Win10 Spy Disabler 1.5 Win Updates Disabler 1.4 I have used these programs many times and my windows 10 has not been updated. But why use this crap now if there is a special OS mining on Linux?
Many miners still use windows 10 for their own personal reasons, I know Linux OS are better but for some they just prefer windows OS, even few are still using windows 7 and 8 for mining lol

Yes I can noticed that as well, I was worried about privacy coins weeks ago because they failed to be bullish like other coins but now things are better, sero, dash, veil, etc are all growing better than what they used to be in value, only Monero shows a good sign since the bullseason started, things are a lot better right now

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: PoW vs PoS: is it matter in terms of coin's value?
|
on: February 14, 2021, 07:05:56 AM
|
What's up, guys!
Recently I came across an opinion that "only Proof of Work (PoW) coins are worth investing because they are the real sound money, backed in the energy consumed to mine them".
On the other hand, PoS coins are based on nothing, created out of the thin air, and generally have the problem of having high concentrations of the initial offer in the wallets of the founding institutions, developers and initial investors of the crypto project. For this reason, many are considered scams because they are only waiting for a market valuation to be able to offer the reserves they already have and make a profit.
I found the argument quite reasonable, although clearly radical. Personally I think that what defines the value of a crypto is its usefulness, its use case.
But I was really intrigued by the argument in favor of PoW coins, which in addition to their usefulness, would have their value defined by the cost of the energy used to mine it. That is why they could be considered a less risky crypto investment.
The criticism, moreover, of the high consumption of energy to mine the coins is answered with an ingenious argument that this would be a more efficient way to store energy (in the form of coin) that can be used indefinitely instead of being wasted as it happens to maintain the current financial system.
That said, I would like to know your opinion on this discussion. Does the argument in favor of PoW coins make any sense to you?
I would love to receive some reading recommendations (short, long texts, other threads on the subject) to deepen the topic.
Thank you. Except for Bitcoin, I find POS coins to be more valuable. Even Ethereum is switching to POS. POS is 'cleaner' than PoW, and staking creates scarcity that could lead to a price pump. Whatever PoS algo is going to produce PoW can do the exact same thing, you talked about scarcity and it's same scarcity when mining difficulty rise up, I don't believe that ETH is switching to PoS soon, vitalik buterin must have understand the importance of PoW algo on ETH which is why he planned the EIP1559, the highest is both algos to co-exist

Not worth buying unless someone sell for you at cheap price, egpu are costly from scratch, even one with a RX580 can be sold for 530$+ where as a discrete RX580 don't cost up to that at all, I can still get a RX580 8gb at 370$

If you think you are smart well think again
After UNI Airdrops many starts looking for people's Private keys and recovery seeds using search engines and data engines like 4shared and others but guess what?
Some smart scammers are out there willingly exposing their private keys and recovery seed so that greedy people can scan through them, here is what the scammers have in store
The scammers leave good valuable tokens on the wallet and set the wallet to automatically send out any deposited Ethereum, the greed people will want to deposit eth to quickly move out the tokens to exchanges but its a smart trap, once the eth landed on the wallet address it automatically send out to another Ethereum address...
How did I know this? I know someone who fell for this, luckily he only deposit 20$ worth of Ethereum..
The people who fall from this method are not really greedy but they are newbie and no knowledge at all about this hacking technique. I think these scammers are not deserve to call smarter people because they steal other people money maybe better to call them thieves. They have no knowledge what private keys is? Really? I don't think that someone who never opened a crypto wallet can know what private keys and recovery seeds are, they can only know that private keys and recovery seeds are the only key to any crypto wallet once they start using crypto wallets themselves, this isn't newbie issue it's stealing

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Windows wallet or regular wallet?
|
on: February 09, 2021, 11:22:50 AM

regular wallets for example such as Etherscan and Windows wallets, which do you think is the most secure for each campaign you participate in? let's share a little because every Windows wallet I have ever participated in always fails to be exchanged or sold when the token is on the market exchange..
Etherscan is like a blockchain explorer for Eth why are you mixing things up? Do you even know what real wallets are ? Myetherwallet is an example of a real Ethereum wallet, windows wallet aren't good for bounty participation because it takes time to synce blockchain data on windows wallet, also 99% of new bounty projects requires for Ethereum wallet address so you don't need a windows wallet to get paid

I have tried these timings to. I have tried mostly all the popular ones. All of them crash before the miner start working.(usually before it's load the DAG to the videomemory) Only 1 flash could survive and start the miner ( 1.7.2 vers of 1 click patch with "universal Hynix" timings)
I startet thinking i'm just have the worst luck with this card.
There is nothing you can do in your case except you download the original bios and flash back to original, you can then start working on finding the best clock settings to get the best hashrate out of the card without any bios modding

Don't waste your time mining new coins, if a coin have real purposes many will forward their hashing power to such coin, in a week the Mining difficulty will rise alot, I've mined over 20 altcoins in the past mainly cryptonight coins and only 4 of the coins survived till date, that's haven, loki, dero, and turtle coin, others are abandoned,

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: New build 3070's - need some assistance

I will have to stick with HiveOS if windows 10 keeps getting on my nerves, I had no choice but to use windows 10 because I have other things to do on PC that isn't crypto mining, maybe I will have to get a separate laptop to do my work and leave the desktop pcs for mining purposes only so I can finally say goodbye to windows 10
yeah get a laptop or a dell small form desktop for windows. a 4 card 3070 really should mine and do nothing else. There are good sellers for used /refurbished gear on ebay. You can get nice ones for 500 I will find a few links for you. here is one for 549.99 but a 15% coupon PERFECTVDAY15 drops it to 467.49 https://www.ebay.com/itm/Lenovo-ThinkCentre-M920x-Tiny-Desktop-PC-i5-8500-3GHz-16GB-512GB-SSD-W10P/284007328672?it is a solid work pc comes with w10 pro and it can be upgraded down the road from 16gb ram to 32gb maybe 64gb (not sure about the 64gb) and from 500gb ssd to 2tb ssd I'm sure about this upgrade and from i5 8500 to i7 8700 I'm sure about this upgrade. seller is very good. That's a nice portable desktop computer but I think laptop is more suited for work and also you can carry it around anywhere you decide to go, @OasisDre must have thought about this before making mention of getting a laptop to browse and work separately

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Motherboard wattage consumptions
|
on: February 07, 2021, 07:23:10 AM
|
Sorry guys, my question might sound dump, I don't have a wattmeter here but I want to know the watt that motherboards can consume when using then for gpu mining, that is Not using their CPU to mine, only gpu, can you give an estimate? thanks
Motherboard is small consuming around 10watt that depend on the board it self, assuming you are using dedicated mobo with disable many features, and only focused on mining, ssd consume around 5watt, cpu 20watt, base on skylake celeron with b250 mobo.. The highest I've seen my motherboard consume is 35 watts and I have four different types of motherboard, from intel to AMD, they only consume high watts if CPU is under stress or loads, I won't worry about the MOBO watts draw unless I'm running them on backup batteries
