621  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help me understand - Who uses Faucets? , and why? on: February 13, 2015, 07:59:43 PM
Newbies use faucets which get's them used to the wallets and how to send BTC putting there address places to deposit also helps, gets them acquainted with smaller amount satoshi and fee's.

Not a money maker by a long shot but i learned alot threw them and earning my first ten cent in BTC  Grin
i kind of like this explanation , i could see how you'd like some first bitcoins etc to get started. but in my understanding the owners actually earn from these faucets , which probably means there's people that actually do like 20 faucets daily which i cant get into my mind.
622  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help me understand - Who uses Faucets? , and why? on: February 13, 2015, 07:57:48 PM
I can answer you. Faucets are used by newbies and people who believe that by using faucets they will earn something decent. First group are just being newbies, so it is to be expected but second group it simply stupid.
sure , but i see legendary , hero members , sr members etc suggesting people to use faucets which i still cant belive. i do belive why a newbie would get the impression that using a faucet would be a good idea tho.
623  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help me understand - Who uses Faucets? , and why? on: February 13, 2015, 07:56:41 PM
Well, it's a great way for newbies to get their hands on their first satoshis. Also, if you manage to somehow get a lot of referrals, you can get a decent amount.
a better way is to sign up to a campaign , and at the same time be able to actually learn something new at the same time , at a faucet you simply type random captcha's
624  Other / Meta / Re: Quickseller vs Legendster on: February 13, 2015, 07:53:38 PM
lol , why do you guys not just pm eachother concerning this , thanks for giving the community some drama tho.. im on legendster's side nobody should get marked a scammer just cause their asking for a loan.
625  Other / Meta / Re: Forum ranks/positions/badges (What do those shiny coins under my name mean?) on: February 13, 2015, 07:44:12 PM
So then activity is calculated by multiplying 14 by either my post count or number of days registered (which ever is lowest?)

Nope. See :

The activity number is determined in this way:
time = number of two-week periods in which you've posted since your registration
activity = min(time * 14, posts)

Rough summary of what this means: If you post once per day on average, then you will eventually get the maximum number of activity points that you can get. Posting more than once per day on average is useless for increasing activity. The maximum number of activity points you can get is 1 per day, but your activity score only updates every two weeks. Therefore, it will take about 100 days to get 100 activity if you post once per day on average.

I hope you understand what time is. Time is 2 week period, that is 14 days. You will only get maximum of 14 activity per 2 weeks(14 days) if you have made 14 or more posts. But if you have made less than 14 posts, for example 12, then when your activity updates, you will get 12 activity points. Here is the full list:

Know 'how many months/years it will take' (Thanks to hilariousandco for his post):

wah need longtime to up rank legendary 3 years. omg
but thanks for your information.
imo , the system is ait bad, if i post 100 poosts i should get more activity than someone that posted 14 posts , and about the legendary rank i beliv that 3 years for the best rank really isent that big. there should be 10 year ranks imo , and hopefully it will get implemented.
if you posts 2 posts you should have a 2 activity at day and the total of activity per day should be 2 , many of user just connect to post
with their bot 1 post every day and they have today thousands of dollars
i did not quite get where you got thousands of dollars from ? but i'd like to know

it was funny reading this thread, ito op just invest it in something abit less risky than bitcoin , maybe put like 10% in bticoin at most depending on how much you belive : >

Well, while bitcon can be pretty risky to invest in. It is at the same time something what can bring you the most money. If you are good in predicting bitcoin price you will be millionaire in no time.
its not possible to predict something that is constantly getting manipulated , and i told him to invest some in bitcoin , but its definetly nothing that you should be investing more money than you afford to lose in.

My point being , there's so many other much more profitable ways to be earning bitcoins can someone explain to me who the people using these are ? and why.
I am not sure if at all this topic is needed. There plenty of topics on faucets in this section and in most of them you will find suitable arguments for and against them. No need to start them anew here. I am personally considering faucet a waste of time.
its just that , i keep seeing people reccomending faucets to newbie's and its making me wondering cause everytime im at a faucet i see them givving less than a penny and takes about 30 seconds to complete. which is a complete waste of time.

Hey people , what are your thoughts on mining will there be more profitable hardware comming soon?
is it worth buying ASIIC's now?
is electricity gonna keep being an issue or will there come better ASIIC's which also takes less electricity?

Greetings TheTribesman, greetings all.

Obviously I'm not a noob in the cryptosphere Wink

A friend from 'another coin' said this was worth taking a look at. I'm mining OK @ Supra - ~4.4 MH/s from my HD7990 but despite everything I can think of (including looking for nodes on the block explorer) my wallet won't pick up a single connection to the network.

That's after nearly 3 hours Sad

So, has anyone got a decent 'add node' list they're prepared to post here?

I've never 'mined-to-market' since I started in DCs & I'd hate to have to start now - especially as I'm planning on staying around for the PoS-only days to come.

Thanks in advance.
the only node i know of is addnode=kobo.suprnova.cc
you should try it , hopefuly it fixes your issue :>

Was thinking about throwing some BTC in this, but the premine kinda holds me back :/

Hi Frtiz93,

100k Is held in escrow by ocminer a very trusted member of this forum and we hold around 30k.

The 100k Is the Occupy reserve and will be donated (Slowly) to the Occupy community, the other 30k will be used for giveaways.

If anyone has any ideas for giveaways, please let me know.

Dont let the Pre-Mine put you off. We have this for a reason.
giving away ocupy to those who promote ocupy in btt through their signature?

Good idea! Yes we could do that, to promote www.ocupy.net. I will let everyone know by tomorrow once I speak to the team. Thanks
erh, not completly sure what you mean . isent this already a thing? cause i saw a thread about it a few days ago

Yes that signature campaign will be hosted by hero member for us. lite is sugestting if it would possible to get paid in ocupy for promoting ocupy using his sig.
ah , thought so : > , thaks for clearing it up
