BTC-E is like walking into a bar that has a gambling ring in the back run by the Russian mafia. I mean you're probably gonna be okay.. but it's a kinda shady place.

I would not trust Vlad. My opinion on his motives have cycled through various different possibilities, from pure trollage to nonsense to trickery in his favor. Just what exactly do you want Vlad?
I want fucking profits, troll. Profits. My $8,000 ixCoin investment is now worth $44,000 (and I'm not selling even 1 coin), and so is everyone's who took my advice. How you doin', mental midget? So you're telling everyone this for your personal profits then? I'm doing great! My investment has been better than yours, I saw a 14x increase. And how hard did you try (while being called a pumper) and how many coins did you give away to try and bring as many people up with you? Just answer the question. You're just a benevolent guy who wants everyone here to succeed. Is that right?

You cannot doubt all alts are rising at staggering rates, what is the reason for this? Pretty much all the cryptos are going up because they can all do the basic function Bitcoin can do. The technology is just becoming more valuable atm. I'm not saying anything Vlad just said is a lie but anyone could have figured this out, I just don't trust the guys motives. Of course he mentions Ixcoin a few times. Nothing wrong with that but.. Yeah, anybody could have figured this stuff out but nobody did. Armchair quarter backs are everywhere. And of course I mentioned ixCoin, this is my thread, i put all my BTC (65 of them) in ixCoin, and I believe ixCoin will be the biggest coin by next year, so why wouldn't I mention it? No I mean I did figure this out. Tons of people did. All you really did was mention the rise of the alt coins. Yeah.. it's probably gonna continue. So you're just a benevolent guy who wants everyone here to make as much money as possible? isnt the idea of crypto currency to break free from the control of fiat? how can we do that if we are all greedy and dont want to spread the wealth?, i for one would like to see everyone prosper, i believe in equality I'm not saying that there would anything wrong with it if it were true.. I just don't think it is.

Am I the only one that thinks this is complete bs so OP can stack up on PPC and dump on everyone when "sunday morning nyt" article gets published? If you look at the price of PPC it is rising substantially now.. I would be wary to buy in expecting such great news
Nah nothing like that is going on. It's very much happening.

one of these threads!
The title of this thread should be. "Marketing my bag of PPC with a bogus demand"
The decision to buy anything is yours in a free market. If you are letting others convince you to buy then you deserve to lose any money you may invest.
The biggest reason not to buy has already been stated.. there are absolutely no merchants for it. Especially not enough to warrant its market cap. On top of that its designed solely for early adopters. In this community that seems to be the way to get people interested though. The fairest coins get forgotten with the exception of BTC but even BTC is highly early adopter rewarding.
I have to say your arguments aren't really all that relevant. He isn't buying them for use right now, he's deciding on a crypto currency that might be used in the future.. or maybe not even used at all but that he could make money off of. Absolutely no one who isn't delved into cryptocurrencies already knows of Litecoin and it has a 250 million dollar cap, and it's probably made some millionaires.

BTCcoinbase.com campbx.com (opening straight bank transfers on Nov. 27th) bitstamp ( never personally used but it's mentioned a lot ) Those top two are the ones I use. OthersBTC-e.com King of exchanges that primarily deals in cryptos other than BTC ( though they have BTC). Has the largest volume by far, and the infamous 'trollbox' , a chat where where everything said is lies and deception. A coin other than BTC getting on BTC-E is a big deal for that coin. vircurex.com A decent exchange. Sluttier than BTC-E with more options. mcxnow.com Probably in-between the two listed up there. They pay interest on coins you hold in their exchange. New exchangeshttps://www.vaultofsatoshi.com/https://coinmkt.com/#/Babies, but perhaps up and coming, especially VoS. Your best bet is acquiring BTC from coinbase or campbx or what have you, and then transferring it to one of the alt exchanges for whichever coin you'd like. Again, join us at peercoin.net if you'd like. Pretty friendly community that's really starting to get going.

This question is both natural but silly at the same time. People are just going to tell you the coins they hold or are biased towards. You're best off just doing your own homework. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=134179.0 List of all coins. http://coinmarketcap.com/ How much money is currently in each coin. Most alt coins are not special, some of them do improve upon or add new features that BTC does not have. Top 5 coins: BTC - The King, the standard. Good choice for both short and medium term, but there are many talented people out there trying to take it out with a superior crypto-currency. LTC - 2nd place coin. A lot of people are invested in it. I think it's a good choice for short possibly medium term, but I'm not sure if it will last long term due to lack of anything really setting it apart other than it's time start advantage. PPC - 3rd place coin. Interesting natural inflation rate ( Moore's law ), original coin to add proof-of-stake, energy efficient, transaction fees are destroyed, ASIC friendly (unlike LTC). This is my biased coin Join us at peercoin.net Namecoin - I don't know how useful it's actual feature is, but since it's merge mined with BTC it might always follow BTC in a certain way. Last coin changes daily, there are many battling for number 5. Primecoin, and Worldcoin are notable, Feathercoin is just LTCx4 but it has a strong following that just doesn't want to quit. Safe bet? BTC, LTC, PPC, and 1 or 2 lesser known ones.

The price is oscillating, and these all time highs are not steady. The price will likely fall again, before it goes up. Wait till like $500 to buy.
thanks for the input, but im more looking for ways in which the protocol is broken. or the economic implications of it are not as desirable as one might expect. I've never heard of such a reason. PPC doesn't have a 30 million dollar market cap with a broken concept or implementation. Whether or not it will succeed is something that has to be tested down the line.

I have asked this question myself. The reality is...there will probably only be 3 or 4 real players... So BTC, LTC, WDC and X. That is my prediction. Buy 1000 of each shit-coin and keep them forever. If one is a bluckbuster, you will have yourself a small fortune. Otherwise, mine an sell to the other shmucks that want them.
Peercoin should be in your top 3. WDC is undecided for me, definitely not a 'for sure'. People that are The cheapest Alt-Coins are the best bet, you cant loose much if your wrong. But dont get greedy and put only small USD amount in
Speculation don't work that way. If something doubles in value you will double your investment no matter the original price. Bitcoin was considered expensive in 200 and that was only 3 weeks ago, but now worths 4 or 5 times more. Can you name a cheap alt coin with such a rise Where have you been since Monday? NMC went up 250% yesterday alone, FTC, NVC, XPM, WDC, all of them doubled in the last few days. In the span of weeks they have also x4'd. Peercoin is the only coin with a legitimate value proposition (different security model). All the other coins are either unfinished or extremely similar to bitcoin but just with weaker networks.
For now, peercoin and keep your eyes out for new opportunities (eg mastercoin if it suceeds in implementing some of its promised features).
<3 Long live Peercoin. Look out for NY Times article Monday!

I see it as this, as Bitcoin takes off, the idea of crypto-currencies in general takes off as well. I mean they all do the same thing. It wouldn't be the end of crypto if Bitcoin died. So as Bitcoin rises to new horizons, all altcoins get to appreciate in value to a certain extent
