except you intend to get into the highly technical aspects of bitcoin, then all you need is an idea of how it works. And this can be acquired through following discussions on forums such as these and reading helpful content.
224  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Strategy on: December 23, 2018, 06:00:40 PM
For me the strategy is very simple. Buy the coins when the market is going low. Hold the coins and wait for the bull run. When you see you can get a good profit, sell them, very easy.

That's great strategy I know all investor's of bitcoin to that strategy cause it simple and easy. Buy bitcoin until the value is down and wait for right time to sell it and you will earn more profit in your investment.

All investors do not 'buy low and sell high' and also it is not 'simple and easy'.
Investment strategies differ and the nature of cryptocurrency market makes it very difficult to predict where the bottom would be, and where the peak is.
There are also other strategies asides 'going long', but you would need more in-depth understanding of the bitcoin network and the market
225  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ripple: BULL trap for Christmas? on: December 23, 2018, 05:51:50 PM
For technical analysing I just follow bitcoin graph , If the bitcoin price rise up usually 99% of the coins and tokens would rise too , no matter it is XRP or ZEC , the only thing that remains is how much they can rise if the bitcoin rises , and I would say it depends on how deep they are and what are the good news about them .

This only applies during a period of FOMO and hype were investors are trying to get into the cryptocurrency market amd profit. But for real organic growth, that is dependent on the actual use case and applications of the coin or token.
This foundamentals are major concerns of long-term investors. Traders are more concerned with little changes in price.
226  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bounty campaigns on: December 21, 2018, 01:38:54 PM
If you are looking for a trusted bounty campaign, them you have to search up trusted bounty managers and follow the projects they are managing.
There are a couple of them here on bitcointalk, and others on telegram amd their personal websites.
227  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I face a tourble while sending personal message on: December 21, 2018, 01:31:46 PM
These limitations in sending private message, posting and reporting were put in place to stop need from abusing them, up until they have gotten acquainted with how to properly use those features.
Some members restrict a certain rank from sending them a private message also.

And yes, copper member can lift most of the limitations on an account.
228  Other / Meta / Re: Craked5 is a hacked account on: December 20, 2018, 02:53:58 PM
The account was inactive(no posts made) for six months prior to the suspected hack. And it has been an extra twelve months for a complain to be made. That must have been what attracted hackers to it, an inactive account is much easier to steal, without getting any rebuttals.

With a signed message it would be difficult to regain an account. But without it, and the suspected hacker having signed the account, it makes it more difficult.

The frequency of posts shot up this year, and also the change in language, I do not know if that is enough evidence on which to tag the account.
The mods and DTs would decide that. You can also leave a negative remark, just to serve as a detterent, and maybe use this thread as a reference.
229  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin - Blockchain and the dream of new money on: December 20, 2018, 02:16:07 PM
The mainstream media love to describe it as a problem (a way for people to get scammed, lose money)

I have seen lots of positive publications about bitcoins, the blockchain and other digital assets.
Let's not view every negative coverage as FUD also, the media coverage are not always accurate, due to the fact that controversy sells, and that the state journalism is at now.

People should be aware of the good and bad sides of bitcoin.
230  Other / Meta / Re: [Proposal] Badges. Badges everywhere on: December 19, 2018, 08:39:03 PM
Among others things too. Reaching milestones of posts, time signed in or merit gained.

I see no concrete reason why there should be badges made for posting milestone or merits received.
There is enough motive to seek to gain merits, and I don't see why we should enocurage people to post to get badges

Reporter badges would be to encourage members to use the 'report' button and also to reward those who already use it

Reporter statistics are not public, unlike post count and merits which can be viewed in the profile and determines the members rank and ability to wear, avatars and signatures.
231  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to read trading charts for crypto on: December 19, 2018, 08:30:58 PM
People who have experience in the stock market or forex trading will see lots of similarities in these charts, and many of the techniques and trends are the same. But many who are joining a

Experience is one of the most vital qualities for a successful trader.
Technical analysis can be learnt theoretically, but the art of putting it to practical use, with capital at stake, is a skill that is grown overtime.
Excellent article on the subject.
232  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Using bitcoin without internet on: December 19, 2018, 02:10:00 PM
Internet is becoming very popular, and a huge percentage of the population now has access to smart phones.
Bitcoin without internet, may not do much in terms of bitcoin adoption, but it's a development. Amd would make Bitcoin more flexible and easily accessible.
233  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: REASON FOR MARKET RECOVERY on: December 19, 2018, 12:42:22 PM
It's too early to call this a recovery. It's the longest stretch of upward movement in value that we have seen for quite some time. With BTC up about 20%. This would have to be sustained forgot mcheck longer for the price to consolidate, and reach the values it was at for majority of the year.
234  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What makes bitcoin a trending topic? Bitcoin in a nutshell. on: December 18, 2018, 07:40:11 AM
A 'trending topic' is quite a novel way to describe bitcoins model and agenda. Bitcoin was a trending topic a couple of years ago, it is now much more that a hot topic.

No one deny that he did not receive money. There is no scam in bitcoins if you have the bitcoins in your wallet it is 100% yours.

This is inaccurate, there is scam in bitcoins, and your wallet can be hacked amd your assets stolen. Never 100% trust any system or technology. Just maintain the highest level of security.
235  Economy / Speculation / Re: Today is 1 year since Bitcoin price reach its ATH (~$20,000) on: December 17, 2018, 02:32:13 PM
The previous all time peak before the high of 2017 was in 2013. So it took bitcoin about five years for it to reach and eclipse its previous peak, and it made a huge jump which attracted lots of attention and investments.

We would not want to take that long for Bitcoin to eclipse the current peak, but this is an unpredictable field and anything is possible.
236  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The new era of BITCOIN is here on: December 17, 2018, 12:40:53 PM
it might be the greatest time to BUY or it might be the greatest time to DUMP.

I agree that it might be a good time to buy (not sure about the 'greatest'), especially if your are shorting bitcoins and already sold at a much higher price. But it's surely not a good time to sell, as you would likely be selling at a loss.

If you are going to panic sale, you have to do it before everyone else is panic selling as well. As that way you can get out before the crash.
237  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I have had enough of "bitcoin is dead" FUD *VOTE* on: December 16, 2018, 06:34:16 PM
When the market pumps, the forum and entire cryptocurrency space is in undated with 'bitcoin to the moon' and 'Bitcoin to replace fiat' content. So it is not surprising we have negative and pessimistic opinions when the market turns down.

I really do not think whales would open new accounts on BT to simply spread FUD. For one a new account does not have enough clout to influence the financial decision of any holder. Further more, whales are holders like everyone else, and they also need a bull run to profit from their Investments.
238  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't Loose Hope make it your Strategy. on: December 16, 2018, 06:29:39 PM
On seeing your topic I immediately expected a post on the market situation and how to navigate the bearish trend, alas it was on the more regular topic.

This Is Only My Opinion, Don't Take It Too Seriously That I haven't Merit At Yet.
People are not discriminated for their number of merits, after all everyone started at zero. Rather people who contribute little to discussions and sponge on the forum, the spammers are those criticized.

A Few Days Ago I Asked Someone Senior How to Get Merit He Told Me ThatPost some interesting topic or start a new topic here in the forum.

This goes without saying. You would not expect to be merited for a post which is not helpful, relevant or one without careful thought and effort.
239  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Using Bitcoin and Crypto For Newbies on: December 16, 2018, 06:05:28 PM
Bitcoin payment is very common when purchasing virtual services, like VPS. Most of the websites I patronize allow Bitcoin payment. And considering it is fast and cheap, it's the option I go with. Of course if I have bitcoins at that time, which is not on an exchange.
The launch of bakkt would be very beneficial and would make adoption much more seamless.
240  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: December 15, 2018, 03:20:11 PM
.
Demerit will also potentially be abused like Trust system, hence They mostly has not had plan to implement it.

Almost certainly, and when you consider that each merit awarded, generated half it's value in smerits which can be giving out. It would be quite challenging to draw up a demerit system.
Theymos of course can reverse a merit, and has once done that, when it was a clear case of hacked account. Aside that situation, merit awarding is not moderated.
