41  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Betnomi scam exit & past winners must be careful with Betnomi-branded wallets on: August 05, 2023, 06:50:07 PM
Probably? More like an unsubstantiated rant and a very unlikely scenario. There is absolutely no evidence to support such claims
Unlikely? Betnomi getting shutdown was unlikely as well until they actually did. What evidence do you need to believe that a proven scammer may have something installed on the device to steal crypto? Well I'm not really much informed about whether Ledger can be tracked in such way or not; there's nothing wrong to be secure. No one should use the wallet; in fact, it was a big no from the beginning.
42  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: 1XBIT SCAMMED for 30.69mBTC on: June 19, 2023, 07:01:58 PM
They have a good record of freezing accounts that win more LOL. Before you join a casino, make sure you spend a few hours finding out what other people think about the casino. It's easy to find information on the Internet.

Haven't you read the comments and feedback about this site on thier ANN thread and also did you not see the negative feedback given to their manager plus everyone who advertise 1xbit on this forum ? If you knew all this why did you play at that scam site? Any particular reason?
Can't you see that OP is a newbie account, has 1 post & registered today? How would they know what's going on in the forum?
43  Other / Meta / Re: Clarification on Plagiarism Rule and Policy on: April 18, 2023, 10:58:10 PM
What qualifies as plagiarism on the forum?
What are the consequences for violating the plagiarism rule?
How can users ensure that their posts are original and do not violate the plagiarism rule?
Are there any exceptions or nuances to the plagiarism rule that users should be aware of?
1. Plagiarism is plagiarism every where. If you have copied someone else post and posted as your own, that's plagiarism. If you use a source link in the post, that's not.
2. Ban without any more consideration unless you are a significant asset to the forum.
3. To ensure users writing original post, ask them to write their own.
4. There are exceptions like not getting banned; told you above.
44  Other / Meta / Re: offordscott - ban appeal on: April 18, 2023, 07:59:03 PM
Can you please add the post here so that people can justify if that's the reason to get your account banned? Usually, if a few posts get deleted, your account must not be banned.
It's quite strange that you think your account was hacked, how did you regain the access from the hacker? You must prove that someone else had posted the message if that's the only reason you got banned for.
45  Other / Meta / Re: locked thread for no reason on: April 18, 2023, 07:55:33 PM
Don't you think you yourself should lock the thread? You already have got more than 80 replies. All these reply should get you the answer you are looking for. It's generating a lot of spams now.
When you create a thread and you get enough replies there to cover your answer, you should lock the thread to avoid spam.
46  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Confused with how LN works. on: April 16, 2023, 09:32:26 AM
I thought that in order to use LN you have to open a channel between two wallets and that this channel is opened with a transaction on the blockchain. So, for example, if I know a shopkeeper who accepts Bitcoin with LN, a channel would have to be opened between him and me, with a transaction on the blockchain, and from then on we could carry out transactions with LN. This, according to the idea I had, would make it convenient to use LN for cases where I know I am going to make repeated payments, but if for example I am travelling and I see a place where they use LN, I would not see the sense of using it for a single payment if a channel has to be opened on the blockchain beforehand.
Though above answer has shared the info, I would like to add a little to make it more easier according to my understanding.
There are nodes which settle payment between two parties. Imagine, there's a popular node which most of the shopkeepers is connected with. It makes sense why would most of the shopkeepers is connected with that node.
If you and your shopkeeper is connected with that node, you can pay him. You don't need to create a lot of channels.
For reference, my topic- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5202798.0
As you can see, my topic is a mental shortcut LOL, as I wanted to make it easier for grannies. In technical term, I can be a little wrong but in theory that's what happened actually.
47  Economy / Gambling / Re: List of crypto casinos with high wagering requirements on: April 15, 2023, 10:16:22 PM
Is there a list of casinos out there that don't have any wagering requirements? Off the top of my head, only freebitco.in but I'm sure there are more.
Freebitco is simply not only a casino or in fact, it's not a casino. It was designed with many other features. If I'm correct, they act as bank and offer interest on the savings LOL. Therefore, you must not mess up freebitco with other traditional casino.
I can't remember if there's any single casino which offer no wagering requirements on no bonus deposit.
48  Economy / Gambling / Re: List of crypto casinos with high wagering requirements on: April 14, 2023, 08:33:39 PM
Important note: I want to clarify that Im not attempting to discourage or accuse any casino published on this list. Rather I am compiling this information to make it more accessible for users.
LOL, you should encourage people not to use all this shit as these casino is literally forcing you to lose your money. Requiring 5x on no bonus deposit is quite a stupid idea; well, they want you to lose everything you deposited. Encourage everyone to avoid them. Don't get biased because there are few known casinos on the list.

1x for normal wagering requirement and at least 5 times the deposit amount when suspected of coin mixing
I guess it's a system to create an excuse to steal other people's money. Someone got a big win & wants to withdraw? Make them a suspected coin mixer and require 5x wagering so that they can lose the whole deposit in the casino.
49  Other / Off-topic / Re: Beginners avoid buying forum accounts. on: April 10, 2023, 07:27:01 PM
On the seller's end, wanting to sell an account shows it holds no value to them. Probably that had an account farm back in the days when merits were airdropped and now have a bunch of high ranking accounts with no value on the forum. Or they could be trying to swindle you by either selling a tagged account or recycling the same account; sell it to one person, recover it and sell again.
Most of the sold accounts are from old era. It's because that back in 2015, forum database was hacked and most people haven't yet changed their password since then although theymos asked everyone to change their password. Those who didn't change, have lost their account access. That's the most usual source of bitcointalk account from my experience in the forum.
50  Economy / Gambling / Re: Duelbits limiting winners on minor leagues on: April 10, 2023, 07:15:49 PM
I haven't checked which minor league you are talking about but they are very subjective to get manipulated. Maybe they have found your activities a bit of suspicious which is why they limited you. That's common as said above. You would rather move on. It won't help you increasing your limit. Try another bookie instead.
51  Other / Off-topic / Re: Beginners avoid buying forum accounts. on: April 10, 2023, 05:40:32 PM
There are a lot of risks of using a purchased account here. Seller can recover his account anytime they want if they have a staked bitcoin address here. It's also possible that seller did crime with that bitcointalk account in the past. When you are going to buy the account, you can fall in a trap.
There are a lot of motives behind buying an account but it's pretty much easier to rank up here.
52  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: sinbad-mixer.io is this a clone site? on: April 10, 2023, 05:08:34 PM
Buying similar domine names isn't a practical solution to prevent cybersquatting, imo. The same domains with other common TLDs have already been registered and buying them may cost a fortune. Besides, there is a high chance to miss some of them. So, this is only going to give customers a false sense of security believing that even if they make a typo they will be redirected to the real website.
It's the visitors duty to check and double check the the URL before making a deposit. It's also the community's duty to report phishing websites.
Popular TLDs wouldn't go for scam. Some of them are in use for purpose already. So, popular tlds aren't going to be a threat for sinbad. There will be few looks like domain and unpopular tlds which can pretend them.
Anyway, it's not a total solution. It's a part of the solution.
53  Other / Beginners & Help / Block Transaction Count on: April 08, 2023, 10:49:28 PM
I'm looking for a website which shows transactions count for every block. In the block explorer like blockchair or others, we can see the transaction count for each block. I have to check individual block to get this data. That's huge time consuming when I would like to see data, for instant, all the blocks from the last few weeks. Is there a site which can get me organized transactions count for bitcoin blocks?
54  Other / Meta / Re: What is the great mistake that you ever done in bitcointalk forum since you join on: April 08, 2023, 06:15:29 PM
Let me be honest. The great mistake was joining signature campaign; sometimes I feel like I'm posting low-quality here which doesn't make any sense LOL. It was happening when I was in campaigns that used to require X posts in a signature week. Though I have quit it so many times, I enjoy receiving the BTC; hence, I didn't quit completely.

During my early days I got a 1 or 2 week ban for low quality posts for a sig campaign I joined. At the time I barely knew anything about the forum and had not taken the time to learn any of the rules. If there is anything a newbie should do, it's read the RULES and the stickies in each section.
Thank you a lot for being honest. Shit happens & most people don't want to understand that. We are lucky that you weren't permanently banned. Otherwise, how would we get a quality campaign manager like you?
55  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: sinbad-mixer.io is this a clone site? on: April 08, 2023, 05:44:27 PM
I think Sinbad should buy almost all domains near on their domain name to avoid this phishing and cloning.
Not all the mixer cares a lot about their customers; don't know how Sinbad would take this suggestion but that's the best they can do. They should buy all the domains related to their domain name. That wouldn't cost them a lot unless they would try for some popular domain extension.

I don't know whether this is really their competition or there are scammers who deliberately make it without involving the original, but what is clear is that every time there is a popular mixing site there will be an imitation site and including sinbad which is now known on forums as popular mixing.

This won't even be far from the previous mixer scam, which has been cloned a lot, but will the official Sinbad take this action so that its name remains clean from clone sites?
I guess no competition; rather it's the scammer we used to see targeting popular mixers all the time. Now that ChipMixer shut down, they are looking for the rest LOL.
56  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can you consider yourself as a risk taker if you buy bitcoin? on: April 08, 2023, 05:33:05 PM
so for me (hoarding since 2012 and have no desire to cash out any time soon) i dont feel im at risk at all. even though there is a small chance(risk) that devs completely break bitcoin one day
Great to know that you are hoarding since 2012; haven't you ever sold any Bitcoin? Legend!
Why do you think DEV will break Bitcoin completely one day? What are you pointing to here? I'm a little aware of your argument here though I have never checked them thoroughly. Should it be the same as satoshi left us? I guess no; otherwise, there will be a lot of lacking to be accepted worldwide.

Do you think volatility and the possibility Bitcoin will be banned in your country aren't risks?
Banning Bitcoin in a country isn't anymore something which will affect the market unless they are some developed country where Bitcoin is used the most but that's not gonna happen in a developed country.
57  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Cloudbet stealing my funds on: April 07, 2023, 07:21:51 PM
Most of the casinos, and exchanges always put an alert that if you deposit the wrong cryptocurrency instead of the one you were supposed to. You are thinking that it's pretty much an easier job. Just access the address with the private key and refund the fund. It's an easy process but it's not an easy process when you have to go through support. Because not everyone has the access to the fund; only a few have. Staff/Support have to forward the message and & with enough proof. That's a very lengthy process. Why would they waste their time for a mistake you did?
58  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin usage in crime activity. on: April 07, 2023, 07:13:03 PM
Hello crypto bros.
Today I want to discuss a pretty big problem that bitcoin adoption is facing.
Bitcoin is great in means of anonymous transactions and getting away from the banks and government control, but the problem is, it's the exact problem why criminals are using it. And it's a pretty big one. I'm not saying that criminals use bitcoin more than fiat, but we all can see that illegal services are widely accepting bitcoin.

The problem here is that the system should have some way to fight these criminals because we don't want bitcoin to be associated with drugs and sex trafficking,  but the problem is, by solving these problems we should get rid of anonymity which is a pillar for the bitcoin technology, so it can't be done. And this problem might be a big obstacle in mass bitcoin adoption and regulations that are coming.
You know what? We have knives that we use for cutting fruits, vegetables, and many other useful things; well, some use it to kill others as well. Should knives be illegal? Who/which is the risky one here? The knife or the user? Make some sense dude when you say it's Bitcoin that is helping drugs, sex trafficking, etc. you acknowledged how fiat is helping all these more than how Bitcoin is.

Quote
So I want to hear your opinion: how to make bitcoin technology "safer" so we could fight a crime committed with crypto and help with bitcoin adoption without taking away the main features of bitcoin like decentralization and anonymity?
Bitcoin transactions are transparent, not private. You can track most txs if you put effort and investment. There are a lot of on-chain analysis services. While the chance of tracking fiat is very much less than Bitcoin.
59  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can you consider yourself as a risk taker if you buy bitcoin? on: April 07, 2023, 07:06:03 PM
i would be a risk taker if i didnt have bitcoin.
Oh man, you just had the best piece of comment here; made my day. Legendary comment from a Legendary Bitcoiner. The way Bitcoin is dominating the investment market, one would feel risky if they don't have Bitcoin in their portfolio & I'm sure we gonna see most of the giants will embrace Bitcoin and make sure they have Bitcoin in their portfolio.

i would be a risk taker if i didnt have bitcoin.
Yes buying Bitcoin is already a risk since the value may drop although slightly except for halving periods when it drops greatly.
But the truth is that it is a risk Worth taking . buying Bitcoin is one of the easiest investment you can make
So I advise you to carry on your investment you definitely will not regret it
Can you read the sentence once again you Edcrypto! You may haven't noticed what he just said. Read again & again.
60  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Microstrategy bought more bitcoin on: April 05, 2023, 10:49:58 PM
this news impact price of bitcoin ?
It does! Every time Microstrategy buys bitcoin, bitcoin gets dumped though the reversal should be the case. I don't get why bitcoin price drops when Saylor announces BTC purchase LOL.
Well, I guess this isn't something we should be happy at. They are trying to get the big piece of the cake; isn't it going to make him influence the BTC price significantly? I guess yes, that's what going to happen in the near future.
