How long after encrypting and unlocking the wallet does it take for staking to start?
Staking happens automatically once you have sufficient stake weight (a combination of number of coins eligible to staked and the number of days since the coins were last staked). The higher your total stake weight in relation to the rest of the network, the more likely staking for your eligible coins will occur and the longer the coins take before staking, the more accrued interest you will receive from the 0.1% accumulated per day from all eligible coins after the minimum 1 day holding period.

You don't need to leave the wallet open for your coins to accumulate stake age, but you do need the wallet open and unlocked for staking to occur. You also don't lose any accumulated stake interest by waiting for the staking to occur as long as your eligible coins stake at least once every 100 days (maximum stake holding period). Each time you transfer coins from to or from the wallet, the stake age for those coins resets and you will have to wait a minimum of 1 day before they become eligible for staking again. The coins that remain unmoved will continue to accumulate stake age until they stake and then the stake cycle for those coins begins over again. Most PoS coins work in the same way.

I've not tried this before with JPC, or any other staking coin, so...

I receive around 1000jpc total in staking every day for the past few weeks but it's split up in about a dozen separate transactions (eg 33jpc, 122jpc, 9jpc etc) If I use coin control to try and get the stake arriving in less transactions (hopefully 1 per day), will the new total daily amount of stake I receive be reset to a lower amount until it builds back up again? Or will it stay roughly the same as to what it was before combining?

How do you get stake coins I leave my wallet open and I don't get anything at all?Huh

2626  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Has anyone tried cooling their rig like this? on: June 06, 2014, 03:44:07 AM
I've not made a peltier equipped gpu or cpu cooler. Just pointing out it would be the way to go for anyone working on a super cooler.

I don't have any pics of a peltier. They're easy to find on Ebay though. It's a flat chip with 2 wires coming out of one end. They come in different sizes. For the coleman cooler, the peltier has a heat sink on each side of the chip. One side gets hot, the other gets cold.  By reversing the DC leads, you can change which side heats and which side cools.

If a person placed the cooling side of the peltier directly on a CPU or GPU, then used a heat sink on the hot side to remove the heat from the system, it should work like a charm.

Best, Chris B.

Edited for spelling*

Thank you very much i just ordered some gonna give a try!
2627  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Has anyone tried cooling their rig like this? on: June 05, 2014, 10:31:56 PM
As the ice inside the gallon jug melts, there will be alot of condensation on the outside of the jug. Kinda like when you leave a glass of drink containing ice on the table for a bit. The cool temp of the vessel, cools the surrounding air near its surface to its condensation point, so condensation is deposited on the surface.

Have you ever looked into peltier coolers?  Very neat little items. Add a DC voltage to the 2 wires, one side gets hot the other gets cold. I have a coleman 12 volt cooler that works as good as any fridge. It contains 1 small peltier cooler chip with a heat sink on each side. And the way peltier coolers are made, you could sandwich one to a cpu or a gpu chip and have a supercooling system without alot of cost. The peltier devices are available on Ebay for a few bucks. That's a much better way to go IMO, it'll save you from condensation and the pain of constantly freezing ice for the ice bucket cooler.

I personally think an extra cooler for a GPU is not needed. As long as the heat sinks and cooling fans are clear of dust debris, they will run cool. Most overheating problems can be solved with some compressed air and a vacuum cleaner to remove the dust clogging the heat sinks and fan blades on the cards. I had experienced some cooling problems on my 7950's about 2 months after installation. The temps simply started rising day by day. Each day the things became more difficult to cool. They went from running 68 to 70 to running 80 and eventually 85. I had added box fans blowing directly into the open chassis on the cards, with little cooling gained. I tried lower hash settings, but that didn't help. I was about to pull my hair out.

Finally , I did a dumb thing. I couldn't physically see the fans moving because of the card's location in the chassis, so I stuck my fingers near the cooling fans on one GPU to feel if there was any air movement (to verify the fans were turning) BZZZT....I touched the fan blades by accident. When I did this a cloud of dust flew out of the fan, a few seconds later, the GPU temp dropped a few degrees.

I pulled the cards and sure enough, they were completely clogged. I was shocked at the amount of dust that was packed into the card heat sinks and on the fan blades themselves (except the one I touched of course). A vacuum cleaner wouldn't pull it all out from between the grills in the heat sink. I had to physically remove the dust clogging some of the grills with a small eyeglass repair screwdriver. This happened over a period of 2 months!

Cooling problems = Dust in your GPU card heat sinks.

Best, Chris B.

can you add a picture of how is done so we can get a better ideal???

If people are interested I could make a few signatures that link to this thread like the one below for promotion of this coin on this or any forum.  Colours and wording can of course be changed, the one below is just an example.

Virtual coin  VGW  X11  3 million total coins  NO PREMINE
▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔

Depending on what member level you are will also affect what you can have as a signature too.  I can make signatures depending on member level if needed.

at what level do i have to be to be able to use a sug like this one?

What does --compact do/mean exactly? Does it work for x11 too, or just x13?

i dont really know what it  means or whats its purpose i just copied from here and play with it, and is with x11 havent try it with x13 but thats what am about to do...
2632  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][X11/X13] X11 (Darkcoin)/X13 (Marucoin) miner (based on sph-sgminer) on: June 03, 2014, 03:47:13 PM
problem with x13

running r9 270

getting errors:

100 % rejected
invalid nonce error
Which pool? Is it really x13 algo?

I was testing it on nicehash stratum+tcp://stratum.nicehash.com:3337
Did you try a specified Nicehash miner: https://nicehash.com/software/?
Quote
Note: darkcoin and darkcoin-mod represents x11 and x11mod (optimized), respectively; marucoin and marucoin-mod represents x13 and x13mod (optimized), respectively.

now moved to random x13 stratum pool https://maru.suprnova.cc

still same problem, errors:

Invalid nonce count - HW Error
Rejected - Share is above target

skipping configuration option "kernel", invalid parameter set_kernel

Finally got mine to work (better late than never)

Had a type many lines down that I couldn't see on teamviewer ! Doh!

All the same, make sure you get the latest update for X13 - second link down on the op! could well be your issue.

sgminer.exe --kernel x13mod -o stratum+tcp://opc-stratum.pool.mn:7845 -u uername p password -g 4 -w 128 --thread-concurrency 8192 -I 20 --compact

Gets me 5Mhs  on 2 x R9 290 (non x)

Will have to do for now.

X11 - I get 2.90-3mhs on each of my 290s with this :
Code:
-I 18,18,16  -g 2 -w 128,128 --thread-concurrency 8192 --gpu-engine 0-0 --gpu-memclock 0 --gpu-memdiff 0 --gpu-vddc 0.000 --auto-fan --temp-cutoff 92,92 --temp-overheat 85,85 --temp-target 70,70 --gpu-powertune 0
Hope that helps am still looking for the best perform for x13 i cant pass 2mhs if anybody have those settings for 290nonX for x13 please post it, wait i just add this --compact and now each is giving me 3.50-370mh/s!  Shocked  Smiley  ...

Hey all, I am solo mining and just found a block 3 hours ago but it is not getting confirmed.  Is something up?

Do I need to check anything on my end?  In the past they did not take this long to get confirmed and credited.

New to this coin and solo mining.

Thanks!

What you're hashrate? I though it was very hard by now to mine solo....

when you dev realise that diff 10 after 10 sec is not good, because it doesn't mean the coin is not instamined, it mean that a huge farm have instamined it and no coin for small farmer...

basically 0 distribution

you right i start to mine 10 sec after the password was posted with 15mhs and i couldnt fine a single block...
