422  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / A brief guide to preparation for businesses considering Bitcoin integration on: November 14, 2014, 10:27:13 PM
Hey guys, wanted to share an article with you and see if anyone felt points were missed or anything could be added.

I find that it's hard to recall the steps that lead to Bitcoin knowledge and it's easy to overlook stuff.  Hope to hear your feedback, thoughts and feel free to share with anyone who might be interested in getting started with Bitcoin payments.

423  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How did bitcoin obtain it's value? on: November 14, 2014, 07:48:16 AM
Demand. If everyone was to stop purchasing, the price would fall. As buy orders come in, it rises.
424  Bitcoin / Project Development / Are you part of an organization / business that accepts Bitcoin? on: November 13, 2014, 05:42:48 AM
Hey there,

We are looking for businesses that accept crypto currencies (preferably businesses before BTC and have integrated) for an interview.  Why? We have done a few in the past and they get a fantastic response.  We want to give prospecting businesses and potential adopters an inside look at the process and experiences.  Each interview is roughly 9 custom questions, they will be tailored to your business and industry.  Here's our latest sitdown with Vericoin - http://yocrypto.ca/2014/11/vericoin-a-veri-proactive-crypto-currency/

  • Your business has to be running creative promotions. By that we mean, something that encourages people to give Bitcoin a try, or adds value to the purchase process, Also interested in organizations active in Bitcoin education in their community.

Why should you consider?

You will get free promotion on our site, archived for our duration alive,  backlinks to your site, free promotion, added to our social media loop of accounts and promoted daily.

If this is something you think would be cool to do please email me at yo@yocrypto.ca and I will get familiar with your core and start up some questions right away.
425  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Changetip and why it is the killer app that BTC needed on: November 13, 2014, 04:35:43 AM
/tip $.0001

I wish this would work with this forum, it would be useful but a lot of spam messages saying "tip has been sent and claimed by userxxx" would be seen.

Is there an extension that does it all offline but still responds to posts such as: /tip $.0001?

Dam, I am gullible.  Thought for sure this was new. Face palming.
426  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: I'm giving away a Bitcoin TREZOR and a 10% promo code on: November 13, 2014, 04:34:24 AM
I'm conducting my monthly giveaway of a Bitcoin TREZOR - the winner gets a new sealed TREZOR shipped directly from Satoshi labs. Also if you're just interested in buying a TREZOR there's a 10% promo code valid for the next 5 days.

Thanks for the giveaway. Really like the product and actually have never seen it before.
427  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Rejoice! Bitcoin IS Bitcoin 2.0 ... on: November 13, 2014, 04:02:42 AM

1 Bitcoin = 1 Bitcoin?
428  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: buy bitcoins easy on: November 13, 2014, 03:47:36 AM
The OP makes a good point... there are tons of tutorials on YouTube etc but most of them get too technical too soon and don't explain the basics of where to buy btc.
If you're going to make a 101 vid please stay away from trying to explain mining or the block chain right away.... as soon as you hear things like "complex algorithms" you've lost their interest.... start with the benefits and reasons... but please show where they can buy coins the easy way... isn't that the whole point of educating folks to actually get them into the game?

Completely agree. Once you get into the Bitcoin game it's easy to forget all the breadcrumbs that got you there.  Really takes a lot of digging around to learn everything.
429  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: buy bitcoins easy on: November 13, 2014, 03:43:02 AM
Hey there,

I have a decent list of quick methods to acquire crypto currencies going here http://yocrypto.ca/crypto-currency-essentials/buy-sell-and-exchange-crypto-currency/. You can go the exchange route or a third party selling service usually more expensive but quick, Circle is super good and fast for USA (I'm in canada, they let me buy Bitcoin with my account in two seconds, but not cash back out), Trucoin also seems great and quick everywhere but Canada, and Cavirtex is what i use to exchange back into CAD.
430  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Living on Bitcoin Alone! (CNN Money) What Do You Think? on: November 11, 2014, 09:54:37 PM
I wounder how this little experiment will look like in 5 years...

Right?  Cool idea, but i wish they would have concluded that "in a few years this might look a little different".  Also there's so many industry specific benefits. For example, I play online poker all day, and there is massive benefits that anyone can take advantage of, but I don't commute to work,so that video doesn't really apply to me. I think if some of these commercials focused on the utility it's already functioning well at, gambling, online purchases, international transfer, then people would be more open. Either way, publicity.
431  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The transaction fee is just ridiculous. on: November 11, 2014, 06:31:22 PM
We are FORCED to pay a tax upon every transaction, and they say Bitcoin doesn't have any taxes? That's just pure crap. Taxation is unconstitutional theft via armed extortion. In Bitcoin's case, it's unavoidable, and is without the armed extortion (YOU ARE FORCED TO PAY).

You are not FORCED to pay anything.

You are not even FORCED to use bitcoin.

You are welcome to use bitcoin if you like, and you are welcome to pay any fee (or no fee at all if you like).

Equally, the peers on the network are not FORCED to relay your transaction if they don't want to.

They are welcome to relay your transaction if they like, and they are welcome to ignore your transaction if they like.

Equally, the miners are not FORCED to include your transaction in their blocks.

They are welcome to include your transaction if they like, and they are welcome to leave your transaction for some other miner to include in their block if they like.

Isn't it great how NOBODY is FORCED to do any of these things with bitcoin.

The same plugs that
are forced to get fat because Mcdonalds food is unhealthy
and forced to eat it because their marketing is too convincing
and the ones who have 6 kids, that the government doesn't do enough to support
and the same ones who protest their shitty paying jobs because they are forced to work there
Ugh, they are everywhere.

434  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: 2 chances to win .03 Bitcoin and come get some free dogecoins. 1 Minute survey on: November 07, 2014, 07:22:05 PM
Hey guys!

We are working to get an accurate sample of the active Bitcoin and Dogecoin community demographics. Come join our giveaways which have been posted on reddit and you can win

2 prizes of 0.03 Bitcoin
http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/2lj231/gathering_demographics_sample_of_active_bitcoin/

And every survey fill out / comment gets 300 Doges
http://www.reddit.com/r/dogecoin/comments/2lj3uw/gathering_demographics_sample_of_active_dogecoin/

They are super short and basic, will take you 1 minute max.

The reason? We have seen a whole bunch of information based on google trends, yet a lack of decent sized samples that accurately represent the  communities.  We want to provide a free resource for business and individuals to understand the composition of the communities.

Please help grow the sample size.

Open until SATURDAY 5:00 pm mtn,
48 hours, ticking down.

Thanks for your time i really, really appreciate it.  The results will be shared monday after i get a chance to make some cute charts.

435  Other / Off-topic / Re: Gathering demographics sample of active Bitcoin users. Please give us two min! on: November 07, 2014, 06:45:17 AM
Can you share the survey results on here when they are ready please?
Thanks much

I promise! I am going to need a day or two to jazz them up in nice little graphs, maybe a few pie charts. The plan is to share them on Monday, so keep your eyes pealed. Will also be sharing them on reddit and YOCrypto Blog, as well as the same survey for Dogecoin! Thanks so much for the submission, every one is super important to getting a sample that's big enough to provide good info!
436  Other / Off-topic / Re: Gathering demographics sample of active Bitcoin users. Please give us two min! on: November 07, 2014, 05:47:23 AM

437  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: 2 chances to win .03 Bitcoin and come get some free dogecoins. 1 Minute survey on: November 07, 2014, 05:39:27 AM
I opted to stay mum the first time you posted similar in the wrong section, but now you've gone ahead and posted two. Something doesn't smell right.

Where should I post it? If accidently posted it in the wrong section, my apologies, i will gladly take it down if this is an issue.. I am gathering completely 100% anonymous answers to questions for data that will help the crypto currency communities reach the general public. PLEASE, by all means let me know what i can do differently, so it smells better. I would gladly send you a picture of my face or whatever you need. I am active all over twitter, @marketminded is my personal account, if you want my linkedin here ya go https://www.linkedin.com/profile/view?id=253427194&trk=nav_responsive_tab_profile Sorry for my sas, it just urks me that people are willing to throw 10k in Moolah and all these scams without asking questions, but my harmless survey that's trying to do some good gets your scrutiny.  I put a lotta work into this and am giving away not a lot of money, but with my budget, lots lol.
438  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: 2 chances to win .03 Bitcoin and come get some free dogecoins. 1 Minute survey on: November 07, 2014, 05:28:59 AM
I completed both your surveys, but I did not put the information on reddit for payment, Not worried about payment for completing your surveys.

Good luck with your surveys Smiley

Thanks so much for taking the time to do the survey.  Cheesy
