Hi kermee, Thanks for posting , I'm glad you like the rounds , its always a relief to hear when they arrive  and specifically how long they take  , I've sent to quite a few location in the US , my post office have put a broader range on the shipping time of 3-10 working days , I think this is to give a greater allowance for possible delays along the way .

cheers Mick  Grin

1044  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why is Bitcoin tanking this afternoon? on: August 04, 2011, 12:04:05 AM
Made my first bitcoin trades during the last week or so , Had £340.00 in MyBitcoin as I was juggling money around while i was setting up an offline wallet(lesson learned) , then I made my second mistake by not moving the rest of the bitcoins I had made (priced between £8.26 to £7.98 each) out and into the britcoin exchange to cash out immediately , spent all day chasing the price down today, finally sold them as low as £6.88 each losing a further £120.00 or so on the exchange rate , (lesson learned).  Grin

Did you learn anything ?  Im not sure you did..

I bow low to your superior knowledge as to wether I learnt anything or not. Clearly if I had any sense I wouldn't of had my money in MyBitcoin. I maybe wrong but for bitcoin to take off it needs to be widely accepted so it needs to move out from the realms of the super - tech guy to the likes of me who has no real computer, or Exchange trading skills to speak of .  I'm pretty sure I won't be using an online wallet (admittedly this was obvious to everybody but me)  , I'm pretty sure sellers accepting bitcoins, don't want to be spending all day staring at Britcoins exchange with there pulse racing in order to see wether there going to make a profit or a loss on the goods they've sold .

To sell bitcoins on the uk exchange , there's one set price , you make the order ,when the price drops , to catch the next price down  I had to cancel the order , make a new order, sell a couple more bitcoins, cancel the order , make a new order , sell a few more bitcoins , cancel order , make a new order , etc etc.

Basically I've gone from paypal being a seller to bitcoin being a trader/speculator . Is there a route around this for uk sellers accepting bitcoin ? I'm not clear how other exchanges operate do they allow you to set your bitcoin sell price slightly under the current price ?

100 remaining of 1st batch of 1000
1050  Economy / Collectibles / Re: 1 gram .999 fine silver "bitcoin" rounds . on: July 30, 2011, 11:06:05 PM
We can only dream of silver bullion for spot + 10% here in the uk . Typically a 1oz round would be spot + 35-40% (20% of that being vat) at very best .

I could sell them individually , but then they would really be expensive . Just to cover my time alone , to invoice pack post etc.

I recall a couple of years ago being able to get 1 gram rounds for 60-70p each over here , so they can in theory be profitable in the long run. Typically the premium remains with the round , you pay it when you buy and get it back when you sell   , but I do agree core position wise you would go for The cheapest most cost effective option , which wouldn't be a 1 gram silver bitcoin.

To be quite clear on my costs , as I stated earlier in the thread , in real terms I'm making 20p per round , this just covers the die fees on this first batch of 1000 .

Really glad to hear they've arrived , I've posted out to the uk ,Europe and the USA , so I will be very intersted to hear how long they take.

Yes I think these 1 grams work out at just over 90% over spot , here in the uk for 1oz .999 silver bullion the best price is spot+40% this is 20% vat and 20% premium . I think I'm right in saying in the US you can get your silver at near spot price ?

I guess a bitcoin round is a very niche Market , you first take a group of bitcoin "enthusiasts" then divide from them any who have an interest in collecting bullion. even from those a 1gram will be of less interest than a 1oz .
