501  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Anyone else get a random password reset email from YoBit? on: May 15, 2016, 08:36:58 PM
haven't got a stray password reset email from yobit yet, but that kind of thing is not all that rare on sites where your account(s) may have a worth. I wouldn't worry too much about it if your email is secure.
502  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin change the world's financial system? on: May 13, 2016, 08:21:59 PM
they have to make changes in order to compete with bitcoin.

I personally don't think so, they just want to spend less on the system they're using (blockchain being efficient)

They don't have to compete with Bitcoin at all at this point

at this point. but how about in the future? bitcoin will get more users over time as it spreads and when people realize that it have a lot of features that the other system have not. they won't just wait until it's too late, they will have to take precautions.
503  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin change the world's financial system? on: May 13, 2016, 07:46:30 PM
bitcoin is already in the process of changing the world's financial system. why do you think the banks are trying to implement blockchain-like system? they have to make changes in order to compete with bitcoin.
504  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Theymos: “Bitcoins Belonging to Satoshi Should Be Destroyed” on: May 11, 2016, 10:33:38 PM
That right if he wants them he can move them to prevent their destruction. It is better to destroy them than those coins falling in wrong hands.Since these coins are not in circulation, their disappearance would not make any difference

They are not in circulation, they are in storage.
You wants Satoshi to moving them or loose them?

it seems you don't quite understand what theymos are proposing. he's talking about destroying all old coins that doesn't get moved after 5 years. if satoshi and other bitcoin owners move their coins before that time, their bitcoins won't be destroyed.
of course there are pros and cons of this. if satoshi move those coins, then those old coins will not be considered lost anymore. on the other hand, we'll know for sure that those coins won't be a problem if they get destroyed.
505  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Bitcoins are gone! on: May 11, 2016, 07:59:25 PM
have you checked your addresses in block explorers to see if the balance matches correctly with what was shown in electrum? if it does match and you don't recall having made the latest transactions then that means someone have spent your bitcoins without you knowing. you might want to scan your PC for viruses in that case.
506  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Beware mwax321 is a scammer on: May 11, 2016, 07:02:59 PM
duh. he's got two trusted negative feedback so giving people a warning on his own self-moderated thread are pretty much useless.
the negative trust serves as a warning to other users so if they went and get scammed despite of that it's their fault.
507  Economy / Reputation / Re: KWH IS USING TRUST INCORRECTLY? GIVE YOUR OPINION! on: May 11, 2016, 12:13:38 AM

pretty sure that waterpile sold fruitsbasket last year on this thread. post count and activity matches perfectly and Fruitsbasket's password was changed very shortly after that.
508  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Petermat79 scamed me . on: May 09, 2016, 06:42:16 PM
he practically don't have that big of a reputation to lose so trusting him not to scam was a bad move in my opinion.
looks like he's got quite a lot of bitcoins in his address, though.
509  Other / Meta / Re: How do i change my avatar? on: May 09, 2016, 05:35:01 PM
You have to be a full member to do it.

How do you become full member? Do I need to pay a fee?

you'll need to have 120 activity.

before you ask anything about activity and ranks, read these:

510  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the best bitcoin online wallet ? = except blockchain.info on: May 07, 2016, 03:34:19 PM
jesus. I see a lot of people considers services that controls their private keys as safe. if someone hacked those sites your bitcoins may be gone, you know.

i have only one thing to say to you: remember cryptsy

and that.
511  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the best bitcoin online wallet ? = except blockchain.info on: May 07, 2016, 03:13:51 PM
Thanks for your answer , i will try electrum .

I wanted to use online wallet , in case i have some hardware trouble , but may be better to use desktop wallet and save dat file

ah. you don't have to worry about hardware issues if you back up your seed and private keys. that way even if your computer won't start you can still restore your whole wallet using the seed or import individual addresses using private keys.
just write down the seed on a piece of paper and save the private keys on a USB or something.
512  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the best bitcoin online wallet ? = except blockchain.info on: May 07, 2016, 02:52:30 PM
Hi guys, what is the best bitcoin online wallet ? (was using  blockchain.info , i upgraded to the new wallet =its simply a piece of shit + very complicated + bugs + very slow + asking for verifications ......  + can't downgrade to previous wallet) = all shit = not simple to use +and losing btc privacy

Can you help please ? Any safe online alternative or may be better to store on cold wallet ?

no there's no safe online alternative. use wallets like electrum instead.
why do you want to use online wallets anyway?
513  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: iPayYou Launches New Bitcoin Wallet, With Ability to Cancel Transactions on: May 07, 2016, 02:46:34 PM
took this from the link.

Quote
It is important to note that a transaction sent from an iPayYou wallet can only be cancelled if it has not been confirmed. Bitcoins sent to another iPayYou user through email can be cancelled until the other user logs in.

so apparently they're going to double spend the canceled transactions and pray to god that the second transaction will be confirmed faster than the first.
514  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BREAKING NEWS: Satoshi moved coins on April 30, 2016. How was this missed? on: May 05, 2016, 10:24:00 PM
err.. maybe you should start with how you linked that address with craig wright first? can't find anything on google.

I have the following link at the top of the OP. The pasebin link was from Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/4hx3q9/according_to_the_mtgox_leaks_from_early_2014_our/

yeah. must be going blind.

anyway... don't know if this could mean something but I find two interesting transactions from there.

I kinda was

I believed that I could do this. I believed that I could put the years of anonymity and hiding behind me. But, as the events of this week unfolded and I prepared to publish the proof of access to the earliest keys, I broke. I do not have the courage. I cannot.
Breaking private keys or "cracking" them that I stated above is unlawful unless you can definiively prove that it is your own.
It means that he could potentially steal from people's wallets without their notice.

I'm sure that's not what you think it means.
he's not saying he broke the keys. he's saying he hesitated and changed his mind. notice the comma in there?
517  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Craig Wright relents aka Satoshi (air quotes) in Public Apology! on: May 05, 2016, 09:37:35 PM
It is indeed very strange that he goes back so fast. It is for certain that this last message is by craight wright?

well, I certainly don't see him denying it. so yeah.

I was wondering why he tried to destroy Bitcoin in its first few stages by accessing private keys, unless of course they were his own.

can anyone elaborate on this? wtf does accessing private keys means?

Private keys are what control accounts.

It is like a password for your bitcoin address. Still a similar style to a Bitcoin address but, with access to a private key, you can acces an account.

If he managed to "crack" the private key of other users, he would be capable of stealing their bitcoin untraceably and without their knowledge until they looked at their wallet to see that it was gone.

LMAO I thought you were talking about something that actually happened. never mind.

519  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will bitcoin still be the preferred cryptocurrency after 10 years? on: May 05, 2016, 06:58:08 PM
Will bitcoin still be the preferred cryptocurrency after 10 years or will something better take over?

if you're expecting to get a sure answer to this you're going to be disappointed. no one knows what will happen in 10 years.
my speculation: yes, bitcoin will still be the most used cryptocurrency.
520  Other / Meta / Re: so.. just got phissed! on: May 04, 2016, 10:58:09 PM
I just went thourgh most of my comments and I don't see any addresses. I wasn't the tip begging type.
i do have an email address that is the same as the username but the guy changed my email address.

without a signed message from an old address your chance of getting your account back are quite low. but not impossible. you can try your luck and look for other means to prove your ownership of that account and PM theymos with your circumstances.
