I still don't think Real Madrid and PSG are the favorites after the first matches of the semi-finals. They were seen as favorites before the matches, but after the matches we saw that Bayern and Dortmund still had strong odds, and Dortmund even had the advantageous score in the first match. It is difficult to predict what the name of the final will be, but all 4 teams can be finalists and they are strong enough to beat each other.
Well talking about favorites for the UCL finals, before the first leg of the semifinals alot of us saw PSG and Real Madrid being the major favorites for the finals but I think after the first leg match, the whole narrative is beginning to change. This is what football is all about as it’s very unpredictable till after the final whistle. Real Madrid started quite on a good note in the semifinals agu and Bayern Munich though they looked like the underdogs as Bayern were able to exploit on their weaknesses. In all Real Madrid were able to at least get a draw while they head to the Bernabeu for the return leg and this puts them in a comfortable position to qualify. As For Psg they’re a goal down already as you can see how they totally lost the midfield battle in the first leg aganist Dortmund and you’ll just imagine how much of energy they will have to put into the second leg. Well they’ll be playimg infront of their home fans so all hope isn’t lost yet as they can still be able to turn things around. Yes, I know that the SPL will change or stop buying European players at high prices, but the same thing will really not apply to teams that really need these European players for better development.
If just stick with what have, will clearly be left behind by other teams considering that some team have really got the right players and can improve their overall performance and for team that don't keep up with developments, they will definitely be left behind.
Just look at Al Ittihad few seasons ago, they were great and strong team, last season they even managed to become SPL champions, but after many other team brought in the European players, Al Ittihad was left behind and unable to compete well.
Even Al Ittihad was unable to keep up with the competition with Al Taawon and Al Ahli or Al Nassr, this is proof that players will really influence the quality of play of each team and indeed Al Ittihad needs players who can change conditions like this.
And regarding Salah, even though his contract with Liverpool has expired, I not sure Al Ittihad can bring him in on free transfer because Klopp will retire and of course there is new coach who will definitely still ask Salah to extend his contract.
Well in the SPL there was a rule which would be limiting the signing of Players from Europe because the government felt the price tag of these players is slowly going to crumble the league they’re trying to build. Well it’s quite understandable as the price to an extent is pretty hight but I think stopping the signing of European players is not the right way to go. Rather I think a better solution would have been on putting a limit on either the price for signing an European or the number of European players to be signed by the club. These clubs need European players to be signed in order to be able to go through about their league as these players come into the club with wonderful experiences. It’s evident in the team’s performance this season as you can see Al Ittihad whom used to be one the main teams now turning to a shadow of themselves because they didn’t recruit amy European player. You can see how teams that got European players how they’re now fairing in the league. Judging from all these cases, I think a perfect solution will be to mix up with the European players but to still keep the league pure, there should be proper restriction on the amount of European players a club can aquire. This will help still maintain the league standard and create a level playing ground for all the teams in the league. |

The last weeks of the season games seems to be a walk over for Girona as they've in the first legs played to their best and have mastered rightly their strategies and the opposing team approaches, and so they've got better experience to countering the moves that'll be made. Of all seasons, asides the top teams like Atletico, Barcelona and Real Madrid, there's little or no heated contests to stay on top amongst average teams. Although their performances this season have been impressive but just as Villarreal who managed to get reasonable in the European contests and even Sevilla as well, this season, Sevilla is nowhere to be found in their usual league standings. Between December till now, they've managed to stay shielded from a huge downfall. Points are needed to survive the final phase and they've got to earn it. They lost last weekend, hopefully errors would be corrected and they'd earn their victory this weekend. At this moment, both fixtures for the second leg would be heated up as the teams would be eager to play extra to make sure they secure qualification. Real Madrid I believe will do their best in Spain considering their game records this season and also their quest for the trophy. They have a goal advantage already, they only need to seal it and they'll do so well when they're able to keep a clean sheet in the second leg. PSG would host Dortmund and I personally believe the atmosphere would be different and they'd give Dortmund the game of the season in a few days. Atalanta or Marseille aren't tough teams and if I'm to predict the qualified team to be, I'd go for Atalanta based on they are a little above the average performance of their normal performance. The semi finals won't be an easy battle as anything really can happen on the field of play. Leverkusen's qualification to the semi finals of this season's UEL was also historic as they kept their unbeaten record still in play after drawing to West ham. This season they've been an undaunted team and they really have all it takes to finish the season with the unbeaten record intact and two trophies in their shelf. Even though Harry Maguire fumbled last season, defenders like Lisandro Martinez, Tyrel Malacia, Luke Shaw, Diogo Dalot, Wan Bisakka and Victor Lindelof.
He got the backing of the fans and stuff, he won them the Carabao Cup Competition and qualified them for the Champions League Competition, got them to the finals in the Fa Cup Competition which they should have won if not for the double blunders of David De Gea in that same finals.
And when you looked at him w he played last season, most of Manchester United build up cane from behind with either of Luke Shaw, Lisandro Martinez and Tyrel Malacia starting this build up, but when you look at this season z you don't have any these names mentioned consistent, so it has affected gow he played.
When you go on scheming against him to be sacked,can you also lay down facts from his first season and stuff? He is not a bad manager, when you think for yourself, but when you allow whatever the media says get to your head, then I don't know what t say no more.

Well I can tell this post is from a Man United fan who’s so passionate on wanting to keep ETH still keep his job at the club. During his first season at the club he was able to make som huge impact and that is the confidence most of the fans have for him to still be able to remain in charge at the club. He was able to win the club a UCL ticket and also be able to take the team to success in Carabao Cup; moreover you can’t fail to ignore he took them to the finals of the FA Cup though they lost but it’s a notable achievement. For this success you can’t fail to recognize some top player he had especially in the midfield and the defense line. The defense line has been pretty great that has been one of the real reason he was able to succeed last season. Well this season started and you can see most of those players who helped him go to success have been absent maybe dur to injury or differences with the coach himself. With the competitive nature of the EPL, a team with injury crisis will sure be in crisis and missing most of his players last season has forced him to bend his tactics which most times don’t usually work for the team. I feel there should be a balance and there should be proper understanding that ETH couldn’t be the problem though because he’s achieved quite some good records in his first season. I think the overall rating should be considered before speaking ill of a manager. For ETH, I think circumstances at the club is what’s making it challenging for him to be able to do well at the club. |

Congratulations, you were right in your prediction, both teams scored and the game had 4 goals. It was a game in which Porto started very well, scored the first goal, caused danger to Sporting's defense and in the 1st half Porto scored the second goal and they came out of the 1st half winning without conceding a goal. I confess that I really thought that the game was already won and that in the 2 half all the port needed to do was continue playing as well as they were doing in the 1 half. When the 85th minute arrived I immediately thought that the game would end with Porto's victory, because Porto were winning the game by 2 goals. But I was shocked when I saw Sporting's goal in the 86th minute and in less than 1 minute Sporting scored the second goal, the Porto coach's irritation was visible on the field. With this draw from Sporting, I think Sporting is champion. I no longer see any remaining team being able to make Sporting lose points. Gyokeres was Sporting's hero in the game against Porto
The match between Benfica and Braga is a big match in the Portuguese League that holds a long rivalry. For this kind of match you can see how intensed it was as the drama and excitement was never lacking in the match as the fans were both pleased whilst watching their team play. For the match between Vitoria Guimaraes and boavista, there was a red card in that match for Boavista which left them frustrated and the home team were able to take advantage of that event. Now this gives the home team the advantage to be able to get to an European competition next season and with the right mentality, it’s going to be quite possible. The match between Porto and Sporting was another thrilling match that still had its excitement, Porto were able to maintain the lead until Sporting were able to get a come back goal that got the match to draw. The goal scorer was really up and doing in the match and that showed his ability to be able to step in, with this result the match was able to keep up Sporting stand for the title as good strength. PSG being able to reach the finql will be one great one I think it will be the last limelight for Mbappe while in PSG colours and the fans will really want to see their club play in Wembley in the finals. It is surprising to see Liverpool performance which we can say as favourites to win since the beginning of the season, but instead their performance decrease the rest of the season with less than 10 games left, after getting a draw against Manchester United in their last 10 matches, Liverpool continue to experience a fairly drastic decline in performance not only in the Europa League, But the bad results continue to be extended by Liverpool to date in the English league, defeats to Crystal Palace, Everton and draws against Westham have certainly made the direction of the competition for championship between Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal currently change, with continuing to get a negative trend in the rest of their matches certainly it is certain that Liverpool have now come out of the championship competition this season.
The competition for the EPL champion this season is now only between Arsenal and Manchester City, although currently Arsenal is one point ahead of Manchester City, of course Arsenal also cannot be favorites to win the Premier League this season because the advantage of Manchester City who have more games left, for now of course Klopp cannot give a better farewell gift than the Carabao Cup trophy and also next season's Champions League ticket for fans, because liverpool has been eliminated from all existing competitions such as the Europa League, FA Cup and also the English Premier League.
Liverpool looked like a very strong contender when they started the league as they were very clinical while taking their chances and that made the league race look as a 3 man horse race. It was pretty fierce and with Klopp’s departure, a lot of us thought it will be proper they give him a good sendoff by winning the league. Well at a point the team lost out on the FA Cup and that affected the clubs mentality, then that went on to their European competition, they were also eliminated. The mentality of being eliminated I think is what affected them as they weren’t able to chase on the league and they dropped points in some game. They lost some games that they weren’t supposed to and they also got draw in most matches and that affected the clubs standing. Now we have just Arsenal amd Man City in the race because they’re the only teams that have been consistent most times this season with Arsenal being able to score great goals. I think the farewell has been cut short off for the fans as the only farewell he can give the fans is Carabao Cup and the ticket to the UCL. Now I think the new coach must start making plans on his team he’ll use to challenge for the league next season. |

Last season Arsenal also performed well but towards the end it was disappointing to experience 2 defeats from the last 3 matches so that left Manchester City's opportunity to overtake wide open and Arsenal had to end it by failing to win the title, and currently Arsenal still has 3 matches remaining and must be won. Don't let what happened last season happen again this season which will make lose chance in the race for the Premier League title. The problem is that Manchester City is currently at the top of the standings if they have played all their matches but if they suffer one defeat then there is still hope for Arsenal to win the title. but with a note that he must not make mistakes until the end.
For both schedules, they actually both have opponents who will prevent them from winning the title, Manchester City faces Tottenham Hotspur and Fulham while Arsenal faces Manchester United. Statistically, Manchester City and Arsenal are the favorite clubs to win over them but they can also be an obstacle by making things difficult. The top club achieved a draw, causing one of the top clubs to lose their chance of winning the title, either Arsenal or Manchester City.
Of course Arsenal have the shot of wanting to win the league but there’s a clause which is for Man City to have a draw in any of it’s 4 remaining matches. Man City have an outstanding which gives them the better chance of winning the league and that makes Arsenal to want to keep being on an excellent note while they hope on City dropping point. Arsenal last season were on the verge of winning the league but at a point they got down as they lost some games in the final lapse of winning the league. Well this season same mistake was at a point almost repeated which was the lost to Villa but they got themselves and have been excellent since that lost. Now they are on the run again but City still seem to be a stumbling block for them and for them to be able to win the league they need to maintain consistent winning while they hope on City to lose points. Both of them have very fierce opponents that could be able to stop them from winning the league and they will have to perform beyond normal to be able to win. Any one who loses out gives the other the league already and if you check it sincerely I feel Arsenal stands no chance to win the league. Well let’s keep watching how interesting things go out in the EPL as this league is quite competitive and I love it. |

one beauty about playing as an home team is that with the support of your large fans and because you don't want to let them down, it gives this extra energy to put in the fight and every cheer is a damn encouragement that pushes you to go the extra miles. Dortmund made great use of this and outplayed PSG throughout the first half. Hakini wasn't able to subdue the young Dortmund left back and dembele wasn't doing well with his passes and it made it all deficult for mbape to have a comfortable opportunity at the attack. The good thing is that it's just a difference of one goal and going into the PSG home, if they will be able to cease the opportunity effectively and score two goals ahead of the Dortmund team, maybe PSG can think of securing a spot in the champions league finals but as it stands now, Dortmund is the only team that's at an advantage above the other three teams in the semi finals and if I'm asked to give my honest take on what the finals might look like based on what played out in the first leg, we might have a dramatic turn of event where Dortmund might end up facing Bayern munich in the finals cause from intensity point of view, both Dortmund and Bayern munich played far better than PSG and real Madrid.
The 2nd semi final went down yesterday between Dortmund and PSG and the match was one thrilling one to watch as Dortmund real surprised us yesterday with the way they performed quite greatly. Dortmund were able to get the lead to take them to the 2nd leg as leaders in the match and this is a big feat for them as they move to the 2nd leg. Borussia Dortmund were able to capitalize on the advantage of their home ground and were able to get the lead and only goal in the match yesterday. This win for Dortmund gives them i mean the German League, the advantage of them wanting to reach the final as Bayern who are the other team were able to end their match in a draw. Well all semifinals will now head to the 2nd leg to know who makes it to the finals. Well as it stands PSG still have the ability to get to the finals as they can also be able to use the home advantage and turn things around for their good. Seeing psg have a come back in France will be real an exciting scene to watch and it’s quite possible because this PSG side are very determined. A German Final is quite possible and I can tell the German fans real want to see that final happening again. Dortmund have more advantage of being able reach the finals because they have the lead but the issue will be how much they’ll be able to fight in the 2nd leg. |

Olympiacos can do whatever they would like but it would be in vain anyway. Neither away nor home I believe they can't get a good result against Aston Villa. As probably Aston Villa will demolish them in the 1st leg already there wouldn't be much motivation left for Olympiacos players later on.  For the other one, I'm favouring Fiorentina of course. I respect Club Brugge's effort so far but I don't feel like this is their time to reach the finale. It's going to be the first time ever these teams face each other by the way. Aston Villa - Fiorentina. I expect these ones to challenge each other for the trophy.  Aston Villa under Unai have been one very improved side as this season in the league they have been able to secure top 4 spot and just need a win to cement that. Unai is one very sound coach and good tactics have now brought Aston Villa back to the limelight in England. Their performance in Europe too hasn’t declined as they are mow in the semifinals of the conference league and the only England team still remaining in Europe. This match isn’t going to be a very tough one for the team as they’re more sound tactically than Olympiacos team. Aston Villa will be well composed when they’re away but I trust the fierce attack of Diaby, Bailey and Watkins to do the damage at the Villa park. It will be one thrilling encounter and very exciting to see Villa in the finals of the conference league. In the other semi final, I think Fiorentina stands a better chance in the finals and a final with Aston Villa will be thrilling and exciting to watch. I can’t wait for the season to end let’s see the new shape of European competitions. |

Would we be so narrow-minded as to curse Harry Kane? even though he made a big contribution to Bayen Munich with his goals and assists. And if the curse is true, Tottenham should be able to win the title this season, but they couldn't get it.
I think it's more appropriate to say "curse" just to add entertainment, not to go into a more serious realm like what people are currently doing with Harry Kane. We can also still see Bayern Munich in 2nd place now, and to be honest that's not a bad position, it's just that they can't defend the title this season. After all, they also still have the Champions League, and if they succeed there (even if it is difficult), what will the people who have said that Harry Kane is the reason for Bayern Munich's failure this season in the Bundesliga say?
Kane's addition to the German side have been fruitful. He's been a major in their positive game outcomes, even though they're striving to get past their competitor on the table. Kane has been impactful and his contract is still open till 2027 with Munich which gives him ample time to do more with the team. He's been consistent in his job as the striker and he's not stopping at just letting goal chances slip by him. He's quality and his ability speedily increases weekly. His time at Tottenham was worthwhile and him joining the German side have even more increased his worthiness to be a standing forward. This is a door to greater football awards opportunity. He's young and has got spare time at his disposal too. So far he's been doing explicitly well for Munich which should be appreciated, even if his time with Tottenham had also been great. It's good he switched to Germany as he's gathered additional experience too. Even though he's done his best to score as much goals needed to place him at the toppest stand of the goal scorers in the league, it still isn't enough to place Munich in the 1st placed position either. He's done his best as the striker but generally, it's a team and collective effort to put Munich in the first position spot. This season isn't just the best for them as their performance is greatly different from their usual performances in other seasons. In the few games left this season, Munich still didn't have a chance at the Bundesliga trophy this season. They'll just have to try their luck next season. Bayern Munich haven’t been their best this season amd surprisingly when they signed Harry Kane, so many thought they’ll be really clear off the league but the reverse happens to be the case. Bayern Munich haven’t been impressive in their performance this season and it’s one thing that the new coach needs to worry about on the perfect tactics for this set of players. |

Yes, I also didn't think Inter could fail in the UCL. In fact, if you look at Inter's achievements in the UCL last season, Inter was able to reach the final and become runners up after being defeated by Manchester City. So Inter's failure in the last 16 of the UCL this season was really beyond my expectations. Moreover, what was surprising was that Inter lost in the round of 16. Even though in that match I was very optimistic that Inter could definitely win against Atletico Madrid. The reason is that in the first leg Inter were already superior on aggregate over Atletico Madrid. So my guess is that in the second leg Inter will definitely win and qualify for the quarter-finals. But unfortunately Inter lost to Atletico Madrid on penalties. Perhaps the biggest mistake that made Inter lose when facing Atletico Madrid in the second leg was because they defended too much. So that Atletico Madrid players have more freedom to organize attacks. And As a result, Inter conceded in the final minutes and had to undergo a penalty shootout. However, it is not a problem this season that Inter lost in the UCL. Because as @Uruhara and @W Jr discussed, Inter is currently winning in the Italian Domestic League. So Inter's defeat in the UCL can be cured by the Scudetto title which they will definitely get this season.
It's understandable that Inter Milan weren't able to scale through in their UCL encounters but their level of performance was top-notch and highly places as they remarkably did their best to stay in the contests but as always there'll always be a greater team. There's no point being disappointed in them because even though not being able to advance in the European contest, they made sure that they secure the league trophy to themselves in a grand style. Their all time performances this season is one that should be highly ranked and commended. They did well to make a good difference this season. Their winning the trophy has given them an extra opportunity to showcase themselves in next season's UCL contest. This season, they've done well in outdoing themselves and putting up a different and better side of the usual Inter Milan we all know. They're good at what they do at the moment and hopefully, they'll do better in seasons to come too. Comparing their performances in all seasons past up until now, it's been another remarkable height they've attained. Generally, this season has given football a different atmosphere being that teams now surprise everyone to being unpredictable on the pitch and until the final whistle is blown before a game result can be known. Just difficulty in predictions are the latest occurences but from the beginning, Inter even though outdoing themselves ensured that the initial hope of the trophy was kept high till it was won. |

However, PSG did not lose all points, at least PSG still got 1 point in this match, even though PSG did not get the full point, in fact PSG is still the best club in League 1. I understand PSG's less than optimal performance in League 1 even though it is quite clear in terms of player quality. PSG is superior to Le Havre but in my opinion PSG just wants to keep their players fit so PSG just plays more relaxed in League 1 without having to experience a lot of pressure because they have to prepare for the match against Dortmund in the Champions League. And currently PSG has secured the League 1 trophy so it will make PSG even more enthusiastic to focus on the Champions League to get the title too.
Today PSG will travel to Germany to hold an important match, namely the semifinals of the Champions League, PSG will play with enthusiasm but will also experience great pressure because they will visit Dortmund at home. Dortmund is not a club that can be underestimated PSG, a fellow elite club in the league each club has its advantages and disadvantages so we cannot underestimate any club. Dortmund will try hard in the first leg but PSG will try hard to hold Dortmund to a draw rather than suffer defeat, I can't wait for their match tonight.
Over the weekend a lot of thought PSG will be able to grab the win so as to be crowned Champions of the League. Well surprisingly the match ended in a draw and they were able to just get one point off this fixture. Well even with the draw then PSG is still seen as the best team in ligue 1 and no other team still looks to be able to challenge them. Well I think the draw isn’t a bad result owing that some key players were kept away because of their UCL fixture this week. PSG know how important it is for the fans of they’re able to get to final of the ucl and as such they are all out to at least be able to reach that dream/target. In the match against Dortmund it won’t be an easy one especially as Dortmund will also want to get to final too and woth the great comeback against Athletico Madrid, you can imagine what PSG are in for. The pressure will be so much but I think Enrique is better in tactics and he should be able to use the right tactics to help his team get to the finals. The UCL is Europe’s biggest stage and getting to the semifinals is a big feat and as such, no opponent should be underestimated, so I think PSG will take this imto consideration and go with the right tactics to win the match. |
