BFL uses it to advertize it's latest wares... must be great right?

Haha yes, Great for BFL! What better way to cast a net over a shoal of duffers.

When in shoals the fish in the middle are idling, oblivious to risk, assuming those on the shoal periphery have them covered.

So most facemuk users will assume that BFL must be a great company, after all BFL must have very high business standards if they are allowed to advertise on facemuk right!
382  Other / Off-topic / Re: What would you do if you received 20 bitcoins? on: August 24, 2014, 03:41:59 PM
Put it in a cold wallet.

Activate a "google alert" for TX details, just in case some poor SOB was desperately trying to get it back, then I would get alert in my email that somebody somewhere was chattering about the TX and investigate the matter.

It would not be wise to publish that you had been mistakenly sent it, you would become a scammer magnet and then have to trawl through a never ending stream of bullshit.
383  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you believe that the CIA/FBI/NSA were behind the scenes created by Bitcoin??? on: August 24, 2014, 01:29:12 AM
...CIA ain't smart enough...

You don't need to be smart when you have deep pockets, you just pay a smart person to do it.

Gov employs some smart people, make no mistake.

The puppet show of talking heads (politicians) is not where the real work is happening.
384  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you believe that the CIA/FBI/NSA were behind the scenes created by Bitcoin??? on: August 24, 2014, 12:52:22 AM
This specific thread really does not have any meaningful discussion about the possibility of the US government creating BTC...

Says who? you Roll Eyes

I made a post that might start discussion on the subject...

It's difficult to start discussion when the thread only contains comedians and policemen.
385  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gold collapsing. Bitcoin UP. on: August 23, 2014, 03:51:26 AM
If bitcoin succeeds, does it necessarily mean that the Mises' Regression Theory is false?

Hi,

I think Mises' theory is no longer complete.

Mise wrote the theory in 1912 and he died in 1973.

But in his defense: I don't think he could have possibly imagined an unforgeable virtual token that has controlled and finite issuance.

Just imagine being told to engineer a solution for that in 1973, let alone 1912.

IMHO: Bitcoin is closer in most dimensions to gold than fiat, as we all know fiat is just fancily printed paper, the issuance of which takes a chaotic and inevitably corrupt path.

Quote from: Mise
"Paper money, especially that with no commodity backing, is only adopted when governments force it upon people."

Were Mise still alive then I think he would hold some Bitcoins for sure, alongside his gold of course.

Screw that, I'm planning on making a pot noodle in a couple of hours!
389  Other / Politics & Society / Re: World War III on: August 21, 2014, 11:15:56 PM
My fellow human beings, all they want is war war war, and at the end all they say game well played and shake hands. Maybe you should all learn love. War = religion, money, power and suffering. Love = give your enemy a big hug and smile.

Try it!

I agree with your sentiment, I really do!

But alas peoples trust levels are low, and the trend is worsening, most are afraid that if they embrace in a hug then they may get robbed, mugged, contract ebola etc.

Not only that, but a utopian ideal is very fragile, it only takes one bad apple to spoil the whole barrel.

A true utopian society in my opinion could only be formed with the aid of technology: A POB (proof of body) P2P system, akin to the borg only without any heirachy. Secrets between nodes would not be possible and so only truth could flow. We would need to be cyborg of course (neural implant). Roll on the singularity when we might become cells of a much greater being.

(unless you think it perfectly lawful to issue IOU certificates for shit you don't own)

Now you have to explain those masses whats IOU. Most of them know them as bills or dollars.
Even cars when registering with goverment institution become theirs not yours.
In UK V5 which is registration document states clearly that is document is not proof of ownership.
How this possible? you paid for car! Once registered car belongs to DVLA, that's why they can tow it away, they can punish you with fines etc.

OK, I will explain for other readers:

IOU, means "I owe you".

Issuing fiat money is equivalent to:

[1] I buy a chocolate bar.
[2] I sell you a gift voucher (IOU) for 1 chocalate bar.
[3] I might eat the chocolate.
[4] You try to cash in your IOU.
[5] I might say... "burp"

Cars... oh lordy... they are heavy, fast and dangerous objects, please be careful.

I will only say search "de register vehicle UK".

I suspect someone is behind it. That's why.  Cool

Nailed it!
394  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why is there so many conspiracy junkies here? on: August 21, 2014, 05:46:34 PM
People have been programmed to react negatively to the word "conspiracy", the television "programming" works very well, fear of being ostracised for having a minority opinion etc.

But lets calmy look at the word:

Quote
Conspiracy: a secret plan by a group to do something unlawful or harmful.

There... it's not too kooky is it!

With this in mind:

Fact:
Every war that has ever happened has involved conspiracy.

Fact:
Every fiat currency created throughout history is unlawful, and it was in the minds of those who created it, they weren't stupid, but now they are very rich. (unless you think it perfectly lawful to issue IOU certificates for shit you don't own)

And when we examine the dictionary definition, it contains the word "harmful". Now that's a very subjective word, I think you will agree. Economic sanctions against nations are acts of conspiracy, attempting to "harm" that nations economy. That's out in the open, lots of shit happening that's not disclosed. Sanctions have to be disclosed because they are so apparent.

Conspiracy is everywhere (oh and Santa Claus is a fictional character, just in case you haven't worked that one out yet).

Taxation is fair exchange??

I think it is more like tribute.

What you are receiving "in exchange" is protection from a racket.

I agree with you, some taxes are tantamount to an extortion racket.

Why is that fair "sometimes"?

Some taxation I view as fair exchange, for example I am happy to contribute to the refuse collection system and maintenance of public grounds in the town I live, the firemen, police and ambulance services etc, the local council tax I pay toward that I view as fair.

So taxes (tribute) are your reality.

Maybe yours?

Your buddy BADecker just showed you how you can avoid the taxman, live free, and think for yourself.

He was banging on about god, not taxes.

Sure, education takes time and effort... But Isn't that more important than arguing over whose god deserves more tribute?

I'm agnostic, google it.

Isn't it even more important than trolling?

Mehhh.

So taxes (tribute) and imprisonment (body-mastery) are your reality.

My reality is my wife and three kids.

Maybe the taxman is your god?
More food for thought on this subject:

Of course fiat money is a pyramid scam, and commercial law is a bondage placed upon your commercial identity, you only just working that out?

I spent a few years living as a freeman under english common law (hardcore), you do not need to pay taxes that you do not deem fair exchange. But I think some taxes are fair exchange.

I still stand under all common law, but do fuck around with some statutes, while my children are young.

You can only be tried under commercial (statute) law with your consent.

This does not mean anything goes, au contrair, as a freeman you must be very responsible and considerate of others, much more so than living as a commercial pleb.

Just throw off your chains and turn agnostic, then I'll stop trollin you! Cheesy
You are talking about invisible chains, but what about the real ones?

What about the taxman?

If you do not settle matters quickly with him, your adversary may hand you over to the judge, and the judge may hand you over to the officer, and you may be thrown into prison.

And if that happens, you surely won't be free again until you have paid the last penny.

I agree, taxation is a very real thing! Unlike god/nogod which can never be answered.

I think some tax is OK, like payment for upkeep of local systems and services.

But a big slice of the pie goes to military budget allocation... seems like the fucking dark ages!

No tax... We are all free to stop suckling on the systems man nipple and run like a deer into the deep woods... ayeeeeaaa....

Of course if you ran in with a group of "like minded" people then after a few generations it would all start up again, some fat bastard doing less work and "charming" everyone for an easy ride, same old same old. And after several more generations a small village fence might seperate one group from another etc.

The only general solution would be a globally distributed P2P borg like society where no single mind can hold a secret, all minds connected and morals/laws decided by majority voting, all nodes equal (proof of body) but that's a whole other thread i guess.

Sorry for being unclear. The point that I was trying to make is that ALL dating beyond 4,500 years ago, or so, is base on "if" one way or another. "If" isn't fact. "If" is guesswork.

Yes, and the bible is a record of facts only if you believe it.

Just throw off your chains and turn agnostic, then I'll stop trollin you! Cheesy
