903  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [POLL] Alternate cryptocurrencies, Is it time for subforums? on: December 24, 2013, 06:56:34 AM
@All

For all of you that do not know the history of the "Alt Section", it was created simply to keep the garbage out of the main Bitcoin forum.

At first the mods of the early Bitcointalk Forum would simply delete with extreme prejudice any post that was alt coin related that was posted anywhere on Bitcointalk until that proved to be a huge task. The Alt Section was then created as an "Alternative Trashcan" and was referred to as such by quite a few mods back in the day.

Theymos, the founder of this site has made it clear, there will not be any sub-forums for the "Alternate Trashcan" for any reasons ever.

Just FYI,

added: Last time I counted there were over 20 threads just like this. If you will search you will find direct answers and absolute answers from several mods. Some as recent as a couple of weeks ago.
904  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Vircurex just another scam-exchange now ??? on: December 21, 2013, 06:11:43 AM
Either Vircurex's display of chain hashpower and difficulty is broken or they have decided to jioin the ranks of the scam-exchanges who sell garbage that has such pathetically tiny difficulty and hashpower that it is basically just a freebie give-away for anyone with a handful of banks of Jupiters block-eruptors to PWN.

How is a coin that doesn't even have a few hundred millions of difficulty, heck doesn't even have a few tens of millions of difficulty, not automatically de-listed as too vulnerable to remain on an exchange Huh

WTF, once upon a time Vircurex seemed like it might actually be taking its business seriously, but if the figures it is showing for the difficulty and hashpower of the brand new scamcoin "DOGE" that they just listed today we'd better take all our money out of there since they obviously no longer care about security. Is there much likelihood at all that any of the coins they think they have in their wallet will still be there once the people trading DOGE to BTC and taking the BTC home with them release their alternative blockchain?

-MarkM-

What is it exactly that you are so butt hurt over?

How does the low hash rate of a coin and its subsequent forking compromise the security of Vircurex?

Am I doing something wrong? Getting 100kh/s with a 7850?

Am I off? Or it's normal?

Thanks!

You should be getting at least 320kh!

Everybody's saying I should get 300kh more. Any suggestions?

It's a Dell XPS 8700 with i74770 and a XFX R7850 core edition.
I did have some issues installing the GPU (some beeps during boot), but it stills runs fine.

cgminer.exe --scrypt  -o stratum+tcp://doge.scryptpools.com:3333 -u xxxxxx -p xxxxx  --thread-concurrency 4096 -I 11 -g 1 -w 256 -T

this will get you 315 khs on that card, use exact setting  and let me know what you get. Also make sure you are using CGminer 3.7.0 or earlier. CGminer 3.8.0 sucks Doge turds for mining Dogecoin LOL.

919  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: casascius and other physical bitcoins is a fraudulent idea on: December 02, 2013, 11:27:29 PM
Call me crazy but I am a little suspect of the agenda of a 2 day old newbie with 7 post all related to trashing physical Bitcoins and implying that Casascius, a member with a stellar reputation is less than trust worthy. I have had Cas Coins since the very early days and currently have quite a few and never have had any issue trusting him.

If you don't like them, don't buy them.

Back on topic: Was Cryptsy hacked? What happened to yesterday's order book?

No it wasn't hacked.

You're apparently just as bad at trolling and spreading FUD as you are investing LOL
