1901  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: About Casino Licenses on: September 28, 2022, 05:56:09 AM
Hello,

Is it possible and legal to open an online casino without a license?
I have heard that a license only allows to put users in confidence
What do you think about this?

In many respects the internet is still somewhat of a wild west. You don't need a license strictly speaking, but if you take deposits and allow gambling by users of certain countries then you will eventually draw the attention of the authorities. People will lose money, people will complain, unless you have extremely good vetting a few underage users will get caught up on your site. Many gambling companies block certain jurisdictions like the UK and US who can likely give them the most legal trouble.
1902  Economy / Economics / Re: Business failure among small-scale entrepreneurs on: September 27, 2022, 09:21:20 PM
Any  business can fail if not well manage. It is one thing to start a business and it another thing for the your business to stand firm for life. These are examples of Nigerian Businesses that Failed Within 5 Years:

Reason why businesses may fail
👉 Poor Customer Care/Support
Customers need proper attention for a business to survive. Without them, your product will fail to exist. When customers are not well treated or appreciated, they often become dissatisfied, leave bad reviews and patronize others.

👉 Mismanagement of Funds
Some small businesses fail because the owners mismanaged the business funds and there was no accountability.

👉 Inadequate Financing
Huge number of entrepreneurs make a common mistake of starting a business with no adequate operating funds. Most small business owner start their business without having enough that can finance the budget of their business. Some start the business with loan with heavy interested.

👉 Poor Business Management
The management play a key role to sustain a business. It comprises of activities such as planning, organizing, staffing, directing, motivating, controlling, co-coordinating and communicating. When a business is poorly managed, its death is imminent. Management

👉 Inability to Communicate Value
Communication is highly important in businesses. This is the only language your customers here. Some small businesses fail because of their inability to clearly define their value propositions — that is, they fail to understand and communicate their products or services to consumers effectively.

👉 Wrong Expectations
Some startup and small business owners expect money to start rolling into their business account immediately with doing little or nothing.
The idea of starting a business with the wrong expectations and impatience has made many businesses to collapse within a short period of time.

👉 No Planning
Most small scale businesses start the business without a concrete plan. They rush into business because they see people make ways from it. To start a business, one need to make proper findings about the business. Failure to plan may lead to the downfall of the business.

👉 Lack of Focus
Investing in many things almost at the same time is not healthy fora business. Engaging in so much things at a time may make them run out of cash. This on the long run will affect the financial aspect of the initial business. At the long run, they end up closing down the business.

CONCLUSION
Establishing a strong and firm business doesn't come easy. It involves patient, time, passion and hardworking. Young entrepreneurs should try to learn from failed businesses and guide themselves with successful businesses.

Starting a small business is incredibly difficult and I cannot remember the statistic, but something ridiculously high like 9 out of 10 businesses will fail in the first couple years. It really requires a whole other level of commitment and multitasking ability. Depending on which business you choose, it can require learning all kinds of different and varied abilities. You might have to be the idea developer, the product manufacturer, the art designer, the accountant, the marketing manager and all sorts of other parts. Most people are also starting on a rather limited budget, or quickly use up their starting capital and end up losing a lot of money. Even if you are successful, things like burnout through overwork can easily creep up on you.
1903  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My worst day in gambling on: September 27, 2022, 08:26:45 PM
I believe everybody has their worst day in gambling especially if you started gambling early maybe in your teenage age. My worst day was when I used my school fees to gamble because I thought I will make more money to take care of some of my needs in school. At the beginning I was making profit for 2hrs,I was carried away with the anxiety of winning but later the game turned round and I was losing and losing,I didn't quit hoping I will recover my lost. Before I knew it I was left with 10% of the money I started with, I couldn't just quit the game then because I still feel I will start winning again but luck failed me and I got drained of all I have on me.

Two weeks later it was announced in school that we only had one more week left for closure of school fees payment, I tried borrowing, seek for help everywhere but nobody could help me with the money.  This was how I couldn't pay my fee for that semester and went home with carry overs after the end of the semester as I was not allowed to write some exams.

How about you do you had a worst day on gambling  that you will never forget ?Did it affect an aspect of your life and how ?

I don't honestly have a worst day in gambling, just a few rather mediocre level losses that probably burned me for a while and actually did well to discourage me from gambling away any higher amounts. When I hit the $50-100 losses in a day, that is enough for me to bail out and probably choose a different activity for a long while. It's happened in a couple poker sessions over the years, it's happened when switching from football betting into horse betting and not understanding that the chances of winning are calculated completely differently. Guess I've been fairly fortunate but also never had a desire to gamble at any higher levels because the risk is not worth the reward to me.
1904  Economy / Economics / Re: A great resignation is incoming to the IT powerhouse of the world on: September 27, 2022, 07:37:42 PM
News Source: https://www.michaelpage.co.in/talent-trends/the-great-x

Michael Page is a renowned HR consultancy company in India and they have forecasted that a great resignation is going to hit India very soon. The key points are -

Quote
1. 86% of employees are planning to resign in the next 6 months
2. 61% of employees are willing to accept a lower salary or a promotion to focus on better work-life balance

We are already seeing a huge amount of attrition in companies like Cognizant, Infosys and TCS with Cognizant leading in this slab with 36% quarterly attrition.

Personally, I lead a team of 70+ associates and around 40% of them have expressed their intent to resign if they are forced to come back to office. It's a huge challenge for many other Indian companies as well.

A huge negative economic impact will most probably follow after this great resignation but it's going to fight the current inflation in India. With less spending by people and with less growth in demand, the inflation may come within controllable range.

Any thoughts?

This sort of research is clearly ridiculous and only designed as clickbait to fool gullible viewers. There is not going to be some sort of mass exodus of IT workers, it is probably one of the highest paying sectors within India but let's face it the jobs are not pleasant. It will be really basic stuff like data entry or even call center type jobs, very repetitive with little satisfaction. However they are still in a highly privileged position in comparison to hundreds of millions of other Indian's who are having to do lower level jobs and they will cling on to IT work for as long as possible because the alternative is much worse. Nobody wants to work, they do it to pay for housing and food to live.
1905  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Parents And Their Children In Gambling.. on: September 27, 2022, 06:35:25 PM
We are going to be using Micheal Jordan as our case study :

Micheal Jordan gambled away $5 million dollars in one night[1], he is a Billionaire, but that does not remove the fact that that's a hell lots of money to gamble away in just one night, you might want to say he is an adult and a Billionaires, and he is free to spend his money in which ever way he wants - understandable... Now, what about his son?

Marcus Jordan is just 19 years old, he spent a whooping $50,000 dollars in one night in Las Vegas on gambling and drinking in a strip night club[1][2][3], the report shows he threw away $35,000 in gambling while $15,000 went into drinking alcohol and girls in the club, and do not forget that it is illegal to drink and gamble under the age of 21 in the state of Nevada where they live....

The young lad even posted that night's expenditures on his Twitter account where he said , and I quote....
Quote
"Last night was stupid... 35K at Haze," the University of Central Florida sophomore guard said. "Totals 50K something the whole day."
but according to report, the tweet got deleted.

This (from the articles) I believe happened in 2010, but I believe it's a fresh story for those of us getting to know this for the first time,

What do you make out of this story, should we really allow our children to live such a lifestyle like gambling and night clubbing, most especially, when they are still under aged?

Let's discuss about this..

It's hard to pass judgement in this scenario for me, because they simply exist in a different realm of wealth than 99.999% of the worlds population. The figures they talk about sound huge, they are huge, but to them it still makes up a proportionally tiny amount of their wealth. You only get to be young once and it is nice that Michael Jordan gave his son some chances to let loose and really have a wild time, people need to learn the limits or he might have gone even crazier if he got access to it later in life. To me though, it seems that Michael has a serious gambling problem if he is losing that much in one session, but we don't really know how much he scraped back out of it.
1906  Economy / Economics / Re: The economic effect of people flying from RF mandatory conscription on: September 26, 2022, 09:15:23 PM
The Russian Federation is conscripting around 300.000 troops (take with a pinch of salt). This comes, in theory from reservists and, as usual, most recruits will come from the politically irrelevant regions in the East and South. Many people in the RF know that there are good chances of getting killed in Ukraine and the RF is not being attacked (rather the opposite). In a regime that is quite harsh with protesters and opposition, it is remarkable how many are publicly protesting across the country.

By contrast, other have decided to simply leave. When the war begun, many flew and now even more. The people who can afford to do so and live away for a long time are precisely the professional elite and the most capable individuals (doctors, engineers, IT people, expert economists and similar). I think that this is going to have a deep effect in the economy of the RF.

Would you run away to avoid conscription? What will be the effect on RF economy?

The Russian economy is in ruins already right now, they managed to keep the illusion going for the first 6 months - before Putin was finally so stupid as to turn off the oil and gas taps to Europe for the last time. Even in the whole of the Soviet union and the Iron Curtain the Russian government saw how valuable an income source it created. In just the last two days the Russian stock exchange has collapsed further than ever before and remember that is happening when foreign nationals are not allowed to sell stocks, so it's all locals cashing their stocks out. Almost all foreign businesses which brought vitality to the Russian markets have pulled out and getting hold of vital components will become ever harder. Frankly the conscription will be the only reliable job left in Russia very soon, that is how stupid their government have let them down for a petty war.
1907  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Reputation on: September 26, 2022, 08:14:33 PM
You're a professional like a lawyer or a teacher in a respected university, will it harm your reputation if people around you or your students discover that you are into gambling, you're not really a compulsive gambler but gamble for entertainment, how will you explain this to people around you or will you explain to protect your reputation or just ignore them.

It's probably not something you want to advertise if you're in one of those professions, but there is a big difference between the two you just offered as examples. Lawyers might work in relatively small and sometimes isolated scenarios, where they might just be in touch with a few other colleagues of similar stature and lots of admin staff doing lower level jobs. If it is done simply for fun, then nobody will care although it may just be a hobby to keep private anyway. If you're a teacher you might be in more of an unstable and vulnerable position, it could be used by students or even other staff members to cause problems for you, again there is little reason to be sharing such details because it will not help you in any way.
1908  Economy / Economics / Re: GPU price in China drop to their lowest level in histor after the ethereum merge on: September 26, 2022, 08:03:41 PM
This life is not balanced at all, but humans make it more to be not balanced. Humans can turn blind us on something and be full of blatant misconceptions. A good instance of this is the bitcoin proof of work (PoW). What did some people said about it? They said bitcoin mining should be banned. Bitcoin miner are working more to the side of using clean energy to mine bitcoin, like waste gasses of the by-product in crude oil refineries and the use of others like hydroelectric power generation and solar energy.

After the Ethereum merge from PoW to PoS, some organizations wanted bitcoin to change to PoS too, but that is never going to happen for now. Instead of people to focus more on how the world can stay away from the use of fossil fuels to generate energy, which are releasing high amount of carbon, all they know is to focus on bitcoin PoW. Is bitcoin PoW the problem? No. Most problem are the countries that have no other alternatives than to use fossil fuels to produce energy.

When crypto mining was banned in China, GPU price dropped significantly. Recently after Ethereum merge, the price of GPU has fallen again, but to its lowest in history.

GPU prices in China drop to their lowest levels in history after the ethereum merge

If no electricity is produced, no labour in electricity sector. The more electricity that is produced, more labour, more employment. Companies that are manufacturing GPU, ASIC and other miners are employing workers. It means more employment.

PoW has resulted to increase in employment, but people do not want to understand than saying it is deteriorating the environment. But the deterioratiion caused by PoW is far less than the one caused by other activities like gold and other mineral mining, other industrial activities and many others that is leading to global warming.

You have some weird thought processes and come to some very strange conclusions. Taking your electricity "argument" nonsense for example, that's simply not how it works. An efficient market works on supply and demand - if miners were the productive source of revenue generation that you suggest, then they would still be using and driving up energy prices. However they are simply not profitable any more, so any potential addition to the electricity grid that was spurred by the cryptocurrency trend will either be utilized by other industry or retired if it is not economical. The labor market is changing constantly, but you seem to suggest that electricity has no demand just because a few miners drop out, it's simply untrue.
1909  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: About Online casino/gambling projects on: September 26, 2022, 07:27:40 PM
I am starting to have this crazy interest in crypto gambling projects like online casinos and stuff but I want to ask, this utility have been around for years but is there any old project that live this long and still functions?

Also what are the things that kills such project because even one or two survived for long I don't see many alive till now, they fail easily or turn scam later.

It's a bit of a bizarre question to ask in a forum that is packed full of threads about different gambling companies that have existed for many years already. Are you looking for smaller scale projects that maybe revolve around one game? The thing is, these companies have to grow big and fast or they might get stamped out by all sorts of effects. These days if you want to successfully launch a new crypto casino or sportbook you really need to have deep pockets because there are a lot of factors conspiring to put you out of business and the basic infrastructure you'll need requires a lot of upfront costs. Then you have to plow in a lot of cash in advertising along with offering things like welcome bonuses, and maybe run at a loss for the first couple years while building a reasonable user base.
1910  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Education seems to have failed in some developing country on: September 26, 2022, 07:24:23 PM
Most people go to school believing that they will get a job after schooling. In most developing country, the rate of unemployment keep increasing every year as graduate are produced every year to the labor market with a decline in rate of job opportunity. Using Nigeria as a case study, over 600,000 graduates are produced every year to the labour market with no job opportunity. This make the rate of unemployment increase every year.

Due to this, most youth believe education as failed them after graduated for years without a job. Alot of graduate are into transportation and other minor stuff that are irrelevant to thier course of study to sustain their living.

Quote
This is seen in a case where some students went back to their school to demand for a payback of all money spent during their schooling period after graduating for years without job.

My question is: Does education guarantee a job.

Answer: No

Being educated means you are trainable i.e you should be able to use your acquired knowledge to creat space for yourself in the labour market even if their isn't any job opportunity. Education will give you some skills that make you different from an illiterate.

CONCLUSION
School gives certificate but doesn't guarantee a job. Education never fails, it's gives knowledge and skills. This knowledge and skills acquired through it brings breakthrough on the long run. Therefore, graduate should think beyond getting a job after schooling but plan on how to utilize the knowledge and skills acquired through their education to create jobs for themselves and others.

It feels a bit like it is not necessarily education but more about history and geography than anything else. If a society is so full of corruption along with high degrees of absolute poverty, it requires a totally monumental effort to elevate it to the next stage. China has been able to achieve it somewhat, but the first couple decades were undoubtedly rough for the workers in the factories. I'm not sure that Nigeria even has the same level of natural resources and the climate actually works against the country in many ways, it is hard to be as productive in searing heat. Education is certainly important but you do need a lot more infrastructure and services to make it useful in application.
1911  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When betting becomes to high on: September 25, 2022, 02:38:11 PM
Have you ever had an experience betting in which you knew that you were going over the limits of you finances and still continued? I have one playing a game, it was absorbing plenty of my time and despite me knowing it, I was kind of hooked on it. It was not a financial problem, but left me wondering how easy is to actually fall into a bad habit and how difficult is to break it.

It is easy for these type of addictions to creep up on you, but recognizing that you are spending too much time on one particular thing is essential to breaking the cycle. Then again, in the example that you gave it is not necessarily a bad thing - all too often people go out and spend ridiculous amounts of money on other activities to fill their time, which aren't necessarily good value for money, just because they want to copy a celebrity or think they need to do something action packed every day. It can be much more wise to acknowledge you like playing games a few hours per day, where you might otherwise have been frittering money away elsewhere. It's finding the right balance and portion control.
1912  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can i get banned for Card Counting in online casinos? on: September 25, 2022, 12:42:47 PM
Card counting is not illegal, but in real life casinos people get kicked from casinos for this action, and casinos really hate people using this methods because it gives some advantage to the users.

If you don't know how card counting works you can read this explanation from fiulpro:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5273810.0

Or you can watch this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rjfLuM-Pqr8

Here the question is, have you ever seen a user getting banned from an online casino for card counting?

To be clear, card counting isn't a method to always win, it's just a method to have better odds.

No, this will not happen and anyone who understands the basic concept of card counting would know that already. Firstly, if you're playing a virtual game of blackjack (as opposed to a "live stream") then every hand is randomly calculated and there is essential no deck available to count at any stage, the house controls the algorithm entirely and will always end up the long term winner. Secondly, if you are playing a live game they will be presenting a version of the game that does not allow for card counting because they have no way to prevent it like they would by kicking someone out from a physical casino - they will simply reshuffle the whole deck (or multiple decks) every single hand or some other method that will nullify card counting techniques.
1913  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Go home with a profit and come back to end up losing a lot. on: September 24, 2022, 07:49:55 AM
A friend of mine works in a casino (land-based) and he told me yesterday that there was a client who with a stroke of luck won a good amount, about $8k. He exchanged the chips for cash and went home. After about half an hour, my friend sees him walk back in the door and went on a gambling binge all the night, only to end up losing his winnings and more.

At the end of the session he signed the self-exclusion.

If it weren't for the fact that this person is going through a drama, the story would make you want to laugh.

Has this ever happened to you or do you know of cases like this?

It is tragic but this is a major reason for things like welcome bonuses in live casinos. They'll offer to register for a membership card on your first arrival and in return you might get certain freebies - like $25 free play. The hardest part for most casinos is "developing" a new player, the fact they've got someone through the door is a major win and they want to convert that person into a regular - or at least until they can clear out their bank account. Many people are creatures of habit, if they get a few wins under their belt - seeing all the flashing lights and loud noises celebrating a win, that will trigger happy emotions. Then, in the back of their mind, little seeds start getting planted where they store the happy wins but conveniently forget the many tiny losses that outweigh them.
1914  Economy / Economics / Re: UK Under Recession, Inflation Hitting World Strong Economies on: September 24, 2022, 07:03:16 AM
Information reaching now that UK Economy now in Recession despite all the struggles through the economy recent challenges to avoid this from happening, it was noted that countries like China and US have also been battling with such downward trend in their GDP for this 2022 Q3 season and inflation has been contending with developed and advanced countries economy, the UK economy has been experiencing unstable price control  over it domestic produce with a drop in it labour market recently, it could be noticed that few weeks back, it was noted that UK economy on brink of recession before this could not eventually got mitigated to this time as inflation does not only appear with UK but with other strong countries and their economy, let's take a look proper.

From UK Economy

UK-weighted global GDP growth appeared to be slowing in 2022 Q3, with data coming in a touch below the already weak expectations at the time of the August Monetary Policy Reporthttps://www.bankofengland.co.uk/monetary-policy-summary-and-minutes/2022/september-2022

From US Economy

In the United States, GDP was expected to grow by 0.2% in the third quarter, marginally lower than had been anticipated in the August Report, following Q2 GDP growth of -0.1%, which had been weaker than expected https://www.bankofengland.co.uk/monetary-policy-summary-and-minutes/2022/september-2022

From China Economy

Quote
China’s GDP growth was likely to be weaker in 2022 Q3 than had been anticipated at the time of the August Report. In July, fixed asset investment and industrial production had fallen, and the rate of growth in retail sales had slowed https://www.bankofengland.co.uk/monetary-policy-summary-and-minutes/2022/september-2022

An official statement coming from The Bank of England’s Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) that after consultations from the concerned stakeholders and committee (MCP) from it just concluded meeting on the 21st of September 2022 the final conclusion is on: Bank Rate increased to 2.25% - September 2022 with these, isn't the whole world economy tied to inflation and recession because some were just managing to schew out of it before this one coming in again, the strong and giants are falling, what shall be the fate of the weak and developing countries in this economic perilous time.

There was a new UK "budget" released yesterday which is absolutely horrendous. The current party in charge took some of the most fiscally irresponsible actions you could possibly imagine, they stripped back lots of laws and ultimately helped the poorest the least while giving massive tax cuts to the richest. It is going to cause even greater problems in balancing the books and the stock market took yet another hammering. It seems that the UK is constantly stuck with some dire class of politicians and a political party that has become rotten after 12 years in power, who are only interested in serving the billionaires that they have private meetings and probably party with when they should be working.
1915  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gacha Game on: September 23, 2022, 07:19:26 PM
Anyone here played games like FGO, Epic Seven, or Summoners War before? Do you consider it to be some kind of gambling addiction if a player whales or spend tons of money in the game just to get a certain item?

For those who don't know, a gacha game is a genre of video game where players pull, spin, or roll using an in-game currency to receive a random item. That item can be something that could make their characters stronger or sometimes it's just some limited skin which has no effect other than to make their characters look cooler.

This just sounds for another type of game that supports a form of microtransactions? I take it the underlying game is more turn based, like you might find with hearthstone, but with more advanced graphics and animations involved. Not sure I'd call this a separate genre, because it is a monetization type utilized across many platforms and different types of games - from racing to fighting. I guess the real distinction would be you're not buying a specific item but gambling at what might be a tiny chance of winning a super rare prize. It's a bit sad that these companies are allowed to get away with it because it is probably one of the most nefarious types of gambling, especially when no in-game item trading is allowed.
1916  Economy / Economics / Re: US Digital Currency a ‘Unanimous Need’ to Compete With China: House Committee on: September 23, 2022, 06:18:01 PM
All invited speakers agreed that the United States must launch a digital currency to remain globally competitive.

Five speakers at a hearing for the U.S. House Committee on Financial Services voted in favor of the U.S. developing some kind of national stablecoin or CBDC on Tuesday, citing competition from China’s progress on its digital currency.
CBDC is an acronym for Central Bank Digital Currency, which is a digital version of a country’s fiat currency. CBDCs typically exist on blockchain networks but are centralized and regulated by the issuing country.

The U.S. House Subcommittee on National Security, International Development and Monetary Policy hosted the hearing today, titled “Under the Radar: Alternative Payment Systems and the National Security Impacts of Their Growth.”

Guam House Representative Michael San Nicolas called for an “on-the-record” vote among the panel of witnesses in an effort to gauge the level of necessity for the U.S. government to establish some kind of digital currency like a CBDC.
All five speakers agreed that there was a “unanimous need.”

Wilson Center Fellow Scott Dueweke, Center for a New American Security Research Assistant Emily Jin, and Atlantic Counsel Nonresident Senior Fellow Dr. Carla Norrlof were three witnesses on the panel focused on technology and economic security.

TRM Labs Head of Legal and Government Affairs Ari Redbord and Chainalysis Co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer Jonathan Levin were also on the witness panel.

You have to wonder if blockchain technology can cope efficiently with the vast amount of transactions that are required if it was ultimately to take over from paper based currency. Whatever solution is determined in the end needs to be more efficient than current payment networks like Visa or Paypal, otherwise what is the point when it could just be outsourced to a third party? The transparency of the blockchain is the major bonus to take away from all this and should be used to champion any possible disadvantages - the fact that you have a collection of all transactions means that no counterfeits can creep into the system and it's also decentralized so it won't suffer from single points of failure.
1917  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Chinese version of Metaverse will be great for meta casinos. on: September 23, 2022, 06:12:41 PM

just saw this video published today by Cyrus Janssen.  although he isn't providing link to what he is actually talking about. I did some googling which i found these:

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2022-03-29/alibaba-makes-metaverse-bet-in-china-s-magic-leap-rival
https://www.alibabacloud.com/solutions/metaverse

i didn't know how AR differs to VR. Alibaba will be creating the worlds shopping center where you can use the headset and just literally going to experience this metaverse.

In the future i think its not so far fetch after all to play and travel around the world while at home. the way its been described by Cyrus will actually work best for metaverse casinos than what Zuckerberg have in mind.  i think this is where we can chat on the poker table and make bluffs.

These "virtual worlds" have been created in numerous iterations over the years, although technology has slowly allowed their actual functionality to improve the reality is that you're still playing a game and buying into something that could disappear tomorrow. It's ironic considering how often the Chinese government periodically cracks down on things like so-called internet addiction and shows that their society is still very erratic in how it can cope with these things. While they may use it as a method to master artificial intelligence and other advanced software, Facebook actually have a lot more know-how to produce these virtual worlds based on their acquisitions over time.
1918  Economy / Economics / Re: Unemplyment at least 50% how world will look like then ? on: September 22, 2022, 08:37:44 PM
Unemployment at least 50% in usa at least so how THE wprld world will look like ?
Definately all prices will 80-90%down

Where do you base this random and frankly absurd figure of prices falling by 80-90%? It seems like you have a weak grasp of the economics involved for prices to fall that far. Frankly I never see unemployment falling that far unless society has radically changed and working becomes an optional pursuit. There are many theories out there like universal income which at a certain point could become a possibility, if billionaires were willing or forced to relinquish their grip at the very top. In theory a lot of the tasks we do could be automated eventually and that will free people up to do more creative tasks, as long as people get the basics like housing and food sorted then it could work.

As a long time Stake user this makes me feel concerned, I'll be withdrawing all of my funds and going elsewhere!

Interesting to see that Twitch are going to be actively banning mention of these crypto casinos in future, so it looks like streaming services are starting to see danger in associating or allow advertisement of these highly risky gambling sites. It's actually surprising that there has not been more aggressive prosecution of them advertising on sites that are heavily visited by younger children. As always, it seems like the regulators are quite far behind in dealing with the problem effectively but this does not bode well for a positive outcome for Stake.com. It is shocking to see such a high number thrown around but they could probably pay for it with a long term profit share instead of having to sell up, we see the massive amounts they can spare on advertising already.
1920  Other / Politics & Society / Re: High inflation is causing GLOBAL protests on: September 22, 2022, 07:06:29 PM
All around the different regions/parts of the world, they have the same issue that's causing mass protests. It's HIGH INFLATION, HIGH FUEL PRICES, HIGH FOOD PRICES, HIGH COSTS OF LIVING, AND LOW MINIMUM WAGE.

That's what happens if a non-elected cabal is made to have control over the money supply. Look at this list. Start researching about your country's central bank policies, read the news, and know if your country is about to have, or is currently having high inflation. Because your country could be next for a mass protest.

Inflation is a contributory factor and may even drive protests in some of the countries you listed, but there are all sorts of problems facing the world today. They can be related but it's better to look at them individually in order to tame the underlying problems - things like the war in Ukraine, which produces a massive chunk of things like wheat and much more importantly - oil & gas into Europe, which means there is less to go around. China is constantly shutting down and re-opening production in their factories due to zero Covid, again limiting all sorts of supply chains. Droughts and floods are disrupting the crop planting season. Unfortunately for poorer countries, the richer countries are often able to absorb the problems much easier.
