Why did my thread get moved to gambling?  This is gambling?  Joining a contest is now called gambling?  I remember joining plenty of contests that weren't considered gambling?

Will you be notifying us of the winners and best entries on this thread?

Absolutely =)
125  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin in Universities on: February 04, 2015, 10:59:08 PM
Google "University Bitcoin Club". They exist.

The big problem I could see is what could these clubs actually provide as a benefit? Now, if you had a Bitcoin programming group that were interested in learning source, etc...Maybe.
I think it would be cool so if you go to a university you can search and find other people at the same one to connect with.

I am a web developer and would be willing to help.

=) Thanks so much for responding.  Just going to let this thread kick around for a bit and see if anyone else finds interest or ideas that might help bring the idea along.  Will be in touch! Thanks again.

I believe what I was going for was to say that if such a group was made, efforts would have to be made to remain proactive.

A lot of ideas fail simply due to lack of effort - making a website is great, but you need constant content and attention.

Absolutely agree.  This is why I came to this thread.  It would be a full time project for a group of 3 or 4 individuals with experience in managing events and organization based projects.  I think it would be cool to get a discussion going.  This would definitely require daily updates and a steady stream of interesting content, with a community that encouraged communication and participation.   I am visioning rewards, school based innovation competitions and a bunch of encouraging activities.  Trying to think of an organization to compare the idea to but nothing comes to mind.

Connecting universities on bitcoin project whether they are in competition, working together. It would be great for innovation and involvement.  People don't have to seek BTC information, it is provided in weekly meetings.  Information would be consistent, relevant and easy to access instead of filtering through forums and 100's of random websites to find it.  I personally see endless benefits if this program was utilized correctly.

Googled it, there is a whole bunch yes, there is still a number of universities without.  This idea is a basis and foundation for other schools to get involved, and the bitcoin clubs that are already running to work together and network.

Posted a bit ago, didn't get to connect with many people so here we go again.

I think it would be super helpful if a few of us could connect to work on a global Bitcoin Club for universities.  Why?  This would be a great chance to bring bitcoin to universities and help those who are Bitcoin interested to get involved with the school, keep up to date with Bitcoin info and get other students involved.... It would be awesome to encourage bitcoin clubs in universities, encourage innovation and collaberation between students at the same / different schools, and perhaps get some universities involved.

What would this include?
  • A website with forums/chat for clubs from each university to connect
  • Monthly distribution of up to date information, current news, print outs, posters and informative packs for each participant
  • Monthly bitcoin merchandise for promotional events
  • Monthly information and general guidance.  The club executives would choose events, how to distribute information, meetings, how/what to present, discussion based meetings, etc.
  • Perhaps an annual bitcoin meetup at the school that wins "some sort of challenge through the semester"
  • Specialized information for schools, some might provide business programs, others tech and info systems, so the packages and information could be tailored to the needs of the school

Pretty much, this would just be a ready to go location for all universities to network around bitcoin and ensure up to date/correct/consistent information is being heard.  I think there is a whole bunch of people who would participate/ volunteer to run the club, it's a matter of having information packs and updated information ready to go and distributed on a monthly basis.

Anyone like the idea? Thoughts? Feedback? Want to start up a project? DM me, it would be cool to work on something like this with a great team.

132  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: GAW Miners Paybase Paycoin unofficial uncensored discussion.ALWAYS MAKE MONEY :) on: February 02, 2015, 11:50:56 PM
On the same note, maybe I'm being unfair here. I may not have all the info.

Is there any report on the Garza address to The North American Bitcoin Conference (TNABC) in Miami on the 16th of January? OR was he effectively removed, and Paycoin removed from the sponsor list? Was there a Q&A after all?

https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/josh-garza-address-growing-paycoin-paybase-scam-concerns-tnabc-miami/

He changed his requests to a custom venue, in which it was reported that he cancelled. I tweeted him and he told me to eat my words that i was spreading misinformation, he was going to speak.  Morning of the Q&A who is a no show. The guy is a fucking idiot at best. Anyone who trusts him to control a brand, and ensure the safety of their investment and hard earned capital, is fucking lost.

the boffin guy who was the front man in usa should be facing felony charges for fraud and deception and god knows what else

its unbelieveable that everyones just letting him off when he was responsible for the USA fronting of the company

WTF is the accountability for him ?

Doesn't exist. Deleted his reddit & twitter accounts.  Just into the thin air... Chat logs show that he knew he was being negligent and should investigate his anonymous partner, yet decided willingly not to.  The company accounts and american name i believe was in his name. So how is it that he has dissapeared, and nothing... I don't even believe there is a real court case on this. All BS

135  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Moolah Scam on Mintpal - MintpalJustice.com - Report Missing Funds on: January 24, 2015, 05:53:35 PM
Why is this thread dying did ppl just gave up their money?  Undecided

here are a couple reasons:

1) the badguy is caught and now in the hands of the justice system
2) its highly unlikely that anyone will see any money back, far less likely that a substantive number will get anything meaningful like 25% of their funds
3) too many people forgive and forget far too fast
4) that's old money, they are chasing new money be it here or elsewhere
and
5) many people just had enough, enough of the scams, enough of the losses, and enough of the wickedness ... many left crypto, not stricktly because of this but for many this was just the last straw.

Look, BTC was twice as high as it is now when this occurred even if they got all of their money back it would be worth half as it was when you lost it.

The guy lucked out because if someone killed him earlier on the whole CC industry would be far more improved because at that to point some operators would know that you can't just ripoff people wholesale and expect to get away with it like what occurred in the past.   but nope, same old, same old ...

if anyone should be killed for scamming its got to be karpeles first
if he gets away scott free with almost a billion dollar crime then what this mintpal asshole did looks like nothing .........

edit: who says hes already in the justice system ? where and when was he arrested and what exactly were the charges ?
(in the uk a 5 million dollar hacker arrested will always make the newspapers and i havent seen it yet )

Exactly, had Karpeles paid the ultimate price for his foolish deeds I'm sure Green would not have been so quick to follow his lead.

As far as Karpeles is concerned, 20 years in a fed prison (if convicted of anything in any country) is nothing he'll be 50ish when he
gets out with boat load of money.

As for Green, yes he's in the justice system, not the criminal justice system but the civil justice system.

Like I said all of the madness slows to a crawl once the industry make is perfectly clear it will not tolerate wholesale thievery.
Until then don't look for refunds.

They should all be held accountable. Including Boffin.  Where the hell did the Boffin go? Do the courts not care that he negligently, knowingly and willingly registered american companies and accounts in his name and encouraged investors into what was a scam, with 0 due dilligence.  This guy deletes his reddit account and dissapears off the grid and everything is okay?

The ticker seems to have issues some times, usually it works fine after a reload.  Did you give that a shot?. Where about\s would you prefer this thread to be for your reading pleasure?

I was on tablet, on Windows PC all is well  Smiley

I think Bitcoin Forum > Economy > Marketplace > Service Announcements is correct place for such announcements Cool

since he is paying for people do stuff I guess the correct section for this topic is services(but open another in Service Announcements would be good too)

I'll just let this one sit, don't need another one, but in the future will do it there.  Happy weekend everyone.  Cheesy

What I am missing is a list of where to spend my Bitcoin, why always focus only on the exchange value of the coin and not the beauty it can be "revolutionising the way we pay!" <-- wow.. free of use slogan here Tongue

If you add that I will review it Wink

Hey, how is this? - http://bitcoinshopping.center/ Working on it at the moment, have made a list of about 1200 business accepting bitcoin, just need to enter them all now!
