441  Economy / Speculation / Re: Time to buy! on: February 03, 2018, 11:38:45 AM
Right now is certainly an excellent time to buy, the market is likely to correct back to $12,000+ within a few weeks, netting everyone who invest now over 30% profit. Do not miss this opportunity, bitcoin is not a sinking ship, it has just hit turbulent waters, and will soon deliver us to the promised land!
442  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Are heavy fees and transaction delays in BTC causing crypto market to fail? on: February 02, 2018, 04:41:41 PM
The fees are massively lower lately, increases in segwit adoption and clearance of the mempool have drastically reduce the fees. The reason the market is falling is due to the news outlining potential regulatory changes in India and China, the crash is definitely transient, and will probably clear up within a couple of days.
443  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: ETH/BTC Seperate Charts? on: February 02, 2018, 04:38:17 PM
Usually they are both calculated against the dollar, or whatever the native currency you're looking at is. Then the two dollar values are compared against one another to produce a ratio that you see on most charts. On some websites they're compared against USDT which is usually exactly $1, but does vary slightly if demand increases.
444  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC WILL GO TO 4.5K $. on: February 02, 2018, 04:30:24 PM
BTC WILL GO TO 4.5K $. Sell NOw and buy again at 4.5K,
Remember last month I told you BTC will go to 7.5 k and some (most) of you not believed. Thread>>>> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2629639.0
Dont ask for  any detail,
Use your head.

I highly doubt it will go down to $4.5k, there is no indication that it will collapse by another 50%. That would be one of the largest collapses in bitcoin history. We are likely near the bottom of this drop, now is a very good time to invest.
445  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is this the end of crypto? on: February 02, 2018, 03:19:45 PM
This is nowhere near the end of crypto, bitcoin has taken hits like this in the past, at one point it dropped to 25% of its previous value. Currently it's dropped about 40-50% from its previous peak. Right now is actually a good time to invest, as it lets some of the smaller investors get in there and potentially profit when it rises back to its previous high.
446  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Most memorable ICO advertising you remember? Why? on: February 01, 2018, 02:16:43 PM
The Angel ICO was the most memorable one simply because it was the one I saw the most often, they had a very large signature campaign here on BTCtalk, and I even saw their adds on Google and Facebook (they must have had a big advertising budget). I didn't invest as I didn't research the ICO, but as far as I'm aware it was a very successful ICO.
447  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can actually Bitcoin be good for the environment? on: February 01, 2018, 02:11:31 PM
A lot has been said about mining and about the electricity consumption of the activities related to bitcoin mining. However, I have thought of the alternatives and how other systems produce not just energy waste, but also plenty of useless work and "human waste".

To have a network that can ensure the completeness of transactions, the global accessibility and all the features that bitcoins, and many alts, have at the moment, would probable produce a huge carbon footprint. Just think of the VISA system or the banking system... the amount of people working on it, the waste of commuting to works, the infrastructure.

Thinking of all that, would you still say Bitcoin is bad for the environment?

If you add up the total power required for the visa banking system, all the ATMs, all the card machines, all the servers, I am pretty sure it exceeds bitcoin. In any case, power requirements should never be used to put something down. Energy production via renewable sources is increasing, and an increase in power consumption might actually promote investments into better renewable tech. In the end, energy will be less of a concern when our production easily exceeds our usage (fusion anyone?).
448  Economy / Speculation / Re: The big schock coming! But to which levels? 8500 or further? on: February 01, 2018, 02:06:47 PM
I think a lot of buyers would approach if the price went that low.

1 BTC = 1 BTC Smiley

This will always be true. So long as people just try to grow their absolute BTC investment, and not worry about what the exchange rate is in terms of fiat, then they can only succeed (unless they're complete idiots).

Don't focus on how the market is "crashing" when all cryptos are down, just focus on making logical investments with your BTC. If you can't afford to convert fiat to crypto, then just invest in crypto, and trade sideways.
449  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin for old people? on: February 01, 2018, 02:03:22 PM
Have you ever tried to show an old person how to use a computer? My guess is no.... Let me tell you it is unbelievably difficult as old people tend to be highly computer illiterate, and most are not open to new ideas. The idea of opening bitcoin to old people is extremely unlikely as it relies on first teaching old people to use technology, something which is already extremely hard. The whole world doesn't need to know about bitcoin, only those that are willing to learn, that is enough.
450  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why aren't there more women in Bitcoin? on: January 31, 2018, 12:31:40 PM
Women tend to be edged out of technical fields, it may be that on average women lack the logic and reasoning skills that are required, or that they simply have less of an interest in computer related technologies. The mind of a man and a woman is very different, men tend to be better at problem solving, whereas women are better at caring, emoting and supporting. I would say it is this difference that is responsible for the disparity we see.
451  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will you donate Bitcoin for the poor and needy? on: January 31, 2018, 12:24:39 PM
Firstly, I doubt many truly poor people have the capacity to receive bitcoin, or the time and dedication requires to understand how it works. Furthermore, they likely wont have any place to spend it, as most stores that accept bitcoin are online only. If you really want to donate to the poor, give them the daily necessities they require, such as food, water, clothing and housing, if you can give them an opportunity for a job, that will do more for them than a few satoshi.
452  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Invest now - should or not? on: January 31, 2018, 12:21:58 PM
Right now is an excellent time to invest, last week there was a similar drop and the market, and then the value of the major cryptos increased by around 20% before this most recent drop. Hence if you invest now, I would expect you to make roughly 20% profit by the end of next week. Remember, buy low and sell high.
453  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin loses its popularity ? on: January 31, 2018, 12:20:26 PM
Actually, every coin is down right now;

https://coinmarketcap.com/

Bitcoin is down roughly 6% in the last 24 hours, whilst ripple is down almost 10%. This is an indication that the entire market is depressed, rather than people losing faith in bitcoin.
454  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is still the dominant virtual currency in 2018? on: January 30, 2018, 10:21:46 AM
Bitcoin has a market dominance of 35%.... 35% despite there being literally hundreds of crypto-currencies. That is an absolutely huge advantage, if bitcoin crashes, all other cryptos go down. If Ethereum/Ripple/Litecoin etc crash, bitcoin increases in value, that is how you know that Bitcoin is king of cryptos, it is the market leader in all ways, the global crypto trends follow the trends of bitcoin, not the other way around.
455  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Top reasons that leads to fail in trading on: January 30, 2018, 10:19:05 AM
Being emotional

You should consider trading like a computer would predict the next chess move, you analyse all the options available and you make your choice based on the options you have. Once you have already invested your only options are either hold for the long term, sell when in profit, or sell when at a loss. You should only sell at a loss when the market is quite clearly never going to recover, e.g. If you've bought in at the top of the pump of a sh!tcoin, just cut your losses and sell at whatever you can, as you're not getting your money back. For coins with a lot of long term potential, it is a poor idea to sell at a short term loss, just hold until you are happy with the gains.

Emotion should play no part in your decision making, if you just consider your bitcoins as valuable in and of themselves, trading to gain more BTC (irrespective of fiat value) should be your priority. e.g. If you own 1 bitcoin when it is $15,000, then after a series of trades you now have 1.2 bitcoin, but the value has dropped to $10,000 per btc, you can consider that a success as you've still improved your BTC holdings.
456  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is bitcoin like a Bubble ? on: January 30, 2018, 10:13:40 AM
I would say it is quite obvious bitcoin is not a bubble, bitcoin has been going strong for almost a decade now, that's an unusually long lasting bubble, even the dotcom bubble didn't last anywhere near that long. Bitcoin still has massive room for growth, with 100x growth still feasible, as clearly less than 100th of the population use bitcoin. I would say bitcoin is more like early currency, it will grow, it will expand, and its utility will increase as more use cases are discovered. Bitcoin will not pop any time soon, it is still in its infancy.
457  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If a friend ows you 0.1 Btc from Dec 2016 ... on: January 30, 2018, 10:07:40 AM
I'd have to subject him to slave labour until he had repaid my debts, send him down to mines to dig for diamonds and rubees until he has sufficiently repaid my debt plus interest, plus additional costs for the mental distress I endured for not having the 0.1BTC.

But more likely, I'd forget about ever reclaiming that money as it is obviously long gone. At least ask them when they'll pay it back, right now 0.1 is about $1100, so they can just pay you $1100 cash.
458  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Movie about Bitcoin's underlying technique on: January 29, 2018, 11:38:11 AM
This isn't a movie, it's a presentation. I do however think that there is untapped potential in making a movie or TV-series related to blockchain technology. If anybody wants to start creating one, I'll take 10% commission for my idea. It could be a crime thriller about how a serial killer is targeting people based on the number of bitcoins in their wallet, or possibly targetting all the major founders of bitcoin, ultimately culminating in an epic battle between Satoshi N. and the killer.
459  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why China is always bad news for bitcoin? on: January 29, 2018, 11:34:28 AM
China isn't ALWAYS bad news for bitcoin, much of bitcoin's early explosion in growth was due to the miner boom in China. Currently, China holds the lead for the most hashing power, because of this, they always hold a lot of sway in the value of bitcoin, and the level of fees required for transactions to be confirmed quickly. Recently, news about China's changing crypto regulations caused a small crash in the BTC price, due to misinformation, as nobody mentioned a ban, and yet panic still ensues.
460  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How did you first hear about bitcoin? on: January 29, 2018, 11:26:17 AM
First heard about bitcoin? of course very strange and strange, but after knowing about its work and purpose with in its create bitcoin and its usefulness yes of course very profitable and like there is a new world with its present bitcoin

What the fuck are you even saying? None of what you just said makes any sense. I can predict now that you're going to be a complete shitposter who is just posting to gain activity. Luckily the new merit requirements will keep you out of the higher tiers, as nobody is going to spend their sMerit on you.
