I also get this error but it doesn't seem to effect anything.

I can attest that BAMT has run extremely well in a production environment. Keep up the good work!

Making this the recommended mining platform for advanced miners on bitclockers.com, will get a tutorial done soon.

UPDATE: Going to seed this on a fat pipe for you.

Yeah I've liked it a lot so far.

Has anyone been able to get 4 cards working with it? It only sets 3, starts 3, and doesn't seem to notice gpu3 in the bamt.conf.

I've doubled checked the file, spacing, pools file. Copy/pasted it inside vim so all the spacing looks right. The aticonfig shows 4 cards. For some reason in common.pl it's only pulling the first 3.

A college student selling 6990's for half the market value with no pics and a lost ebay account seems legit.

lol
1124  Economy / Goods / Re: SELLING 2x 6990 mining rig $200 off FROM LAST TIME on: July 18, 2011, 06:34:04 PM
Hi clondeone, I'll take it off your hands for $1300. PM me if you want to sell.

I'll bid $1500.
1125  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: PCI-E riser/extensions on: July 17, 2011, 06:06:01 AM
Extenders arrived today, I had to hack the ends off them with a knife so that the graphics card pins could slot down, but it's now all installed and working fine with no performance reduction at all...

Cooling problem sorted, now I've even got room for a 4th card, chuffed  Grin

I don't think I've seen any setup like that. You're running 3x5870s? How is the heat with them lying flat like that? That seems like a perfect setup.

If you secured it and flipped the whole thing over (drawing air up from below, letting the hot air rise it might be even better. Nice job. =)
1126  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Rack mount case? on: July 17, 2011, 06:01:10 AM
Rackmount cases normally cost more - they need more stable material than normal once.

I get one for 12 cards in hopefully a week. On 2 boards, behind each other. That is 12 dual slot cards that live on extension cables and are decently switched Smiley 5 units high, cost around 250 USD.

got a link? That sounds awesome!

he's having it custom made. btw, it's cheaper to just get two 4U cases for $50-80/ea than get a dual MB case for $250. Unless there's something I'm missing?

Maybe it's a small rack. Sounds awesome regardless. =)
1127  Economy / Services / Re: [100 Ghps] "Catch 22 removal" service for new pool operators on: July 17, 2011, 05:50:23 AM
i don't understand the point of this. if a pool offered a no fee PPS system, people will be all over it within a day. why should a pool owner pay you 10% more? the only thing you're really offering is an "instant" 100 GH/s, rather than a 1-2 day delay.

A few people explained, I'll be the 3rd. =)

Starting a pool right now is very hard. No one wants to join a small pool because it might take days or weeks to find a block. That's days/weeks with no return. You can join a big pool and get paid 6-10 times a day. It ends up being roughly the same money but the bigger pools are much more steady and less variance. Which is why people prefer the big pools.

So if you WANT to start a new pool, you need at least 50 GHs otherwise people won't even bother. Vladimir is offering to help you start a NEW pool which gives you a fighting chance to attract new miners. Ideally if you grow after a few weeks you won't need Vladimir anymore.

Without a lot of hasing power yourself or a bunch of friends with a ton of hashing power you just have no chance at starting a new pool. The only real chance nowadays is to hire a big time miner to help get you going. The price is actually extremely cheap if you actually grow into a popular pool. =)

1129  Economy / Goods / Re: Spend your bitcoins on amazon with no transaction fees on: July 17, 2011, 05:38:57 AM
Do these Amazon gift codes ever expire?

Nope.

When you get the giftcard, apply it to your account. Then it's used and you have the money to apply at any time going forward on purchases.

If you haven't applied it, it can be revoked by Amazon. Lets say Jeremy freaks out and issues a chargeback. Amazon would revoke the GC. Lets say Amazon tries to shut down Jeremy, they might return his money and revoke the GCs. If someone gets into your e-mail they could use the code before you do. Don't ever let it sit there for months, you can apply and it won't expire.

While Jeremy seems very trustworthy, Amazon is who I wouldn't trust. I'd always apply the GC right away then you don't have to worry.
1130  Economy / Goods / Re: Custom Made Mining Cases! [Made to your demands!] on: July 17, 2011, 05:28:53 AM
I live in Oregon and I don't charge for labor so 100$ is the price for it labor and making it gives me something to do lol. If you live in Oregon you can come pick it up and shipping won't be really that expensive I would say 30$ at most.

No problem at all. Even in parts I assume you'd have to punch some holes and at least prep the parts. Cases look awesome though I'll keep it in mind. =)
1131  Economy / Goods / Re: Custom Made Mining Cases! [Made to your demands!] on: July 17, 2011, 05:16:41 AM
the first design is 100$ for parts and labor. Shipping I think would be 30-40$ for in the US

What about selling it in pieces or partially assembled? Where are you located?
1132  Economy / Goods / Re: Custom Made Mining Cases! [Made to your demands!] on: July 17, 2011, 05:13:35 AM
Idk if I can do that I mean 2 motherboards mean twice the gpu's but also is meaning that the gpu's in front of the will exhaust all the air to the new cards unless I figured out a nice way to cool it and having it 100 cm deep is very long it would be easier for me to do half that...

Also it may need to be a 6U instead of a 5U I have ran into a height issue with the cards not leaving enough clearance for the cpu cooler.

Where do you live?

How much to have the first model made and shipped in the USA? Looks badass.
1133  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTB] AMD AM3 chips, mobos, gpus on: July 17, 2011, 05:11:32 AM
Looking mainly for cpus, but really all pc tech I am willing to buy with BTC. Pm me with a priced list of what you currently have and we can discuss.

I have a Phenom II X2 560 Black Edition, new, in original box, never opened (security seal intact) you can even have the receipt too (bought it a week ago as part of a combo, I just needed the motherboard though). At current BTC rates ($13.5) I'd sell (and ship) it for 6.25 BTC.

1134  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~620Gh/s] Bitcoins.lc - No invalid blocks, Instant payout, EU, IPv6, 0% fee, LP on: July 17, 2011, 05:00:30 AM
Hash rate down to 280Gh/s now, workers falling off quick, something is definitely wrong with the pool..

Yeah major issues connecting. One rig is working, the other 4 are connecting for a few minutes, then can't connect for 10-20 minutes, then connect again for a few minutes.
1135  Economy / Goods / Re: No prescription, no hassles- bitcoins for meds. Keep it simple. on: July 16, 2011, 08:18:48 AM
Uh not trying to rain on your sales but this is illegal. Maybe that is obvious?

I'm not sure it's 100% illegal. Plus it's illegal where? In the USA? Europe? Africa? Middle East? The seller and most buyers probably aren't even American.

These are probably not blackmarket drugs. They are from countries that legally produce these drugs and legally sell them without prescriptions. I'd guess it's not even illegal on his end but might be illegal on your end if you're in the USA. For most of the other countries in the world, I'd guess this isn't even illegal. There's 1,000s of sites who will sell you, and mail you these exact drugs all over the world. Of course Schedule II drugs are highly illegal but these aren't Schedule II. I doubt the DEA would give two shits if you called them and told them you were buying Zoloft from some dude in Poland.

Bitcoin doesn't equal the USA and you'd be surprised to find out laws are quite different in other countries, who woulda thunk it. Tongue
1136  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gavin and Bruce doing Satoshi dirty work? on: July 16, 2011, 07:40:23 AM
What kind of pussy invents something and does not even support it himself. I get the whole remain anonymous thing cause there will be a shit storm over bitcoin but look at the leader of wikileaks. You may or may not agree with wikileaks agenda but you can respect that Assange is publicly standing up for what he believes in.

He created it people should be thankful for that. Since when do you have to dedicate your life when you create something cool? If he has a wife and kids he's doing the smart thing. Shit even if he doesn't he's doing the right thing. He can support it without being the poster child for inventing a drug cartels dream semi anonymous virtual p2p currency. There's a lot of good in Bitcoins, there's also a lot of bad in Bitcoins. You dig around tor/darknet you find some pretty sick stuff and you'll also find people buying some pretty sick stuff with Bitcoins. Bitcoins is to currency what freenet is to the internet. Freenet sounds great on paper until you realize it's packed full of child molesters.

Assange isn't the face of Wikileaks just because he believes in it. He's the face of it because he's on a personal war against the united states. Don't get me wrong, I love wikileaks and Assange, but he's a little nuts.

Satoshi should be proud of what he's invented and he doesn't owe us anything. Go be happy and enjoy life, we're all doing the same thing why should we demand he make a sacrifice we're not making? He has a duty because he's smart? Seriously? I hope he has 50k bitcoins and he's on a beach somewhere from where I'm sitting he's earned it.

What is the cost of the cases with all fans?

Like all 18 of the fans and all cases?

I have no idea what he's asking either, but can you tell me what fans if any come with the case?

I have no idea what fans come with it originally, what you currently have on it, or what you might pull off it (delta fans?) when the case is purchased. Thanks!
1138  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BAMT - Easy persistent USB key based linux for dedicated miners/mining farms on: July 15, 2011, 06:05:22 AM
I, currently, have working and fully configured LinuxCoin install. What do you think, should I switch to BAMT?

Probably not.  Most of the value in BAMT is that you can deploy a new mining rig in literally 60 seconds.  You've already done that.  If you've got LinuxCoin set up to where it mines on power on automatically, and provides the remote management you need, then no reason to switch.

Screenshoots look amazing. Got about an hr left in the DL if I can get it up and running I'll toss you a donation this is exactly what I've  been looking for. =)

Also what's the root password?

root password is changeme, as documented in the included readme.

i see 3 seeds atm, two of which are providing over 200Kbps.

I got another seed. Thanks for the info!
