301  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: John Oliver 'You’re not investing, you’re gambling' on: March 14, 2018, 08:14:09 PM
I think John Oliver is correct to some degree, it is a gamble to invest in Bitcoin, as you are gambling that the price in X time will be worth more than when you bought in, otherwise why would you put your money into Bitcoin to begin with if you're not looking to either get more utility value, or cash out for additional fiat.
302  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So two things... on: March 14, 2018, 08:12:06 PM
You're likely to be making a heavy loss by running those GPUs to mine, unless you happen to start mining a new altcoin that suddenly moons.  You will need to replace your GPU once they being unprofitable to run, which in your case is right away. If you have free electricity, then you might as well start mining. There are pools that automatically switch mining power to the most profitable coin, those would be a good start for you.
303  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: which step i should take before buy bitcoin? on: March 14, 2018, 08:08:33 PM
Do your research before you decide to invest in any cryptocurrency. You should know that the market is particularly volatile right now, so you are likely to experience some losses over the next few days. I would start by looking at the various different places you can buy BTC, and work out which is best for you, e.g. Coinbase, localbitcoins or through an exchange.
304  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will the price be stable? on: March 13, 2018, 11:43:50 PM
Bitcoin is still growing at a rapid rate, you cannot expect stability until the number of users has stabilized and until demand is roughly equal to supply. Simple economics 101. If you want stability, look elsewhere for now.
305  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin or Altcoin?? on: March 13, 2018, 11:42:30 PM
I would stick with altcoins if you want to see serious growth potential. Take your time, do your research, read the whitepapers and invest sparingly. Only invest in coins that have serious utility, do not invest in gimmicks as 99% of the time you'll lose out. Also, make sure the team behind the project is strong, so many coins have big ideas and big plans, and then fail when it comes to making good on their promises.
306  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: KYC Data leak on: March 13, 2018, 11:40:15 PM
The ICO should be held accountable for their error. Forcing ICOs to perform KYC without having adequate security protocols or guidelines in place means that leaks like this are likely to continue until someone takes a hammer for it. Stay away from ICOs that mishandle your data.
307  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BEST methods of growing your Bitcoins. on: March 13, 2018, 11:34:16 PM
You forgot the main one. Sells your goods for Bitcoin. Many members here would be happy to send you crypto rather than fiat for your goods,  you might even be able to charge a little premium for the service. Also, you can earn bitcoins by creating your own BTC based ICO.
308  Economy / Economics / Re: BITCOIN PRICE IN 2050 - ACCORDING TO VITALIK BUTERIN! on: March 12, 2018, 10:06:41 PM
1. What do people think of Vitalik’s interesting answer here, and his long-term prediction and reasoning for BTC and altcoins survival and growth in

It's strange that Vitalik would paint such a rosy picture for Bitcoin's future. Isn't Ethereum supposed to be superior in pretty much every way? If so, he should predict bitcoin to be close to zero, whilst ETH would be closer than $1m. Doesn't seem like he has much faith in his coin.
309  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Invest or bounty? on: March 12, 2018, 10:02:29 PM
It depends on your user rank and how much you're willing to invest. A higher rank user such as a hero or legendary member would probably be better off just participating in the bounty, as they usually get a large share of the stakes for doing so. A newbie or Jr member might think twice about wasting their time with bounties, as they tend to pay very little. Also, if there is a lot of competition for stakes, it might be best just to invest, as you might end up with less rewards than you think otherwise.
310  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are the best ways to market an ICO? on: March 11, 2018, 10:40:20 PM
The best way I've noticed is in subway stations. Have small posters with engaging content about the seats on the subway, and along near the escalators. The number of views they get, and the distribution of the audience is certainly worth the cost. I've seen a number of ICOs advertised in this way, and the ones that were, tended to be quite successful. But then again, they were large to begin with and so could afford this route of advertisement.
311  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investing still worth in Crypto? on: March 11, 2018, 10:38:13 PM
Of course crypto is still worth investing in, there have been numerous altcoins that have seen 10x, even 20x growth in just 2018 alone.

If you're looking at the top 10 by market cap, then you're unlikely to see such radical improvements in the short term due to the current market conditions. But there is definitely a lot of potential to make money in the low market cap coins.
312  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN IN 10 years. on: March 11, 2018, 10:35:32 PM
I think Bitcoin will be a much different coin than we are used to today. I think that the smart-contract functionality will be expanded upon in a soft-fork at some point, and that the lightning network will be in widespread use throughout Europe. I think it will have a big competitor in the digital space due to NEO, but I think there will be plenty of room for both of them.
313  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: US Marshals auction on: March 11, 2018, 10:34:19 PM
I wish I had been at that auction, since I'm sure they probably sold it for quite a big discount due to the low attendance familiar with bitcoin. Still, I think it's good news, because at least they understand it's a valuable asset, I'd like to know if they paid tax on the sale.
314  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: I need advice from experts on: March 10, 2018, 11:03:58 PM
It really depends how much of a target you are, if you're a whale sitting on some serious coin, it would be a wise investment to use a tiny fraction of this to invest in a Nano S or Trezor wallet. Once you've got a hardware wallet it won't be necessary to switch to a more secure operating system, as the hardware wallet will protect you adequately.
315  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: TRANSLATION CAMPAIGN!!! on: March 10, 2018, 11:02:05 PM
You don't necessarily need a portfolio, most bounty managers will simply accept the first candidate that makes their application. Just ensure that your English, and your other language have good spelling, grammar and language, so that when they check through your post history they will see that you're capable of doing the job.
I do understand how to do ANN translation, but  can you please tell if you know what are the standards for doing white paper translation? As I understand you have to open white paper in Photoshop, erase old text without damaging the pictures using clone stamp tool, and then put there your text, and after that you have to save that white paper on google disc, right?

Yes, you simply modify the supplied image. Many bounties will even provide you a .psd if you ask for it.

Once that's complete, check the thread and see how they want it uploaded, if there is no information there, either PM it to the manager after uploading to Google Drive, or post a link in the thread. Remember to check back later to ensure it's been approved.
316  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: TRANSLATION CAMPAIGN!!! on: March 10, 2018, 11:00:32 PM
In many cases you don't even need a portfolio to begin translating for campaigns, just make sure you're one of the first applicants and you're likely to be selected. Otherwise, you can simply translate a few articles and use those for the beginning of your portfolio. So long as the manager can see that both your English and your other language are good, then you'll probably be hired. The most important thing is applying early.
317  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it better to have many altcoins or it is enough to have few? on: March 10, 2018, 10:57:06 PM
Well the most obvious answer is that having a large number of coins distributes your risk nicely. However, if all of your altcoins end up being sh*tcoins, then that doesn't really help you. Personally, I try not to invest in too many altcoins at once, as it becomes difficult to keep track of all the trends, so you'll probably fail to maximize your profit. I would recommend just investing in a few (less than 10) and getting to know their markets very well, so you can profit most.
318  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: IF IM SATOSHI NAKAMOTO !!!!! on: March 10, 2018, 10:55:12 PM
Since you can barely spell, I doubt you would actually find a solution to any of these, if you can't even master basic language skills.

However, if I were Satoshi, I would kick back and relax, enjoying the tens of thousands of bitcoins I likely have stashed away.
319  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 5 Winners of the day on: March 09, 2018, 09:39:42 PM
Nearly all of these are probably rising due to being select by pump and dump groups. I bet if you check these again in a month or so they will back at, or below their original level. Any coin that rises more than 500% in a day is immediately suspect.
320  Other / Meta / Re: Why i got banned? on: March 09, 2018, 09:36:21 PM
You got banned because you didn't capitalize your I.

Do you not consider yourself important enough to capitalize your personal pronoun?
