^^^ Don't listen to him, he's in gatorville, something in the water down there.  I'm closer to LA than San Diego.
302  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: CGMINER GPU FPGA overclock monitor fanspeed GCN RPC linux/windows 2.6.4 on: August 12, 2012, 04:41:47 AM
My temps have gone over the overheat threshold but didn't give me any kind of message.
What is cgminer's behavior supposed to be? Notifying or merely scaling back clock/voltages?

Maybe that only controls the auto fan speeds to the desired temperature but there's a temp cutoff i think i already reached and it did nothing as well or I wans't there to see anything done it was hashing at just over 90 degrees

i thought the fan speed would JUST be tied to the temperature GOAL, making overheat temperature a useless stat so far unless it IS only for setting AUTO GPU CLOCK which I don't use that feature

You need to use auto-gpu for temp cutoff to work, it will show OFF for any device that hits the value (95 default). If you don't want your clocks to throttle set a static range like 900-900. It's in the readme by the way  Wink

It would take more like $150 ea for me to part with my wonderful 5870's from the LA area.

What are you offering for each model?

Refurb 40gb HD ordered.  1.36 BTC.

Since I purchased some shares I have to ask, why not save some watts and $ by running BAMT on a USB? Might not save enough for new boots, but may increase dividends a bit.
307  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BAMT version 0.5 - Easy USB based mining Linux with farm wide management tools on: August 08, 2012, 06:25:16 PM
now where cgminer supports scrypt, can BAMT be used to that also then?

i've like to use BAMT on my LTC mining farm
I have a partway complete tutorial on how to mine LTC with BAMT on my forum.  It works, it's tested, but I need to tune it a bit.  Basically re-compile cgminer & blammo!  It works.

wow, nice.. could i get you to post it on the litecoin forum?, or if you wont, give me the right to post it?, it would be very usefull !

You just need to compile the current cgminer version (2.6.X) with the --enable-scrypt flag.  Just follow the few post that have cgminer upgrade instructions and add that.

EDIT: Please post confirmation when coin arrives

Received, thanks.

Thanks for the feedback guys!
309  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: New command-line tool for overclocking ATI cards (Linux) on: August 06, 2012, 05:48:16 PM
Hi,

When I use Atitweak -l it only lists performancelevel 0 and 1. There is no Performance level 2?

While mining I can use atitweak to change Engine and Memory but have to use Performance level 1 for anything to happen. The same with changing Voltage but the voltage actually never change.

In cgminer it also works to change the Engine clock and the Memory clock and it also says that "Driver reports success..." but the Voltage never changes.

It is the same experience with both the cards
MIS 7970 Lightening & Sapphire Dual-X OC

Any idea what I can do to change the voltage?

Best Regards
Robert

I think this is the usual ADL issue with linux.  You can't change voltage with 6xxx or 7xxx series, and memory has a difference limit, e-100 6870, e-125 69xx, e-150 7970.
310  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] Nyancat Financial on: August 06, 2012, 02:51:03 AM
If one wanted equal exposure to A, B, and C, is there any significant difference between purchasing shares of each versus just getting NYAN?

I was wondering this also.  The difference I see is you could gain/lose if the share prices of A, B, or C moved much more than NYAN.  But your dividend earnings should be equal.

I need to get rid of these 6950's, anyone interested in all 3 at a discount?
Could be how much including the shipping to Nova Scotia, Canada via the USPS Priority Mail International.

2 x Unlocked Sapphire Dirt 3 edition 6950 + 1 XFX 6950 - no retail boxes or accessories.  $515 Shipped to Canada...  I might refund a little of shipping I'm basing this off a large international flat rate box.

gnar1ta$ you'll have to quote this to make it a valid offer, it's your OP.

I can live with that, we'll wait for the quoting to consider it done then. PM me once that is done to finalize the deal.

Deal. PM on way.

317  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: BAMT revert overclock's back to STOCK! on: July 30, 2012, 01:54:18 PM
You are making more work for yourself. This is most likely the cause and fix:

Quote
Your overclocking was too high.

Your GPU locked up.

In order to make the best of the situation, BAMT has disabled O/C on that GPU and rebooted.

This allowed your rig to continue mining in a situation where otherwise it would have sat there locked up.  You're welcome.

Now you must reduce overclocking settings, remove the file in /live/image/BAMT/CONTROL/ACTIVE that has suspended o/c, and restart mining.

If you would just like your rig to crash add to your config.
Code:
detect_defunct: 0

So for 6 5970 cores

pre_oc_cmd: sudo aticonfig --od-enable --adapter=0 --odsc=744,248
pre_oc_cmd: sudo aticonfig --od-enable --adapter=1 --odsc=744,248
pre_oc_cmd: sudo aticonfig --od-enable --adapter=2 --odsc=744,248
pre_oc_cmd: sudo aticonfig --od-enable --adapter=3 --odsc=744,248
pre_oc_cmd: sudo aticonfig --od-enable --adapter=4 --odsc=744,248
pre_oc_cmd: sudo aticonfig --od-enable --adapter=5 --odsc=744,248

and all this can be done with the command
Code:
pre_oc_cmd: atitweak -e 744 -m 248 -P 2

Koooooj price includes shipping, I updated OP, thanks.  Had the 6970's less than 2 months, used from eBay.  They run Linux/cgminer 900/775 I 9 388 Mhash 70-74 C fans under 85%.  They are Diamond, I haven't tried to OC much more to keep temps without throttling.
