2361  Economy / Economics / Re: US National Debt / Deficit - How does it end? on: August 31, 2014, 12:14:37 PM
The common misconception is to think that credit is somehow limited to certain amounts.
The reality is that it's only constrained by the borrower's creditworthiness. So if there's a creditworthy company willing to borrow $1 dollar, it will be able to do it, no matter how large is the government debt.

While credit might not be limited to certain amounts, the price of credit is impacted.
So large government debt results in the price of debt to the private sector increasing.
This is called 'crowding-out' effect in economics.
2362  Economy / Economics / Re: Is 1 bitcoin a decent and good investment? on: August 31, 2014, 12:09:26 PM
Some time in the future, we may all end up envying the OP's uncle!!
2363  Economy / Economics / Re: The markets are rigged, central banks use printed money to buy stocks on: August 31, 2014, 12:06:42 PM
Looks like a good reason to go long on S&P then  Grin

Not really. The USD you earn on them won't be worth much.  Tongue
2364  Economy / Economics / Re: Dollar coming to an end on: August 31, 2014, 12:03:45 PM
The dollar is in a slow decline that I doubt will be stopped because nobody seems to care enough to do what has to be dont to stop it. America is going downhill for sure.

The rest of the world (who have large reserve holdings, in their reserves) seem to be more concerned about the USD, than America itself.  Grin
2365  Economy / Economics / Re: My strategy for when Bitcoin price is going down on: August 31, 2014, 12:02:19 PM
I will not sell my bitcoin, I will wait until prices return to normal bitcoin, maybe a week, a month or a year, but its regular price of bitcoin will be back to normal within a week, hopefully bitcoin prices will not go down in the next few months ...  Roll Eyes

What do you think 'normal' bitcoin prices are?
2366  Economy / Speculation / Re: I had a bad dream, worried it is a prophecy.... on: August 31, 2014, 11:06:58 AM
I had a dream that I was in the future and I was junking my old hardware from the "Bitcoin days", everything was obviously worthless, except what was also worthless was I was junking my wallets with my private keys and all my Bitcoins! In my dream I was trashing them because they were hopeless worthless.... nothing different than say keeping a copy of Doom running on my Windows 8 machine, stupid nostalgia and time to move on.

A friend of mine was laughing at me that I actually believed silly alpha numeric codes had any value. It was terrible!

Something obviously happened but i woke up before I could find out. Still sick to my stomach.

Windows 8 machine eh.... Just wait till the next version of Windows comes out and Windows-8 is trashed. You can then be reassured that your dream has not turned out into a prophecy.  Grin
2367  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Needs users and not hoarders on: August 31, 2014, 11:00:09 AM
We need all kinds of people in the bitcoin ecosystem - hoarders, spenders, day traders, even people like falllin,  Smiley
2368  Economy / Speculation / Re: Sub $500 soon, fake recover shall not pass $520! on: August 31, 2014, 10:53:30 AM
Cheap coins!  Time to back this truck UP!  Man I love the smell of  BUY in the morning!  Cool

We seem to be getting a lot of opportunities in the last couple of weeks.  Grin
2369  Economy / Speculation / Re: $10,000 when? on: August 31, 2014, 10:45:53 AM
Okay here's the deal
2020=10K
2030=100K
2050=1M
 Cool

2050 is too long to wait....  Smiley
2370  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: uBTC and mBTC on: August 31, 2014, 10:39:38 AM
Standard metric denominations
1 mBTC (10^-3) and 1uBTC (10^-6)
You can even coin your own denominations, like KBTC (10^3). Smiley
2371  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Thoughts about Bitcoin as a small country currency on: August 31, 2014, 10:33:10 AM
I guess we have to wait till the volatility of bitcoin subsides. Then, who knows, it might automatically replace the currency of a small nation.
2372  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Satoshi Nakamoto - The Creator of BTC on: August 31, 2014, 10:26:16 AM
Hey , please don't mind my stupid questions , but let's make it as Discussion thread
I know that the creator of the cryptoo currency BTC is Satochi Nakamoto , but is it true that he is Japonaise ? and anyone here knows him ? I mean the staff .
Iam not sure but I heard he was the creator of this forum also , so ...  Roll Eyes

All we know is that Master Satoshi is alive.  He walks among us; he laughs with us!   Cool

Satoshi will be immortalized through bitcoin.  Smiley
2373  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin anonymous? on: August 31, 2014, 10:19:03 AM
Bitcoin is not anonymous by default, but there are definitely ways to be more anonymous with it. I wouldn't say that it can't be anonymous. There are trustless mixers already, and there are lots of people working on other (trustless, and non-trustless) solutions to anonymity

I wish all these solutions would be implemented by default.  Smiley
2374  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: how do i invest in bitcoins? on: August 31, 2014, 10:10:55 AM
Just buy bitcoins  Wink, or try cloudmining (PB mining)

Buying them is always probably the easist way and holding them could give you rewards. I wouldn't bother with cloudmining. A lot of scams out there.

Is buying them through coinbase efficient?
2375  Economy / Economics / Re: how many bitcoins do you have currently. on: August 20, 2014, 02:43:44 PM
Zero.
Will wait and see if there is a real crash.
2376  Other / Off-topic / Re: Post your Total time logged into Bitcointalk on: August 09, 2014, 03:22:41 AM
Total time logged in: 11 hours and 1 minutes
 Grin
I think you should just try to stay on for another hour so you can get an even 1/2 day. Smiley

I would say 59 minutes.  Wink
2377  Other / Off-topic / Re: Post your Total time logged into Bitcointalk on: July 26, 2014, 01:25:40 AM
Newbie - 58 minutes
2378  Other / Off-topic / Re: FIFA World Cup 2014!!! on: July 13, 2014, 07:03:06 AM

In my view they should just change the rules so that the world cup winner gets to host the next world cup.

Hosting the world cup is the only way some nations are going to get to play in the world cup.  Grin (Since the hosts automatically are guaranteed a spot).
2379  Other / Off-topic / Re: What Browser You Use on: June 25, 2014, 01:39:16 AM
Have stuck with firefox for years now. Smiley
2380  Other / Off-topic / Re: What do you think? on: June 17, 2014, 01:33:37 AM
At some point, the contractor would have to convert to fiat to take care of his expenses.

Waterpark Renovation Paid For With Bitcoin? Huh
Someone asked me if a waterpark renovation could be paid for with Bitcoin.
I honestly couldn't say yes or no.

What do you think?  Do you think it can be done?
Why or why not?
