Any particular reason for this?

One less layer of trust, as long as you know what you're doing. And it won't be associated with your identity.

Doesn't necessarily need to be a paper wallet, you can also use Bitcoin-Qt client to make a new public address for BF that you can sign as well.

So what about the US share holders? Are we still just waiting for what we should do?

627  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread [Self-Moderated] on: October 14, 2013, 04:48:22 PM
I love how we all have to guess at what's gong on with ACTIVEMINING.

I don't need to guess, having taken my money out of ACTM at a huge profit back in August.

But yes, I do love how you, zum, and the other one or two die-hard cheerleaders don't even know exactly what your cheering for any more.

KnC shipped a much more complex chip in less time.

HashFast is getting chips 3x more efficient than KnC in a week.

ACTM is doomed.

If you're not in this anymore, then why do you keep coming in here to look at it and snark like a twelve year old...
Now step your silly ass out of this thread and kindly take a flying fuck at the pit of hell.
628  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread [Self-Moderated] on: October 14, 2013, 01:21:25 AM
Lets say that ActivingMining ends up not selling as many units as one would like.  Couldn't Actm just use those unsold units to mine?  It seems like a focus on selling units is short sighted if you actually trust that Actm will produce units that will exceed ROI.

Yeah I think that is all pretty obvious. It goes without saying. There is no focus only on selling, not sure where you get that from.

ACtM are going to both sell all the machines they can for instant income to reinvest and at the same time fill the mining farm up for longterm payouts.

this is great, assuming that Ken can move faster than a drunken sloth.  Hope he takes all his meds..

Must be tough to be involved with you in real life... negative people are a total downer.
629  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread [Self-Moderated] on: October 12, 2013, 04:28:01 PM
Wow very cool.

ACTIVEMINING is in an awesome position to be the first in the field of decentralized securities.

Some pioneering going on!

I uh heard somewhere that uh... Asicminer doesn't need a site because they have DISTRIBUTORS who have sites of their own (look at BTCguild or WTCR).  uhhhhhhhh!

Don't be a doof, absolutely not the same thing. And besides have you seen the page for asciminer on btcguild? Not exactly prime webby award winner.

It amuses me that Ken posts a biggy and this is what you focus on.

go figure rich kids.

So this site which everyone was saying is so bad and will hold back the company is taking in - at current growth rates - somewhere around 10million USD over the next 12months?

Anyone else want to stand up and say the site is crap or are you all eating humble pie now?

I do not code HTML and do not know how hard it is to make a site. Imho opinion from what I've seen from other websites that sell products the website for AMC/VMC is subpar. That said, I have not been one to complain about the direction of the company ( I am not a cheerleader though ) but I do not believe that just because growth rate is estimated to have to lead to 10million USD Revenue (from where?) a year means the site is the best it can be.

Even if the site is good, why not make it better? Have we met the point of diminishing returns on how good the site can be yet? I don't think so. The site being better and AMC/VMC having a better Marketing Strategy in place could lead to 20million USD Revenue in 12 months, so why do you sound like you are settling for 10million?

Also, if the company is looking at 10million a year in revenue, then does the company now have enough to employee someone to make a better site? Is this up for discussion, I'm not sure where Ken stands on this as I've believe I heard him deny help for the site before.

P.S. Ken, I think you're doing an awesome job. I feel as though with the shit + fan combination going on over at the Labcoin thread and the closure of BTCT and Bitfunder, you are now facing a lot more pressure than you have been before. I just want you to know that you have a lot of our support.

I uh heard somewhere's that uh... asicminer, big selling rig maker, doesn't even have a site.
633  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread [Self-Moderated] on: October 11, 2013, 06:44:00 PM
Try explaining to him that he should use traditional accounting, and you will get absolutely nowhere with him.  Guaranteed.

Yeah I've been here since IPO and I know it's morons with your attitude that kept Ken away from the original thread. Obviously that and his single mindedness to get the business moving. His site is making 90k (in the bank) a month and you are not happy. Much more in the near future. He's covered the exchange issues with his own sites - have you given him any credit for that foresight and work? No. He got a press release from eASIC in a weekend after huge forum pressure - any credit? Not much. He took the mine pic down. He restructured the entire IPO ffs - how is this not listening?

Every single stock has suffered recently yet according to you it's all Kens fault. You sound like a spoilt brat screaming at his mom for stopping him from running out into traffic - no reason, no logic, pure emotion. The only valid argument is lack of PR that's it. But Ken clearly doesn't think a proposition this strong needs the PR bandwaggon that LabCon and Terrahash took money on. To some that is not a failing - it's 100% belief. With his site taking 90k a month maybe he's right?

As for your 'he doesn't listen to ME' argument, he's been on here quite a bit since the news of the btc-tc shutdown (and obviously this is a new thread moderated by him personally) - so there was your opportunity for dialogue. You've pissed all over that chance with your immaturity and if I were him I'd ignore every word your write. You have acted like a total punk and that's how you deserve to be treated. Scream and you'll be heard? I don't think so punk.

VE's demeanor, entitled attitude and braggadocio over these past few months is very similar to the trust-fund-babies I have known.

A proposal to help US investors of this stock:

As we know, this stock, unlike most others, has sound foundation and solid dividend. If not for the BF issue, the share price will be well above 0.0003. US investors, however, have to sell this stock at current market price, which is pretty unfair if they believe the price will rise after everything calms down. They could at least lose much less if they could stay in the market for two to three months.

So how about instead of selling shares at current market price, US investors (or other investors don't want to submit documents) sell a contract to verified investors. By selling the contract, he could benefit a higher return if the share price recovers in certain period.

The contract includes the following elements (amount, current price, target price, expire date, commission). Then the buyer send BTC (amount * target price - commission) to an escrow service, and the seller transfer the shares to the buyer. Once buyer receives the shares, she/he releases (amount * current price) in the escrow to the seller. If the market price exceeds (strictly larger than) the target price before the expire date, the rest in escrow will be released to the seller. Otherwise, the rest in the escrow will be returned back to the buyer.

This proposal has various advantage. First, it's like an option escrowed out of the stock market, so once the contract is sold, the seller can safely leave the BF. Second, the seller does not need to trust the buyer. Third, this is a one-time trading so it is much easier than a private proxy service, which is too complex for an escrow service. Fourth, since this is a one-to-one contract, so there should be much less legal issues compared with a proxy service.

Any thoughts? If you are US investors (or other investors don't want to stay in BF), are you interested in this contract?

which stock does the above refer to?

info on Colored Coins and a long explanation/discussion about them on reddit:

Trades can be made in clients, but there needs to be a master list somewhere that says "this coin represents a share in this company".

That can either be on the company's site or on an exchange site (or both).

This thread on reddit has a decent discussion of how it would work

Colored coins (decentralized exchange): we need developers to complete client implementation faster
