1523  Economy / Marketplace / Re: ["WAIT LIST"] BFL Mini-Rig Order Date/Ship Date on: August 14, 2012, 10:10:13 PM
- there are 19 devices Huh

This is because one MiniRig is actually 20 (+/- 1) Next generation Singles (which probably won't ever be sold individually).

Are you guys really still actively posting here?
1525  Economy / Goods / [WTB] Jeep or Subaru on: August 13, 2012, 05:16:01 AM
I've been looking around for a car lately and I'm kind of stuck on Jeeps and Subarus, because I don't want to spend 500% of my income on gas for a truck, and you can't have nearly as much fun in a car. (Well, at least cars that cost as much as I want to spend... Tongue)

My price range is 3-10k USD. I will gladly pay in BTC or LTC as well.

Preferably it will be something raised, and possibly new wheels and tires. I need it to be a non-convertable. I have little preference when it comes to automatic/manual.

The vehicle must be clean on the inside.

You must factor in transportation to Northern Idaho, USA

Thanks!
Garrett
1526  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: Need coins? on: August 13, 2012, 03:38:04 AM
Cognitive is a great investment. We are currently awaiting the arrival of seven BFL Singles, and have already preordered SC upgrades for all seven of these. The share value is low now because the dividend:stock ratio hasn't corrected because we are waiting for the new hardware.
1527  Economy / Securities / Re: Motion Raised! Starting a new FPGA mining farm/contract! Cognitive on [GLBSE] on: August 09, 2012, 08:19:41 PM
I called the company and they ran a few diagnostics on the domain, all passing. I deleted an extra A name record which might resolve the issue, but we won't know for another 24 hours.

Apologies for the domain errors. The site can still be viewed using this link: http://macdonaldboats.com/cognitivemining/

Additionally, we have a dormant 108.01BTC. I think we should hold on to it until more asic companies start appearing, then make a decision. Any other suggestions here?
1528  Economy / Securities / Re: Motion Raised! Starting a new FPGA mining farm/contract! Cognitive on [GLBSE] on: August 09, 2012, 01:02:36 AM
Not sure why the domnain isn't forwarding to where it should ( http://macdonaldboats.com/cognitivemining/ )

I logged into GoDaddy (the web hosting service I use) and reforwarded it. If the problem persists in a few hours I will give them a call.

Is there any website where people organize users of BTC to meet IRL?

Yeah, this one.

1531  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What could cause Bitcoin to fail? on: August 05, 2012, 06:01:37 AM
As Bitcoin grows and gains popularity, and hate, and takes business from large and monopolistic foundations, a 51% attack will be a viable option for these people. The only problem is that most people with any sense realize Bitcoin is a great thing, and probably wouldn't want to kill it. But then again, all it takes is the man in control of a SHA256 optimized supercomputer pressing a few keys...

Is there any country that could sustain a 51% attack for long before another equally large superpower countered their attack?

If a 51% attack comes about, I wouldn't doubt that someone with power will be ready or at least willing to counter it.

Ohh and today's my birthday Cool
1532  Bitcoin / Meetups / Re: Unofficial attendance list - Bitcoin London 2012 on: August 03, 2012, 07:09:36 AM
It is more than likely that I won't be there, but it seems like it could be a golden networking opportunity in addition to being around competent people that don't think Bitcoin itself is a Ponzi... I'm going to try!
1533  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If you had $5000 to invest right now: Coins or Hardware? Whats your rationale? on: August 03, 2012, 12:30:51 AM
This Trend Graph is based on the market prices for each month, projected out until march 2013.

Horrible X-axis labeling.  What month does it start at?

You can't subtract from
march 2013

1534  Economy / Speculation / Re: This rally is a pirate bubble on: August 02, 2012, 11:35:48 PM
What if we start a new thread trying to get people to pledge to withdraw 50k coins from pirate on a certain date, September 1 for instance. This would create lots of fear of a collapsing ponzi therefore even more withdrawals than the pledged amount. If Pirate would not be able to take the loss (because of a ponzi), he would simply stop allowing withdrawals and run, probably a day or two before the planned mass withdrawal.

How many coins does he have, anyway?
1535  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Looking for a stable router to buy. on: August 02, 2012, 09:57:35 PM
I got a refurbished Netgear WNDR3700 about 6 months ago, and its awesome. No DDWRT compatibility, bit it gets the job done.

1540  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Circle of Trust [Game/experiment] on: August 02, 2012, 05:46:55 PM
Grr... it's not a gambling game, it's an experiment.

Therefore it should be moved to a new "experiments" section, or back where it came from Tongue

An experiment that suggests levels of trust may be directly linked to post count?

No, but it deters people from making a new account to steal the coins.
