41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Melonport [MLN] Blockchain Software for Asset Management on: January 11, 2018, 06:24:09 PM
I'm wondering the market's reaction after platform goes live. BTW December newsletter:
http://mailchi.mp/melonport/melonport-december-newsletter

As soon as the date is set, I know I'll be spreading the word as much as possible.

AFAIK it is late February no certain date announced yet. I don't want to give wrong information though.

This is correct. I meant as soon as that date is announced, I'll be doing my best to spread the word.

is that a main/official Melon thread on Bitcointalk?

No, I guess as I have not seen anyone from the team posting any updates from the team and neither this thread is updated like other projects.Better check their site for official information.

We have the same concern, I also want to ask if where should I find the other information because I can't see it that they updated the site. Thanks for the help.

They seem to post all updates here:

https://medium.com/melonport-blog

The protocol is still scheduled to launch next month, February.

Melonport 1 year ahead of schedule, now releasing Feb 2018 instead of 2019:

Wow exciting! I guess that means second token sale will be hot with the cool partnerships around maybe Cheesy

The 2nd ICO is cancelled. They will be distributing those coins through fund management competitions instead to kick start interest.

Thank you, I missed that somehow  Embarrassed
Can you give some details or sources. I'll make some research though.

The fervor of this community reminds me a lot of Bitshares. I'm sure that this project will end up the same - a scam or just plain failed. I'm sure some of you will make some money before that day though.

Buybacks are a bad move compared to dividends..

Please, go sell your coins, my buy orders are waiting for your fill.

Already did, plenty of other blockchains to look into, and definitely ones more transparent and less scammy feeling than this!

Buybacks are a bad move compared to dividends..

Why on earth would you think so?

NuShares did something similar and it ended up being a disaster (just in case you guys think this is the first time a crypto has done buybacks, it's NOT).  It centralizes all the value inside of ICN. When you were getting dividends in Ethererum, your value was gained outside of the ICN network - which is good. Now if something goes wrong with ICN all value is going to be gone.

I guess you can just slowly sell your ICN as the price rises to avoid the risk..

Why is everyone in here calling everyone else a faggot?

Hi Everyone, I am sure this has been asked a thousand times. I am holding some ICN, got in rather late and above the price it is now. I am wondering if someone can give me some information on ICNX and how I obtain ICNX as well. Do I have to wait for the platform release now?

Yes, you will have to wait for the platform release which should be quite soon. It is currently being beta tested with more testers being added until the public release.

Do you have any evidence of this? Since when do developers decide what exchanges trade what anyway, especially in crypto-space?
54  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ICONOMI - Digital Assets Management Platform on: March 14, 2017, 11:34:54 PM
I have heard it is not listed on Poloniex because it is considered a security which means Poloniex as a US company must register with the SEC.

In other words Polo cannot legally list ICN. Is this true?

ICN must be in your own wallet (not on an exchange like Kraken) in order to recieve dividends correct?
56  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANN] B&C Exchange - A decentralized exchange paying BTC dividends on: March 09, 2016, 10:51:59 PM
So B&C 4.0 will allow reputed signer voting and which currencies will be traded on the exchange.

I believe this was touched on deep within this thread, but can someone describe the process of being a signer? Briefly walk us through the set up and day in life of a signer.

I ask because I'd really like to become one.
57  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANN] B&C Exchange - A decentralized exchange paying BTC dividends on: February 24, 2016, 02:46:50 AM
So, B&C needs two full time developers to get things really moving. Is this to say that without them, progress is currently at an effective halt?
58  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANN] B&C Exchange - A decentralized exchange paying BTC dividends on: January 07, 2016, 07:19:47 PM
Version 4.0 is almost ready. It took more time than expected because asset voting has important consequences on the design of the trading protocol that will be implemented in the next release. We had to adjust the design a few times. But it has been finalized and we just need a last review of the pull request before we can finalize 4.0.

This release will enable reputation and asset voting. So shareholders will be able to start deciding which assets will be initially tradable and who will be the first reputed signers.

While asset voting was finalized we also started writing detailed specs of the trading protocol that will be implemented in version 5.0.

Been radio silence for  awhile now..

When launch time comes, which cryptocoins will be available for trading?

My personal "hint" for the first 7 candidates: Bitcoin (obviously); BlockShares (obviously); Litecoin (the second mkt cap and liquidity); Nubits (Nu echosystem); Nushares (Nu echosystem); Peercoin (żNu system's dividends?); Dash (or Monero, whichever has higher mkt cap and liquidity - for anonimity concerns).

According to the last update, 4.0 will allow shareholders to decide which assets will be initIally tradable.

How does staking work with BKS? I've had BKS in my wallet since 20 July but my stake amount is always zero (balance is correct though).
What is the stake % rate per year?
Do you need to keep the wallet unlocked to stake?
When i check coin control it shows "0" for coin days, and every block is exactly "1", what's going on here?

You need to keep your client open and unlocked for minting. You can find the unlock button under 'Settings'.
