Graet is currently running a ~100BTC escrow for a pair of my rigs. Contact him if you're interested.

yeah getting hit in the ear does not feel good at all!!! Even in the legs and back it still stings, but the ears hurt!!!!

Does your face mask not cover your ears? Mine covers my ears and the upper part of my throat. The worst thing, once those are covered up, are getting hit in the hand due to typically the only thing visible behind a bunker are your marker, face and hands.

Can you take 18 coin flat for it?  I'd prefer to send half now and half once received.

18 BTC would be acceptable. I either require all coin up front or escrow. I refuse to give someone a card with a 50% discount if they decide to run off after receiving the card. No offense but I trust that I'll ship but I don't trust that you'll pay in full at the end.

Also let's drop the price of the 6870x2 to $220 shipped to the CONUS.

Is the 6870 x2 still available?  What can of mhs can you expect from this card?

Still available. I was hitting around 600 MH/s I believe when I tested it. I ran it for about a week ~6 months ago when I was debating on going with 5970s or 6870x2s. Went with watercooled 5970s for voltage control in Linux. The 6870x2 has been my gaming card for the last 6 months until I swapped in a pair of GTX 580s.

Ok but i play paintball and everyone i know refers to them as paintball guns. I never hear them referred to as markers. Perhaps because i am in the UK and you are in the USA (?) where you need to clarify the difference with a firearm.

I played competitively for 2 years in Georgia and I concur. Casual players/renters called them guns. Serious players called them markers. I also own several guns and my markers are not guns. Firearm handling safety rules apply to markers but markers are not guns. Perhaps the scarcity of firearms in the UK hasn't necessitated differentiating markers from firearms. Parents are more open to paintball when guns aren't mentioned. Funny how words work.

Down in the SE of US. WE play all year long, well except during hunting season, unless we can get out to a farmers house who likes to play also. Summers are BRUTAL here, but winter time is great! 100 degrees in the swamp during summer, ACK, but it is fun!. Been calling these markers since early 90's.

Fond memories of playing around Atlanta in the summer and drinking gallons of water to keep from dying of the heat. I sure don't miss the humidity.

Late 90's is over a decade in my book.    Yeah it is the "PC" term for sure.   It sure doesn't feel like a "mark" when you get hit by one Smiley
A lot of old-schoolers *HATE* the term "marker" because it has undertones that say "Hey, this isn't really a gun.  So therefor you don't need to practice proper gun safety when handling one.  Because it's NOT a gun!  It's more like a toy!  It's a MARKER, not a gun!"

Not sure how old an old-schooler is. I played 1999-2005 with competitive play the last 2 years. I've always called them markers but I've also always stressed firearm handling safety rules be applied to markers. I think the difference is whether you play on a structured field or out in the woods with your buddies.

To be completely honest I just want to make sure this whole process with the first batch goes smoothly. I don't want to be sitting here in December and trying to explain to people that they aren't getting their order on time because I oversold them, yes I have stated we have enough hardware in process to support 1000 devices, but that leaves no margin for error - I (and I would think my customers as well) would feel much safer knowing there is some extra cushion so to speak to ensure that everyone who is expecting a device in the first batch get's one. Also now that we have achieved our pre-order goal I really need to change my focus from selling to managing. There are some very complicated logistics involved here, and it is very important to me that I stay on top of everything and get these units delivered on time.

If people feel like there should be some time to digest the additional specs before I stop taking pre-orders than that is fine. I will stop taking pre-orders at midnight EST 10/22/12 - or when we hit about 900 units ordered, whatever comes first. Does this seem fair to everyone?

Thank you for this. I have been waiting for you to release details before placing my order. If you were to release details after pre-orders had ended then I wouldn't be placing an order. I'm power/girlfriend constrained on my apartment after shutting down my remote farm. It helps to know ballpark power figures to see how many I can sustain without exceeding the tolerances that my girlfriend will handle  Cheesy

It is Friday. I didn't bother to read any of the posts that weren't Tom's but I gather the big announcement with power consumption estimates, process specifications and board renders didn't happen? Had a reminder set on my calendar but I wasn't sure if that date had changed? Gave up trawling this thread for information due to all the trolling by BFL.

I've come to an agreement with Gomeler as follows:

Seller to ship the following:

Rig 1
3x Sapphire HD 5850s
2x Sapphire HD 5830
AMD Sempron 145
MSI 890FX GD70
1x2GB DDR3-1333C9
SILVERSTONE ST1000 1000W ATX12V
250GB 2.5" HDD
2 PCIe extenders

Rig 2
5x Sapphire HD 5830s
AMD Sempron 145
MSI 890FX GD70
1x2GB DDR3-1333C9
250GB 2.5" HDD
2 PCIe extenders

Extras
5 pieces x16->x16 PCIe riser cables

Buyer offers $1140
BTC conversion rate will be Mt.Gox last at time of transfer to escrow agent.
Seller is responsible for all shipping costs.
Deal to be escrowed via Graet (ozcoin pool operator) as escrow agent.
Rigs will be tested by buyer when received to ensure that rigs are able to mine at standard engine clock rates.
Escrow agent to release funds to seller "Gomeler" upon buyer satisfied with condition of rigs, not to exceed 10 hours after receipt by buyer.

I'll transfer funds to escrow as soon as Gomeler and Graet witnesses and Graet sends me an escrow addy.

Thanks.

Looks fine to me. I'll drive out tonight and pick up the rigs, package them tomorrow and ship on Friday.

This is just pathetic having a BFL shill try to stir up shit in this thread. I don't care if Inaba has a bASIC on pre-order, he posts still reek of trolling. I had considered splitting up my order between the two companies to protect myself from late delivery but I think instead I'll go bASIC and bitcoins.

Why did BFL hire Inaba? If they needed someone to spread FUD wouldn't it have been cheaper to just throw a few bitcoins at forum trolls to get the job done?

5 cards shipped to segabtc. HD 6870x2 is still available. I'll have more HD 5830s, HD 5850s and HD 5870s along with boards/PSUs available this upcoming weekend.

Witnessed... Might be interested in the 6870x2

*chop*

Much appreciated. Send me a PM on the 6870x2 if you make a decision on it.

5 cards sold to segabtc. Have some interest in 2 other cards. Going to just tear down 2 rigs tonight and I'll update the OP with what cards remain after I ship tomorrow morning.

Confirmed. Driving out to my farm tonight to pull the working cards and shipping Wednesday morning.
354  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTB:Broken Graphics cards... or working on: October 07, 2012, 05:46:27 AM
Clearing the shelves off as I tear down my GPU farm. I've got a 5970 on which the fans spin up and it warms up a bit but it doesn't do anything. Interested in it before I chuck it on eBay? I'll take BTC or USD.
355  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTS: 3x Sapphire HD 5830 1x HD 6870x2 [USA] on: October 07, 2012, 05:37:42 AM
Interested in 1, but the price is hard to justify right now.

I'll keep releasing some as I tear down machines and check the cards. So if this first batch goes quick have no fear.

Only looking for $ on these?

Yup. Contemplating buying some ASICs. The only toy I'm interested would be an Armalite AR-30 chambered in .300 win mag if you have one of those sitting around  Grin

how many 5830 you have? looking for bulk 5 or more.

I believe I have 14 HD 5830s. I'd honestly have to go count the rigs at my remote location or dig through my documentation. PM me how many you are interested in and we can work a deal.
356  Economy / Computer hardware / WTS: 3x Sapphire HD 5830 1x HD 6870x2 [USA] on: October 06, 2012, 10:05:28 PM
Tore down the rig these were in a few months ago as I replaced them with 5970s. They're a little dusty but fully functional.

Looking for $80 USD shipped per card within the continental USA. There'll be an additional $5 charge if you want the box. If you want the cards shipped elsewhere besides CONUS then PM me and we can work something out.

Note: I have the bracket for the left card. I removed it in an experiment to see if it would help decrease core temps at lower fan speeds. Turns out it doesn't really matter with regards to temperatures.

Turns out the 6870x2 is a long ass card and doesn't fit in my new case(Antec 300). Swapped in a GTX 580 instead and now this card has to go. I believe I still have the retail box. Didn't mine of this card as it was located in my living room gaming PC.

Looking for $240 USD shipped within the CONUS. If you want the retail box(and if I have it) there'll be an additional $5 charge. If you want the cards shipped elsewhere besides CONUS then PM me and we can work something out.

I'll have more 5830s and 5970s available soon. If you buy multiple cards I'm open to providing 'bulk' discounts. That doesn't mean lowball though. I have zero qualms stuffing these on eBay just to spite lowballers  Cheesy
357  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Mining in the refrigerator? on: October 01, 2012, 02:26:15 AM
My best idea would be to have a water cooled rig and have the reservoir in the fridge/freezer (obviously use anti-freeze if using a freezer). This would dramatically drop temps without killing the fridge/freezer. This would eliminate most of the condensation problems.

sounds like a great idea

Not a great idea. The condensers on refrigerators are typically designed to reject the heat from a compressor that is working to cool food from room temperature to ~35-40F. Food does not continuously radiate heat like your reservoir would and would increase the duty cycle of the refrigerator. This will once again gradually overheat the system and destroy the compressor.

This is all not an issue if you are using a refrigerator like a walk-in refrigerator that is designed to handle large changes in load and/or run continuously.
358  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Mining in the refrigerator? on: September 30, 2012, 12:16:05 PM
I think even a modest mining rig with a power of 500W would kill the compressor in the freezer pretty quick. The freezer would need to have the compressor running continiously, and they aren't made for that. It'd probably overheat and die in a week or so.

The compressors used in refrigerators will run perfectly fine at 100% duty cycle. However, the condenser, where all the reject heat is dumped, is sometimes embedded in the insulation layer around the refrigerator and is only capable of absorbing so much heat during a cycle. The fridge then radiates the heat away during the off cycle. Replace the condenser with a forced air finned variety and 100% uptime on the fridge is possible.

I don't have the money to invest however I do live in Colorado and would be interested in checking out the operation as you guys scale out. Never hurts to have unaffiliated eyes to confirm something is what it says it is.
