1843  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [Feedback wanted] P2P and non-custodial stablecoin <-> BTC service on: January 30, 2022, 07:07:01 AM
Honestly, I don't see how else you would do it. In every crypto decentralized exchange I know, usually, developers go with liquidity pools. So for example, the users add usdc and btc to your platform, and in exchange, they'll earn fees on every transaction that happens on that trading pair (based on their share of course).

It would've been easier if you were going to make a P2P platform where fiat is involved. I would've then suggested you reach out to some users in the currency exchange board and try to cut some kind of deal with them, so they start selling in your platform but for crypto pairs, there's is already so many CEXes and DEXes out there, that it makes it difficult to attract new users. Sure, they're not "trustless" but the reality is that the average user doesn't care about that.

I'm also curious, are you planning to develop this on your own? Not to bring you or anything, but if you're planning to go with this, I don't think it would be that easy of a task. Not because I think you lack the skills but I've been following thorchain for quite some time now, so if you're really trying to go with the same concept, you must know that this could be very time-consuming.
1844  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Looking for a reputable online marketplace that sell highend items for bitcoin on: January 30, 2022, 06:46:35 AM
There's BitDials.eu[1][2] and although I didn't use them myself, it looks legit based on the reviews I've read online. But I would still suggest you do your own research before using them.

1845  Economy / Trading Discussion / Hummingbot on: January 29, 2022, 08:43:10 AM
So I I want to talk about Hummingbot[1] which many of you probably already know. For those who don't, it's an open-source trading bot[2] that supports multiple exchanges (Both CEXes and DEXes).

The software offers many features but I'm mostly interested in arbitrage. I'd like to hear people's opinions on this and also experiences from those who have tried it before and whether you would recommend it or not.

1846  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Converting Neteller to BTC With Exchanges? on: January 29, 2022, 07:46:00 AM
Wait are you talking about the neteller debit card similar to like the skrill debit card?  Or do you mean a regular visa card?

So you are saying being American, I can still order this card and have it sent to the US?  I know there is a neteller or skrill card but I heard those cards can only be sent and used in european countries though.  Are we talking about this card or something else?

I'm talking about the Wise (formerly known as TransferWise) debit card and yes, you should be able to order it even if you're a U.S citizen.

If you order the card, and then link it to your Neteller account, you should be able to withdraw the funds to it and then basically send the funds to any bank account you want.

1848  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [Feedback wanted] P2P and non-custodial stablecoin <-> BTC service on: January 29, 2022, 07:08:52 AM
There's definitely going to be demand for it, but the question here is how are you going to get people to join the platform? Because you see, the problem with most decentralized and P2P platforms now is liquidity. If you manage to solve that, then I really don't see why would anyone go elsewhere. Especially if it is trustless as you say. It's also worth mentioning that there is a similar protocol that is being built, it's called Thorchain protocol and currently has ~180M TVL.

I don't think these regulations will have a positive effect for us, users. I believe those governments are always trying to get more information and break privacy on bitcoin transactions. Mostly forcing exchange to more KYC rules...

I'm afraid that the regulations will be even stricter. Also, the reality is that most people don't care about their privacy, and Binance losing[2] only 3% after enforcing KYC is proof of that so although I don't see what "more KYC rules" would look like, I'm pretty sure that most of our community won't have a problem complying.

What I'm more worried about right now is the "America COMPETES" bill[2] and how easily this could be abused to shut down bitcoin exchanges.

That's the thing. How do I know the recovery is genuine service or scam? -snip-

I'm personally a bit skeptical of how useful this type of service can be, especially in this type of situation, but the first thing to do would be to look them up online. If you can't find anything from Bitcointalk, Reddit (with a decent amount of upvotes and comments), or an article (excluding press releases and sponsored articles) on a reputable website, then you should probably stay away from them.

paypal.

1853  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone else with BTC stuck in Paypal? on: January 27, 2022, 07:08:52 AM
No other options for users like him. There is no way Paypal will really allow users to withdraw their BTC.
-snip-

I wouldn't be so sure about that. Skrill started supporting cryptocurrencies long before PayPal IIRC and although they didn't support withdrawals at the start, they ended up doing it: https://twitter.com/skrill/status/1364277436519772163

So if they're serious about acquiring more users and not losing their current ones, they will definitely follow Skrill's steps.

1854  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: How to Import 100 Private Keys on: January 26, 2022, 06:06:11 PM
Do you have your private keys in a txt file?

You can just paste them in electrum. You will literally import private keys into electrum wallet:
-snip-

I don't think that would work. Not using the UI anyway. Electrum checks the private keys before importing them so if you paste 100 private keys, you're not going to be able to import any of them because the "next" button will be greyed out since one of them is incorrect.
1855  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BTCPOP status on: January 26, 2022, 03:39:25 PM
I just found an alternative address from their fb page post and it worked fine. Are you also unable to login from their sub page? https://btcpop.co/home.php#/landing/home
If you notice, between the main page and sub pages have different tab icons. If you think it's fine, then give it a try. But I suggest you don't use the main account.

DWYOR

That's not working either. I don't have an account, but I tried to log in with random credentials and I got this error:

Code:
Unable to open a connection

Same thing when I try to create an account:

Code:
SERVER ERROR: Try again
1856  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: LAtoken - exchange or gambling? on: January 26, 2022, 03:21:51 PM
I just checked their platform and from the looks of it, they seem to be the CEX version of Pancakeswap. I'm not sure about the specific coin you mentioned but by looking at the biggest losers (24% change) it appears that they are useless coins with no use case and with huge circulating supply, you know the type of coins we've been seeing for the last few months (like SafeMoon, ELON, etc.).

So no, I doubt that the team behind the platform has anything to do with the pumps and dumps, but I would still hold them responsible since they are approving this kind of coins for listing.

Quote
You just need to bring your Identification Document- ID when you visit the branches in Dubai, Istanbul, London, and Kosovo. It does not matter whether you are a local citizen or a foreign visitor.

1858  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone else with BTC stuck in Paypal? on: January 26, 2022, 09:35:42 AM
If you're not willing to wait, you can just sell the BTC for USD again, and then find someone to buy BTC from using Paxful or Localbitcoins.

-snip-

1860  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Why don't popular micro/freelancers sites adopt bitcoin? on: January 26, 2022, 08:20:07 AM
Truth be told — potential regulatory problems aside, I'm quite certain that demand for bitcoin payments is just so low that it might not make sense for them to allocate manpower into having bitcoin payments.

And why doesn't a platform of the same kind, but using bitcoin, is able to develop itself to compete against the big ones?
We actually have existing crypto freelance sites. Obviously userbase is drastically lower than major freelance sites though.

I don't think I can agree with you on this one. Implementing bitcoin payments shouldn't require that much work unless they're planning to run their own nodes, etc. which most businesses are not interested in doing.

As for the demand, then I'm pretty sure a lot of people would like to see it, maybe they just didn't show interest. Freelancer platforms are full of developers and tech-savvy's, exactly the type of people who you would expect to be interested in bitcoin.

We can also look back a little, and see that Fiverr used to accept Bitcoin (2014-2017). So even now, 5 years later when the demand should be higher, it seems like there's still no interest to add it.
