61  Other / Meta / Re: What is the Impact of Accurate Reporting on User Profiles on: April 29, 2024, 10:45:38 AM
Why do you need to have some kind of badge or something like that when, in essence, sending reports is like cleaning your own house? Will you expect praise from your family for something that, in principle, you should keep in order?
I think to have such a thing is good. A father is known as daddy in the family, a mother is know as mummy. On this forum, people like theymos and Cyrus are known as admin, while some people are known on this forum as staffs and moderators. Some people  are known as merit source. It will be also good if some people are known as reporters. Theymos will be the one to make the decision.
62  Other / Meta / Re: What is the Impact of Accurate Reporting on User Profiles on: April 29, 2024, 10:32:00 AM
I am wondering what happens with this in the long run. For instance, if a user has reported 1000 posts with over 90% accuracy. Is there going to be an automatic positive trust to their profile or what?
It would have been good if theymos can use it to give the users positive trust and reference the reason but because you are reporting post, that does not means you are trustworthy in a trade which is the reason the trust was created. I am talking generally and not referring to you.

The only thing I know theymos did was that he use to bring up new thread about highest reporters. Like this one below

Top Reporters

A moderator or someone later talked about the reporters to have a badge and make the code for it,  but you can only see the badge after you install an extension or something on the browser that you are using to access this forum and only you will be able to see the badge.

Theymos did not do anything about reporters than posting about them. The last report was in 2021. It would have been good if it is done annually.
63  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: TRADERS are not UNEMPLOYED on: April 29, 2024, 08:51:09 AM
I guess it depends on the situation.
I would agree with what you said that trading can't be a reliable job since the income isn't stable, but there are some factors that might affect that one.

Let's say for example, a trader is making 5 digits on a monthly basis just by doing trading. Yes, there are times where he lost money in trading since no one can predict the market with 100% accuracy, but at the end of the month, he's making money like other employees. Do you still need to have a "RELIABLE" job if you know yourself that you are making money in trading "CONSISTENTLY"?
You are correct, but we traders do advice people that trading is not a reliable means of making money because we know how risky it is, especially for newbie traders. If we tell them that it is a way to make money, they will later most likely tell us that we are lying but setting a pit for them to fall into. I just do not know how I can excellently explain how trading should not be taken as a job except you are a good trader already and making money from it. Most people will realize it when they solely rely on trading that it is very risky. Some success traders that I have met do other things that are reliable than to just be trading only and they make money from trading, they invest more in reliable business in case of bad trading days.

Well, if unemployment is defined as not having a job, then traders are not unemployed. Because many people feel that they work by trading. However, it all depends on our respective perceptions and views. If work is defined as us being paid by the company and we have a contract with the company, then traders can be said to be unemployed. However, if people look at unemployment this way, then people who start businesses by selling something, and trying to generate their own income are unemployed. yeah, I think that's not quite right.
However, I think this has a very broad meaning. People will look differently at traders who are successful and have a lot of assets, from traders who work at home, but make very little money. The first trader might be said to be a successful businessman by ordinary people, and the second trader would be said to be an unemployed person looking for money on the internet. IMO, Traders are a job, but with high risks.
Are you really a trader? This should not be about what you read or what you think of but about what you know and have experience about.
64  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: TRADERS are not UNEMPLOYED on: April 29, 2024, 12:04:02 AM
Trading is risky like gambling and it should not be seen as a job.
Do we have stop losses in gambling as well like it is in trading?  Grin

I still believe Gambling and Trading are not the same. Gambling is perfectly for fun and entertainment for those who have some money to blow off. If you get into gambling thinking you will be earning some daily, weekly or monthly income, then you are going to be f##Ked

Trading on the other side can be a very decent "job". I mean, look at all those historical stock trading giants and corporations. They made or make money, not by trading for fun or entertainment, like someone who enters a casino in Las Vegas without knowing how the night will end.
Gambling is not trading but the risk is much as it is in gambling. Theoretically you can see a lot of differences in gambling and trading, but in real life you will noticed that they are both risky.

If you have other sources of income and you are trading, you will not rely on trading. You will be able to make the right analysis and not panic. But if someone is thinking of earning from only trading, the person is knocking the door to his own failure.

Trading should not be seen as a job. It will let you want to set target. Poor think can come from there. Trading should only see trading as alternative and enter the market when necessary.
65  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: An aggressive gambler irrelevantly easing his Irresponsible gambling manner. on: April 28, 2024, 11:35:21 PM
You mean, losers in the match - the boxer himself, right? Because winner or loser, these boxers really can get their purse split. Sometimes, the loser has higher earnings than the winner, depending on their purse split arrangements. But if you talk about a bettor, definitely, he will lose the money.
But the boxer is still a loser and that is why I qualify him as loser. If you read what I posted, I also included that the loser is making money from the match.

He has forgotten or he did not know that in boxing, losers can also be paid. Not only winners make money in boxing.
66  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: TRADERS are not UNEMPLOYED on: April 28, 2024, 11:31:18 PM
Not all traders can use trading to make money. According to some reports that I have read before, most traders are losing. Those with small amount of money will lose because they risk more and not patient. When someone will think of trading to make himself money, he may lose. If you are trading, you should not consider it as a job. You need a reliable job. Trading is risky like gambling and it should not be seen as a job.
67  Economy / Exchanges / Re: what is wrong with Bybit? on: April 28, 2024, 11:26:28 PM
I can not face such issue because nobody was unable to scam me even when I am using decentralized exchange P2P and also when I am trading directly with people.

I heard that Bybit P2P customer support are slow to respond but I have used the exchange P2P many times and no issue of taking it up to customer care. If you follow the rules of P2P trading and be wise about it, you will have less issues and no loss of money.
68  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: An aggressive gambler irrelevantly easing his Irresponsible gambling manner. on: April 28, 2024, 11:22:43 PM
Someone betted on boxing and lost the game but the gambler out of grieve of his lost is trying to ease his emotion Said, It is okay as it is for at least the guy I betted on made me lost the game but had unfortunate for him too to had taken beaten of his life.
He has forgotten or he did not know that in boxing, losers can also be paid. Not only winners make money in boxing.

I think such is and aggressive and irresponsible gambler who gambles on the peak of what he can not afford to loose.
I do not know if he placed too much money on the loser but from his expression and emotion, you knew.

He should not think about another person but about himself and how he is gambling. He should start to gamble responsibly. If he used small amount of money to gamble, it will be better.
69  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you cashout or wait for the game to conclude? on: April 28, 2024, 08:41:58 PM
We have discussed this before. I prefer to wait till the match finish.

The guy that bought this up the last time on this forum would have lost or lost if he did not cash out. The amount to win was huge.

I gamble on just 1 to 3 matches and I do not use cash out for it. But if I accumulate and the cash out is huge in amount, I will cash out. It is not good to be greedy.
70  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: The airstrikes begin... (Phoenix Wallet) on: April 28, 2024, 09:12:15 AM
I would rather use a service that cares about my privacy than one that cares about (profiting off of) my money. No need to flee anywhere, as Bitcoin was intended to be a global, decentralized currency.
But what about their app download on GitHub? https://github.com/ACINQ/phoenix/releases

Even if their app is removed from Google Playstore and App store, users can still use Tor to download it and still be using tor to continue to use the lightning network app on their device. Many US citizens may not know this though.
71  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is United States going against custodial lightning wallets? on: April 28, 2024, 08:19:55 AM
How?
What would stop a US citizen to go here:
https://github.com/ACINQ/phoenix/releases
download the apk and run it?
This is true. Because an app is removed from those app stores, that does not mean they have stopped operation. Which means those that have the app already can still continue to use it, while those that still want to use it can download it from their GitHub through the link you give. It is not as centralized as I thought, it is better to have the apk on GitHub.

But there are some people that will not know this but be afraid of their bitcoin not to get lost. Many of them will not know about Phoenix on GitHub. This may likely reduce United States Phoenix wallet users.
72  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is there strategy to make profit daily future trade on: April 28, 2024, 08:06:42 AM
I have good knowledge with crypto future
I get signals from groups on telegram
These are contradictory. If you have good knowledge about crypto trading, it means you do not need signal groups. Know that if you depend on signal groups, that does not means that they will give you accurate information. If you pay them, it is just like a scam.

But i got idea to make profit daily
I choose some coins potential raise and open long  positions on them and hold
These are also contradictory. You want daily profit and you said you hold. They are two different things.

For day until i get profit.. Is this good idea or let me know if there better idea
If you are looking for daily profit, that is almost impossible in trading. There are just some days that will be for losses. If you think you should hold while not making profit yet, you can trade coins like bitcoin and not shitcoins. It is a good ideal if you use 1x leverage and not go more than 2.5x leverage.
73  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is United States going against custodial lightning wallets? on: April 27, 2024, 08:31:40 PM
The united states have done nothing against Phoenix or ACINQ!
They haven't taken anything down, you can see that even their LN channels are still working in the US being hosted in the US.
https://mempool.space/lightning/node/03864ef025fde8fb587d989186ce6a4a186895ee44a926bfc370e2c366597a3f8f
Phoenix is still providing services to US customers. The lightning wallet provider will cease to provide services to US people on May 3.
74  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Making the Most of $100 bankroll on: April 27, 2024, 08:17:38 PM
Well 5 usd is what I always use to bet on any casino game, not on sports betting, just in the casino and it is enough for me to have a casino day, of course and I play dice, crash, roulette or simply to the slot machines. . something more special because sometimes I tend to put a little more but the difference is that there in slots I don't look to win, but rather play Therapeutically, but I only use that balance to have fun, because 5 usd is a lot. , but it is enough to have a good time, however those 5 can sometimes give you 7 or 8 usd, which is not bad, so I recommend that you do that, that you play 1 or 2 times a week betting that and if you win 2 or 3 powders then leave them there and the next day play with the winnings and try to increase them, but little by little if possible, but you have to have a lot of willpower not to bet or bet anything. more than that.
Betting is for sport while gambling is for casinos. I spend more hours and play more games in casinos, that makes me reduce my money for each game to be $0.5 in casinos. I may not play more than 3 games in bookies and I can bet just $5 each, unlike 20 to 30 times that I can gamble in casinos. The amount I will still spend will be the same in both casinos and bookies. I enjoy casinos than bookies.
75  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: The airstrikes begin... (Phoenix Wallet) on: April 27, 2024, 08:12:59 AM
Assuming this was possible, this is one way to fight back.
I suggest the name of the island be called, "Satoshi Island".
I am not saying that you are wrong, but I am just saying lightning network has a bit of on-chain which is opening and closing channel and some technical issue that can be related to it. You are right because not depending on centralized means has been the way that the government are not able to take decentralized projects down. You are right. But just that most people that are using lightning network are not using noncustodial lightning network.
76  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: The airstrikes begin... (Phoenix Wallet) on: April 27, 2024, 07:59:25 AM
We are looking at a situation where very soon US IP addresses will blocked from using more lightning nodes. And it has started already.
You can use tor to access everything about bitcoin, you do not need to depend on US IP. But only if it is noncustodial with no central authority.

How will US people fight ? Learn how to create and manage your own channel.
Most people do not use noncustodial lightning network because it is not simple to open a channel and it requires bitcoin fee to open and close a channel.
77  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is United States going against custodial lightning wallets? on: April 27, 2024, 07:50:56 AM
I guess I am behind on the Chainanalysis news. Kindly reply this with the link so I can get properly informed on it. Thanks.
About United States taken down Phoenix? This is a link that you can read about it https://news.bitcoin.com/acinq-to-withdraw-phoenix-wallet-from-us-markets-amid-regulatory-concerns/

Phoenix wallet was non-custodian the last time I checked. Is that an error of they've made changes to their mode of operation?
It is not noncustodial.
78  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I don't like the term "blockchain" on: April 27, 2024, 07:35:05 AM
The author argues that "timechain" more accurately describes Bitcoin because it emphasizes the fact that Bitcoin is a chronological ledger of transactions.
Block builds on top of each other which makes it blockchain or block chain or chain of blocks. That is a perfect name it can be called. Not time chain because time can not chain together.

Moreover, one can argue that some software developers find that blockchain is a bad data structure. I mean, a blockchain does have features for its original purpose to solve the double-spending problem in a distributed system, but for general computing or development of distributed applications, it's better to use something else.
Do you know the meaning of double spending? RBF is double spending that people use to increase the fee or to cancel a transaction. Because car can lead to accident, should that be the reason we should not use car?
79  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Why is United States going against custodial lightning wallets? on: April 27, 2024, 07:13:36 AM
Some weeks back or probably some months back, wallet of Satoshi was removed from Google Playstore and App store for United States citizens not to be able to access it. No reason stated.

It is now Phoenix wallet which is one of the best custodial lightning wallets for bitcoin. No reason also stated for removing the lightning wallet from the Google Playstore and App store for United States citizens not to be able to access it.

I guess these lightning wallets are targeted one after the other but we do not know the reason. Is it because Chainanalysis were unable to trace the lightning transactions or the wallet developers are not cooperating with the United States to make lightning transactions on their channels less private?
80  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: The airstrikes begin... (Phoenix Wallet) on: April 27, 2024, 07:06:31 AM
But there is something that I am not yet getting. What is the reason custodial lightning wallets are removed from the United States citizens? I can remember that Wallet of Satoshi was removed from the Google Playstore and App store some weeks ago but no reason was also stated.
