762  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Can I use GUIminer on a FPGA? on: May 14, 2013, 03:31:51 AM
The closest thing to GUIminer that is compatable with BFL FPGAs is the BitMinter client.
763  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [TENTATIVE] - Stumptown Miners - Avalon PCB Assembly - West Coast USA on: May 14, 2013, 01:16:58 AM
I'm in the Pacific NW as well, and am interested in a large order on behalf of Cognitive.

I live a few hours from BC, so feel free to get in touch to coordinate a pickup/dropoff etc.

764  Economy / Securities / Re: Starting a new FPGA mining farm/contract! Cognitive Resurrected on [BTC-TC] on: May 13, 2013, 06:14:19 PM
Dividend seemed lower than it should be, any reason why?

Just bad pool luck.

This is very important:

Friedcat is now selling blades without auction.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=204030.msg2132683#msg2132683

I propose that we allocate 50btc of our COG.F funds to order one Blade. Between the growth fund and COG.F sales, we currently have slightly over 150btc erady to purchase hardware with, but I believe we should purchase one Blade then hold off for cheaper hardware in the future with the remaining coins.

What do you think, shareholders?

BTC-TC is undergoing a backend upgrade right now, so that's why dividends haven't been sent out yet. I'll send them as soon as I see that it's finished!

766  Economy / Securities / Re: Starting a new FPGA mining farm/contract! Cognitive Resurrected on [BTC-TC] on: May 06, 2013, 03:57:43 PM
I have a couple questions about the outstanding shares on BTC-TC.  I see that there are 8629 / 10420 issued and I see 1791 shares for sale at the 0.62 price point. I can't see long term charts on BTC-TC and I didn't start watching this security until Jan 2013.
The cognitive website says the IPO completely sold out so I'm wondering how these shares behave.

Who owns them? I see they aren't collecting a share of the dividends.  Are they just going to sit at that price point until they are purchased?

Thanks,

Waiting patiently as always like the rest of us.

Peace

Hi,

In the IPO, there were only 5000 shares. All of these IPO shares sold out very quickly. Shares issued after that were to raise capital for more mining hardware. The issued but not outstanding shares that you are referencing were put up for sale to raise funds for Avalon ASICs. Because they have not all sold, we haven't placed an order yet. They are owned by Cognitive and they do not collect dividends. Soon I will raise a motion to ask shareholders what we would like to do with these shares, whether it be holding or repricing them.

Just to avoid confusion in the future, you call always check http://cognitivemining.com/ for an updated inventory.

If you have any other questions, I'll be happy to answer.

Best,
Garrett
767  Economy / Auctions / Re: PyraMining 1.5 BTC Account Auction on: May 05, 2013, 09:34:00 AM
But you still own the wallet. I'm really interested in buying Pyramining accounts, but I think it's not safer enough. Sorry Sad

Because you're doubting him, I just thought I'd say that I'd vouch for bitpop. He's been transparent and trustworthy in all his dealings with other people, and I'm sure it'd be no different with this deal.

768  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WTB 50 BitBar - on: May 03, 2013, 10:56:27 PM
JR members shouldn't be allowed to trade period. Then we wouldn't have this sandbox shit. Also: Who the hell would deal for 50 bars or 30BTC with a member with 40 posts.

Then we would have the same problem with "full" members, then "sr" members, then "hero" members... I can't stress this enough: Although it does act as a nice filter when dealing with potential scammers,

You should not base trust off of post count!
769  Economy / Auctions / Re: X6500 "Reject" Grab Bag Auction on: May 03, 2013, 10:52:27 PM
Can I just buy one of them for .1 btc?

That would negate all the previous bids, so he'll probably say no Tongue
770  Economy / Securities / Synergy Buyback on: May 03, 2013, 10:47:35 PM
Hi all,

Because of the nature of the original contract between myself and Synergy's underwriter, it was no longer in my best interest to continue operating Synergy. Because of this, we have performed a buyback of all bonds as per the contract, at 105% the 30d average price.

I'm going to keep the ticker alive but inactive on BTC-TC, in case I want to issue mining bonds under a new contract in the future.

Best,
Garrett

Code:
Public Contract:

The holder of this bond will receive as coupons a number of Bitcoins equivalent
to 100% PPS output of one million hashes per second for the duration of time the
bond is held. All coupons will be paid on the Saturday of each week for the
previous seven days of mining. This bond is 100% underwritten by a private
investor. If operation is ceased at any time, during the same week the Investor,
not the Manager, will repurchase all bonds at 105% the 744 hour average price.
771  Economy / Securities / Re: Starting a new FPGA mining farm/contract! Cognitive Resurrected on [BTC-TC] on: May 02, 2013, 05:10:36 PM
Can you still upgrade the order?

Upgrade to what? The orders are for 60gh units if I am not mistaken.

I think there's some confusion here. We placed an order for upgrades for our seven FPGA Singles. We are going to send those to BFL, then they will send the new 60+gh/s ASIC boards.

I just logged in to BFL and accepted the new terms (increased volume & power consumption) so we're ready to receive the ASICs. Woohoo!

Update:

The guide will be coming in the next few weeks, because I'll be pretty busy. All I need to do is figure out how to compile the QT client for windows, and create a program to find the genesis block. Else I could include the nifty python script which I believe was written by the creators of freicoin.

I've considered making people pay for the guide, but instead I'll just be encouraging donations from the ones who gain some knowledge from it.

@Garr225

Whats your status? Cheesy

I'm super busy with school and other projects. To those who said they'd like to donate, thank you!

I'll have it all ready sooner than later.

Garrett
776  Economy / Securities / Re: Starting a new FPGA mining farm/contract! Cognitive Resurrected on [BTC-TC] on: May 01, 2013, 03:47:09 AM
What will be the GH/share when BFL delivers?

I've answered this several times on this thread already, but the BFL SC Singles we bought promised 60+gh/s each, and we have seven of them on order. These boards alone will provide 420+gh/s to Cognitve, which devided by the current number of outstanding shares (8619) = 48.72955099 mh/s per share.

After we spend out growth funds and COG.F funds, this value will only rise!

Cheers,
Garrett

Dividend accidentally not get put in again?

Yes, and I really apologize for paying dividends late two weeks in a row! In my mind that is unacceptable, so don't get used to it.

I was in St. Louis for the World FRC Robotics Championship where we took 14th place of 400 teams. We didn't get in the top 5 because we dropped our 120 lb bot from a 10 foot tall pyramid! So we were dysfunctional for two of our eight qualification matches which set us back substantially. We had a few super long and stressful days, so although it isn't a good excuse, that is mine for neglecting to pay dividends on time.

Because of this, I'm going to build a script that will use the BTC-TC API and transfer bitcoins to the account and schedule dividends automatically. Hopefully after that is in place this will be a non-issue.

Awaiting delivery of our ASICs,
Garrett

779  Economy / Lending / Re: Have coins to lend! Available balance: 10btc on: April 23, 2013, 01:16:18 AM
Looking for a loan of 3Btc for short-term at your fairest rate. (less than 2 weeks) Its just an advance really untill I buy some during the week. I have cash to pay for coins now and Im just waiting a few days asking around to get the best offer I can. So there no reason I wont be able to repay.

Really I'm just too impatient to wait to to quence my btc lust and too cheap to buy at market rate.

I say 2 weeks rather than 1 to give my self time to hold out and and to give an extra safety bumber. Smiley

If you have the money to buy coins I would advise strongly against taking out a loan. What happens if you take this loan out and then BTC jumps by $50/100 in the next week or 2? That would not be a good situation to be in.

I think that borrowing coins when the market is an incredibly bad idea. The only time people should really be looking to get loans is for a business start up venture where a bank is unlikely to loan it to you due to Bitcoin not being recognised as a currency legally.

Point taken. Ive got sorted anyway thanks Smiley

I'm extremely bullish, so no.

I've also declined all of the other requests since my last post here. A note to all scammers: don't waste your time with me.
