1365  Economy / Lending / Re: 5BTC LOAN payed back DOUBLE on: September 18, 2012, 04:53:45 AM
Sorry for assuming, but your actions lead me to believe you're a scammer. Bye.

I plan on investing 5 BTC into a couple stocks at about .8BTC a share. and then selling those shares in a month. Say, stock goes down, i am also a miner and my calculations should have me making about 10 BTC by then and if all else falls through, good old Wells Fargo debit card to exchange USD for BTC. again, i am a newer member, but my dad is worth 4.56 million in stock. i believe i have a pic of his portfolio saved but i really dont want to post that. anyways he is assissting me. again, no matter what happens after you lend me 5 BTC, 10 will come back in 30 days time of transaction or potentially less if i decide to go ahead and exchange 500$ from my savings account into BitCoin.
How is that relevant?

DeathAndTexas... i'm from the south. You're southern hospitality seems to be lacking. Mother never teach you manners on how to treat a newcomer/guest/stranger?
1366  Economy / Lending / Re: 5BTC LOAN payed back DOUBLE on: September 18, 2012, 02:40:03 AM
I need a loan of 5 BTC for 1 Month or less depending on personal circumstances, at which point you will be payed back in 10 BTC. Anyone willing to do this? Plus i plan on getting my rep up here for future loans (both giving and receiving), and not only do i really need these 5 BTC, i am willing to pay back in double.

For what and can you provide identification?
1367  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: USD between MTGOX <--> DWOLLA on: September 17, 2012, 11:47:30 PM

" it will likely be similar to GigaMining's."  - which is ? Give me a link or the gist of it.

Here is the quote from the Giga thread:

Quote
To all interested parties:

I would like to request gigaminers and other interested parties feedback on the upgrade paths from Gigamining to Teramining. I have outlined my initial thoughts below but this is not final and could be changed based on community feedback.

I will offer a trade-up program from Gigamining to Teramining. Below is what each bond looks like from a numbers perspective:

Code:
                 GIGAMINING   TERAMINING
Total Gh/s      200Gh        4,000Gh
Mh/s per bond   5Mh/s        25Mh/s
Total bonds     40,000       160,000

You will notice that Teramining has 4 times the number of shares as Gigamining. This is to allow for both a free and paid upgrade path.

Free Upgrade Path
I will offer a 1:1 exchange of Gigamining bonds for Teramining bonds that costs nothing to upgrade. An example would be if you have 400 Gigamining bonds and don’t want to pay to upgrade, you can swap them 1:1 for Teramining bonds. This would represent a 5x increase in the bonds hashing power at no additional cost. So in this case, the 400 Gigamining bonds (2Gh) would be upgraded to 400 Teramining bonds (10Gh).

Paid Upgrade Path
I will also offer a 1:4 exchange of Gigamining bonds for Teramining bonds. So, if you have 400 Gigamining bonds (2Gh) and pay the upgrade fee, you will receive 1,600 Teramining bonds (40Gh) in return. The fee to upgrade will be .25 BTC per Gigamining bond. So, the upgrade fee on 400 Gigamining bonds would be 100 BTC.

Initial Sales of Teramining
There will be no public or private offering of Teramining to the larger community. The only way to receive Teramining bonds will be to trade-in your Gigamining bonds either through the free or paid upgrade paths. Any bonds not sold will remain in the gigamining sub-account and will not have coupon payments paid out on them.

Contract Changes
The only contract change between Gigamining and Teramining is the amount of Mh/s per bond.

Please leave your comments and questions below and I will answer them to the best of my ability. My hope is to solidify this in a timely manner so there is less uncertainty around the future of Gigamining.

Best regards,
gigavps

hey Garr, how do you plan to cope with the rising overall difficulty and the coming of ASICS into the game ?

Will our dividends drop to 0 or what ?

Whether we will make an upgrade is entirely decided by the underwriter. I believe he wants to see some BFL ASICs out in the wild before laying down tens of thousands more dollars. When we do offer and upgrade, it will likely be similar to GigaMining's.

The coupon payments for this week have eight confirmations going over to GLBSE and nothing has shown up yet... I just sent Nefario & GLBSE support messages.

It can take more than eight confirmations, just be patient.

Alright, I've never seen it take more than six.

1376  Economy / Securities / Re: Motion Raised! Starting a new FPGA mining farm/contract! Cognitive on [GLBSE] on: September 13, 2012, 11:22:50 PM
Is the electricity costs paid by the shares you kept in the IPO?
Yes. Although this will most likely never happen: if I am ever operating at a loss due to electricity I will raise a motion to subtract electricity from dividends.

How many hours on average do you estimate you work managing this mining?
During the beginning of the company it was easily 20 hours a week, and now it is 1-2 hours per week including PR.

Passive (or at least semi-passive) investments are awesome!
1377  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 25x X6500 Rev. 3 FPGA miners. CLEAN SETUP, FULLY FEATURED on: September 13, 2012, 04:57:12 AM
How many do you need?

I have some metal (and more expensive) ones that belong to Cognitive that I could sell. I bought them from the user tgmarks in March.

The added weight really helps with stability.
1378  Economy / Marketplace / Re: ["WAIT LIST"] BFL Mini-Rig Order Date/Ship Date on: September 13, 2012, 04:05:55 AM
BFL Really needs to learn how to package things a bit better, and some threadlock wouldn't hurt either... three of the boards in mine were totally loose and floating around the case half way across the country. I was really surprised when I reassembled the thing and all 20 boards showed up and mined as they should. Yes, 20 boards Cheesy

The USB hubs and mess of wires inside are pretty funny, and really shows the small-business side of BFL haha.
