501  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ethOS crashes as soon as I plug in a single gpu on: December 16, 2017, 06:19:19 AM
Just built a new rig (not first), but I’m having trouble with ethos. Normally ethos has been pretty straightforward but this time I’m having trouble getting it running.
Ethos runs fine without any gpu plugged in, then I will shut it down, plug in a single gpu, and reboot, it will start the miner but then it will instantly ramp up the fan really high and the monitor screen will shut down.
The monitor is plugged into the gpu and will not work with the dvi slot on the mb

Thanks for the help

Try another OS to see if the problem is with your hardware or software.  You can download SMOS, nvoc, sniffdog, and plenty more.  If the card works fine in those, then you know the problem is with ethOS.  If the new OS is also failing, you probably have a problem with your hardware, or a BIOS setting that is awry.  Let us know how you get along and then we can help you further.

Hi
Which miner more efficiently for electricity and hashrate

Why don't you try both and let us know?

I'm not trying to be rude here... but you could easily download both programs and find out.  What ever happened to experimentation?
504  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Help in using Computta on: December 16, 2017, 06:08:42 AM
Hi guys! Is there anyone here are using Computta mining? Do they accept any BTC wallet or only the Blockchain wallet? Thank you so much to anyone could share their comments very much appreciated. I am planning to try this mining have some problems in others windows mining...

I'm not sure that I would trust that mining program.  Just a feeling.

Any reason why you couldn't just download well-known mining software, point it to a pool and mine to your wallet?  It's not that hard.  There are plenty of guides, threads and videos to help you.

If this is just an advertisement, then good luck.
505  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: AM4 motherboard that supports more than 6 GPUs? on: December 16, 2017, 06:02:17 AM
yes but the thing is that i want to use 8 GPUs not 5 or 6
there are enough AM4 Mobos that support up to 6 GPUs
but are there mobos that support more than 6?
thats the question

Why do you need 8 cards on an AM4 motherboard?  Why not just buy another 6 slot motherboard to be ready for expansion?
506  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Awesome Miner Config for Claymore using SuperNova Pool? on: December 16, 2017, 05:56:03 AM
I replied on the AM thread... but just in case you don't see it for a while...

You need to put the worker name in the worker name field... not in the wallet field.  If your worker name is "puwaha"... put puwaha in that field.  Then in the managed miner settings click the button to append the rig name to the worker name.  So if your rig name is "rig1", then AM will put that together to make "puwaha.rig1".  Make sure you setup the worker name in suprnova as well.

I am trying really hard to get Awesome Miner to work on my Rig. Windows sees all 8GPUs and is happy! Claymore runs great by itself. When I add in Awesome Miner runs for a few minutes then crashes/stalls and when it restarts it never gets past (GPU #2 algorithm ASM, intensity 6) it just sits there stuck. I must have something input wrong in Awesome Miner I have tried a ton of stuff but NO Go! I am trying to Mine BTG On Supernova pool using Claymores Equihash to have Awesome Miner control the Rig. Any help is much Appreciated!!

Apologies if this is a beaten-to-death topic, but what mining OS do you guys recommend for nvidia GPUs? SMOS or nvOC?

Why not Windows?

What is going on???

The ETH in the smart contract is disappearing, whilst https://www.smartbillions.com/stats shows that it should be increasing.

Are people changing their SMART into ETH, or is something really bad happening right under our noses?

When I last posted about this there was 6000 ETH, now there is 5400 ETH.

Have you seen the ETH/USD exchange rate recently?  It was over $700 for a couple of days.  It's just people who want to reclaim their ETH and claim some profit now.

Yeah... it's the "man" trying to keep ZenCash down.  Tongue

Can I have some directions for setting Monacoin Lyra2RE2 on managed miner with miningpoolhub. Thanks.

1. Setup the pool first.  use hub.miningpoolhub.com:20593 as the URL.  Put in some login name for the worker name... make it something simple like "puwaha"... then put in puwaha.   Then just make your password x

2. Login to the monacoin pool at miningpoolhub.com and go to the workers option.  In the Add worker section, add the worker name... in my example above, it's puwaha... and then password of X.  Then on the right hand side, you need to add the rig name... maybe rig1

3. Now go back to AM and setup the managed miner... make sure the algo, coin, and pool are correct.  Tick the box to "Add to worker name", and make it match what you called your rig in step 2 above on the miningpoolhub.com web page.  This option will combine the worker name of "puwaha" with "rig1" to make the complete worker name of "puwaha.rig1" which is what miningpoolhub is expecting.

I like to pre-populate worker names at sites like Miningpoolhub or Suprnova so that there is no chance of getting rejected.  I know they are supposed to auto-add worker names, but I guess I'm OCD about that.  Smiley

514  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner]- Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 5000 miners on: December 15, 2017, 05:25:47 AM
Using a remote miner, AM says the interface is offline but the miner is running and the remote port is working.  Using Claymore CryptoNight.  It sometimes works but sometimes not.  I have another remote rig where it's working all the time.

You have setup an external miner?  Are you running linux?  If you are running windows then put the agent on the windows box and use a managed miner instead.  If it's linux, maybe increase the status update interval from the default of 5 seconds.  The CPU of the external miner may be taxed if you are running a cryptonight miner as many of those will mine with your CPU as well as your GPU.

Any help please.... Trying to add Lux (using Nvidia managed miner)

I was able to add algo phi per FAQ instructions, added phi under online services with Zpool, however I still do not get a $ / day calculation.

I have tried this with other non default coins and cannot get this right, can someone please tell me how to get these stats working?

I can manually enter difficulty and market price and this works, however it is not "live" I suppose this is what I am asking for.

Thanks   (BTW I have gone over the FAQ/Help sections many times)

I've not been super successful in doing custom coins either.  It works when I add the difficulty, block reward and market price.  But if I add the custom coin JSON then it seems to cancel it out... so I just update the data every now and then.  I would suggest you don't use custom coins in a pool group for profit mining, as you will not have up to date info for AM to make the proper decisions.
516  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner]- Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 5000 miners on: December 15, 2017, 05:17:40 AM
I am monitoring the zpool stats for a while and according 24hour actual results, equihash algo is at third row, followed by neoscrypt and decred is at around 10th row, at the time of writing.

On the other hand, awesome miner displays highest profit on decred (over 6USD/Kh/day) all day long, and chooses this one for mining.

Can someone explain me why its happening this way? equihash algo appears most profitable (for a long time), when we look to actual 24hr numbers, but its never selected and revenue/profit of equihash consistently stays at 3USD, at "online services" tab, for several days.

I am currently mining zcash outside of AWM, and easily getting around more then 6usd/Kh/day for more then 24 hr, while awesome miner consistently selects other algos.

Do anyone have an explanation why its happening this way?

If you right-click on the profit-miner and click on View Details, it will give you a list of the last few changes, and show you the list of coins it used to determine the most profitable at the change.  It's highly dependent on the profit profile, so did you benchmark your card type and save it as a profit profile?

hello, I just downloaded another AM on my nvidia laptop to run while I am not using it. I set it up, benchmarked it, but it only benchmarked a few, then I tried to run it after. But it keeps popping up the miner for a second then disappearing and saying interface offline on AM GUI. I looked in the logs and this is what it shows.
Code:
12/13/2017 2:10:52 AM.799 [010] [E]System.Net.WebException: The remote server returned an error: (503) Server Unavailable.

at PE.Infrastructure.Web.HttpRequestHelper.PerformPost(String url, String postData, WebProxy proxy, CookieContainer cookieContainer, Dictionary`2 headerDict, Boolean throwException, Boolean preventUnescapeOfSlash, String contentType, String requestMethod)

Any help would be much appreciated, as I have no clue what would cause this and have not been able to find any info as of yet to help.

Can anyone help with this? I see other people here haveing the same problem but have not received help either.

First things first... it's not a good idea to run mining software on a laptop.  They don't have the ability to keep your laptop cool for long periods of time that you would be mining.  You could potentially damage your laptop.

That being said, if you still want to try... What model GPU is in the laptop?  Which benchmarks did it complete?  Are you using a managed miner or a profit miner?  Which pool are you using?  What coin or algo are you trying to mine?
518  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner]- Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 5000 miners on: December 15, 2017, 05:08:40 AM
Hi guys just joined the forum am new to mining in general.

I installed Awesome Miner and have an nvidia GPU.

I'm using the Profit Miner and is there any one particular algo that I should use over others?

Should I have just one algo checked or leave it all on default?

I want to get the max out of my system.

Make sure you run the benchmarking tool in Awesome Miner, and then save the profit profile.  Then in your Profit Miner settings select this newly saved profit profile.  This will help Awesome miner pick the best algo for your card.

I just started using Awesome Miner last night with Mining Pool Hub.  So far everything is working correct.  I have 3 1070s and 1x 1070ti.  I woke up this morning to find it decided the Skein was the most profitable coin to mine after bouncing around last night to different coins making way more per day.  It wont work on anything else and is saying I am earning $7.65/day.  I know that other coins are more profitable right now.  Why is it going right after Skein?

I tried updating my workers on Mining Pool Hub to exclude Skein but it still goes after it.  Is there a way to block that algo from running in Awesome Miner while connected to Mining Pool Hub?

Thanks!

Are you using a profit miner or a managed miner?  What is your switching interval set to?
520  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner]- Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 5000 miners on: December 14, 2017, 04:34:18 AM
Im running this on a rig with an r9 280 and an rx 480 linked to mining pool hub. For some reason claymore cryptonote, zcash and sgminer all wont work. Sg miner loads up and just sits there with no hashrate, zcash and cryptonote just restart over and over again.

I use these miners fine on the same system with MultipoolMiner. Does anyone know why this would be happening?

I can use claymore dual no problem with awesome miner.

I dont like how multipoolminer use eminer, it doesnt work correctly with my 280.

This is usually due to some configuration error in either the pool or the managed or profit miner.  Check all the settings and make sure you didn't miss anything.  You can also right-click a miner and have it run diagnostics... it will usually give you a clue as to what was configured wrong.
