1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Nicehash power saving on: March 04, 2021, 03:23:22 PM
Anyone using Nicehash software here? I find something interesting using the software today and I've been trying to find ways to limit power draw when mining but Nicehash did the trick, I mined ethereum using gtx1660super at 31mh @82 watts max and also rx580s at 30mh using 80watts then I find out that Nicehash have power control, I though it was for show until I activate it in settings and click on low power mode, this decrease all my gpu power draw to 75 -76 watts for both the Nvidia and AMD cards, awesome, if you haven't done this it's worth checking out if you care about more power saving
dont depend on software measurment you need to use wattmeter to see real power usage and dont to much trust on people posting about low power gpu before you tried by yourself, and there is no such thing polaris mining under 100w except you life on iceland  Cheesy & got best silicon lottery
I've ordered for wattmeter because I really want to unveil how much RX 580 and 480 are pulling when mining, I suspect they pull more because my inverter is showing different power draw than what miner is showing, miners watt draw is fake
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DeFi hacks is becoming a joke on: March 04, 2021, 03:20:10 PM
And Binance smarth chain becomes safe heaven for the hackers?

Surely people are expecting what will be the reply from CZ for this scam project because it seems devs run away within 24 hour after they launched the project on BSC network.Where ever there is hype then there is high risk of getting scammed.

Please beware!
Not here to defend but to share knowledge, is DeFi not bigger than BSC? To me it is and for the fact that only DeFi projects are getting hacked looks suspicious to me, not all those hacks are real hack, this is the first thing that always come to mind, I'm waiting for BSC hacks though but honestly decentralized sucks in crypto space
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Do you trade on these exchanges hotbit, stex, kucoin, crex24 and tradeogre? on: March 04, 2021, 03:16:15 PM
Do you exchange on these exchanges? I have some mined shitcoin listed on them and I'd like to exchange them soon but I don't know if these exchanges are legit or scam. Did you guys still use them?
I trade on crex24, tradeogre, stex and hotbit before and never get scammed, I used tradeogre more often because I have some shitcoins that are only listed for trading on tradeogre, mind you the exchange lacks enough volume and every other things are fine, why include kucoin anyway? That's the best among the list and kucoin is a top exchange too, one of the most trusted
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bounty Managers Wearing Bitcoin Signature, Funny Irony on: March 04, 2021, 03:13:42 PM
As a matter of fact not everyone cares, bounty managers may decide to promote other project that's different from the one they are managing, there is no rule that bounty managers must not promote other projects when they are managing another, they are going to get paid managing the bounty that's their job, whichever project they plan to promote is non of the teams business
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PCIE Multiplier on: February 28, 2021, 07:00:48 PM
Running that much GPUS from a single PCIe slot? Naa I'd rather buy another motherboard or get three or four of this connector and use two/two cards on each connector, there are motherboards with 16x gpu space onboard though
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: When will I break even? on: February 28, 2021, 06:21:24 PM
If you are running on free electricity like me you don't need to worry if bear market will come or not, people tend to sell their GPUS when bears comes because they can't keep up with electricity bills, ROI will take longer than expected is all but will eventually happen
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining rig not turning on on: February 28, 2021, 06:17:46 PM
Would it be a problem even if its the same PSU? Because I was going to use that other PSU to power on some of the GPUs. Besides that, it still doesn't turn on. Even if I just use one PSU.
One problem at a time mate, one problem at a time, fix the motherboard to power on first before worrying about using two power supplies on the motherboard, if the motherboard is up and running then we can talk about how to use two power supplies
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Amepay raised 84.6 million in their IEO on: February 28, 2021, 03:12:25 PM
Amepay token make it this far because of the team, amepay isn't the only project that has same use case, I remember alchemy pay too but the project dumped after few pump on huobi exchange, what I've learnt here is team experience, the capability of project team is what will determine the future of the project, today alchemy pay sucks, I hope amepay won't be the same
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: New miner looking for guideline on: February 28, 2021, 03:07:32 PM
New crypto miner wannabe on here, some guide lines are needed

1. Can I mine on any motherboard? Been AMD or Intel doesn't matter?
2. Must I buy AMD gpus for AMD motherboard and vice versa?
3. I heard it's big problem for newbies to config pools themselves, any easy way around this?
4. Best are the best GPU to buy for convenient mining for newbie?

Its better to buy Nvidia cards for mining if you are thinking about building a mining rig, Nvidia cards have less headaches when configuring them, Nvidia cards are pretty straight forward when setting up, they support more algorithms that are profitable than AMD cards like RX580 for example, once ethereum isn't an option on this card anymore its near a waste of time

AMD cards aren't that bad and the new RTX are way easier in terms of efficiency, AMD driver are less stable compares to Nvidia drivers but it won't take much hassle to change a driver for another
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum mining reward shrinking on: February 27, 2021, 03:14:21 PM
The funny part is there are some success stories about miners that never stopped mining since bear market began in 2018, they mined some ethereum and hold till ethereum turn 1000+, aren't they the real winners here? Some said they spend more on electricity but isn't that for those who sold their ETH in bear market?
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: XFX GTS 580 8gb XFX modded BIOS for mining on: February 27, 2021, 02:32:08 PM
Every modded BIOS are edited in every way a patience person finds the best spot for mining using msi afterburner, seriously you don't need to mod BIOS, you can do everything yourself using msi afterburner and AMD wattman, what type of memory your gpu has? Not size, to know you have to download GPU-Z and check, could be samsung, hynix, micron
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The next PoW project - #Raptoreum on: February 27, 2021, 02:28:23 PM
Yah mobile wallet should be put at first, i find myself in same shit when I invested in veil privacy coin and I wasn't able to sell today because the project have no mobile wallet, to sell I will have to install windows wallet and start syncing from scratch which will probably take me weeks and the sync data is over 34gb in size, that's even going to cost me more data, I mean who still use windows wallet this days when 90% of people that are into crypto prefers mobile wallets more
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Better than before on: February 27, 2021, 01:21:24 PM
BTC is well adopted right now than the past but that still doesn't mean that BTC won't fall anymore, there will surely be a time where people will take profits which will surely affects the price of BTC, that day is when no one knows, be prepared.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is this still a good time on: February 27, 2021, 01:17:31 PM
As a newbie pls understand that buying now is twice the risk of buying in early January of this year, no one can say for sure of the market will keep rising after the correction or not, if it's a must to invest right now it's better to gamble with little money you can afford to lose and I would suggest BTC instead of altcoins
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What is best miner to mine with RTX 3080 T-Rex or Nicehash? on: February 26, 2021, 07:47:14 AM
For Nvidia graphic cards is would go with phoenix miner or NB miner, these two have the highest hashrate for me on both small and big Nvidia graphic cards, Trex miner is near identical to Phoenix miner at hashing speed but I prefer Phoenix miner interface, it's more detailed than Trex
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: are those risers any good ?!?... on: February 26, 2021, 07:18:50 AM
I still use data cable for small GPUS but in future builds I will go with mining motherboards that don't need risers for GPUS, I would probably buy that type of motherboard that philipima talked about in other topic here, risers can go bad at anytime even if they works now, I've changed two since I start mining
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Rx580 about to die? on: February 26, 2021, 07:07:50 AM
Search there must be softwares to test memory, if it dont pass it will show errors on which memory chip has defected you need to change memory chips. each memory will cost you around 14-20$ then you need solder.
Not just anybody can change memory chip, not everyone can handle soldering iron, it's bad advice telling a newbie to venture into this, better look for qualified personal to do that for you before making things more worse
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Finally GPU mining is dead... on: February 26, 2021, 07:05:41 AM
Your calculation is scary, if you knew all these already why even invest in graphic cards at all? It seems like I made a wrong decision buying graphic cards to mine when ROI may never come, all I need is just 100 days and I'm good

Buying gpus right now at these high prices is as gamble as buying coins right now, know why? as we have the bullrun where people accumulate coins, miners also accumulate gpus, see my point, so miners dont sell gpus, when everything crashes, miners know their gpus will also crash to less than msrp prices, i mean 3080 right now for 1800 usd will crash to sub 500 usd, i'm not joking, this happened in 2018 and it will happen again plus there are many miners which only mine on bullruns and once the bullrun ends they run to sell their gpus as fast as possible, the market will be inflated with cheap gpus just like 2018.

I'm not a miner, yes I purchased 2 evga ftw3 rtx 3080 for 1k each and I'm mining with them but the idea here is to stay with one and to sell the other one. I bought the 3080 with the intention of gaming not mining, not bad mining with it right now.

Also my calculations are a representation of past events based in history, in 2011 with bitcoin then in 2014 with litecoin, in 2018 with eth and now 2021 with eth again. This does not mean it will happen again but it has a great chance to history repeating itself and happening again.

Looks like it is allready began to drop fast or not yet?

Altcoins yes, not sure if this is a beartrap or the end already, need to watch out if btc falls below 32k, if yes then this might be the end, if btc rebounds at 35k or 40k or even 32k then it still has a chance to go to 79k, no clear sign yet.
I hope this won't happen, I just start mining January 2021 with my new graphic cards, I've not even make half ROI back yet, this will break me if bear market starts this soon, I was expecting something around June or July, though I have free electricity since I'm using green energy but I have my targets
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Patience isn't everything on: February 26, 2021, 06:59:59 AM
It's good to have patience but crypto is different, you have to do more than having patience especially if you are holding altcoins, you have to be on your guide and always watch the Altcoins development always, most new projects are very good at changing their roadmaps and extending things unnecessarily, that is one big sign of lack of seriousness
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: how to use integrated graphic card for os and dedicated card for mining ? on: February 21, 2021, 07:42:25 AM
Don't be sad, integrated GPUS sucks for mining, I have an AMD motherboard with R7 gpu onboard but it sucks so much for mining that I have to deactivate the card, discrete gpu is better, believe me and you are getting what others are getting on gtx1060 for mining Ethereum, roughly 24mh is good enough, forget the integrated gpu
